story from abide I'm Tyler thanks for joining me for tonight's story God is peace you'll fall asleep as you rest in the Embrace of a loving God who blesses his children with peace that passes all understanding you serve a God who cares for your every need he watches over you and protects you even when you forget he's there during the day he's directing your every step at night he's guiding your every breath he picks you up when you stumble he carries you when you can't go on no matter what you've done in the past or present he loves you and because of this you can rest peacefully through the night long ago King David wrote about the peace he enjoyed as he slept under the star-lit Skies of Jerusalem David knew that the enemies of Israel wanted him to fail but David also knew that the god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob was right there by his side this is what David wrote in Psalm chapter 4 verse 8. in peace I will lie down and sleep were you alone O Lord will keep me safe the same is true for you the God who watched over the greatest Earthly King in Israel's history is watching over you he's The all-powerful God Who created the mammals and the fish the mountains and the Seas the sun and the Stars merely by speaking and on the seventh day he rested sleep is a marvelous gift from a loving God it's a time to relax and recover and to rest in the arms of the God who made you it's a time to hand all your troubles to God and to receive all His blessings take a few moments now to make sure everything around you is just the way you want it for a great night's sleep the temperature the lights your bedding your pillow if you need to pause the story while I'm talking that's perfectly fine you can continue the story when you return stretch out your arms and your legs wiggle your fingers and your toes Revel in the sensation of your muscles finally getting a much deserved break take a deep relaxing breath hold it there for a moment now exhale continue breathing slowly and deeply as you hand all your troubles to God all of them is all power all loving he's The Sovereign God who Reigns over every area of your life hand him whatever you're thinking about your work your school your home life [Music] he created everything in this vast universe he knows the number of hairs on your head and grains of sand on the beach he takes care of his creation he redeems he restores he will take care of you as you lie in bed open the palms of your hands and accept God's perfect peace imagine it's flooding all over you it's been a long day and you've probably looked forward to this moment it's finally here you don't have to think about the things of this world right now you can unwind as you rest in God's promises as you fall asleep in the loving arms of your savior that passes all understanding is yours the god of the universe is present with you right now dear father thank you for this child of yours thank you for creating them loving them and taking care of them I pray now that they will sense your presence and your peace in a mighty way I pray that they will know you are watching over them and protecting them father I thank you for their many blessings thank you for their gifts and talents thank you for drawing them to yourself tonight and for giving them a heart for you you created them for a purpose and you have a special plan for them in your kingdom thank you for giving this child a Time to rest in the Assurance of your joy your patience your peace I ask that you will bless them throughout the night grant them sweet dreams help them to wake up refreshed and rejuvenated ready to serve you another day I know they are safe in The Loving Arms of the Savior who never sleeps nor slumbers it was always protecting the ones he loves amen you can have peace throughout the night because God is sovereign he opposes the wicked and the proud he stands firm against evil tyrants and corrupt Nations yet he upholds and protects his children he's protecting you God is like a loving Shepherd watching over and guarding his sheep he never falls asleep he never looks away he's always on guard on the lookout as his children rest comfortably throughout the night God is present everywhere and he's present right here with you long ago the ancient Israelites sang about the peace they experienced because of God's Sovereign protection over them enemies surrounded ancient Israel yet God's people knew that the king of the universe was on their side God is on your side too the Israelites song is found in the ninth chapter of the book of Psalms it's easy to imagine thousands of God's children gathered in and around the temple singing these words with all their might hands lifted High picture it I will give thanks to you Lord with all my heart I will tell of all your wonderful Deeds I will be glad and rejoice in you I will sing the Praises of your name O most high my enemies turn back they stumble and perish before you for you have upheld my right and my cause sitting enthroned as the righteous judge you have rebuked the Nations and destroyed the wicked you have blotted out their name forever and ever endless ruin has overtaken my enemies you have uprooted their cities even the memory of them has perished the Lord reigns forever he has established his throne for judgment he rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed a stronghold in times of trouble those who know your name it's in you where you Lord have never forsaken those who seek you sing the Praises of the Lord enthroned in Zion Proclaim among the Nations what he has done for He Who avenges blood remembers he does not ignore the cries of The Afflicted the Lord is known by his acts of Justice the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands the wicked go down to the realm of the Dead all the nations that forget God but God will never forget the needy the hope of The Afflicted will never perish the peace that the Israelites experienced is the same peace that God is granting you tonight it's a peace that is possible because of God's Sovereign care for you he loves you no matter what you've done he protects you no matter where you go this peace is possible because of God's power he decides when nations rise and fall he controls the Seas he guides the wind nothing happens on this Earth without his permission he is the Lord over all creation and the Lord over your life too you can sleep tonight in peace because the god of sleep is with you he created sleep for your good and for his glory being David often sang about God's power and God's peace David knew that the power of God was the reason he could sleep peacefully through the night David sang about it in Psalm chapter 29. it was a song that reminded the Israelites of God's strength and God's care for them it was a song that reminded the Israelites that God was on their side rest peacefully as I read this comforting psalm ascribe to the Lord you Heavenly beings ascribe to the Lord glory and strength ascribe to the Lord the glory do his name Worship the Lord in the Splendor of his holiness the voice of the Lord is over the waters the god of Glory Thunders the Lord Thunders over the mighty Waters the voice of the Lord is powerful voice of the Lord is majestic the voice of the Lord breaks the Cedars the Lord breaks in pieces The Cedars of Lebanon he makes Lebanon leap like a calf Syrian like a young wild ox the voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning the voice of the Lord shakes the desert the Lord shakes the desert of Kadesh the voice of the Lord twists The Oaks and strips the forest's bare and in his Temple all cry Glory the Lord sits enthroned over the flood the Lord is enthroned as king forever the Lord gives strength to his people the Lord blesses his people with peace let me pray over you dear father you are the God of Peace you are the God of all things that are good your creation testifies to your glory and your loving kindness thank you for this child of yours thank you for giving them this time to rest in to recover thank you for this time they had with you and thank you for the gift of sleep father I pray blessings on them tonight grant them sweet dreams about you help them to wake up refreshed in Jesus name I pray amen the Lord of Peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way tonight you are loved thanks for listening to this abide sleep story foreign the love of God is immeasurable it's unchanging it's separate you from his infinite all-consuming uncontainable love it's always pursuing you and always drawing you back to himself his love for you is unconditional his love is the reason you exist and the reason behind Every Breath You Take it's the reason he sent his son Jesus to Earth and the reason Jesus rose from the grave it's also the reason he will come back one day the love of God is the source of every blessing in life it makes life worth living God guides your every step during the day and he guides your every breath during the night he's watching over you and protecting you even when you don't know it [Music] and it's all because he loves you the Bible even says God is love love is part of his character to he is and because of God's love you are a part of his family God will never stop loving you he will never forget you he will never abandon you he will always be right there right by your side for tonight's story we'll travel through the Psalms as we explore the many facets of God's love it's a love that pursues us and for gifts it's a love that protects and provides prepare to relax unwind and fall peacefully to sleep in the arms of your creator the lover of your soul as you prepare for a night of restful sleep Begin by making sure everything around you is just the way you want it your pillow your sheet your blanket the temperature even the lights if you need to walk around your room for a moment feel free to hit pause on the app you can pick up right where you left off when you return once you have everything ready and once you're relaxing Snuggly in your bed then Begin by handing all your troubles to God he's The Sovereign creator of the heavens and the Earth he can care for your every need let him do that tonight for you in return accept his perfect peace and his perfect patience it's time to relax and quietly rejoice in the warm Comforts of your bed the day is over your work is done stretch out your arms in your legs now do the same with your fingers hang your toes enjoy the sensation of your muscles getting a much needed break let your head sink ever so slowly into the pillow let your muscles in your neck and your shoulders backs take a deep relaxing breath and as you do picture yourself inhaling the very peace of God [Music] hold your breath for a Split Second now breathe out as you exhale picture yourself handing anything to God that is still lingering in your mind hand him your thoughts from work from your family life from school ensure that your only thoughts are on God is love for you and the peace he's giving you for a restful night's sleep all day long you've looked forward to this moment of quiet Stillness that time has come let me pray for you father thank you for this child of God thank you for the many blessings in their life their food their dwelling their friends and their family thank you for the many things we often Overlook for a bed to sleep in and a pillow to lay our head on thank you most of all for your love father draw this child of yours close to you tonight stretch your arms around them and help them feel your warm embrace grant them your perfect peace I ask that you will watch over and protect them bless them with sweet dreams father help their aching body relax unwind and recover I ask that they will wake up in the morning with energy and purpose ready to serve in your kingdom another day I pray the words of Psalm 4 verse 8 on this child of yours David wrote I can lie down and sleep soundly because you Lord will keep me safe father help this child of yours sleep soundly keep them safe and Jesus precious name I pray amen you can sleep in peace tonight knowing that the Lord of all creation loves and protects you you can sleep in peace knowing that your identity is found in him and not in the world the same God who drew Abraham Isaac and Jacob to himself is the same God who is drawing you long ago in ancient Israel God's people would gather at the temple and sing about God's love their voices would carry throughout the temple and throughout Jerusalem allowing anyone in range to hear about God's Mighty works one of these songs is found in psalm 118. give thanks to the Lord for he is good his love endures forever let Israel say his love endures forever let the house of Aaron say his love endures forever let those who fear the lord say his love endures forever when hard-pressed I cried to the Lord he brought me into a spacious place the Lord is with me I will not be afraid what can mere mortals do to me the Lord is with me he is my helper I look in Triumph on my enemies it is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans it is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes all the nations surrounded me but in the name of the Lord I cut them down I was pushed back and about to fall but the Lord helped me the Lord is my strength and my defense he has become my salvation shouts of joy and victory ReSound in the tents of the righteous the Lord's right hand has done Mighty things the Lord's right hand is lifted High the Lord's right hand has done Mighty things I will not die but live and will Proclaim What the Lord Has Done open for me the gates of the righteous I will enter and give thanks to the Lord this is the Gate of the Lord through which the righteous may enter I will give you thanks for you answered me you have become my salvation the stone the builders rejected has become the Cornerstone the Lord has done this and it is marvelous in our eyes the Lord has done it this very day let us rejoice today and be glad Lord save us Lord grant us success blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord from the house of the Lord we bless you the Lord is God and he has made his light shine on us with a vows in hand join in the festal procession up to the horns of the altar you are my God and I will praise you you are my God and I will exalt you give thanks to the Lord for he is good his love endures forever thank you Lord for loving this child of yours [Music] amen God's love is a pursuing love it's a love that pursues you runs after you It's A Love That Forgives and doesn't remember it's a love that restores and renews it's a Love full of grace and truth it's a love filled with new beginnings and new mercies for you every morning King David wrote about God's pursuing and protecting love in a famous song We Know as psalm 23. when the Israelites sang its lyrics they were reminded of God's unexplainable uncontainable love they were reminded that no matter where they go in life God was watching over them protecting them the same is true for you it's easy to imagine the Israelites gathered together in Solomon's Temple men and women young and old alike smiling and singing praises to the Lord hands lifted High as they thank God for his all-pering all protecting love the Lord is my shepherd I have all that I need he lets me rest in Green Meadows he leaves me beside peaceful streams he renews my strength he guides me along right paths bringing honor to his name even when I walk through the darkest Valley I will not be afraid for you are close beside me Your Rod and your staff protect and comfort me you prepare A Feast for me in the presence of my enemies you honor Me by anointing my head with oil my cup overflows with blessings surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life and I will live in the house of the Lord forever God's love is the reason you can have peace you can feel safe because you are safe in his loving arms he is the creator of the mountains and the Seas he is the maker of the hills and the valleys spread the sand along the seashore and the Stars across the sky he is a powerful God Beyond description and he considers us the Pinnacle of his creation he created us in order to love us and in order for us to love him long ago the Israelites would Gather in Solomon's Temple and sing about the peace God provides when enemies were all around this song was to be sung by Sopranos or female voices we know it as Psalm 46 God is our refuge and strength always ready to help in times of trouble so we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea let the oceans Roar and foam let the mountains tremble as the waters surge a river brings Joy to the city of our God the sacred home of the most high God dwells in that City it cannot be destroyed from the very break of day God will protect it the nations are in chaos and Their Kingdoms crumble as voice Thunders and the Earth melts the Lord of Heaven's armies is here Among Us the god of Israel is our Fortress come see the Glorious works of the Lord see how he brings destruction upon the world he causes Wars to end throughout the Earth he breaks the bow and snaps the spear he burns the shields with fire be still and know that I am God I will be honored by every nation I will be honored throughout the world the Lord of Heaven's armies is here Among Us the god of Israel is our Fortress God's love is the reason you were created who are part of his plan before he formed Adam and Eve before he made the heavens and the Earth and even before he made light itself God was thinking about you before the universe ever existed his plan for you is for your good and for his glory King David penned a song about God's marvelous handiwork in creating each one of us David's song eventually became what we know as Psalm 139 when the Israelites sang it they were reminded of God's creative love for each one of his children that very thought through the Israelites to worship oh Lord you have examined my heart and know everything about me you know when I sit down or stand up you know my thoughts even when I'm far away you see me when I travel and when I rest at home you know everything I do you know what I'm going to say even before I say it Lord you go before me and follow me you place your hand of blessing on my head such knowledge is too wonderful for me too great for me to understand I can never escape from your spirit I can never get away from your presence if I go up to heaven you're there if I go down to the Grave you are there if I ride the wings of the morning if I dwell by the farthest oceans even there your hand will guide me and your strength will support me I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night but even in darkness I cannot hide from you to you the night shines as bright as day Darkness and Light are the same to you you made all the delicate inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb thank you for making me so wonderfully complex your workmanship is marvelous how well I know it you watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion as I was woven together in the dark of the womb you saw me before I was born [Music] every day of my life was recorded in your book every moment was laid out before a single day had passed how precious are your thoughts about me God they cannot be numbered can't even count them they outnumber the grains of sand and when I wake up you are still with me search me o God and know my heart test me and know my anxious thoughts point out anything in me that offends you and lead me along the path of everlasting life the love of God is a saving redeeming love it's a love that heals troubled souls and restores broken lives it's a love overflowing with grace and mercy it's a love that never gives up on you and That Forgives you again and again and again it's a love that only once what is best for you thousands of years ago the ancient Israelites saying about the redeeming love of God as they gathered in the temple of Jerusalem they sang about the love and compassion of a holy God who is full of grace and mercy they sang about his restoring power and His Infinite love later this song became known as psalm 103. praise the Lord my soul all my inmost being praise His holy name praise the Lord my soul and forget not all his benefits who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases who redeems your life from their pit and crowns you with love and compassion who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles the Lord Works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed he may known his ways to Moses his deeds to the people of Israel the Lord is compassionate and gracious slow to anger abounding in love he will not always accuse nor will he Harbor his anger forever it does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities for as high as the heavens are above the Earth so great is his love for those who fear Him as far as the East is from the West so far has he removed our transgressions from us as a father has compassion on his children so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him for he knows how we are formed he remembers that we are dust the life of Mortals is like grass they flourish like a flower of the field the wind blows it over and it is gone and its place remembers it no more but from Everlasting to Everlasting the Lord's love is with those who fear Him and his righteousness with their children's children with those who keep his Covenant and remember to obey his precepts the Lord has established his throne in heaven and his kingdom rules overall praise the Lord you his angels you mighty ones who do his bidding who obey his word praise the Lord all his Heavenly hosts you his servants who do his will praise the Lord all his works everywhere in his Dominion praise the Lord my soul because God loves you you can love him he is worthy of worship and praise the ancient Israelites often sang about God's love in a tune that became psalm 104. as you fall asleep let this be your prayer but all that I am praise the Lord oh Lord my God how great you are you are robed with honor and Majesty you are dressed in a robe of light you stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens you lay out the rafters of your home in the rain clouds you make the clouds your chariot you ride upon the wings of the Wind the winds are your Messengers flames of fire are your servants you placed the world on its foundation so it would never be moved you clothed the Earth with floods of water that covered even the mountains at your command the water fled at the sound of your thunder it hurried away mountains rows and valleys sank to the levels you decreed then you set a firm boundary for the Seas so that they would never again cover the Earth you make Springs pour water into The Ravines so streams gushed down from the mountains they provide water for all the animals and the wild donkeys quench their thirst the birds nest beside the streams and sing among the branches of the trees you send rain on the mountains from your heavenly home and you fill the Earth with the fruit of your labor you cause grass to grow for the livestock in plants for people to use you allow them to produce food from the Earth wine to make them glad olive oil to soothe their skin and bread to give them strength the Lord takes pleasure in all he has made the Earth trembles at his glance the mountains smoke at his touch I will sing to the Lord as long as I live I will praise my God to my last breath may all my thoughts be pleasing to him for I rejoice in the Lord let all Sinners vanish from the face of the Earth let the wicked disappear forever let all that I am praise the Lord praise the Lord let me pray for you loving God thank you for this child of yours thank you for loving them protecting them and guiding them oh Father I pray that your angels will surround them tonight I ask that you will watch over them in a mighty way give them peace grant them a marvelous restful night's sleep embrace them in your arms with your immeasurable loving kindness help them to wake up refreshed and renewed ready to serve you Jesus name I pray amen God's love is infinite immeasurable and uncontainable he will pursue you all the days of your life and you will live in the house of the Lord forever accept his gift of perfect peace tonight rest in the presence God views you as one of the most precious things he has he loves you so much Isaiah 49 16 says behold I have engraved you on the palms of my hands your walls are continually before me you are engraved focus on your legs let tension dissolve away feel your lower back and a abdominal muscles just switching off now your chest and upper back feel all the tension Melt Away let your shoulders arms hands and fingers relax and shut down finally your face eyes and mouth relax them and find yourself starting to drift off father thank you for being our heavenly father we thank you for your love and encouragement Lord let this child of yours feel your presence right now Jesus there may be times that they don't feel loved or wanted but it's in those times that they need to be reminded about what you say about them you say that they are loved you say that they are precious in your sight you say that they are yours Lord teach them to only care about what you say about them and not what other people say about them in your precious name we pray amen now imagine yourself sitting on a very busy downtown Street you're blind so you can't see what's going on around you or the crowd is overwhelming your voice cannot be heard there are so many people walking on the sidewalk that you're constantly being bumped into The Sounds the smells the Dust the clamor every day it's the same you keep asking and begging for someone anyone to give you just a little bit of money so you can eat you hear no friendly words you feel no friendly touch in fact you can hear some talking about you unkindly maybe thinking because that you can't see you can't hear all of a sudden you hear someone Shout there he is everybody immediately starts to Surge toward this individual you have no idea who they're all wanting to see you try and ask people who is there but no one answers you then you hear someone say there's Jesus you've heard of this man his amazing teaching his miracles oh his miracles the thought flits through your mind that maybe Jesus could help you now he's helped so many others but then reality sets in and The Hope drains from you you've been tossed aside so many times why would Jesus even pay any attention to you you just sit there try to listen to what's going on just then you hear someone call out to you did you hear that right did someone say your name and then then you hear it again softer closer gentler that since your father spoke to you as a child have you heard your name said in that way so so lovingly all other noise has stopped it's as if you're in a cave no one around you moves or speaks it's Jesus you don't know how you know but you know it's Jesus and he has found you you feel his hand on your forehead you you hear his gentle voice and all of a sudden the darkness that has always enveloped you starts to grow thinner light begins to break through in your eyes begin to focus and you find yourself looking directly into Jesus's eyes Jesus is looking directly at you and you feel more love coming from him than you have ever felt in your entire life imagine being blind your whole life and then miraculously being healed imagine being overlooked ridiculed and then suddenly loved Beyond Your Wildest imagination out of all the others on the street that day that he could have stopped for Jesus chose you maybe you felt the way that the blind man felt that people ignore you and you feel that you're not worthy of love maybe you've been suffering with an ailment and you feel that God has forgotten you but the truth is this you are worth everything in the eyes of Jesus and he wants what is best for you listen to John 3 1. from the Amplified Bible see what an incredible quality of love the father has shown to us that we would be permitted to be named and called and counted the children of God and so we are for this reason the world does not know us because it did not know him God calls us his children so that we can get a glimpse an idea of what our relationship with him should be truth is there's no way we can totally grasp just how much he loves each of us it's too vast and wide it's immeasurable unchanging never ending did you hear that never ending he will always love you we are all so precious to him Webster's Dictionary defines the word precious as something of great value not to be wasted or treated carelessly that's how God views you you have value you are not to be wasted or treated carelessly maybe you feel like you've done so many wrong things in your life that God doesn't love you I couldn't be more wrong God loves you so much that he sent his son Jesus to die for you perhaps you've seen the verse John 3 16 on a sign in the end zone of a football game along the side of the road on a billboard but let's take a closer look at that verse in the New Living Translation for this is how God loved the world he gave his one and only son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life God did that for everyone meaning no matter what you've done in your life God still loves you so much sent his son to die for you you're precious to him Jesus loved telling stories in Luke 15 11-32 in the New Living Translation he tells the story of The Prodigal Son to demonstrate God's love for us even when you mess up in sin and don't feel worthy of God's love this story explains how God views you listen to this parable a man had two sons the younger son told his father I want my share of your estate now before you die so his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons a few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land and there he wasted all his money and wild living about the time his money ran out a Great Famine swept over the land and he began to starve he persuaded a local farmer to hire him and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs the young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him but no one gave him anything when he finally came to his senses he said to himself at home even the hired servants have food enough to spare and here I am dying of hunger I will go home to my father and say father I have sinned against both heaven and you and I'm no longer worthy of being called your son please take me on as a hired servant so he returned home to his father and while he was still a long way off his father saw him coming filled with love and compassion he ran to his son embraced him and kissed him his son said to him father I have sinned against both heaven and you and I am no longer worthy of being called your son but his father said to his servants quick bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet and kill the calf we have been fattening we must celebrate with a feast for the son of mine was dead and has now returned to life he was lost but now he is found so the party began meanwhile the older son was in the fields working when he returned home he heard music and dancing in the house and he asked one of the servants what was going on your brother is back he was told and your father has killed the fattened calf we are celebrating because of his safe return the older brother was angry and wouldn't go in his father came out and begged him but he replied all these years have slaved for you and never once refused to do a single thing you told me to do and in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends yet when this son of yours comes back after squandering your money on prostitutes you celebrate by killing the fattened calf his father said to him dear son you've always stayed with me and everything I have is yours we had to celebrate this happy day for your brother was dead and has come back to life he was lost but now he is found God is telling you right now that he loves you you are so precious to him no matter how much you've sinned God is still waiting for you to come back to him now sleep in confidence knowing that you are loved and are precious to God let's pray oh dear father thank you for loving us thank you for your grace and mercy I ask now that you would come and comfort your child as they sleep tonight may the Lord bless them and protect them may the Lord smile on them and be gracious to them may the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace amen rest in his loving arms this series called I am is written to offer you thoughtful affirmations and reminders of who you are in Christ tonight we will affirm the promise that you are loved you might struggle to believe that you are loved by God might be because of something in your past or something that was spoken to you by someone else you might come from a combination of several things that lead you to believe and feel discouraged and heartbroken but God's word affirms and reminds you that you are loved you are deeply loved by a god who Delights in you before we begin our story make sure you are comfortable and in a comfortable position rest your head on your pillow and let the weight of your shoulders and body fully sink into your bed take a slow deep breath pausing slightly before exhaling as you exhale say I am loved close your eyes and let your mind slow down this day is over and the time has come for you to rest and be refreshed in the love of God Psalm 127 says it is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest eating the bread of anxious toil for he gives to his beloved sleep this night of sleep is God's good gift to you receive it from him your heavenly father thank you for the good gift of sleep thank you for your beloved child and for another day that you have given them to live and work and play as they lay down to sleep tonight I pray for peaceful presence your peaceful presence would rest upon them may they sense and know your nearness as they are reminded of the deep love that you have for them may they find Rest In Your Arms Lord God and may this night's sleep refresh them for all you have in store for them tomorrow thank you so much dear God for your unfailing love amen the Apostle Paul knew firsthand just how powerful the love of Christ was for much of his life he found himself on the opposite side of Grace he didn't affirm Jesus as the Messiah and opposed anyone who did for years and years he positioned himself against the followers of Jesus but then one day everything changed no matter what your background is you can find Hope in God you can be restored as a beloved child of God and spend all the rest of your days living in the reality you are loved you are loved by God [Music] Paul went on to write a number of letters to various groups of people who belong to the family of God in one of those letters he gives a reminder of God's great love Romans 8 35 and 37-39 in the New Living Translation says can anyone ever separate us from Christ's love does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or Calamity or are persecuted or hungry or destitute or endanger or threatened with death no despite all these things overwhelming Victory Is Ours through Christ who loves us and I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love neither death nor life neither angels nor demons neither our fears for today or our worries about tomorrow not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love no power in the sky above or in the earth below indeed nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our lord God's love for you is irrevocably confirmed you could search the world from top to bottom and you would never find a single thing that could separate you from the love of God but sometimes it might feel like his love has left you might feel like you've been left right now you might be desperate for a reminder that God's love will never fail imagine that you decided to go looking for evidence God's love had left you like an explorer from Days of old you pack up for an expedition [Music] surely God's love isn't always there so you grab a backpack from the closet and Pat it down a few times to remove the Dust smells musty after months untouched in the back of the closet unzip it to fill it with the Necessities for a long trip you grab a compass from the shelf and put it in the bag next you add a map a water bottle snacks and a jacket grab a notebook and Pen to keep track of the things you come across lace up your boots and prepare for the long journey ahead of you you head out the door and instantly feel the heat on your face the warmth of the Summer Sun beats down on you but the promise that God's love is always there no matter what just seems too good to be true so this is a journey you must take you have to find out if the words of the Apostle Paul that nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate you from the love of God is really true so off you go pull the map out of your musty backpack to see what your first stop will be when you unfold your map you find that your path has already been traced out you identify your spot on the map and find your first stop trouble and calamity as you walk toward trouble and Calamity you remember the struggles you encountered and the pain you endured did that mean God's love had run out but as you pass trouble and calamity looking at the various moments held here remember the ways that God was present in your pain despite all this overwhelming victory was ours through Christ who loves you his love hadn't left he was faithful even then you are loved by God as you leave trouble in calamity continue your journey under the bright hot sun you feel the exhaustion as you walk but you find the resolve to continue as you look to the map you see the next stop is persecution was it here that God's love ran out you wonder as you continue walking was it in the midst of hostility or ill treatment that you were separated from God's love though the pain of words spoken by those persecutors stung you remember the way God's love brought you comfort in the midst of the hurt despite all this overwhelming victory was yours through Christ who loves you his love hadn't left he was faithful even then you are loved by God sweat drips down your forehead and your feet ache from the journey as you continue to walk you notice a breeze that begins to stir shaking the leaves of the trees that line that street you notice the Petals of the trees blowing off and falling to the ground the breeze is a welcome reprieve but as you look to the sky notice the dark clouds moving in unable to turn back you carry on pull the map out yet again and find the next stop is hunger and destitution you shove the map back into your pack questioning why you began this journey in the first place and just as you begin to wonder if it was here that God's love left you you feel a raindrop on your face one drop quickly turns to many and you're now walking through the rain as the rain falls you remember the stress and strain during a season of hunger and destitution but God's love left you then is that why you struggled despite the struggle you remember the ways in which God provided he was near to you in the midst of your loss despite all this overwhelming victory was yours through Christ who loves you his love hadn't left he was faithful even then you are loved by God your final stop is further down the way you walk the winding paths in the fading rain wondering if it's here that you will learn that God's love had left your final stop is danger and death you remember the moments where fear or anxiety were present and your suffering felt overwhelming yet even in the midst of danger and the threat of death you Remember The Nearness of God despite all this overwhelming victory was yours through Christ who loves you is love hadn't left he was faithful even then you are loved by God tucking the map away in your pack turn back toward home through it all you are reminded of God's kindness and Grace you have seen his faithfulness and feel the depth of his love convinced that nothing could ever separate you from God's love neither death nor life neither angels nor demons neither your fears for today nor your worries for tomorrow not even the powers of hell can separate you from God's love no power in the sky above or in the earth below indeed nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate you the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our lord love hasn't left he was faithful even in the pain you are loved by God I am loved I am loved I am loved by God may you rest tonight convinced that nothing can ever separate you from God's love no matter where your journey takes you nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate you from the love of God that has revealed in Christ Jesus our lord may God bless you as you sleep may you be filled with the comfort of his love and as it says in second Corinthians 13 13. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all amen rest well in the presence of God tonight as you sleep remembering as you dream that you are deeply loved by God [Music] I am precious in His sight bedtime stories are designed to remind you as you fall asleep of who God is and who you are in light of that this series called I am is written to offer thoughtful affirmations and reminders of who you are in Christ simple statements that allow your heart to remember and affirm what is most true may you rest peacefully as you are reminded tonight that you are so very in the eyes of God tonight you will hear the affirmation I am precious in His sight and you will be reminded of the great love that God has for you you are not in oversight or a mistake you are called child by the god of the universe and you are precious in His sight before you listen to tonight's story take a moment to get comfortable adjust your shoulders and settle into your bed close your eyes and take a long deep breath breathe in slowly through your nose taking several seconds to fill your lungs with air now slowly release your breath through your mouth taking several seconds again to Exhale let your body slow down as you slow your rhythm of breath today is over let your mind rest knowing that all that could be done today is done tomorrow you will wake for a new day but tonight let there be peace Heavenly Father we come to you to find rest tonight as your child lays down to sleep may you grant them the gift of peace and contentment your child is so precious in your sight remind them dear God just how precious that you are and that they are to you protect them from fear or anxiety cover their mind in peace Christ's name we pray amen as you fall asleep let your mind drift off with this affirmation [Music] I am precious in his sight you are indeed so precious in His sight first John chapter 3 in the message translation the Apostle John writes these stunning words what marvelous love the father has extended to us just look at it we're called children of God that's who we really are you are called a child of God because of the great love that God expressed through Jesus and because you are loved by the god of the universe you are most certainly precious you are precious in His sight imagine that you have been invited to the home of a dear friend for dinner when you arrive you park in a familiar spot under the big oak tree that hangs over the street you step out of the car and walk up the stone path toward the door admire the bright pink Azalea and the soft yellow buttercup flowers that fill the Garden in front of the porch you see the white jasmine mixed among the pink and yellow but you know that Jasmine couldn't be missed with the strong lovely smell as you approach the front door you hear a stirring inside the door opens before you have a chance to knock and you are greeted by friends who are more like family as you walk inside hugging them tightly you see the Joy on your friend's face as you know she has something to tell you she leads you into the living room where you notice a hutch that has been arranged differently than the last time you were over for dinner you notice something on the hutch illuminated with a backlight on the center Shelf as you walk closer you see an incredible elegant vase the cobalt blue and Rich gold stands out against the emerald green and Rich burgundy Floral Design is Regal yet simple it's beautiful it's ornate and it's treated with such care because of just how very precious and special the vase is you learn that your friend inherited this precious heirloom it has been passed from generation to generation and now it's hers [Music] she tells you how special this piece has been to her family for so many years and you begin to understand the elaborate setup on the hutch what else could you do with something so special something that has been beloved endear for Generations ought to be treasured and treated with great care yet a vase A simple piece of decor no matter how antique and special hails in comparison to how incredibly precious you are in God's eyes you are precious in His sight but marvelous love the father has extended to us just look at it we're called children of God that's who we really are [Music] God's love for you did not settle with salvation though that would have been enough even more than that he delighted to call you his child and like a good good parent he looks on his children as the most precious things in all the world you are precious in his sight you walk away from the hutch with your friend who leads you to the sofa just a few feet away as you sit down you glance back at the vase and imagine what it would be like to be as cherished and protected as that to be cherished in a way that sets you apart and shines light on your unique nature to be set on a platform simply because your great worth leads others to notice that something is different it makes you different is that you are a child of God your accomplishments and Rewards don't make you valuable you are precious because you are a child of God is Love Changes Everything you are precious in his sight it may seem simply unbelievable that you could ever be that cherished you may scoff at the very thought of being highlighted or set apart and looked at and yet the joy of Christ making you new is that you are truly undeniably so incredibly loved you are cherished by God who calls you his child you are set apart and like the vase with the light shining upon it so that the Light of Christ shines in you Jesus once said you are the light of the world a city on a hill cannot be hidden let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in Heaven in Christ God has restored and renewed you because of the love he has you're so precious [Music] he made a way for you to be his and when God redeemed you in Christ he did not just redeem you from your sins he made you as child he brought you into his family with all the rights and privileges of a child the ornate elaborate vase that you admired in your friend's living room is an heirloom that is indeed special but even more precious than an heirloom you his child are an air not just a thing that has passed on from one to another you are in the very lineage of God's royal family you are precious in his sight what marvelous love the father has extended to us just look at it we're called children of God that's who we really are and all the noise of a busy bustling confusing world may you find rest in your identity as a child of the most high God may you see yourself with more value than an heirloom positioned With Honor on a Shelf may you see yourself as one beloved by God you are precious in his sight you are so very precious in His sight as you fall asleep tonight May the truths of God's word the reminder of his great love for you allow you to sleep in peace you are more precious to God than any Earthly possession that you prize more precious than any Jewel may you find rest deeply in God's loving arms receive this benediction from Romans 15 13. May the god of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in Hope you are precious in His sight may your dreams be sweet and may you wake in the morning reminded of his great love foreign take a few deep breaths [Music] in and out feel your muscles relax and all the tension leave your body as you inhale and exhale invite the Holy Spirit to be with you tonight feel his presence cover you as you wait for sleep to come let go of all other thoughts as you focus only on the presence of the Lord in his gift of sleep to you perhaps you've never thought of sleep as a gift from God but it is it is a beautiful gift of peace and rest that comes from the hand of the father let that sink into your mind for several moments now let's unwrap the gift of sleep tonight imagine beautifully wrapped package handed to you by your loving creator he encourages you to untie the ribbon and just let it fall away he guides you to remove the wrapping and set it aside he waits patiently as you open the box to discover a beautiful gift the gift of sleep spend a few Quiet Moments embracing this gift with a heart of thankfulness to the one who loves you and cares about you please let me pray over you tonight thank you good father for the gift of sleep thank you for knowing just what your beloved child needs at the end of a long day help them release every worry and concern to you tonight please cover them with your peace and protection so they can fully relax and find true rest in your presence I pray this in the precious name of your son Jesus amen sleep is the cessation of Labor it is the time of day that we let go of every unfinished task we surrender it to the hands of the father he will take care of it he will guard what we have committed to him take a moment to commit everything to God whatever remains undone it's okay Let It Go rest peacefully in the Savior tonight don't worry about a thing he's got this and he's got you often when sleep eludes us it's because we're holding on to the cares of this life we struggle to let go of them because we struggle to trust God we forget that God is the head of our households he is sovereign over us as the psalmist says in Psalm 127 unless the Lord builds the house those who build it labor in vain unless the Lord watches over the city The Watchman stays awake in vain dear one the Lord is watching over you tonight there is no need to stay awake with your worries or concerns for the Lord does not slumber nor sleep he will keep watch over you rest in that comforting thought for several moments the psalmist goes on to say that it is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night anxiously working for food to eat for God gives rest to his loved ones God gives rest to his loved ones you are loved by God he has given you the gift of sleep it overtakes you from head to toe you feel your whole body relax you close your eyes and take a deep breath in and slowly let it out what beautiful gifts our father gives to those he loves assurance peace relaxation security can sleep Embrace his gift of sleep tonight as I pray let it become the prayer of your heart Heavenly Father thank you for your gift of sleep and what a precious gift it is I am so thankful for your presence tonight Your Love comforts me your gift of sleep restores me thank you Lord I believe you are sovereign over all things over my life my work and my rest I release all of my anxieties to you thank you so much for gifting me with peace and rest tonight in Jesus name amen now sink your head deeper into the pillow pull the covers around you allow your breathing to fall into a steady rhythm in and out in and out feel the gift of sleep envelop you like a soft cocoon gently it wraps around you securing you in the loving arms of the father like the Cocoon of a butterfly sleep begins to encase you in soft silky warmth the strands of God's peace enclose you in the gentlest way possible for he is a gentle father kind and good from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet you feel safe guarded insecure rest in the security of God's love for several moments sleep is a gift for our bodies for it allows processing restoring and strengthening to take place as we drift through sleep cycles our minds are able to process the day's events we are able to organize information file it away and remember what is most important cell in our body benefits from sleep it rejuvenates us repairs our tissues and restores us from a long day of hard work oh what a beautiful gift from our heavenly father he knows just what our bodies need he created us he created sleep rest in that Assurance for a few moments not only do our physical bodies need sleep our Spirits need God's true rest in the book of Hebrews chapter 4 we read about God's promise of rest which comes through faith in Jesus Christ for we who have believed do enter that rest we believe we who Trust we who put our faith in the savior of our souls we enter God's promise of rest settle your heart on that promise for a few moments [Music] now please allow me to pray over you again Lord thank you for restoring your beloved one tonight every night as they sleep thank you for rejuvenating them you know just what they need you are good you are sovereign You Are Holy please allow true rest to come to your child tonight as they trust in you settle their minds repair their bodies and restore their hearts unto you thank you Lord in Jesus name amen breathe softly in and out [Music] inhale the sweet presence of the Lord he is with you exhale the remnants of a long day release it all to him hear the words of the psalmist again from psalm 127. a Psalm of Solomon it is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night anxiously working for food to eat for God gives rest to his loved ones now be assured that Rising early at the start of a new day ready to work with willing hands is a good thing however starting the day with an anxious heart isn't beneficial at all there is no need to be anxious there is no need to fret God is with you instead of rising early with burdens on your heart consider starting your morning with a quiet meditation let God's word be the first words you hear each day for his mercies are new every morning let his mercies flow over you now for several moments then As you move through your day no matter what comes you can recall the sweet words of wisdom you heard that morning in the quiet hour before anyone else was awake you heard from the God of all creation you can carry his word with you as a guide a comfort in a peaceful meditation at the end of the day resist the temptation to keep working and toiling Into the Night listen to the wise words of Solomon who said the Lord gives sleep to his beloved the Lord gives sleep to his beloved you are his beloved each evening carve out some time to be still before the Lord make room in your schedule to thank him for guiding you through the day invite his presence into your household ask him to cover you as you sleep then as you lay your head down for the night and pull the warm covers around you begin to unwrap God's Gift of sleep untie the ribbon of divine rest open the box and embrace the gift of true rest in the Lord his gift of sleep to you feel his peace in the room feel his presence surrounding you hear his words of comfort flow through you heart mind and soul [Music] inhale and exhale continue to breathe softly in and out as I say a prayer over you Heavenly Father in the name of your son Jesus I pray over this beloved one tonight I ask that you help them surrender their lives to you and receive the gift of true rest I pray that they find comfort and children with peace that passes all understanding you serve a God who cares for your every need he watches over you and protects you even when you forget he's there during the day he's directing your every step at night he's guiding your every breath he picks you up when you stumble he carries you when you can't go on no matter what you've done in the past or present he loves you and because of this you can rest peacefully through the night long ago King David wrote about the peace he enjoyed as he slept under the star-lit Skies of Jerusalem David knew that the enemies of Israel wanted him to fail but David also knew that the god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob was right there by his side this is what David wrote in Psalm chapter 4 verse 8. in peace I will lie down and sleep for you alone O Lord will keep me safe the same is true for you the God who watched over the greatest Earthly King in Israel's history is watching over you he's The all-powerful God Who created the mammals and the fish the mountains and the Seas the sun and the Stars merely by speaking and on the seventh day he rested sleep is a marvelous gift from a loving God it's a time to relax and recover and to rest in the arms of the God who made you it's a time to hand all your troubles to God and to receive all His blessings take a few moments now to make sure everything around you is just the way you want it for a great night's sleep the temperature the lights you're betting your pillow if you need to pause the story while I'm talking that's perfectly fine you can continue the story when you return stretch out your arms and your legs wiggle your fingers and your toes Revel in the sensation of your muscles finally getting a much deserved break take a deep relaxing breath hold it there for a moment now exhale continue breathing slowly and deeply as you hand all your troubles to God all of them is all power all loving he's The Sovereign God who Reigns over every area of your life hand him whatever you're thinking about your work your school your home life he created everything in this vast universe he knows the number of hairs on your head and grains of sand on the beach he takes care of his creation he redeems he restores he will take care of you as you lie in bed open the palms of your hands and accept God's perfect peace imagine it's flooding all over you it's been a long day and you've probably looked forward to this moment it's finally here you don't have to think about the things of this world right now you can unwind as you rest in God's promises as you fall asleep in the loving arms of your savior it passes all understanding is yours the god of the universe is present with you right now dear father thank you for this child of yours thank you for creating them loving them and taking care of them I pray now that they will sense your presence and your peace in a mighty way I pray that they will know you are watching over them and protecting them father I thank you for their many blessings thank you for their gifts and talents thank you for drawing them to yourself tonight and for giving them a heart for you created them for a purpose and you have a special plan for them in your kingdom thank you for giving this child a Time [Music] to rest in the Assurance of your joy your patience your peace I ask that you will bless them throughout the night grant them sweet dreams help them to wake up refreshed and rejuvenated ready to serve you another day I know they are safe in The Loving Arms of the Savior who never sleeps nor slumbers who was always protecting the ones he loves amen you can have peace throughout the night because God is sovereign he opposes the wicked and the proud he stands firm against evil tyrants and corrupt Nations yet he upholds and protects his children he's protecting you God is like a loving Shepherd watching over and guarding his sheep he never falls asleep he never looks away he's always on guard on the lookout as his children rest comfortably throughout the night God is present everywhere and he's present right here with you long ago the ancient Israelites sang about the peace they experienced because of God's Sovereign protection over them enemies surrounded ancient Israel yet God's people knew that the king of the universe was on their side God is on your side too the Israelites song is found in the ninth chapter of the book of Psalms it's easy to imagine thousands of God's children gathered in and around the temple singing these words with all their might hands lifted High picture it I will give thanks to you Lord with all my heart I will tell of all your wonderful Deeds I will be glad and rejoice in you I will sing the Praises of your name O most high my enemies turn back they stumble and perish before you for you have upheld my right and my cause sitting enthroned as the righteous judge you have rebuked the Nations and destroyed the wicked you have blotted out their name forever endeavor endless ruin has overtaken my enemies you have uprooted their cities even the memory of them has perished the Lord reigns forever he has established his throne for judgment he rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed a stronghold in times of trouble those who know your name rest in you for you Lord have never forsaken those who seek you sing the Praises of the Lord enthroned in Zion Proclaim among the Nations what he has done for He Who avenges blood remembers he does not ignore the cries of The Afflicted the Lord is known by his acts of Justice the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands the wicked go down to the realm of the Dead all the nations that forget God but God will never forget the needy the hope of The Afflicted will never perish the peace that the Israelites experienced is the same peace that God is granting you tonight it's a peace that is possible because of God's Sovereign care for you he loves you no matter what you've done he protects you no matter where you go this peace is possible because of God's power he decides when nations rise and fall he controls the Seas he guides the wind nothing happens on this Earth without his permission he is the Lord over all creation and the Lord over your life too you can sleep tonight in peace because the god of sleep is with you he created sleep for your good and for his glory King David often sang about God's power and God's peace David knew that the power of God was the reason he could sleep peacefully through the night David sang about it in Psalm chapter 29. it was a song that reminded the Israelites of God's strength and God's care for them it was a song that reminded the Israelites that God was on their side rest peacefully as I read this comforting psalm Thrive to the Lord you any beings ascribe to the Lord glory and strength ascribe to the Lord the glory do his name Worship the Lord and the Splendor of his holiness the voice of the Lord is over the waters the god of Glory Thunders the Lord Thunders over the mighty Waters the voice of the Lord is powerful the voice of the Lord is majestic the voice of the Lord breaks the Cedars the Lord breaks in pieces The Cedars of Lebanon he makes Lebanon leap like a calf Syrian like a young wild ox the voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning the voice of the Lord shakes the desert the Lord shakes the desert of Kadesh the voice of the Lord twists The Oaks and strips the forest's bare and in his Temple all cry Glory the Lord sits enthroned over the flood the Lord is enthroned as king forever the Lord gives strength to his people the Lord blesses his people with peace let me pray over you dear father you are the God of Peace you are the God of all things that are good your creation testifies to your glory and your loving kindness thank you for this child of yours thank you for giving them this time to rest and to recover thank you for this time they had with you and thank you for the gift of sleep father I pray blessings on them tonight grant them sweet dreams about you help them to wake up refreshed in Jesus name I pray amen in The Lord of Peace you he will never abandon you he will always be right there right by your side for tonight's story we'll travel through the Psalms as we explore the many facets of God's love it's a love that pursues us and for gifts it's a love that protects and provides prepare to relax unwind and fall peacefully to sleep in the arms of your creator the lover of your soul as you prepare for a night of restful sleep Begin by making sure everything around you is just the way you want it your pillow your sheet your blanket the temperature even the lights if you need to walk around your room for a moment feel free to hit pause on the app you can pick up right where you left off when you return once you have everything ready and once you're relaxing snugly in your bed then Begin by handing all your troubles to God is The Sovereign creator of the heavens and the Earth he can care for your every need let him do that tonight for you in return accept his perfect peace and his perfect patience time to relax inhaling the very peace of God hold your breath for a Split Second now breathe out as you exhale picture yourself handing anything to God that is still lingering in your mind hand him your thoughts from work from your family life from school ensure that your only thoughts are on God is love for you and the peace he's giving you for a restful night's sleep all day long you've looked forward to this moment of quiet Stillness that time has come let me pray for you father thank you for this child of God thank you for the many blessings in their life food or dwelling their friends and their family thank you for the many things we often Overlook for a bed to sleep in and a pillow to lay our head on thank you most of all for your love father draw this child of yours close to you tonight stretch your arms around them and help them feel your warm embrace grant them your perfect peace I ask that you will watch over and protect them bless them with sweet dreams father help their aching body relax unwind and recover I ask that they will wake up in the morning with energy and purpose ready to serve in your kingdom another day I pray the words of Psalm 4 verse 8 on this child of yours imagine the Israelites gathered together in Solomon's Temple men and women young and old alike smiling and singing praises to the Lord hands lifted High as they thank God for his all-pursuing all protecting love the Lord is my shepherd I have all that I need he lets me rest in Green Meadows he leaves me beside peaceful streams he renews my strength he guides me along right paths bringing honor to his name even when I walk through the darkest Valley I will not be afraid for you are close beside me Your Rod and your staff protect and comfort me you prepare A Feast for me in the presence of my enemies you honor Me by anointing my head with oil my cup overflows with blessings surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life and I will live in the house of the know as Psalm 139 when the Israelites sang it they were reminded of God's creative love for each one of his children that very thought through the Israelites to worship oh Lord you have examined my heart and know everything about me you know when I sit down or stand up you know my thoughts even when I'm far away you see me when I travel and when I rest at home you know everything I do you know never escape from your spirit I can never get away from your presence if I go up to heaven you're there if I go down to the Grave you are there if I ride the wings of the morning if I dwell by the farthest oceans even there your hand will guide me then your strength will support me I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night but even in darkness I cannot hide all your diseases who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles the Lord Works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed he may known his ways to Moses his deeds to the people of Israel the Lord is compassionate and gracious slow to anger abounding in love he will not always accuse nor will he Harbor his anger forever he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities for as high as the heavens are above the Earth so great is his love for those who fear Him as far as the East is from the West so far has he removed our transgressions from us as a father has compassion on his children so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him for he knows how we are formed he remembers that we are dust the life of Mortals is like grass they flourish like a flower of the field the wind blows it over and it is gone in its place remembers it no more but from Everlasting to Everlasting the Lord's love is with those who fear Him and his righteousness with their children's children with those who keep his Covenant and remember to obey his precepts the Lord has established his throne in heaven and his kingdom rules overall praise the Lord you his angels you mighty ones who do his bidding who obey his word praise the Lord all his you are robed with honor and Majesty you are dressed in a robe of light you stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens you lay out the rafters of your home in the rain clouds you make the clouds your chariot you ride upon the wings of the Wind the winds are your Messengers flames of fire are your servants you placed the world on its foundation so it would never be moved you clothed the Earth with floods of water that covered even the mountains at your command the water fled at the sound of your thunder it hurried away mountains rows and valleys sank to the levels you decreed then you set a firm boundary for the Seas so that they would never again cover the Earth you make Springs pour water into The Ravines so streams gushed down from the mountains they provide water for all the animals and the wild donkeys quench their thirst the birds nest beside the streams and sing among the branches of the trees foreign you send rain on the mountains from your heavenly home and you fill the Earth with the fruit of your labor you cause grass to grow for the livestock in plants for people to use you allow them to produce food from the Earth wine to make them glad olive oil to soothe their skin in bread to give them strength the Lord takes pleasure in all he has made the Earth trembles at his glance the mountains smoke at his touch I will sing to the Lord as long as I live I will praise my God to my last breath may all my thoughts be pleasing to him for I rejoice in the Lord let all Sinners vanish from the face of the Earth let the wicked disappear forever let all that I am bumped into the sounds the smells the Dust the clamor every day it's the same you keep asking and begging for someone anyone to give you just a little bit of money so you can eat you hear no friendly words you feel no friendly touch in fact you can hear some talking about you unkindly maybe thinking because that you can't see you can't hear all of a sudden you hear someone Shout there he is everybody immediately starts to Surge toward this individual you have no idea who they're all wanting to see you try and ask people who is there but no one answers you then you hear someone say there's Jesus you've heard of this man his amazing teaching his miracles oh his miracles thought Blitz through your mind that maybe Jesus could help you now he's helped so many others but then reality sets in and The Hope drains from you you've been tossed aside so many times why would Jesus even pay any attention to you you just sit there try to listen to what's going on just then you hear someone call out to you hear that right did someone say your name and then then you hear it again softer closer gentler not since your father spoke to you as a child have you heard your name said in that way so so lovingly all other noise has stopped it's as if you're in a cave no one around you moves or speaks it's Jesus you don't know how you know but you know it's Jesus and he has found you you feel his hand on your forehead you you hear his gentle voice and all of a sudden the darkness that has always enveloped you starts to grow thinner light begins to break through in your eyes begin to focus and you find yourself looking directly into Jesus's eyes Jesus is looking directly at you and you feel more love coming from him than you have ever felt in your entire life imagine being blind your whole life and then miraculously being healed imagine being overlooked ridiculed and then suddenly loved Beyond Your Wildest imagination out of all the others on the street that day that he could have stopped for Jesus chose you maybe you felt the way that the blind man felt that people ignore you and you feel that you're not worthy of love maybe you've been suffering with an ailment and you feel that God has forgotten you but the truth is this you are worth everything in the eyes of Jesus and he wants what is best for you listen to John 3 1. from the Amplified Bible see what an incredible quality of love the father has shown to us that we would be permitted to be named and called and counted the children of God [Music] and so we are for this reason the world does not know us because it did not know him God calls us his children so that we can get a glimpse an idea of what our relationship with him should be truth is there's no way we can totally grasp just how much he loves each of us it's too vast and wide it's immeasurable unchanging never ending did you hear that never ending he will always love you we are all so precious to him Webster's Dictionary defines the word precious as something of great value not to be wasted or treated carelessly that's how God views you you have value you are not to be wasted or treated carelessly maybe you feel like you've done so many wrong things in your life that God doesn't love you I couldn't be more wrong God loves you so much that he sent his son Jesus to die for you perhaps you've seen the verse John 3 16 on a sign in the end zone of a football game along the side of the road on a billboard but let's take a closer look at that verse the New Living Translation for this is how God loved the world he gave his one and only son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life God did that for everyone meaning no matter what you've done in your life God still loves you so much that he sent his son to die for you you're precious to him Jesus loved telling stories in Luke 15 11-32 in the New Living Translation he tells the story of The Prodigal Son to demonstrate God's love for us even when you mess up in sin and don't feel worthy of God's love this story explains how God views you listen to this parable a man had two sons the younger son told his father I want my share of your estate now before you die so his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons a few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land and there he wasted all his money in Wild living about the time his money ran out a Great Famine swept over the land and he began to starve he persuaded a local farmer to hire him and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs the young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him but no one gave him anything when he finally came to his senses he said to himself at home even the hired servants have food enough to spare and here I am dying of hunger I will go home to my father and say father I have sinned against both heaven and you and I'm no longer worthy of being called your son please take me on as a hired servant so he returned home to his father and while he was still a long way off his father saw him coming filled with love and compassion he ran to his son embraced him and kissed him his son said to him father I have sinned against both heaven and you and I am no longer worthy of being called your son but his father said to his servants quick bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet and kill the calf we have been fattening we must celebrate with a feast for the son of mine was dead and has now returned to life he was lost but now he is found so the party began meanwhile the older son was in the fields working when he returned home he heard music and dancing in the house and he asked one of the servants what was going on your brother is back he was told and your father has killed the fattened calf we are celebrating because of his safe return the older brother was angry and wouldn't go in his father came out and begged him but he replied all these years have slaved for you and never once refused to do a single thing you told me to do and in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends yet when this son of yours comes back after squandering your money on prostitutes you celebrate by killing the fattened calf his father said to him look dear son you've always stayed with me and everything I have is yours we had to celebrate this happy day for your brother was dead and has come back to life he was lost but now he is found God is telling you right now that he loves you you are so precious to him no matter how much you've sinned God is still waiting for you to come back to him now sleep in confidence knowing that you are loved and are precious to God let's pray oh dear father thank you for loving us thank you for your grace and mercy I ask now that you would come and comfort your child as they sleep tonight may the Lord bless them and protect them may the Lord smile on them and be gracious to them may the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace amen now rest in his loving arms [Music] this series called I am is written because of something in your past or something that was spoken to you by someone else it might come from a combination of several things that lead you to believe and feel discouraged and heartbroken but God's word affirms and reminds you that you are loved you are deeply loved by a god who Delights in you before we begin our story make sure you are comfortable and in a comfortable position rest store for them tomorrow thank you so much dear God for your unfailing love amen the Apostle Paul knew firsthand just how powerful the love of Christ was for much of his life he found himself on the opposite side of Grace he didn't affirm Jesus as the Messiah and opposed anyone who did for years and years he positioned himself against the followers of Jesus but then one day everything changed no matter what your background is you can find Hope in God you can be restored as a beloved child of God and spend all the rest of your days living in the reality you are loved you are loved by God Paul went on to write a number of letters to various groups of people who belong to the family of God in one of those letters he gives a reminder of God's great love Romans 8 35 and 37-39 in the New Living Translation says can anyone ever separate us from Christ's love does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or Calamity or are persecuted or hungry or destitute or in danger or threatened with death [Music] no despite all these things overwhelming Victory Is Ours through Christ who loves us and I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love neither death nor life neither angels nor demons neither are fears for today or our worries about tomorrow not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love no power in the sky above or in the earth below indeed nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord God's love for you is irrevocably confirmed you could search the world from top to bottom and you would never find a single thing that could separate you from the love of God sometimes it might feel like his love has left you you might feel like you've been left right now you might be desperate for a reminder that God's love will never fail imagine that you decided to go looking for evidence that God's love had left you like an explorer from Days of old you pack up for an expedition surely God's love isn't always there you think so you grab a backpack from the closet and Pat it down a few times to remove the Dust smells musty after months untouched in the back of the closet unzip it to fill it with the Necessities for a long trip you grab a compass from the shelf and put it in the bag next you add a map a water bottle snacks and a jacket grab a notebook and Pen to keep track of the things you come across lace up your boots and prepare for the long journey ahead of you you head out the door and instantly feel the heat on your face the warmth of the Summer Sun beats down on you but the promise that God's love is always there no matter what just seems too good to be true so this is a journey you must take you have to find out if the words of the Apostle Paul that nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate you from the love of God is really true so off you go you pull the map out of your musty backpack to see what your first stop will be when you unfold your map you find that your path has already been traced out you identify your spot on the map and find your first stop this trouble and calamity as you walk toward trouble and Calamity you remember the struggles you encountered and the pain you endured did that mean God's love had run out but as you pass trouble and calamity looking at the various moments held here remember the ways that God was present in your pain despite all this overwhelming victory was ours through Christ who loves you his love hadn't left he was faithful even then you are loved by God as you leave trouble in calamity continue your journey under the bright hot sun you feel the exhaustion as you walk but you find the resolve to continue as you look to the map you see the next stop is persecution was it here that God's love ran out you wonder as you continue walking was it in the midst of hostility or ill treatment that you were separated from God's love though the pain of word spoken by those persecutors stung you remember the way God's love brought you comfort in the midst of the hurt despite all this overwhelming victory was yours through Christ who loves you his love hadn't left he was faithful even then you are loved by God sweat drips down your forehead and your feet ache from the journey as you continue to walk you notice a breeze that begins to stir shaking the leaves of the trees that lie in that street you notice the Petals of the trees blowing off and falling to the ground the breeze is a welcome reprieve but as you look to the sky notice the dark clouds moving in unable to turn back you carry on you pull the map out yet again and find the next stop is hunger and destitution shove the map back into your pack questioning why you began this journey in the first place just as you begin to wonder if it was here that God's love left you you feel a raindrop on your face one drop quickly turns to many and you're now walking through the rain as the rain falls you remember the stress and strain during a season of hunger and destitution that God's love left you then is that why you struggled despite the struggle you remember the ways in which God provided he was near to you in the midst of your loss despite all this overwhelming victory was yours through Christ who loves you his love hadn't left he was faithful even then you are loved by God your final stop is further down the way you walk the winding paths in the fading rain wondering if it's here that you will learn that God's love had left your final stop is danger and death you remember the moments where fear or anxiety were present and your suffering felt overwhelming yet even in the midst of danger and the threat of death you Remember The Nearness of God despite all this overwhelming victory was yours through Christ who loves you is love hadn't left he was faithful even then you are loved by God tucking the map away in your pack turn back toward home through it all you are reminded of God's kindness and Grace you have seen his faithfulness and feel the depth of his love convinced that nothing could ever separate you from God's love neither death nor life neither angels nor demons neither your fears for today nor your worries for tomorrow not even the powers of hell can separate you from God's love no power in the sky above or in the earth below indeed nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate you from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our lord his love hasn't left he was faithful even in the pain you are loved by God I am loved I am loved I am loved by God may you rest tonight convinced that nothing can ever separate you from God's love no matter where your journey takes you nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate you from the love of God that has revealed in Christ Jesus our lord may God bless you as you sleep may you be filled with the comfort of his love and as it says in second Corinthians 13 13. the Apostle John writes these stunning words but marvelous love the father has extended to us just look at it we're called children of God that's who we really are you are called a child of God because of the great love that God expressed through Jesus and because you are loved by the god of the universe you are most certainly precious you are precious in His sight imagine that you have been invited to the home of a dear friend for dinner when you arrive you park in a familiar spot under the big oak tree that hangs over the street you step out of the car and walk up the stone path toward the door admire the bright pink Azalea and the soft yellow buttercup flowers that fill the Garden in front of the porch you see the white jasmine mixed among the pink and yellow but you know the Jasmine couldn't be missed with the strong lovely smell as you approach the front door you hear a stirring inside the door opens before you have a chance to knock and you are greeted by friends who are more like family as you walk inside hugging them tightly you see the Joy on your friend's face as you know she has something to tell you she leads you into the living room where you notice a hutch that has been arranged differently than the last time you were over for dinner you notice something on the hutch illuminated with a backlight on the center Shelf as you walk closer you see an incredible elegant vase the cobalt blue and Rich gold stands out against the emerald green and Rich burgundy the floral design is Regal yet simple it's beautiful it's ornate and it's treated with such care because of just how very precious and special the vase is you learn that your friend inherited this precious heirloom it has been passed from generation to generation and now it's hers she tells you how special this piece has been to her family for so many years and you begin to understand the elaborate setup on the hutch what else could you do with something so special something that has been beloved and dear for Generations ought to be treasured and treated with great care yet a vase A simple piece of decor no matter how antique and special pales in comparison to how incredibly precious you are in God's eyes you are precious in His sight but marvelous love the father has extended to us just look at it we're called children of God that's who we really are God's love for you did not settle with salvation though that would have been enough even more than that he delighted to call you his child and like a good good parent he looks on his children as the most precious things in all the world you are precious in his sight you walk away from the hutch with your friend who leads you to the sofa just a few feet away as you sit down you glance back at the vase and imagine what it would be like to be as cherished and protected as that to be cherished in a way that sets you apart and shines light on your unique nature to be set on a platform simply because your great worth leads others to notice that something is different what makes you different is that you are a child of God your accomplishments and Rewards don't make you valuable you are precious because you are a child of God is Love Changes Everything you are precious in his sight it may seem simply unbelievable that you could ever be that cherished you may scoff at the very thought of being highlighted or set apart and looked at and yet the joy of Christ making you new is that you are truly undeniably so incredibly loved you are cherished by God who calls you his child you are set apart and like the vase with the light shining upon it so that the Light of Christ shines in you Jesus once said you are the light of the world a city on a hill cannot be hidden let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in Heaven [Music] in Christ God has restored and renewed you because of the love he has you're so precious he made a way for you to be his when God redeemed you in Christ he did not just redeem you from your sins he made you his child he brought you into his family with all the rights and privileges of a child the ornate elaborate vase that you admired in your friend's living room is an heirloom that is indeed special but even more precious than an heirloom you his child are an air not just a thing that is passed on from one to another you unwrap the gift of sleep tonight imagine beautifully wrapped package handed to you by your loving creator he encourages you to untie the ribbon and just let it fall away he guides you to remove the wrapping and set it aside he waits patiently as you open the box to discover a beautiful gift the gift of sleep spend a few Quiet Moments embracing this gift with a heart of thankfulness to the one who loves you and cares about you please let me pray over you tonight thank you good father for the gift of sleep thank you for knowing just what your beloved child needs at the end of a long day help them release every worry and concern to you tonight please cover them with your peace and protection so they can fully relax and find true rest in your presence I pray this in the precious name of your son Jesus amen sleep is the cessation of Labor it is the time of day that we let go of every unfinished task we surrender it to the hands of the father he will take care of it he will guard what got you often when sleep eludes us it's because we're holding on to the cares of this life we struggle to let go of them because we struggle to trust God we forget that God is the head of our households he is sovereign over us as the psalmist says in Psalm 127 unless the Lord builds the house those who build it labor in vain unless the Lord watches over the city The Watchman stays awake in vain dear one the Lord is watching over you tonight there is no need to stay awake with your worries or concerns for the Lord does not slumber nor sleep he will keep watch over you rest in that comforting thought for several moments the psalmist goes on to say that it is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night anxiously working for food to eat for God gives rest to his loved ones God gives rest to his loved ones you are loved by God he has given you the gift of sleep it overtakes you from head to toe you feel your whole body relax close your eyes and take a deep breath in slowly let it out what beautiful gifts our father gives to those he loves assurance peace relaxation security can sleep Embrace his gift of sleep tonight as I pray let it become the prayer of your heart Heavenly Father thank you for your gift of sleep what a precious gift it is I am so thankful for your presence tonight Your Love comforts me your gift of sleep restores me thank you Lord I believe you are sovereign over all things over my life my work and my rest I release all of my anxieties to you thank you so much for gifting me with peace and rest tonight in Jesus name amen now sink your head deeper into the pillow pull the covers around you allow your breathing to fall into a steady rhythm in in and out in and out feel the gift of sleep envelop you like a soft cocoon gently it wraps around you curing you in the loving arms of the father like the Cocoon of a butterfly sleep begins to encase you in soft silky warmth the strands of God's peace enclose you in the gentlest way possible for he is a gentle father kind and good from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet you feel safe guard it and secure rest in the security of God's love for several moments sleep is a gift for our bodies for it allows processing restoring and strengthening to take place as we drift through sleep cycles our minds are able to process the day's events we are able to organize information pile it away and remember what is most important cell in our body benefits from sleep it rejuvenates us repairs our tissues and restores us from a long day of hard work oh what a beautiful gift from our heavenly father he knows just what our bodies need he created us he created sleep rest in that Assurance for a few moments foreign not only do our physical bodies need sleep our Spirits need God's true rest in the book of Hebrews chapter 4 we read about God's promise of rest which comes through faith in Jesus Christ for we who have believed do enter that rest [Music] we who believe we who Trust we who put our faith in the savior of our souls we enter God's promise of rest settle your heart on that promise for a few moments foreign please allow me to pray over you again Lord thank you for restoring your beloved one tonight every night as they sleep thank you for rejuvenating them you know just what they need you are good you are sovereign You Are Holy please allow true rest to come to your child tonight as they trust in you settle their minds repair their bodies and restore their hearts unto you thank you Lord in Jesus name amen breathe softly in thank new day ready to work with willing hands is a good thing however starting the day with an anxious heart isn't beneficial at all there is no need to be anxious there is no need to fret God is with you instead of rising early with burdens on your heart consider starting your morning with a quiet meditation let God's word be the first words you hear each day for his mercies are new every morning let his mercies flow over you now for several moments [Music] then As you move through your day no matter what comes you can recall the sweet words of wisdom you heard that morning in the quiet hour before anyone else was awake you heard from the God of all creation you can carry his word with you as a guide comfort in a peaceful meditation at the end of the day resist the temptation to keep working and toiling Into the Night listen to the wise words of Solomon who said the Lord gives sleep to his beloved the Lord gives sleep to his beloved you are his beloved each evening carve out some time to be still before the Lord make room in your schedule to thank him for guiding you through the day invite his presence into your household ask him to cover you as you sleep then as you lay your head down for the night and pull the warm covers around you begin to unwrap God's Gift of sleep untie the ribbon of divine rest open the box and embrace the gift of true rest in the Lord his gift of sleep to you feel his peace in the room feel his presence surrounding you hear his words of comfort flow through you heart mind and soul inhale and exhale continue to breathe softly in in and out as I say a prayer over you Heavenly Father in the name of your son Jesus I pray over this beloved one tonight I ask that you help them surrender their lives to you and receive the gift of true rest I pray that they find comfort and peace in your presence please help them let go of anything that is on their mind or heart tonight thank you for loving them thank you for watching over them and thank you
