this is the this stuff right here is a good good uh carving for carving wood carving cottonwood bark these big pieces like this i think you might have told me that one time yes since i won rock paper scissors last time i think it's his turn to to follow us this is a big snag this is gonna make some groaning cool sounds when it goes over totally dead big haunted snag um it's kind of weird the way it's weighted it's like the initial fatness of the trunk is weighted the wrong way this way and then you go up a little ways and it starts to to lean off the way we want and then way up in the top there's a great big arm that goes back the wrong way again but we've looked at it from the side a few times and we think that it'll just take a little bit of it'll probably go without a wedge but with the wedge it'll definitely go so we don't need a pull rope is is my i think it'll be all right without one yeah and i also feel like it's cool of a shot as that fur tree was in between the fence and the roof their day i i feel like maybe you wish you would have lost rock paper scissors so you could be cutting on this one well we're still gonna rock paper scissors for this but we're gonna do it after you follow the tree to see if i would have won okay okay okay you get this one oh [Music] to do something with that wow [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] oh shoot that was something else [Music] he didn't need the wedge but he used it anyway look at how much meat this has the benefit of undermining it quite a ways made it tip sooner there it is okay we're gonna see who would have won ready okay uh shoot on rock paper slam okay ready yeah ah that was my tree i feel it i had that feeling it was meant to be hey what's up youtube i wanted to take a minute to show you this new um bar vice that i have on the website at monkeybeaver.com this is from a regular tree guy that makes these and i just kind of wanted to give him props and and show you how it works and tell you where to get it which is monkeybeaver.com but this is from a guy named eric strickland and let me read you what he writes about it really quick he says after eight years in the tree care industry i've started urban timber design with the intention of creating products that make the lives of anyone willing to get outside and work easier the timber vise was designed for mounting to your workbench truck bed trailer crane deck or anywhere else you can think of this little vice makes my life easier on a daily basis and i hope it will make yours easier too so these are made in america he's like right there out of his own barn type of a deal and he went through the trouble of doing you know packaging and stuff and bringing it to us so this one is pretty cool like you could just use it anywhere i'll show you how it works really quick so you could use it like this see just tighten up the nut on the bar there and uh give you some good stability right this is the wrong file for this uh i need a smaller file for this chain but you get the idea um also um if you're near like a wooden bench or anything one thing cool about this bar vise is you can get even greater stability he has a couple of holes in it oh i should have got a new battery okay so there's your you know pretty legit stability now he he's got a couple holes you know it's not rocket science still though pretty handy you're on your workbench or your crane deck or a stump or whatever and i noticed it was stable enough to use without the drill without the screws especially on a bigger saw but then when i went ahead and put these in it was even better so thanks eric strickland eric strickland's just another he's like us he's he's a he's a tree man with ideas right and he went through the trouble to actually do this and i wanted to promote him i want monkeybeaver.com to be a place for innovators people with legit ideas that go through the trouble to actually bring them to a place where they can be marketed and sold i want those people to have a safe place to bring those things and we'll promote the heck out of it so thanks eric this is the the timber vice hey quick interjection here i just want to uh show you some bonus footage from my last video because it got so long that i just i didn't show all the little bits of stuff we were doing and talking about but i thought some people might want to see this explanation of the back cut of that log that we dropped in there between the two obstacles so here's a little bit of explanation for those stump nerds that like to see hinge wood [Music] [Music] i was just telling damien what i did when i faced it and i thought well maybe you guys want to know it's a little bit interesting so as we're looking down the log from the stump the tree leaned kind of like this i faced it a little to the right see where it's laying i gunned it right here that's what i was looking at when i was sighting the tree right there right between the two four by fours is where i was pointing it so it's pretty dialed yeah i was leaning this way and then you got this sticking out anyway blah blah blah so you guys might have seen me come around to this side and do a little bit of work before i finished it off and that's because the bar was only coming this far so i stuck my bar in here and i just cut about to there because i wanted a little bit of hinge on this side not much but a little i didn't want it collapsing needed a little bit and then i used that side to pull it toward the fence and then right at the end there i cut it off so that's the uh that's the stump explanation for the stump nerds i'm here with lawrence schultz how you doing we're at the north american open masters competition and right now we're in the finals masters where the top four male and single female competitors are duking it out in the very last like grande finale challenge to see who's going to be the winner of this event out here in uh the valley of rogue river park valley of the rogue park just outside of grants pass here in oregon it's a beautiful day right now and we just got a hint of wind so we're trying to get this all done before the rain scoops in but we'll see so far a beautiful day fun event see people are turning out it's our little uh sport arborist super bowl so to speak good job they call me tree dog jd i'm from boston massachusetts i live in honolulu and all i do is i go to work up in these beautiful trees every day i just work nothing fancy get up there do my thing hey he was the first uh finalist competitor that we saw a little while ago yeah i follow him on instagram right on good times good people good event out here yeah chris did a great job setting this stuff up class act it's cool to meet you in person right on nice to see you yeah yeah i know lugio [Music] and friends i don't understand okay i use it like this exactly like okay you yeah yeah and then maybe sometimes you take it out this one and grab with your hands right right then you put this one and over to the other branches yeah and then you can take it out this and just stay safe all right yeah you're always tied in yeah i know what you're saying oh sometimes you put that so i'll set it up like that then sometimes you put the other rope this time right making like a big bowl and throw it yeah but you can stay safe like that yeah this one is much better yeah it's cool i like it all right i got it on video i should be able to copy it yeah like that it's like all right i got these parts at home yeah i'll set it up oh you want it this one it's okay no it's very useful no no no no no no no that's yours yeah yeah no thank you but uh i'll uh i got i've got a bunch of this stuff yeah i like it to the arena no i wish i had something to give him but all i have is a rambarista hat which clearly has yeah yeah thank you i can give you my shirt all right thank you yeah thank you appreciate it [Applause] does that look fun yes yeah that's pretty inspiring a lady climber in the finals huh yeah that's gonna be you huh very calm and precise young lady here so in case you're wondering what i mean by a safe place to bring innovation what i mean is a place you can bring it where they won't sell it for you for a while and then make a knockoff copy version of it because it's not fair when somebody goes through all the grassroots startup of a thing dreams it up goes through a lot of effort to bring a thing to a marketable place you know put it in your hand look at it use it that's worth something nobody should should and to have to go through patents and stuff to protect your stuff from people that are waiting like vultures to steal it it's all such a pain um i don't even mess with it we have trademarks and stuff but you can only go so far you just gotta realize creators create and vulture steel well there'll be no stealing at monkeybeaver.com if you have some innovation that you bring to us we'll sell it for you without worry of us looking for a way to make a knockoff version of the same thing it never happened [Music]
