Planting corn with Nick! Case IH 340

hello everybody welcome back to the channel my name is bryce and i'm riding in the back of a pickup right now today is april 26th look at that touchdown oh my um i met my friend nick rossman's house right now and i just showed up and he said get in so i'll let you know what happens next all right everybody so we made it to our destination i guess at the end of the driveway what are we doing it's golden hour oh it's golden hour he's got to get the drone in here okay so they have a guy over here planting some beans for him right now and uh you should go follow nick on youtube rossman farms genetics and nick rossman 507. he's got some pretty good jones drone shots and then nick are we gonna go plant some corn we might go plant some corn too but i'll let you know right over there is uh nick's planner oh we can go get corn shots too i also interrupted the general livestock judging team when i showed up here so sorry about that we needed a break okay good rain isn't too dark look at that oh my goodness [Applause] [Music] movie [Music] [Music] so yeah like i said uh this is a neighbor of ours out here custom planting some beans for uh nick's family farm out here and a lot of people out in the fields tonight i saw like five planters on the way over here so it's a little cold i think but uh they're rolling what does it look like oh it looks pretty good golden hour it's a big planner there's the minivan just i was talented operator [Music] that was a close one about fell out this crazy driver flow around slow down i almost fell out i thought we were going plant corn i'm hungry i'm just starving nick i'm not a doctor but i think all these tools in here are supposed to go on the toolbox in the back you know some days you just throw her all in and go there's no room for me to sit it'll be all right okay okay on the grinder make sure she's locked take the battery remove the battery but for real what are we going to do now so we're going to go talk to my dad and i'm pretty sure our hired man is going to head home and i'm going to take over for him in the planter but i don't know yet so we're gonna go he's down with the bean planter right now um and then yeah we're just gonna talk and figure out yeah we'll we'll figure it out here we'll let you know yep yep okay okay bye dear dear nick nick dear [Music] hey is there some bright lights hold on where's tony at holy crap look at all the deer holy moly we lost tony that rhyme well we're gonna go find why are you feeding the deer yeah i don't know they just help themselves it's pretty ridiculous oh there's more on the other hand soybeans are going in nice plant filling up with fertilizer all right everybody so we're on the field right now the bean planter is right over there in the trees you can see the lights and uh nick's gonna be playing porn here uh the chs truck is loading up their trailer their fertilizer trailer and then once that's full they're going to start filling the planter tank and uh i don't think they're going to fill the tank on the front of the tractor but i'll let you know i've never been around this before so it's pretty cool all right so what's going on here right now is they're pumping this chemical right here from this tank through the pump into that hose up into the planter and it's going into this tank right here and i believe that that is starter not 100 sure on what that is we don't use starter on our farm uh it goes along with the seed and i assume it helps the seeds start better i don't know i couldn't tell you but that's what's going on here right now and then a little bit here will be in the planter okay so right now he's priming it so i'll drop some seed make sure all the little hoppers on each row unit are full and then it'll run a little fertilizer out just to make sure everything's ready to go and then he's just finishing his starting his second pass to the headland now so do that and then once he sets his gps we'll be able to roll servicing we have a breakdown he called us so we're gonna go see what the situation is yeah yep oh she looks sexy good thing we got the grinder good thing we got the grinder we're going to just cut every every round unit's getting cut off [Applause] [Laughter] [Music] that's bright okay so what we just did when we got to the planter here is we moved we moved we moved the roll cleaners down and why did we do that uh there's a lot of trash in this field so we're kind of trying to find the right level so number one they're not ridging but then they're also i'm so sorry so they're not ridging and then they're also not they're also getting all that trash clean out of the road so we get to see the ground so we're gonna follow him right now just kind of keep an eye on him yeah see how it goes so right now i'm driving nick's walking behind the planter checking to make sure i'll get a job that's doing all right all right so we just had to move all the rope cleaners back up to where they were just because it wasn't working as well as they thought those things are heavy holy crap right now what greg is going to do in the tractor is prime the planter and he's gonna run some fertilizer and some seed out and make sure it's all working he gave the thumbs up that means they're ready to go yeah i just i just said those are really heavy yeah they're sharp [Applause] [Applause] we're doing it we are doing it really well we're not doing it yet because the planner's not in the ground but we're gonna do it sweet night planting full moon just all right so this is the monitor for our new uh precision plant system so we can see seed population singulation spacing and then our downforce which we're watching pretty hard so that's pretty neat and then obviously that's where i'm going this is all my vacuum and bulk fill liquid control and uh yeah we're doing it [Music] oh my goodness deer are just like pets around here [Music] [Music] so as he's filling up the planter here he's got that jug and that's graphite and you put that in with the seed and that helps it flow makes it slippery and that's wrap yeah i got kicked out of the planter so we're just gonna run the seed now we're gonna go back fill up one side of this tender for him because he's gonna run out before he's done the night and then we'll see what else we can find to do yep give it the beans she might blow if we give her the beans too we usually pull this tender out with the 5500 but it's on the stock trailer right now so we got to look into this so it's a little sketchy on some hills kind of runs out of power but we're not too far from like this for now [Applause] thirsty beer beer beer beer beer no beer yes all right so we made it back to the shop here with truck and seed tender and now you can see this mountain of seed totes i'm not sure which one but we're gonna pick one of them next thing i'll lift it up with the forklift and we're gonna dump it in the seed tender here so when nick's dad needs more seed we'll take that out to him [Music] [Music] [Applause] wow [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right so what you just saw us do was there's a tote here full of soybean seeds and yes we made a big mess but this came out of the guy's planter that's planting beans right now they emptied his planter out and they put their own seed in so we put all that seed that was in a tote into bags and on the floor so we need to get a broom and sweep that up [Music] watch out nick i don't know how to drive this thing holy crap good time charlie with the harley whiskey hellbound guys i do a palette dress in this video it's not very professional but i'm having a lot of fun so sorry if it's not it's probably not going to be one of my best videos but i hope you still enjoy it what are you doing here what are you doing here all right so the time is currently 11 30. and uh mason showed up and we're gonna be loading one of these a seed tote into the seed center and take it down to nick's dad but first he's got to find the right number [Music] [Music] [Music] all right everybody so time is now midnight i better get home i gotta work tomorrow morning yeah we're gonna have to fill dad uh one more time so we just loaded like we got a thousand pounds of seed on there that should get him done with that field and then i think he's gonna call her tonight yep
