Pie Trap Pizza (Covina, CA) NY Pizza Review 2 SLICE CHALLENGE

[Music] pie trap Pizza is located on East Arrow Highway in Cina this place is a bit out of the way for me a long ride Joel I don't ever come out this far but after hearing about how great their New York style pizza is I just had to make the trip they're tucked away inside a strip mall and consist primarily of a countertop with a display case of their pizzas of the day in front of a large kitchen but if you want to have your pizza there they share a dining room with the brewery restaurant next door which is nice if you're into that sort of thing I like beer okay the friendly boys behind the counter greeted me as soon as I entered and wasted no time preparing my slices which they promptly served up piping hot it's probably cooled off by now though oh God damn it that's some proper looking New York style pizza right there the cheese is melted beautifully into the sauce and the crust looks to be on point with a nice cook to the undercarriage it folds very well with hardly any flop but while it was nice and chewy and tasty as it should be I think I would have liked a little more crisp that would have put it over the top for me the cheese was creamy and delicious and Blended perfectly with their very flavorful sauce I could probably eat like a hundred of these I have sat back and said nothing while you've gone on and on about how you can eat a 100 of this and lift a 100 of that the pepperoni slice was even better plenty of perfectly cooked pepperoni cups on top of a blend of sauce and cheese and the crust was cooked nice and even just like the cheese slice it tasted great all the flavors were in balance and I really like the added crunchiness of the Char on the pepperoni cups when you combine that with the creamy cheese and sauce you get a really delicious bite now if only the crust was just a bit crispier this slice would have been perfect but as it stands it's still pretty awesome that was awesome yeah it was I went back from for another slice and chose their take on a tomato pie it's basically that same delicious red sauce with some breadcrumbs romano and herbs sprinkled on top plus a drizzle of olive oil it was absolutely delicious the flavor of oregano was really coming through complimenting that zesty tomato sauce but while the flavor bomb of all that Saucy goodness rides the line of being overpowering the Romano cheese rounds it out and prevents it from going too far and I just love that thin layer of crunch you get from the crust all throughout the slice this is exactly what would have kicked up those other two slices this is the answer thanks guys for making my experience here well worth the trip I give pie trap Pizza four out of five Stars if you have tried pie trap Pizza let me know what you thought of it in the comments and if you know of a place I should try next be sure to let me know that too don't forget to subscribe and please hit that like button thank you all for watching and I'll see you next time [Music]
