trying to replicate on a much larger scale
with a cement mixer, Thank you David, is what
they call ringing the bell. The ringing the bell
method of peeling garlic. So, you got a garlic clove like this or a collection of them or whatever. First thing you're gonna do is you just wanna separate these to get them into their individual pieces but, typically, you gotta do that and then, you know, after that you actually have to... you still gotta a lot of peel on there if you wanna cook with them. Link, take that one right there and just kinda rip it apart. - Okay. Ahh! Ahh! - Whoa! The only thing you should
take out completely is the bottom part there. - Yeah, 'cause once you-- man, look at all those cloves. There's parts of California
you can drive through and it-- - Nothing but garlic.
- All you smell is garlic. - The call it the garlic fields. - The garlic fields. You know what they grow there? - Ironically, not garlic.
- Right. - Okay, so, put all these together. - I've never done this, have you? - And then you shake vigorously. No I haven't actually. Well, you know, onions and garlics are in the same family. Onions and garlics. - [Link] What? - Onions and garlics
are in the same family! - You wanna grind your goodies? What? - And then if you're real cool you can do the no look and just throw it right back in there. Okay... nobody saw that. Do you know that broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage... it's all the same thing? - What?!

are gonna be doing it now. Hold on, don't take it back yet! - Houston, we have an unpeeled onion. - Well, I mean, some of them you gotta keep going. Some of them gotta go all day. - Now, I think this one this is how it started dude. This is not peeled. - But look at what's happening here. - You're peeling it. - No, not really. You know what we might do? - Oh, look at that. I can-- - I got an idea though.
- I got an idea too. - Okay, I'm gonna do my idea. - I'm gonna do my idea
with this, watch this. Oh yeah, that's semi satisfying. - Look, I'm gonna cut the ends that are holding this down. Give these onions. I'm gonna cut the ends,
throw them back in there. That's one's ready to go, okay. I cut the ends, I put it on the edge you put it back in there. I think this will work. So, then all you gotta
do is cut the ends... What would you say what
about at this point? - I can't hear over
the sound of the mixer. (crew laughs) - Cutting the ends off... - Say 'what' one more time! Say it! Say 'what'! - Okay. And now, just put
these four back in there and turn it back on and
see if that method works. I'll throw them in there as I cut them. Turn it on again. - Please would be nice. - Turn it on again. - Say 'what' again! Huh-argh! Trying to give y'all a good look down the shaft of the barrel. - Okay, that's gonna work.
