Planting Seeds of TRUTH into your Children: Kim Haney

her in Stockton California she's the mother of five children and I bring sister Kim Haney a wonderful woman of God a woman of Prayer to you today I will tell you this when in prayer when God gave me this thing God is building a young church her name came to me so forcibly and I was cautious about that because she's related to me and I said God are you sure and I felt the sanction of the Holy Ghost and when I called her she began to cry and she said God gave me this message when I told her the theme three years ago and when God gave me the message he told me that I would one day speak it at ladies day at General Conference we both began to cry then the confirmation how God works so I bring to you a woman that is sensitive to the Holy Ghost open your hearts and listen to her as she brings God's word god bless you can you give her a hand [Applause] well praise God what do you say after all of that and I'm 38 I'm not 39 I had to clarify that but um I just want to say I do count at a very high honor to be asked to speak to you wonderful ladies this morning and I'm very humbled as I approached this pulpit with deep respect and fear of God very humbled and I honor our first lady sister joy Haney whom I loved very much and all of these ladies who work so hard to make this Ladies Day available to us this helps so many of us thank you thank you for your hard work and um you can be seated I want to sing a little song and if you know this old song I want you to join with me it's just a very simple chorus and I'm kind of partial to the old songs just lift your hands and sing it to the Lord just to [Music] to me [Music] just to know his hand [Music] although the world [Music] away [Music] to me let's sing again lift your hands do [Music] walk with you chief [Music] to me and Lord it's the truth those are just words to know your hand kidding me Thank You chief [Music] go away it's for me to walk with you means everything to me let's love him Jesus where would I be if I didn't have you God oh I thank you that you have drawn me to this place fellowship and love you are so real Jesus I thank you for your presence your friendship thank you for your companionship I worship you worship you praise God someone once said that the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world and sister Gleason I'm glad they gave you a time limit because you're about to preach my message but you know those words have a lot of truth to them the influence of a mother in the life of her children is irreplaceable and you know what's so sad about it is it seems like there's not enough hands that are willing or available to rock the cradles anymore how many mothers do we have in here this morning if you're a mother will you raise your hand a grandmother if you once were a mother okay that's the majority of you mother you are irreplaceable you are so valuable you are so valuable in the life of your child don't ever be blinded by what the world's views of a mother are you know Satan would like to strip us of a lot of things but one thing he would love is to take the mother out of the home and out of the life of their children when they're young during the years that they're at home how many of you have children that are home right now okay several of you you know about three years ago I had a man in our church bring me a great big of lemons and we live in the San Joaquin Valley and so we have a lot of different fresh fruits and vegetables but I had never seen lemons like these before they were as big as a mango they were huge and the skin on the outside was like as soft as a peach and they were delicious so we took them and we decided to juice them and made some really good lemonade and as I was juicing these lemons these little seeds started popping out and I was like you know what I'm gonna take those seeds and I'm gonna plant my own lemon tree I had no idea this these lemons came up a really old tree in this man's backyard I had no idea what kind of tree it was so I took me a little pot and I got me some really good soil you know like that Miracle Grow soil and I began to dig down in a little hole and I put those seeds in that hole and I covered him up and as the days went by I made sure that I watered them I put him out on my son would hit him just right and you know I water to make sure that you know I didn't overwater him and tried to keep an eye on him well I got really excited you know just couldn't wait to see that little lemon tree one week went by and there was nothing two weeks went by still no sign of life it was just that dead dull black dirt sitting there three weeks went by and I was still watering him I was still trying to take care of them still nothing and I thought okay you know what I've killed these seeds I don't know what I've done but my mind went back to all the plants that I bought at Lowe's and Home Depot when they look so pretty you know and their leaves are all glossy and healthy well they plan their funeral on the way to my house believe me I love plans spent I cannot keep him alive I just I don't know what I do so I thought okay I killed these seeds I don't know what I did but I kept watering them and do you know about four weeks later this little green sprout started growing and I knew those seeds would grow because I was doing everything I was supposed to do and because of God's divine laws of nature I mean we know if we plant a seed and take care of it it's gonna grow but and now by the way I have a lemon tree about this high but I knew if I got too frustrated or impatient which I am known to do it to certain times and every day I came home and I saw my little pot sitting there by the front door and and I mean this is it this is a day in the Haney household we come screeching up to the driveway in our car and kids are flying out of every door and I'm yelling grab your papers get your school papers don't forget that get your lunch pills and so they're all run inch ones trying to catch the cat you know the others are going everywhere and I'm jumping out thinking why in the world am I gonna fix for dinner tonight and I run up and I'm opening the door and I see my little pot sitting there and it's screaming give me water give me water and I say I know you need water I'll be back I'll be back this evening I'll be back but the cares of the day get me so involved and things that I know need to be done day by day those seeds are gonna sit there and you know what's gonna happen to them they're gonna die those seeds need me to live those seeds need my involvement in their little life to make it they cannot make it without me but do you know what is gonna happen to those seeds not only are they gonna die but something that I do not want to grow in that pot is gonna start to grow have you ever had that happen had a pot sitting out maybe out in your back porch or whatever and you know you you mean to plant something in it it's gonna happen it you just haven't got around to it one day you walk outside and like there's something growing in it where did you come from but that's what happened there are seeds of the wind that are constantly searching and floating through the air and they're searching for a pot a fertile soil that is empty they don't need my involvement to take root these weeds are not dependent on me to grow and flourish and thrive in that soil they are the wild seeds of the wind and they will grow wherever there's an empty pot now mothers I see we have a few babies in here today but I think even if you're a great-great grandmother you can remember back 10 months of pregnancy we put our pride aside and we allow this extra weight to inhabit our bodies and some of it still refuses to leave we become a home for a little tiny baby and you know these these guys they have no idea what we go through when we go through pregnancies it's it's pretty amazing but we endure weeks sometimes months of extreme nausea you get to where you get so big you you can't sleep at night and so you're going for weeks without hardly any sleep you're uncomfortable nothing sounds good to eat but then you want to eat everything in the house your nose gets swollen shut because everything's swelled you can't breathe it's it's just it's God's Way but then your body begins to sit and forth signals that it's time and in the pain and the tears you birth into this world a little tiny baby but I want to tell you something that baby is not just for you to hold and cuddle and love and dress but God has given you something that is even more precious God has given you I don't know if you can get this on the camera a pot of soil and it's an empty pot of soil there is nothing planted in the soil of your child whenever it comes to you their soil is empty and that child will become what you plant into that soil this soil is something that God hands to us and if my seeds are not planted into the soil of my child something from somewhere is gonna begin to grow this pot of soil will not remain empty the soil of my child's heart the soil of their soul will not remain empty either I'm gonna plant seeds and they're gonna grow or they're gonna come from somewhere else when the children of Israel finally made it into their promised land of Canaan after travelling for years in the wilderness they did not have a sophisticated educational system and they had a lot of kids got to remember it was a lot of people and even though this was the land of blessing and promised that they had been searching for all these years it was still filled with godless heathen nations there were heathen tribes in that land that did not serve Yahweh and God knew that it would be filled with enticing temptations that they had never been tempted before in the wilderness he knew the only way his people could stand strong be loyal and be close to him were to have seeds of truth planted embedded deep into the hearts of the generation of children that were getting ready to enter that land that was the only way it was gonna keep them I want you to turn to Deuteronomy 5 30 and 31 with me and if you could please put that on the screen Deuteronomy 5 30 and 31 now right here we're getting ready to read I want to set the scene for you God told Moses he said go tell the people to go get in their tents you and I are gonna have a very intimate conversation Moses I have to make sure that you are grasping everything I'm getting ready to tell you it's like you and your husband you know sometimes you don't want the kids to be around you're getting ready to discuss something you say go get in your rooms well that's what God did tell him to go get into their tents in reading go say to them get you into your tents again but as for thee stand out here by me and I will speak unto thee all the commandments and the statutes and the judgments which thou shalt teach them that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it now when God gave Moses instructions on what to teach the kids he didn't write a book he didn't even write an entire chapter he summed up everything that they would need in two Commandments two Commandments and I want you to turn with me to Deuteronomy 6 4 & 5 Deuteronomy 6 4 and 5 first commandment here o Israel the Lord our God is one Lord second commandment and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul and with all thy might now God said here there are only two important seeds that must be planted into the hearts of your children when these two things were planted God knew this would give them the power to overcome the influence of the world they were getting ready to enter this would give them the power to overcome the temptations he said the first one consume your children with the teaching that there's only one God consume them he said embed this into their soul Moses they have to know why they have to understand why they serve one God they have to understand me they have to know why they're different embed this into their soul now I want to tell you these kids that were getting ready to enter the land of blessing they were no strangers to the spirit realm God was real to them they didn't just hear stories about manna falling down from heaven and feeding they ate that manna they went out every morning and they gathered it up off the ground and they lived off that manna they knew God was real these kids watched everyday how a cloud would mysteriously rest over the tabernacle they saw that over the camp of Israel they saw that cloud and then they watched each night as the cloud would disappear and that pill or a fire would appear to them and it was a big ball of fire they saw that with their own eyes they didn't just hear about it and they remember specifically many times that pillar of fire would begin to move out and they would begin to gather everything in their tent and the people would say grab this hurry God's moving God's moving we got to get together and move they would they were amongst that they were a part of that these kids were used to the things of the Spirit they knew God was real but being close to his presence I want you to hear me being close to his presence and seeing God's acts were not enough being close to his presence and seeing his acts were not enough every child still had to be taught who he was they still had to be taught I mean these kids were getting ready to move into the land of promise but God knew they would not have needs like they did when they were in the wilderness God knew they would not have to be as dependent upon him for certain things like they were in the wilderness they were moving into houses that were already built they were already furnished they were already filled with everything they needed they were gonna be drinking from wells they never had to dig they never had to sweat over they were going to be eating from olive trees and grape vineyards that they never had to prune they never had to protect from the insects they were already grown and they lived off their fruit they became blessed people everything was already built planted and dug out for them to reap from it was already planted God knew that the land of blessing was a dangerous place to be he knew this that's why he said in Deuteronomy 611 I want you to turn there with me he said when thou shalt have eaten and be full then beware then beware he didn't say beware of the tribes or beware of the godless he said then where when you've eaten and you're full he knew his blessings could be their greatest curse if they failed to pass a love into the hearts of their children for this God right now were you and I live 2009 under the Thunder and the rain we have bigger churches better churches beautiful facilities than we have ever had we do we have very talented musicians we have great powerful choirs we have Sunday schools that are fun and exciting we have Christian schools we can send our kids to now we have Bible colleges we're a part of a strong organization we think we have everything we will ever need for our kids to love our God we think we have everything we need for our kids to make it but we are living in a dangerous place when we allow these things to replace us these things are good and we have to have them but they can never replace us teaching our children you know it's not all about going to church and I'm gonna step on some of your toes it's not all about being a part of a good organization you know what it's about it's about getting the doctrine into the hearts of our kids that's what's gonna keep them Church is not gonna keep them an organization is not gonna keep them we got to get the doctrine inside them they have to know what they believe this brings us to the second thing he told them in verse 5 and thou shalt love the Lord your God with all thine heart with all thy soul and with all thy might now I want you to think about something this is a commandment to love someone have you ever thought about that how do you command someone to love someone else even especially when you can't see them love is an emotion love is something you feel that comes from your heart how can you command someone to love someone else well God didn't just leave them wondering and thinking how to do this he told them exactly how to command a love to grow into the hearts of their children for him when he said in verse 7 and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house and when thou walkest by the way and when thou liest down and when thou risest up God is saying this is how you get your kids to fall in love with me this is how you've got to teach them about me don't just assume they're gonna catch on to this they have to be taught about me you have to talk about me I have to become your life not just a part of your life last Sunday my husband preached a powerful message and it was called the vineyard is not for sale and he talked about our heritage and there's a dear precious seyn of God in her church sister sherry Kenny came up to me afterwards and tears in her eyes and she said sister Haney my mother put such an obsession for God in our lives there were seven children there was no husband no father in the house this was a single mother raising seven children but she said I remember so many nights almost every night she'd gather all of us children into her room and she would sit on her bed and she would read to us the Bible she would read to us the scriptures and for hours we would memorize these scriptures she said I remember looking at the clock many times and noticing it was way after midnight and my mom had to get up early the next morning to go to work and she said that she was strict on us if we were done at the altar pray and when the altar call was given we'd get a whippin she said you know what though I never strayed I never strayed but she said when I turned 20 years old something happened to me it was like a switch got flipped on inside and my mother's God became my god he became real to me I fell in love with her God teaching your children births in them it brings forth a love inside of them when you teach them about him you know he didn't tell the children of Israel we'll just keep them near the tabernacle keep him coming he didn't tell him that he didn't say oh when you when you bring your sacrifices make sure they're with you so they can watch you he didn't tell him that he said those things were right but they were never meant to replace they were never meant to replace a mother teaching her children when you take time to teach your kids you plant seeds of truth in them that will transmit and transfer a love for your God inside of them you look at Jacque abed Moses's own mother she had him only during the preschool years and moms come on I know I've been there five times I mean those are the years you cannot wait to send him to school I mean they're active they're it's it's tough for them to concentrate you're trying to teach them but she had him between the ages of four to six we don't know exactly how long but what she did with that time is what made the difference in that boy's life you know I can just picture her several times a day saying Moses Moses you are not an Egyptian you are not one of them your God is Yahweh your God is the one true God of Israel you are not a part of that world Moses you serve the God of Israel and from those seeds planted into a little boy the roots from those seeds grew stronger than the pole and the allure of the kingdom of Egypt the palace could not overcome the roots from those seeds and ladies traditional Christian lifestyles are not gonna keep our children anymore I'm just being honest with you you know I live in California and I'm many of you live in some very liberal states as well but the spirit of Antichrist is so strong in this world right now we are facing demon powers that we did not face ten years ago and it's not going to get any better America has turned her back to God and we are getting ready to see the judgments of God in this nation but it's going to bring them back it's gonna bring them back but I'm gonna tell you what my children better be in the boat when it happens my children better be in the boat you know look at look at what just happened this last Friday they anticipated over fifty thousand Muslims they anticipated they were allowing it we were praying but this is these are the spirits that we're facing in this nation they were gonna allow a ride on Capitol Hill the spirit of Antichrist is loose we have to keep our kids close to him it wasn't it's not the same as it was even the world senses the change in the spiritual atmosphere they sense a change they're fearful they don't know what it is but they're fearful they're fearful of what's happening we cannot sacrifice our children on altars of apathy and tradition I'm telling you I have changed things in my life I have I'm being honest with you I have let go of a lot of things that really are not important my kids are what's important to me we have to live a lifestyle that is sold out to God we have to be consumed by this thing how can you pass on something if you don't possess it we have to be so consumed by it I'm gonna tell you what I do I God said play the scriptures in your home I'm always playing old messages I've got sister Freeman playing and different ones and I'm always and my kids say mom do we have to listen to that again I'm like yes you do don't you dare let me see you with your iPods in your ears and maybe that's strict but I don't care I'm getting him to heaven we play scriptures we put the Bible on CD I want them to become consumed with God he has to be their life he cannot just be a part of their life it's not gonna keep them any longer maybe it worked 20 years ago but it's not gonna work today history shows us what happens to a generation who never takes the time to teach the children and I want you to turn with me to Judges chapter 2 Judges chapter 2 verses 8 and 10 verse 8 says in Joshua the son of nun the servant of the Lord died being a hundred and ten years old skipping to verse 10 and also all that generation which were Joshua's generation the ones that crossed from the wilderness into the land of blessing were gathered unto their fathers and there arose another generation after them which knew not the Lord nor yet the works which he had done for Israel this is what happens when it doesn't become important anymore ladies somewhere in the midst of enjoying prosperity and living in the blessings the planters of the seeds didn't think it was important to teach the children oh they're just kids just let them play and we're gonna be going to the tabernacle or later on today and they'll teach them about Yahweh there besides I have been so busy gathering all these olives from the trees and I've been so busy gathering the grapes from the orchards and oh and taking care of the Sheep these kids they're there they're getting taken their getting taught but I've got to take care of my house too you know that God has given me and the greatest curse to God's people became his blessings hamish a Makai Mussoorie a Shanda machi when no one felt the need to transfer seeds of truth and to the children anymore honey Sangha Makai Amata the soil of that generation did not remain empty but the seeds of the wind the winds of doctrine and deceit found it and the seeds of the wind began to embed and plant into the fertile soil of that generation and there arose a generation that did not know God I want my kids to know God I don't want them just to know Church I want them to walk with God the house we lived in about nine months ago was located down a long dirt road of about a mile and a half and about four five five times a week I would I would take walks down this road to my mailbox and back and this was kind of my time to be alone and and I would talk with the Lord and you know just share things and listen to him and it was about three years ago I was going through a time of frustration in my own life I felt like I was not becoming successful I felt like my life wasn't really making a difference and you know I just had received a call from a friend of mine and she was telling me about all the doors God was opening to her and and the anointing that oh she just the power of God and and I was happy for her but then a couple of weeks earlier I'd received some in the mail from someone else and and they were telling me how that who God just used me and he's opening this door for me and this door for me and it seemed like everywhere I turned God was using my peers in ministry and I was nowhere have you ever felt that way not you sister Megan but I was feeling that way I was like so here I was I was walking on the dirt road and there's no neighbors I mean it was out in the boondocks and I was walking and I was like God why aren't you using me what's wrong do I have sin in my life I pray I consistently try to meet with you I fast I take times of fasting I hunker after you where are you why why why aren't you using me and God spoke to me that day on the dirt road ladies if I have ever heard the voice of God I heard it that day and he said do you really want to please me and it kind of shocked me at first I was like was that me but I knew it wasn't and I said God why are you asking me this of course I want to please you I've given you my life I've given up everything on what do you mean do I really want to please you and that day between the walnut orchard and the bobbed wire fence God began to reveal my motives to me and I'm gonna be very transparent with you I mean this is kind of embarrassing but I don't care he told me he said Kim your desires are being fueled by your pride it's what he told me I've literally felt like the air was knocked out of man I was like I couldn't believe I honestly did not know that I really did not understand that it was all under the mask of ministry but now he's telling me that my desires are being fueled by pride and it broke me and I said God I don't want that I don't want that what do I do and he brought me back to the original question do you really want to please me I felt like Peter you know when Jesus kept asking him Peter do you love me do you love me do you love me and finally Peter just gave up and said God I know you're digging for something besides the surface and I stood there and I said Lord you know if I really want to please you and he said look down the road and as I looked down the road I was faced in my house and I saw my five young children out playing in the freight yard and God said I have given you five children they are your ministry consume yourself with them right now they are your ministry and now I know why he was asking me if I really wanted to please him because being a mother that pours herself into her children is not a glamour a spotlight position it's not something that's highly esteemed in the sight of men it's something that nobody else sees it's behind closed doors but you know what I have found the contentment and the joy of pleasing God [Music] that day changed the course of my life I asked I said Lord what do you want me to do and as I walked back toward the house he said I want you to cancel this I want you to let this go and these were ministry I want you to let this go this is not important to me right now and with tears streaming down my face I walked back to my house a changed woman I wanted to please God and dad was my prayers purpose for my life and so we began to tell me I what do I do where do I start and I mean I'm humiliated to say I didn't know where to start I did it I had taught search for truth to other people but never to my kids and he said start there so I got a search for truth to chart that color chart and that summer that was in May when this happened to me that summer I got my kids around him and we went through search for truth and we and I taught them and you don't have to be a great theologian they don't know but I taught them and whenever the school stay started we didn't have the time anymore to go through that and so every morning for three years now I get my kids up I have my prayer time alone and then I get my kids up about 20 minutes before they need to start getting ready for school and we all come into the living room and we sit on the floor and I teach them what God said to teach them teach them who God is I'm planting seeds into my children I don't want winds of doctrine and to seek to blow I don't want the seeds of deceit seeds of doctrine to blow into their fertile soil I want my seeds to be planted into them and I'm can we stand this morning I want my kids to come up front with me very quickly I was a real brave mom and I brought him with me this year and you know mom's this world you guys get in a little circle this world is not our home and you know I think we need to be reminded of that sometimes this world is not our home all that matters is that our kids are in the boat and I'm gonna step out a little further it even goes beyond winning other souls our kids come first if we don't have them in the boat what have we gained I'm urging you young mothers pour yourself into your kids forget about ministry pour yourself into your kids please God please God and you know when I was a child I remember here in an old record in my grandparents home play and and it just simply went something like this will the circle be unbroken [Music] by and by Lord by there's a better home [Music] and you know what that circle is that circle is a circle of my family that circle is the circle of your family it cannot be broken on that day and ladies on that great day when all is said and done and the Saints from all the generations are there those that have served him throughout all the ages stand there around the throne of God and I'm standing there and I look around and I see my Kell then she's there and I look around and I'm like where's Kayla and I look and I see Kayla and she's they're standing around the throne and I look around hey where's Joshua and I see him over there dancin and jump at it brag to God and I then I look at G on up there and and then on Ali you've made it it's all that matters is that my kids are there on that day I will be so glad that I chose to please God that day on the dirt road if you're a mother in this place I want to ask you to come forward and if you have your children with you bring them with you fear a mother or a grandmother come come forward to this altar area things that need to be changed in your life why don't you do it right now if they're things that need to be laid aside why don't you do it right now God changed me change me it feels it to me the desperation of getting my kids in the boat it's all that matters is that my children are ready to go my children no you're not just a god that is far off somewhere but you are their God they walk with you I want you to find another bother [Music] [Music]
