what's going on everybody mortum here this time bringing you a look at the slayer class and pathfinder wrath of the righteous which is currently in beta so the slayer is a sort of assassin or bounty hunter type that said mechanically they're a bit of a combination of the rogue as well as the ranger with some pretty cool unique stuff to their own now they are a martial class they don't really do spell casting for the most part a couple of the archetypes dabble in it like a tiny bit but for the most part you won't really be dealing with anything spell like so with that out of the way for our base class for class skills we are looking at mobility perception athletics persuasion knowledge world stealth and lore nature now for proficiencies we will be proficient with all simple and martial weapons as well as with light and medium armor plus shields excluding tower shields now at level one our base slayer will pick up their like big cool thing that i really like about the slayer class and the thing that kind of makes them unique which is studied target so a slayer will be able to study an opponent they can see as a move action this will give them a plus one bonus on weapon and attack damage roles against it as well as increasing the dc's of slayer class abilities against that opponent by one however if a slayer deals sneak attack damage to a target he immediately studies it allowing them to apply these bonuses against that target including to their normal weapon damage now at 5th 10th 15th and 20th level the bonuses on weapon attack rolls damage rolls into the slayer dc's increase by 1 against their targets now typically at 7th level this will upgrade from a move action to a swift action however i will say from playing around with this a little bit personally i think the best thing to do is for the most part just rely on your sneak attack damage dealing this there are going to be situations where you can't deal your sneak attack damage and i think that's where you would want to actually use it as an action i would say you're probably gonna rely on your sneak attack to apply this most of the time and that brings us to our slayer talents so starting at second level and every two levels after we'll be able to pick up a slayer talent for the most part these are rogue talents you can also choose a ranger combat style which will give you access to the feats associated with ranger combat styles so the bulk of them are rogue and the ranger combat styles that's what these talents are however there are a couple that are specific to the slayer such as giving the vanguard archetype an extra use of their tactician ability but we'll get into what that is here in a bit it's a combination of talents from other classes as you can see here now at third level is when we start picking up our sneak attack anytime we would attack a target who is flat-footed that is to say losing their bonus to their armor class from their dexterity we will deal sneak attack damage which comes out at 1 6 of precision damage per sneak attack dice that we have so every three levels the base slayer class will pick up an extra sneak attack dice now you can get these from other sources which will stack them however there is a soft cap so to speak of sneak attack damage that you can do which is typically half your level rounded up of sneak attack dice so for instance at level three the most sneak attack dice i could have is two because half is of course 1.5 but then rounded up to two which would be our sneak attack dice at that point so just something to keep in mind but at level three is when we can start dealing our sneak attack damage so this applies to of course being invisible or just flanking your target which is typically the easiest way to apply it and then at 13th level we pick up slayers advance so once per day they will be able to increase their movement speed by 30 feet and this movement will not provoke attacks of opportunity then at 17th level you gain an extra use of this per day 14's level we pick up quarry as a standard action we can denote one target within our line of sight as our quarry we will receive a plus two inside bonus on attack rolls made against this target and all critical threats are automatically confirmed however we can only have one of these at a time then at 19th level that becomes improved quarry which will allow us to use quarry as a free action and our insight bonus to attack increases to plus four tenths level much like the rogue we will be able to start choosing advanced rogue talents when we pick up our slayer talents and at level 20 we can pick up master slayer as a standard action we can make an attack against a studied target at our full attack bonus if the attack succeeds the target will take normal damage plus must make a fortitude saving throw or just flat out die if the attack fails that creature is then immune to this effect for 24 hours and obviously if it succeeds they're just dead now that brings us to our first archetype the arcane enforcer so this one is pretty cool because it gives you access to some of the arcanist's abilities at the cost of some of your slayer talents we do not get any spells from this however there are some magic abilities here so first up we get access to the arcanist arcane reservoir which are basically points that we can then spend to use arcane exploits now i'm not going to go over this super in depth because i already have a video about the arcanist class and i suggest you check it out if you want a more detailed rundown of this specific mechanic but basically you'll get an arcane reservoir which will give you points to then use on your arcane exploits which you will also be able to pick up as this archetype now again if you're wondering what the arcane exploits are go check out my arcanist video but essentially they're just magical abilities that will cost you points from your arcane reservoir as opposed to using spell slots overall pretty awesome little change to the slayer because the arcanist exploits are pretty awesome at 11th level and every two levels after that the arcanist will be able to choose greater exploits in place of the regular exploits it's also worth mentioning that you will lose the quarry ability for this as well now that brings us to the deliverer so again the deliverer loses a few of their slayer talents but gain some things in response now for starters they get to pick a deity to warship this is mostly for flavor the deliverer is like an assassin for a god while an evil god would typically just employ an actual assassin good aligned gods would typically employ a deliverer though gods will do what they're gonna do so that said again this is mostly for flavor but it does affect a couple of things because whatever god you are serving has required alignments which then affects our determined zeal ability as well as the other one which we'll get into in here in just a second so at second level we will shrug off attempts made by our moral opposite to control or kill us on any round in which we attack an opponent whose alignment is at least two steps away from our own such as a lawful good character for instance fighting a chaotic good or lawful evil foe or a neutral foe with no other alignment components they gain a plus two bonus on will saving throws against that opponent's abilities as well as benefit from the die hard feed until the end of their turn and again that replaces a slayer talent and then at tense level we pick up divine anathema so at tenth level if our study targets alignment is two steps away from that of ours we will deal an extra 2x6 points of damage as divine power and this replaces our advanced slayer talent we would normally get at this level now that brings us to our executioner once again trading some slayer talents for some other things here so at level one we'll pick up focused killer our studied target bonuses and the dc's of saving throws against slayer abilities increased by one against humanoid opponents however it decreases by 1 against non-humanoid targets then at level 4 we pick up painful strike any target that takes our sneak attack damage must make a successful fortitude save or become sickened for a number of rounds then at tens level we pick up assassinate so this will allow us to attempt to instantly kill studied targets for the most part this works the way the kudegra ability that all characters get works but at 14's level when we kill an enemy with this all other enemies in a 30 30-foot radius become demoralized and then at 19th level if an enemy survives this attack they will actually still suffer 2-6 bleed damage and that brings us to our spawn slayer now the main thing here is they will never get to use their studied target as a swift action the trade-off for that is that they will get extra bonuses to really big targets for their studied target at 5th 10th 15th and 20th level on opponents of increasing size per those levels they will get additional bonuses against them so for instance at fifth level if the target is large or larger it will increase the study target bonuses by one tense level if the target is huge or larger they will increase the bonuses by two at fifteenth if it's gargantuan or larger the bonus is increased by three and so on now at seventh level they also gain gain leverage this will allow them to counteract their foes size so when performing combat maneuvers against studied targets that are large or larger they will gain a bonus equal to the creature's size modifier to their combat maneuvers so large will gain a plus one bonus uh huge would gain a plus two and so on so the spawn slayer will add the same bonus to their combat maneuver defense against maneuvers from those targets as well and that brings us to the stygian slayer this isn't fully implemented in game yet because you can't see the abilities however i do know mostly what this should change i just don't know how it's gonna wind up being implemented at the end of the day so for starters stygian slayers only get to use light armor instead of medium armor and i believe they're not proficient with shields if my memory serves moreover at fourth level they're supposed to pick up an ability called spell use which i believe is supposed to let them use like magic items as like regular spell casting i believe is what that's supposed to be i don't fully understand that one to be honest and then at tenth level what that ability is supposed to be is allow the slayer to turn into a vision blocking cloud for a number of minutes equal to i believe it's their level if my memory serves again but again that's not fully implemented in game so don't take that to like heart or anything they might change some of that stuff but that brings us to our last archetype the vanguard so the vanguard again trades slayer talents for other things so at second level we're gonna pick up a teamwork feat and we're also going to pick up vanguard tactician this is going to let us once per day as a standard action grant our teamwork feats to allies within 30 feet of us allies will retain the use of this bonus for three rounds plus one round for every two levels of vanguard you have however the allies do not need to meet the prerequisites for the bonus feats and whenever you're able to select a new slayer talent you can instead choose to gain an additional use of this per day like i mentioned at the start of the video so just kind of a cool thing they can do moreover at fourth level the vanguard will form a bond with their companions as a move action they can choose one of their current studied targets to grant half the study target bonus against that target to their allies which will allow them to of course share their studied target bonus with allies in its seventh level they pick up uncanny dodge which for the most part makes them immune to losing their ac bonus to dexterity or flat-footed in most situations however if they're immobilized or something it will still go into effect and that is gonna do it for the slayer class guys so overall i think it's a pretty cool ability if you want to use a more warrior focus class but kind of want some flavor to it i think this is a cool way to go i think it'll probably pair very well with the assassin prestige class but we'll get into that another time so i hope you got everything you wanted out of this video and that it gave you the information you were looking for truly just thank you guys so much for watching i hope you'll consider giving the video a like comment subscribe all that jazz it really does help me out it helps the channel out we are growing every day honestly just
