hi my name is Joel ward and I am a comedy magician well I grew up in San Diego you know being a California and kind of an impromptu lifestyle I mean you think about it you know it's it's very laid-back I love yoga practicing yoga is very similar to practicing magic technique is very ancient and it's just adapting and changing certain postures or techniques to fit a modern time everybody but I'm sure Lord let's get into the magic Alison do you mind helping out for this right let's give her a big round of applause you had arena could borrow for this just one ring this is great okay okay this is great all right here we're gonna try a trick here there's gonna be a lot of fun Jimmy there with your right hand I want you to make a fist okay okay hold it out yes okay what we're gonna try to do is we're gonna try to make this ring disappear from this cloth it's gonna end up inside that hand okay okay here do me a favor I want you to pinch the ring through the cloth with okay you got it yeah thank you right there nice is gonna fool both of you all right here on the count of three one two three good though right yeah yeah yeah that was just that was just the quarter don't worry see I'm palming your ring in my right hand see it's it's right it's no that's crap that's the quarter cost house I grew up in the hood right I grew up in La Jolla California which is a beach community of San Diego and you know growing up in the hood was hard right I was I was heading for a life of surfing and carne asada burritos and the only way out was through sports as a kid I had to choose something so so I chose tennis and I thought we would try a little tennis trick this will be a lot of fun do you play tennis at all not well not well okay all right that's all right I'll tell you what here we have a couple of items here this will be great here do me a favor play a little game of tennis how about a little headband there or I'll take that quarter yeah I have another show tomorrow this will be great it's okay all right here we go here we'll get a little headband going and let's see oh yeah this is great okay let's see what else to play game of tennis we got a couple of tennis balls here do me a favor Alison just point to one anyone you like this one here the round one that yellow one nice choice right good call right yeah well a tennis balls are very rare and as a kid I would have to sign my name on them otherwise the other thugs would seal them so okay let's do this yeah I'm gonna have you just autograph that tennis ball you don't mind that'd be great okay cool that has nothing to do with the trick I just wanted your signature okay all right this is uh this is great how about a little happy face too this is a very okay happy you San Diego style trick okay cool all right so here we go sign tennis ball and let's see what else do we need to play a game of tennis we need of course oh yeah that's right a tennis net perfect okay here hold on to that okay uh yeah if you would just just hold it up a little lower yeah just up a little lower you're doing just great okay all right is fun okay all right Alison what we're gonna do is we're gonna take your sign tennis ball right we're gonna try to ricochet it off the back of the theater it's gonna land right there inside the net I got I got this all right here we can I get a little tennis city music all right up a little higher this is good I think I know what happened sometimes tennis balls deflate you know like like footballs in the NFL you know they sometimes deflate right here why don't you take that off here I'll take that back okay look I have a brand new tube of tennis balls in here why don't we just try this trick one more time here do me a favor can I get you to examine that can there and really check it out right make sure it's just a regular can of tennis balls you see the top there where it's sealed yeah can I get you to pop that open I also hate this part I also have my tennis partner do this and here I'll take the lid okay this is great and if you would go ahead smell them right smell-my smell them okay uh they're brand new okay this is gonna here pour them into the net there oh look at that oh three balls in the net let's see there's one signed ball is that your signature all right that's awesome right that's for you thank you yeah forgetting something well let's try this no way could it be maybe you probably that's my job right there's something in there yeah that would be good here let's try this here hold on to this okay I was I was online the other day and and I picked up this they said it was Oh Jay Simpsons this is just a cut-resistant Club actually it's for cooking so you don't cut your hand there any hidden compartments in there and he spots two placer rings or anything it's just a chainmail glove yeah okay great we also have this now are you left-handed or right-handed just push your right hand right there okay yeah just the fingerprints are great thank you so much all right no kidding okay no no here let's let's let's go in inside that ball there there is something inside okay let's do this here we'll just slice right inside hold out your hand do you do any more tricks today yes yes sports and some people say it look like somebody I know oh yeah that's right this is like an episode of How I Met Your Mother right no I get that a lot right all right Penn teller what do you think of our the actor he absolutely wins best costume ever run full of very few very few other magicians will show their legs sir and you're there you're you're full of oil you know it's always nice when you have a big bag on stage you can reach into that covers a multitude of sins what you have here is a couple of wonderful things you have a wonderful presentation of the bill in the lemon is it is essentially what that is yes and but a ring is better because the ring enough to have signed or anything we all know the way to vanish your ring in the handkerchief and having the thing we're all ready for something else for nothing to just get her across the stage where we could see it really funny really good it works kind of the same way it's just smarter and better and more deceptive to everybody but us and so I think we've covered it we can give you more but we'd like to just praise you and say that you fools
