- Greetings Friends,
Michael here, And twice before
on my main channel, I have done Pokemon
play through challenges where I attempt to
beat Pokemon games without catching any Pokemon. Catching defined as throwing
a Pokeball at a Pokemon. All other obtainment methods, like gifts or trades
are fair game. It's been a while since
I did the last one. So I wanted to do it again. This time I'm doing
it in ultra moon. My first time playing
through a gen seven game, since Ultra Sun and
ultra Moon came out over three years ago. But instead of just
recording the footage by myself and then putting
it into a main channel video, I decided to make
it a mini series here on this channel first. Two or three episodes of
my entire play through, which I will then
make into one video for the main channel that
covers all the interest stuff. So don't forget to
subscribe to this channel because I bet a lot of
you are only subscribed to the main channel
and not this one. So you should do it and let's start to Ultra Moon
without catching any Pokemon. All right. So first big decision. My first Pokemon that I am
getting without catching it, I am going with Popplio. It's is not my
favorite of the three, but I believe it is the best
equipped for a play through. And since it's one
of the few Pokemon I'm actually going to be
able to get in this through, I needed to be the best. And the water and fairy
type combo is just, it's just so useful. I am naming it Fabio, because
once it is a pre Marina, it will have fabulously
long, just like Fabio. The guy who is on the
cover of those magazines and romance novels, and
such shout out to Fabio. Now it's got a
pretty good nature. Look at that! Attack
lowered special- that's wow- That's awesome. I'm very pleased with that. - Aha! It is I, Grunty Boy! And, wait your
outfits different. - Nevermind my
outfit, Grunty boy! What are you doing here? I didn't think you could
appear on this channel. - I'm expanding my brand. - Well, can you brand
expand somewhere else? Because I am in the
middle of playing a game. - Whew! Is it
Cookie Run Kingdom, the sponsor of today's video? - Well, no, but that
is a very fun game. - I know! I saw your video
where you were playing it and it looked so fun. Plus, I see that
you've been playing quite a bit since recording it. You've expanded your kingdom,
like I've expanded my brand. I myself have enjoyed
previous Cookie Run games. So it was really fun
to see the adorable and cool Cookie Run
characters in this new game. The RPG style
Cookie missions look wildly fun to bash
my way through, and I really want to
upgrade my cookies to make them stronger and get new
ones from the gotcha feature. - And your thoughts on the
kingdom building and expansion? - Oh, absolutely,
I'm a fan of that. I would love to relax by
constructing buildings after a long day of
breaking into them, I can design the layout
to be my perfect hideout away from hideout. - I'm guessing your favorite
cookie is Chili Pepper cookie. You know the one with
a strong affinity for stealing valuables? - Ah, yes. A cookie
after my own heart. - Well, clearly you've
already been convinced to play the game,
so why are you here? - To steal your phone so
I can hijack your account. - Of course you are. Okay, how about instead,
You just download the game using my custom link
in the description below? - Oh, huh. Your good ideas
are annoyingly frequent. - Why are my good
ideas annoying? - Because you came up
with them instead of me, but anyways, I'm off to go beat
up some cake monsters, Tata! - All right. And he's off. Well anyways, thanks
to Cookie Run Kingdom for sponsoring this video. Make sure to download
the game for yourself. Link in the description below, but now back to
whatever I was doing. Oh my God! Kukui is teaching me how to catch a Pokemon. This knowledge is useless to me. Well he gave me 10 poker balls. I got to sell those shortly. All right. It's time for
the, well, not the first, the second rival
battle with Hau, and he's leading with Pichu. Okay. To, hit K.O. All right. The Pichu is dead. Oh, wait it out
sped me this time. Oh, we're fine. Okay. I worry for nothing. Aha! I remembered correctly. That's going to be very helpful, because Fabio is not fastio. Alright. It's time for the, our first hard battle
of the play though, because she has a Rowlet,
that knows leafage, and I cannot use anything
else to beat her. However, I have a strategy and that strategy
is baby-doll eyes. Fabio gets that. And so I just need to
make this Rowlet's Leafage do very little and heal
a lot in the process. All right. That was one. This is two. I'm going to go
ahead and potion now, because a potion gets
me back to exactly full. I'm going to get
it to minus six. If he crits me, I'm dead. All right. This should get him to
negative six attack. All right. He's minus 6 and now I
just start disarming voice. Oh no no no! No! God. All right. I just got unlucky
with the crit. She's not going to
get a crit this time. Okay. If she doesn't
get a crit, I win. It's that simple, right? One more baby doll eyes, And then I'll start attacking. All right. I'm going to get to full. Oh, that didn't- Okay. Okay. What does that like, six hits? I think we can get this here. Sit down, Rowlet! You fool, could only beat me if you used a crit and
I currently beat you because I used multiple
many potions, but it's fine. Great balls. More cash. All right. So Ilima is showing me the
totem stickers and admittedly, this is something that I
completely forgot about. I can get totem Pokemon from Samson Oak as I
collect the stickers. So the stickers are going to be super freaking important
in this play through, because it gives me more
totem team member options. All right. We're taking on
captain in Ilima. ILima, Lima beans? Crit this water gun. Come on. Oh, you've got to
be kidding me. Why? Oh gosh. All right. We take
out the yungoos. It knows leafage?
Minus two defense. Oh no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no. I have the times defenses, but, this is just going fabulously. Okay. Let's try this again. I'm at level 14 now,
because I killed a Furfrou in the grass and I'm using
my boosting items right now. All right. My Special
Attack rose sharply He tackled it in
Lear to hit KO Maybe? Yes. So leafage
was doing so much, because I was at like
minus two defense. I can kill this here. And then immediately times
defend against the Smeargle. This will get me up to plus one. Oh, that's so much better. Oh we at speeds. Okay. We're good. We're good. We won. Hooray. All right, man. On a credit man, I've
lost twice already. Jeez. Ooh. Oh, let's go. Fabio is evolving
right before I lit- literally the last battle
before the totem Pokemon. This is very good
timing, might I say. Yes, Fabio. You're
even more fabulous now, with that silly middle
school dance dress. All right. My first totem battle. Oh, you are so large. You know what? I just got to go for a disarming
voice right off the bat. I don't need to
drop if it's a tag. I'm five levels higher. and I didn't - Oh, it's getting
help, but that's fine. Or disarming voice hits both? Well, that's just not fair. This starter is definitely
very well equipped for this fight. It is over no problemo poblano. Okay. Well it's time for
another battle with Hau. The Litten I can handle,
worried about the Pikachu. Oh wow. Okay, water gun,
Don't fail me now. Oh cool. Oh Noibat. Oh! I know how to
handled a Noibat. We just ice wind it, and
then it will go splat, just like that. Bye bye. All right. Time to battle,
holla at show girl! Wow, I haven't said
that phrase in a years. Okay. So for this Hala battle, the main thing I'm
concerned about is the fighting Z-move. Recline, no hit. Oh, I'll spend it
anyways. Didn't matter. Sweet. All right, one down. We will disarming voice you. Oh so close. Sand attack all you want, man. You've already done it twice. All right. Got him. What does this do? You are frailer than Makuhita! Okay. Here it is. If
we live this, we win. I think we'll live. Oh, we took that so well. Okay. Wow. We were nowhere
near in danger zone. All right, awesome. All right, disarming
voice, and we win! Hooray! I beat
everything, basically, everything on Mele Mele Island using only up pop Leo to Briana. Okay. Samson's telling me
about the totem stickers. I've been doing a
few, "collect 20", 20. I get the Raticate. I think I have 15. I think I got to get
more on the next island. This is not relevant
to the challenge, but it is kind of fun. Wow. I'm really bad at this. I have crashed so
many times 16,122. "Woah, we've got
a new champion." I do? It was good enough
to be the champion? Well, that's
embarrassing for them. I've collected 15
totem stickers. All right. Five more, and I can get a
second to Pokemon 17, 18, 19. On the beautiful balcony
overlooking the ocean, I find my 20th totem sticker. Off to the beach! "Oh, young Michael, I've
been hoping to see you again. It seems you've collected
20 totem stickers. I told you, I'd give
you a special Raticate that's as big as a real totem
Pokemon once you got 20, so I guess it's yours!" Finally, another Pokemon! It's big and beautiful. I'm calling it chipmunk
because of its cheeks. Like a chipmunk. My God, this is my
first time sending the Raticate into battle. And he really is very big. All right. Hau, it's time for
our next battle. This town ain't big
enough for the two of us. I really hope my giant
dark type rat can deal with this Pikachu. Oh you're leading
with the Z-move. Okay that the normal type one. Actually that's worst
because I don't resist it. Okay. That wasn't bad. Why is this athletic cat faster than my seal on land
in a prom dress. That's not logical and I'm
already down to less than half. Brilliant. Brilliant.
Oh, that was fine. Well, I just ate that Pikachu, literally just
consumed it whole. Bet I can do the same
to this tiny thing too. Aha! Aha! Oh an Eevee, okay. All right. Chipmunk buddy, You did great with your first, your first battle with Hau. That was awesome. I'm getting ready to fight, emo boy with wrist problems, which is just like
me, minus the emo part because your boy
has wrist problems. I sprained my wrist, shiny
hunting Kabuto and let's go, okay. It was a tough time. Oh I didn't kill it.
Oh it's the Zorua, I totally forgot about that. I was like, wow, that
Zubat took that well. All right, time to take on
the Brooklet Hill trial, which I am absolutely
terrified of, because I know
it's an Araquanid, and I do not know if araquanid has a bug type move. Oh boy. Oh. Okay. I'm glad
I tested that, bug does not resist dark. So that's good to know
if for whatever reason hyper fang is not
working out for me. All right. Time
to fight the totem with nothing but a
Raticate and a Brionne. Oh man, this is not
going to be easy. Oh man, I remember seeing this for the first time
and just being stunned that the Araguanid popped out. Totem versus totem. Let's see how much
Hyper Fang does. Don't go for a bug move man. Oh, I out-speed it still. Well that doesn't do very much. And it knows leach life. That's deeply unfortunate. And now it's called for help. Ah crap. I don't know what the
Dewpider is going to do. And I'm worried it's going
to like start boosting the Araquanid, So I'm going to try and kill it. Oh no, my Hyper Fang missed. Oh, that's brutal. Oh. And it crit me. My God. This play through is crit city. I think I got to start
baby-doll eyes-ing. So that's the leech
life bothers me less. Alright. Roto boost. Attack
defense, special attack, special defense speed. Okay. Okay. So I'm going to try bubble
beam on the Dewpider. It's resistant, but
the rain is boosting, and so it should still
do a decent chunk stab disarming voices, non it's
stronger than disarming voice. Oh my God. That did way
more than disarming voice. Okay. We get a turn to attack before it calls whatever
the next thing is in. Let's say much bubble beam
does on the Araquanid. About a third. Aurora beam. Oh please tell me I, did I exhaust all
its leach lifes. Ooh that wasn't a crit. Wow. That did a lot. Yo, I think I exhausted
all its leach lifes. Okay. It's calling for help. Let's see what comes in a Masquerain. I'm
just going to kill it. I feel like it can be annoying. Bubble beam absolutely OHKOs. I'm at plus one rain,
stab, not resisted. There we go. Bubble? Okay. I absolutely made it
run out of leach lifes. That crit was a bit annoying, but I think we
might just win here. Oh so close. All right. Biting. All right. This is fantastic. I, I healed enough times to
get rid of the leach life, man. The roto boosts
definitely helped too. I need to be paying a lot of
attention to Rotom's eyes, because those boosts
certainly helped. Way to go, Fabio. I
am so proud of you. Lana has given me
the water veil, see, which I am immediately equipping to Fabio and also
the fishing the rod, allows me to get a
couple totem stickers that I had to skip before. 10 dive balls for the money. All right. Got the Z crystal on Fabio. Alright. Totem
sticker, come to papa! 25. All right. Yo, I get Crunch and
only at level 24. I go chipmunk. My goodness. I didn't know you got
Crunch at such a low level. Totem sticker. 26. There's another one 27. 28. If I can find one more, I'll
have 30, but unfortunately, I don't know if that's enough. Aha. Ooh. There we go. All right, Samson, what
are you going to give me? if you'll give me anything. I might be 35 or it might be 40. Dang it! I've skipped a lot
of trainers to get here, to the volcano park,
because this trial is going to be very easy. It's a little Marowak
and I have a dark type and a water-type.
I'm not concerned. All right. What up Kiawe? I love the sorority girl pose for this ridiculous silly trial. Yep. There's the
tone of Marowak. And now we fight. There he is. Hi speed rose sharply. My first Z-move of
the play through. I'm pretty sure we're
going to kill it with this. Look at this, great
prom dress Fabio. Yay. Yeah, I won. All right. I've now
unlocked Charizard, which is very convenient. So what I'm
immediately going to do is fly back to Mele Mele, and get that sticker
that was in the pool. And then I will have
35 totem stickers. Is that enough? We're about to find out. "So you've collected
35 totem stickers. Hunting them down. It's
quite the task isn't it? The captains and Trial
Guides work hard. Oh. Oh, I thought the, Oh, I thought the dialogue
was different. Oh, hey, it's Mont! Wait. Oh my God. Pokemon can show
up in Poke Pelago? Can I get Pokemon
for Poke Pelago? I want to my
Pokemon in my boxes. Okay. Well let me go
deposit one of my two. All right. Chipmunk the Raticate
is now in the box. Now let's try this again. "Put some of the Poke
Beans you collect into the Poke bean crate. They'll be handy for
any hungry Pokemon wandering around the island". Oh man, I can't upgrade Isle Abeens unless
I have 15 Pokemon. All right. So we just need to put, I
don't know how this works. Like do I have to check
back within eight hours? All right. Wild Pokemon are more
likely to appear. I'll check in again
before I go home. So this is the guy that
revives fossils, which is nice. Fossils are fair game
for this play through, but I don't have any yet. I don't think I can get them
until I beat the grass trial. I have just spent quite a bit
of chunk of time going around and fighting all the
trainers that I skipped on the route next to or below
the daycare, on the water, by the volcano, on the
route that I'm on right now, and in the sea areas back
on the Mele Mele island, since I can do that
with Lapras now. And I'm, if I don't
want to sit and grind, I have no other options
besides, just going for the Lurantis trial,
which is terrifying, because it's a hard trial,
and I have to beat it with Raticate who does not
have super effective damage. So the plan is to times attack on this first turn
and then break neck blitz it and hope that
that's enough to OCO it. All right. I
completed the trial. No Pokemon attacked
me. And here we go. Hello. That camera
angle always gets me. It looks enormous, and
then you switch it, and it looks like it's
just as tall as you. Oh I should use a times defense. That's what I should use. I should use that first,
use the times defense first. All right. Well now I use the times attack. I have to take out the
little ranches fast. Otherwise it will. Oh, Okay. Okay. That was fine. This is where we do it. Okay. We lived, we moved
before the Kecleon. Come on buddy. And I'm at plus
two. Look at him, his belly, oh! Yes! Oh my God. Thank goodness. Okay. Whew. Thank
goodness for X items. The chipmunk did great. You big, beautiful angry boy. All right. One last
thing before I wrap up my recording for the
evening, is to see if I happen to get any
Pokemon to show up. I did not. Dang it. All right. I have made it to Konikoni City, which is important
for two reasons. The first, is that I'm at
38 or 39 totem stickers and there's gotta be
at least two more, which means I can
probably get to 40, which means that's probably
a new totem Pokemon. The other reason, is that
Olivia's shop is here which means I can buy fossils. All right. There's one
right here on the docks. 39. If I can find one
more, I can go check. All right. I've got 40. "Professor Oak wants
to talk to you". Okay. So that's why
it's going to tell me when I hit milestones. "Oh Michael! I've been
hoping to see you again. It seems you've collected
40 totem stickers. I told you I'd give you
a special Araquanid" That's the next one? I mean, it's cool. It's just overlap and typing,
but I'll take what I can get. Yeah. We'll name ya. We're naming it Bobbles. Just because it's got
bubbles and bobbles a bit. Ah, bad nature. Dang it. Well anyways, let's
go to Olivia's shop. All right. What do you sell? She sells the evolution stones. So I think this lady back here, What do you mean,
only one per customer? I can only buy one? I
have to look this up. (typing) Okay. A woman behind the one
selling stone sells fossils with a limit of one
each per customer. Okay. I thought it was one each,
one total, but that's fine. I was, I was worried, I would only be able to get one but now I can just
go take all of them. A lot of rock types. All right, guy.
Welcome to dream park. Yes, I do. start with Dome, because it was the
first on the list. I will be able to
get all of them in one go, because I emptied
my party except for Brionne I'm naming the Kabuto Demon, as a reference to
Twitch plays Pokemon. And now I've got to Lileep. We're naming it Cray Cray, because eventually it
will be a Cray Cray dilly. And now we've got Shieldon,
which is very cute. It will become not
cute when it evolves but that's just part of life. All of us get a little
less cute when we get older and I'm going to name
this one, Date Tech. For those of you
who are Hiku fans, it's a reference to the
iron wall of Date Tech. And now I've got the Archen,
which I'm very excited to use. I am big fan of Archeops
and I haven't used one on a team since my first play
through of white version. And so I'm going to
name it Indominus after and dominance Rex
from Jurassic World. because it's a
dinosaur Raptor thing. And now finally we have
Amaura who is very cute and I'm going to name
this one Borealis, after the Aurora Borealis because that's kind of what
they're partially inspired by. They're only level 15. Why do they start at 15? Oh God. That's brutal. Okay. You have a
terrible nature. That's also a bad nature because
you're a specialist hacker. Ah it could be worse. That's not the worst.
In a neutral nature, we stand at neutral natures. I have Pokemon now. It's not ideal, but I have them. At least one benefit of this is that I no longer have to put one of my two Pokemon in the PC. Every time I want to go
to Poke Pelago, all right. So I'm not getting
used the Kabuto. I feel like I have to have
the Araquanid on the squad because with all
these rock types, my team really hates
fighting types. Okay. I looked through
their level up move sense. And while shield and steel
typing may come in handy it won't come in
handy for a while. Cause like it's only
steel type move, It gets by level up is
iron hand not till 42. So I might end up
training it up later. But for now it just
doesn't, it doesn't, it's not going to
be that helpful. I'm teaching Borealis
echoed voice, because that will get
the refrigerate boost and it has higher, special
protective physical tech. And take-downs just, I
don't like the recoil. Oh, definitely want to give
grass not to Cray Cray. That'll be a good grass man. All right, so I made their
move sets a bit better. And now I guess it's time
for some switch training. Thank God for the
experience share but on the bright side,
the next battles Olivia and like Brionne's probably
just going to sweep. Oh I, yeah. I forgot that
Plumeria battled me here. Oh let's go. I beat her Salandit
that's six levels higher with just Argon. And there's Olivia. I think this should be
pretty straightforward. I mean my strongest Pokemon
is a water tank hike. I'm not that concerned. This little bug is
faster than Brionne. Why did that do so much? Oh, got it. So you know what? I'll just brute force it with
chipmunk start crunching it. That takes that annoyingly well And it does no. Yeah.
It's got giga drain. Okay. Well this is KO
because of the defense drop. Yep. All right.
Way to go chipmunk. All right. And the lycanroc. Now we go back to
Fabio and we Z-move. You naughty dog, you. I will have to crush
you now, I apologize. And there we go. Olivia has been defeated. What I'm extremely worried
about is the next trial which is the electric one and I have no ground types and
yes, it is a Toga tomorrow. So it's also weak to
fire and fighting. And I don't have
any of those either.
