17 YEAR OLD PLANTS CORN! Ford NewHolland 8160

all right guys um it's the next day april 26th it's sunday i'm back at the farm here when i got done chisel plowing yesterday the elevator came and spread fertilizer um behind me greg is in the field digging he's way up on the hill there i'll see if i can get a good clip of him and we're actually going to start planning today so i just helped my dad load up the planner we put four bags in and he's gonna go back and try her out make sure everything's working and then we'll take off from there oh dad's taking off with his first eight rows of 20 20. um the first day of planning you don't get a lot done it's a lot of in and out of the cab see you just stop you're gonna get out and check the depth and the spacing and make sure everything's good okay so greg just took his truck over to sergeants and i came and picked him up and now he's taking the 25 and the digger over there and dad is out back still planting and i'm gonna feed my cow [Music] so we got some corn silage and then some dry cow grain and this is what my cousin and i have been feeding her every day and she knows what's about to happen she's ready you hungry uh-huh are you hungry are you hungry or you are so dad's all done planting out back he's gonna move down to the bottom field where greg was earlier so i gotta take him some seeds so i'm gonna get my truck and put eight bags in so i'm in the back of our seed tender right now and i gotta grab eight bags this dekalb right here loaded time to load up the planter again green huh so loaded all right so as you guys just saw me and my dad just filled the planter up so now i'm back up with the seed tender here and i need to get 15 more bags of this the kelp seed and then i'm gonna go run and get my dad and i some lunch and then he should be done with that field and he can move over to sergeants where greg is right now 15. loaded let's go get something to eat all right man of the next field here you can see greg in the back corner there you can see the dust flying and my dad's just getting here with the planter got some lunch so and i got seed so when he runs out we can fill him back up [Music] so so [Music] okay so dad's still planning there i'm sorry about the wind noise but some of you guys might be wondering what this mark is here on the ground and what was that thing hanging off the side of the planter let's call the marker and since there's no gps on our tractor here um this is what we have to use to find our way and keep it straight in the field so this that marker on the planter splits the planter in half so when he comes back down the field four rows will be on this side of the mark and four rows will be on this side of the mark and he has a silver line on his hood that he'll line up with this mark going down the field to keep it straight so that's what that thing is for so you can see he's coming back down the field here here the middle of the tractor is directly on this line so he's putting four rows of corn on one side of the line and four rows of corn on the other side of the line [Music] [Applause] so all right so dad's gonna let me plant here so i'm pretty excited um this is my very first round here the field's almost done but my first time ever planting let's see how i do all right markers down ladders in the ground speed up to about four and a half miles an hour oh we're doing it i am planting look at me go this is this is pretty cool so like i was talking about earlier there's a silver thing on the middle the hood of the tractor and i'm following that marker line sometimes it gets hard to see so you really got to pay attention and look [Music] all right so i made the end of the field here see if i can turn this thing around just like that we're planting again that was pretty cool guys i just planted one round down the field of bath i just planted my very first 16 rows of corn that i don't even know what to say that's pretty cool this field's almost done so once he gets finished here he's gonna take the tractor back to the farm i'm gonna take his pickup back and then he'll drop me back off here so i can grab my truck and then i think we're gonna head home all right so i took my dad's truck home i followed him back to the farm with the planter and now he just dropped me back off the field i grabbed my truck and we're all done for the day it's about four o'clock um he's gonna head home and i think i'm gonna go find aiden and see what he's up to i think he's packing uh their bean ground so we're gonna go ride with him for a little bit who knows maybe i'll make a video about that but if you like the video be sure to give it a thumbs up and subscribe and stay tuned for more thank you guys so much for watching
