Philza plays the Minecraft 1.17 Snapshot!

hey guys how's it going it's snapshot time it came out on wednesday but now i need i need to see it i need to see it dude okay so blocks blocks blocks what we got there it is oh there's the copper okay it's very similar to uh netherright but not as trunk it's like a higher pitched version all right so basically uh what i've seen is that this [ __ ] takes like anywhere from 50 to 80 minecraft days to just go up one level so six months dude to go from there's lots of fun like 50 to 80 days apparently holy [ __ ] dude yeah it's like 20 hours bruh and you can stop it at any level that you want so uh say for example if i get to this level and i'm like oh i like that one i don't like that one this is probably the worst one but if i do like it right i can stop it by taking some honeycomb right put that in there with that and you get waxed copper so it stairs oh dude yeah so it stops it that's pretty cool this would be really nice for a greenhouse this is pretty fog but that's the max dude i want to try out walking on these blocks that's really satisfying wait hold on what about the what about these oh [ __ ] off what the [ __ ] hold up on top of the little like ping noise it's making a twinkle bruh i am gonna farm the ever loving [ __ ] out of this [ __ ] that's so good all right we're going on the ground boys all right oh i see them so these things are just kicking around hold on torch oh candle okay so you can do four it's they're like land sea pickles i can light them all in one go that's part so there's a weird sort of rule with these things you see the uh the crystals like these these bits uh they can't grow on just this stuff they have to grow on a budding amethyst which is like got a different texture to it and these you can't silk touch you can't break so what we're getting from this is literally farming this crystal is pretty much impossible unless you come out to one of these spots you can't move these things they have to stay here they're just meant to be here and you can't move them so what we'll have to do is when we want to farm this stuff we'll have to like go where the [ __ ] out in the overworld to try and find them first of all and then we have to set up possibly an afk spot maybe with um oh wait can i can i break these with pistons hold on let me see observer with an observer work possibly right just looking at it i'll just have a piston like go and smack in it smacking into it would this work chat i think it would right would that work i know you can mine these i'm thinking of like automating it right not quite probably have to do something different anyway someone we're smart will figure this [ __ ] out um someone wasteful is gonna figure it out don't worry i'm not here to learn this [ __ ] uh uh but yeah you can't you can't move these they're only meant to be here so i'm sure there's going to be a way to automate there must be but not i'm not going to figure this [ __ ] out uh but yeah around it there's like some other blocks is this [ __ ] there's calcite and tough basically uh better diorite better diorite is what this is or a cheap a cheap man's quartz what's cool is you can use fortune 3 on these and get more and you get like shards i think are these shards yeah there you are so you make the you make the the spy glass not a telescope spy glass oh yeah you can literally craft these as well so pretty pretty useful pretty pog oh yeah the tinted glass okay chat here's here's something game changing i know this which is huge for farms absolutely huge for farms tinted glass so this [ __ ] blocks lights but you can see through it so no longer do we have to have really awkward block setups to block light and then have glass underneath it you know my creeper farm for example i could just cover in this [ __ ] and we'd be golden i could see everything that's going on inside i got pitch black this is so [ __ ] useful this is huge for farms it's gonna make farms look so much prettier oh yeah imagine what this will look like with optifine with connected textures it'll just be a void cube mini voyage cube dude all right i want to try the telescope oh it's not a [ __ ] right chat real talk it's a telescope it's a [ __ ] telescope why they call it spyglass i don't know dude i mean it's like pirate [ __ ] i guess but this is basically um vanilla zoom and you can also customize this texture around the edges so i think most people are gonna do is that most of their um texture packs are gonna eat the sides or make them like barely visible you know i i reckon that's gonna be quite standard because it's pretty annoying having it be completely black around the edges is a bit annoying and i would never want to [ __ ] use it obviously hitting f1 is just going to be the play that people have to do now just doing this but who can be [ __ ] asked with that [ __ ] who who gives a [ __ ] dude this is what snapshots are for chat anyway oh the carpet thing so if we put carpet on top of this stuff do we still get the sound probably right yep candles on cake yeah i saw that too chat you could you can you can legit make a birthday cake by the way just the one oh i eat it and light it the shame you can't put multiple that would be hilarious if you could just like put like maybe 10 or like 15 on it just [ __ ] spammed all over that [ __ ] it would probably lag that would probably off a small small amount of light yeah it's definitely giving off light it's just four of these are way better uh what else we could try the lightning rod uh let's set the weather to thunder uh i noticed is minecarts can go underwater now by the way so we're gonna make a track that just straight up goes under [ __ ] water rails don't get [ __ ] up anymore this has never been a thing now it is here we go and we sink god that's terrifying this is so weird it's so unnatural what the [ __ ] then we just we just zoom back out everything about that is wrong everything about that feels wrong but it's it's it's in the game now oh my god you're right kristen and landis too i can make an endland this roller coaster dude endland is roller coaster pog i think those are the big major things tell me oh apart from the bundles the bundles are thing so let's see if i have how do i do it oh i can't use that because it takes up a full inventory slot and can't be stacked but i just put everything i had in this and i can get back out by right clicking it so remember when we were like oh my god we can put shulkers inside of a bun no um which leads me on to my next point holy [ __ ] you can get renewable shulker shells now they've added that in you can straight up renewable shulker shell shulker box previously if you wanted to farm shulkers you had to either just go to the end cities and just eat a bunch of them right until they're all gone or you'd have to dupe them using some crazy [ __ ] uh end portal setup no longer they have made it so that shulkers can spawn other shulkers by random chance if they hit each other so if we have two here get him to shoot him there we go there's a chance that them hitting each other is going to spawn another shulker i think they said it's like 50 i would love to get it to work that would be nice it's just not [ __ ] happening though oh there we go [Applause] pog okay now that they've added that in we can farm these guys time for death lava cauldrons a thing now yeah that's another thing lava cauldrons are now a thing or you can just fill them up like this it gives off a redstone pulse uh that's about it i think i i think this is because they want a way to have lava stored as yeah like as a track yeah trash can do you want to have a way to store lava without like placing it in your [ __ ] house and risking burning [ __ ] down i'm pretty certain they won't set it on fire should be okay well if i do a trap door on top of it i want that works too excellent if i want to throw items perfect actual garbage disposable that isn't just a source block of [ __ ] lava or a cacti cursed toilet true i doubt you can do lava cauldron underwater but i'm gonna try it now that you said it this is gonna be so cursed oh my god what the [ __ ]
