hey what's up everybody today we're going to  be cutting open porphyry it's these beautiful   rocks that have feldspar inclusions in them and  some of these like this one right here i think   it's potential to have some agate pockets going  on on the inside so this big guy right here you   can see these little white pockets those  look very much like little agate pockets   so we're going to start off small  work our way through the big ones   we're going to do together so let's cut these  open and see what's going on on the inside and our first cut looks like that that  is really pretty really really pretty all right moving on let's do this really  river burned chunk of porphryr to really   know if there is any agate pockets  in this one but again we'll cut it up oh that is really cool those crystals absolutely beautiful i'm wondering if these are  calcite pockets quartz pockets   or maybe a little agate going  on in there let's find out let's see what's inside this one do not believe that those are agate pockets i bet they're little quartz pockets   that's pretty cool though i love the  greens in there that's really neat   up next is this really really beautiful chunk of  porphryr i've got really great crystals in there   really really cool looking forward  to seeing what's going on inside this   we're going to cut it right  down the middle right there oh those are so fine that is so cool  almost looks like a possible little agate   pocket right there it's so small though cool cool this one i don't have a  ton of hope for i don't know if this   is even porphryr but we're gonna cut  it open we'll see what it looks like so here that one is that's really pretty i don't think that's the  porphyry that i'm used to finding a couple of   these look like possible crystals if you know  what this is exactly leave a comment let me know   i think it's really beautiful yeah here's  our next contestant that we're gonna cut   right down the middle right here kind  of take a this chunk off right here here we go that's pretty cool i just love the contrast  between the host rock and the orange feldspar   crystals so pretty that'd make a nice  little display piece if we polish that alrighty moving on to some of the  bigger ones we've got this guy   it's got great crystals in it though i'm gonna  cut it right along this spine right here so we'll see you when it's done and the inside of this one was not as  exciting as i'd hoped it's just mainly   because of the host it's like the host  rock kind of takes away from the contrast   making that orange pot the crystals are  great but this isn't funny you're just   kind of like oh the host isn't that  good it doesn't doesn't make it as   beautiful in my opinion so now we're moving  on to this guy right here let me get that wet you can see all these little white pockets all  over i hope they're a little bigger on the inside   so we're going to make two  cuts on it one like that   and one like that right there and  hopefully you'll find some agate   lake superior agate going on inside oh so excited  i've wanted to cut this one for a very long time have it look not gonna look gonna do it  together it's kind of weird as i came through   it felt like i was hitting some hard   hard spots because normally you just  burn through this material so i'm hoping   that there's some nodules that we cut through  and that's why i got so hard so let's see   no maybe it's just because there was so much  surface area to cut that was my second guess let me get that wet looks like right there  there's a tiny tiny tiny little nodule   ah let's hoping there'd be some bigger ones   it's still really pretty but yeah it's kind  of like the same thing that host rock kind of   muffles the crystals a little bit we'll cut it  one more time right here maybe we'll get lucky all right let's check this one out we got a couple little pockets there  i wouldn't say it's too impressive   but i had more hope for this one to be  honest but we are on to our last piece the crystals on this are very interesting  they're a little more spread out so i'm   thinking it'll be really cool on the inside  that one actually looks like a legit star   so we're going to cut this one the long way  it's probably going to take a little bit longer not sure if you could hear me we made it  we got through all those beautiful pieces   of porphryr let me set you up  we'll get some better light   we'll check out our last piece not gonna look i'm  just gonna rinse it so it's nice and clean for you well it's cool not my favorite it's  still really pretty though a little triangle right there little x well hey still cool that we're able to see inside  this i love porphyry it's one of my favorite   stones to find up here on the  north shore or rock hounding yeah pretty cool though this is all the  porphyry that we cut in this fun video   i hope you guys enjoyed it if you did do  me a huge favor hit that like button and   leave a comment let me know if you think  thank you guys so much for watching bye
