want to stay updated on all our videos click the subscribe button click the bell button that's it okay so the colors being used in this video will be the brick built rich bright gold brick built purple passion brick built plum violet brick built pure black and the casting craft white all of these colors can be purchased on my website brickbuilt.com except the cast and craft white you can get that from amazon so i poured some epoxy i mixed some epoxy and i poured it um all over the board just some clear epoxy and now i'm taking my torch and all of these um items that i'm using like my torches and everything can be purchased from amazon everything will be in the description um i'm popping bubbles and warming up the epoxy on the board so right here i'm putting down the black and the base of this will be black so i'm putting black all over the bottom and i'm taking the stick and um smoothing it smoothing the black all over the base of this board now i'm taking my heat gun and i'm going over the black making sure it's smooth making sure it's bubble free and make sure it's level now here i'm putting purple down then i'm putting some white and i'm taking my heat gun again and pushing some of the purple over the white now i'm taking some of the plum violet and i'm putting some lines of that and i'm putting some more lines of the purple and i'm getting my heat gun again and pushing the colors over each other you don't want to play around with the colors too much with the heat gun because next thing you know you have a big mess like the colors being blended too much and i don't like to blend my colors too much and i don't like using a lot of white because white will completely take over and it won't look right at all trust me i've tried that and it didn't look right so um yeah be real light handy with that heat gun because you can end up keep messing with the colors and messing with the colors and they all run together and they don't look right at all so now i'm taking the gold and i'm doing some really thin strings of gold you don't want to use a lot of gold because gold will definitely take over your project so be real careful with the gold i'm giving it a little torch and next thing i'm going to add some silicone oil and i'm putting just small drips like really really small drops of silicone oil on the gold strings and it gives it a really nice effect now i'm taking my heat gun again and um stretching out some of that gold here here i'm adding some more black because i want black to be on the outer edges of this um table top so um i'm adding some more black to give it that negative effect now after my art has set for about i don't see 30 35 40 minutes i'll take the um tape from around it and let the um resin fall over the sides now you have to play around with when you do this because if the resin is still too thin and it's pouring off the side too quick then you're taking the tape off too soon so it usually i would say between 35 and 40 minutes you should be able after you finish doing the art you should be able to take the tape off and the resin should be able to pour over but really really slow now as the resin falls over the side i take my fingers and smooth it and make sure that you put the resin all over the sides now this is the very next day um i waited 24 hours it's hard now everything is cured i'm wiping it down with some 91 alcohol because i use silicone now if you're planning on putting another top coat or anything on this you're going to have to wipe it down with alcohol because silicone will sit there and it'll cause divots and fish eyes in your heart so make sure if you choose to use silicone you wipe it down really good before you pour anything else on top of it now here is my next coat um i'm putting a thin coat on here again clear resin and i'm gonna smooth it out with my fingers next what i'll do i'll take the heat gun like i always do make sure the bubbles are popped make sure i'm thinning out the resin to make it more liquidy and next what i'm going to do i'ma pour another set of colors i'm using the exact same colors i used the day before i'm using my purples my plum violet my pure black my rich bright gold and my cast and craft white and i'm doing another layer of colors so now here i am pushing the colors over each other with the heat gun okay so now i'm using more black for the sides to create that negative space and another thing that i do sometime is some of the colors that have fallen on the table i'll take my stick and pick it up and help cover the sides so don't be scared to pick up that color that's falling on the tables with some of the clear epoxy that i had left over i'm taking it and i'm pouring it on the sides now this is the next day when everything has hardened and i noticed that i still have some divots from the silicone oil so now i'm about to give it a hard sand and make sure i remove all of those divots silicone and everything so i had to get the heart sander out and i'm using a 220 grit sandpaper now i know you're probably wondering why is she doing this and let me explain i use silicone in the very first layer well the silicone it gives a really nice effect but also it can leave divots it can leave fish eyes in your artwork you can't see it on camera but in real life there's a lot of divots in my art so you have to decide whether silicone is right for you or not now would i change anything no i love using silicone but just know you're going to be doing extra extra work when you use silicone silicone and resin really don't mix at all so you have to be careful when you use it so this is why i'm having to do all of this extra work because i chose to use silicone so you have to decide silicone or no silicone now again i'm taking my alcohol 91 and i'm cleaning that off really really good you got to make sure you get all of that dust and grime off there even once you finish doing that i remove this table top off of the table and wipe the table down to the actual table because there was a lot of dust on the table you want to make sure you get all that dust off you don't want to leave anything on your art okay so i mixed more epoxy and i'm doing my final coat now once you get your last coat on your last and final coat make sure you have something to drape over your heart so no dust hairs insect flies you don't want anything to get in your final coat see the box behind me that box will fit over this table top so i'm gonna put this box over it and let it sit overnight you want to make sure all the bubbles are popped and make sure there's none absolutely none because this is the last coat after i finished torching it i'm gonna put the box on it and let it sit overnight and voila the next day look how gorgeous that is that shine that gloss look at that gold look how that gold is just floating oh my god this is the colors are so rich i am in love with this table top this table is for sale
