Chopping corn silage 2020! (John Deere tractors)

[Music] turn the key hello everybody welcome back to the channel my name is bryce and today is tuesday september 15th i'm out here at aiden's farm this evening and they are chopping some corn before we jump into the video here i just kind of want to explain what chopping is and the difference from chopping and combining some of you guys might get confused i don't know if you guys are familiar with this or not but i'm just going to explain so when you combine corn the only thing you take is the kernels which is right here the rest of the trash goes through the combine and is blown out the back when you chop corn you take the ear the kernels the leaves the whole plant basically it gets chopped up and blew into a wagon and they take those wagons over to these silos behind me and they blow the silage up to the top and it fills the silo up um so yeah this is pretty cool for me because i've never been around filling silos before this is a new experience for me on our farm and the dairy that i work at we have silage bags which is basically a long tube a long garbage bag full of silage so this is completely different so i'm learning some stuff too so i'm just going to take you guys along and show you what it's like [Music] [Music] so [Music] so what aiden just did is pull the tractor and wagon up to that red thing and that's called a blower the wagon unloads into the blower and it blows the corn silage up that white pipe all the way to the top of the silo and then it gets blown into the silo and fills the silo up like i said i've never been around silos before when they load them so it's really cool for me to see too so yeah so [Music] got this wagon empty going to get another one we got hooked up to our next flag and we're heading to the floor right now so so [Music] another load all right so me and aiden got another load and they're switching silos right now this one's full so they're moving the blower to this one they're gonna hook the tractor back up to it so we can pull up and unload again [Laughter] [Music] [Music] on to the next one [Music] [Applause] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] wait wait wait guys before you write a comment asking why he ran over aiden's on the silo didn't see him there before you write a comment below asking why he ran over some corn out there let me explain so what he just did there was split the field in half the headlands are all off so now he's gonna work from the inside out and he's gonna try and pick up some of that three rows that he knocked down but what he can't pick up the cows will eat they run cattle out in that field in the wintertime so they'll clean that right up this feed is going to the cattle anyway so one way or another it's getting to the cattle so that's what he did out there i just want to explain that a little bit because i knew some of you guys were going to comment why we were wasting feed but we're not wasting it that's that we have to do that to split the field in half it's easier than going around the whole field so that's why all right aiden's got a full load there i'm gonna go climb the grain leg up there and put my gopro up there on a time lapse hopefully you'll be able to see the field back there and him chopping uh we'll just see how it turns out i'm almost to the top you can see i got a little ways to go but there's where he's chopping right now and they're bagging her bagging they're blowing silage in the silo right there i think this will make for a good time lap let's get to the top okay everybody made to the top of the leg here i've never climbed this by myself before i'm always with ayden so it was kind of a little scary being by myself but i made it up here and it's it's pretty high in the air all right well let's get this camera set up all right guys so i got my gopro set up here on a sweet time lapse it's a really nice view up here i hope that turns out good but while we're up here and we can see the field i kind of want to further explain why he split the field in half so you can see there that path he split the field in half the chopper is right there he's going down and when he gets the end he's going to drive down here and then come back and chop his way back up if he were to split the field in half he would go down to the end drive all the way to the other side of the field and then chop his way back up drive all the way across to this side again so it just saves time splitting the field down um yeah so that's why he did that now let's head down and find aiden again having fun yet yeah [Music] we uh had a few breakdowns earlier but everything's going smooth now so i'm having a lot of fun how are you mr blower man you doing good having fun that's good he'll make it it's an operator that is an operator right there what a beautiful night beautiful [Music] beautiful [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] all right everybody so i came back up here to the top of the grain lake to grab my camera aiden's unloading his last load for the night uh his grandpa put the chopper away and they're all done for the night so i'm gonna grab my camera and head back down what a good way to end the day right what'd you get but travis scotty we're trying to film a youtube video right now if you have a mcdonald's in
