Overwatch, but I counter pick

today I'm going to utilize middle Ring's best strategy to win counter picking before I did a video about the counter picking people told me but you know you should have play tank that's where the counter breaking really is so let's start establishing who counters rule zorya against Eva so every time they pick a diva I pick a zorya every time they play doomfist what counters doomfist this is that I generally need your help with doom Road Hog maybe orisa seems like most of you are saying orisa so every time somebody picks a doom I'm going to pick orisa tell somebody's going to play junker Queen what will I pick against junker Queen okay some people say zarya Ryan like you know the crazy part is that people talk about counter picking you can't even give me a concise answer what he's countering what okay so zorya fair enough okay who counters Maan now that I need to know Diva you know what Diva makes sense you know Matrix all the shots let's go with D.A I think D.A would be fair who counters rard ratra and Arisa so let's sayra who counters Rog orisa C Rog you guys are saying orisa for everything literally every tank that I choose you guys are saying orisa so let's say Rog gets countered by Diva Sigma who counters Sigma Winston counters Sigma okay who counters Winston Diva hog I think we can all agree on hog who counters bow boom your arguments are shut down no counterpicking you know but but let's go with hog you know fair enough let's go with hog so we are only left with one character doesn't counter anybody apparently and that is doomfest so doomfest doesn't counter anybody counter Zen well I think that everyone counter Zen right let's say doomfist against junker Queen because we said zorya so let's switch to doomfist the problem with this idea is that the TS don't always One V one yeah that's what I'm saying I was top five out this account two season ago but it has gmmr so people can say that I'm playing in pla awward if you want to prove your point about counter swapping Mak a rank GM on some hero they have a lot of counters like bold that I did like Reinhardt that I did all right the problem the main issue the first the beginning is if you don't know what the enemy is going to go what do you choose all right so we're going to pick Diva we're going to see what they have and hopefully as soon as they die I can swap a character okay what do they have orisa okay I countered Ora you guys seeing it right here I think this experiment is going to be a fail because I'm just not going to die okay now okay zor is good against Orissa right cool okay come on on man that's actually a big n all right counter pick is working but maybe just maybe it could be that my Zar is way better than my uh Diva it's also an option okay okay Ora destroyed me which means that Ora counter Zar 100% not working now let me try play better but the thing about me saying let's try to play better is is fundamentally wrong because if you counter pick it's because you don't want to play better because you think a pick is going to help you the en robot okay how did I almost die to the tur like that what is this trying to focus the fors here doesn't seem to be working good purple though oh they have they counter me look they pick Winston they counter me and the funny thing is I'm 100% certain that I'm going to do so much better against a winon yeah look we win now I need a little bit more games to figure out maybe it was because of the counter picking or maybe it's because of the fact that I have 16k damage in 10 minutes but you know what's funny about this whole sequence of events that when I swap characters they all started swap swapping characters which that means they just played my game so let's start with Sigma here because this is a sigma map guys okay wait they pick malga and by the way I I don't know if you guys know I Canal oh they pick Winston yeah guys we have got to by by the rules they have monkey I got to play Roy Noob okay they have a reset because I play Ro it's so funny how this game works here like I pick a tank they pick a tank it's so funny does don't feel too different when I'm playing gun I'm got to be counters reinard orisa who counters ratra orisa who counters orisa she's meta currently cuz she counters a lot interesting so why are you in plat playing orisa I'm not saying specifically about you this proves at the very least that you picking a a counter pick which is Diva against AAR against Diva it's not immediate F if you play like garbage you will still lose okay this guy overextended he's his position my okay that was way too close but you can see I was struggling even though I'm playing Counter pick struggling okay they not that's good lost go no okay that was good that was a huge EMP I'll tell you why I said no I thought it was going to hit a lot closer to the to the ledge so we can win exactly this get destroyed surrend my will look I have 24K damage in 16 minutes 17 minutes I still really strug here even though we played against a diva some of you might say if they played a Rog I might have struggled and that it could be true love it so what did we notice that I've won five games out of six so I counterpick four games one of them I stayed the entire duration on Roto because I did not die even though they countered me so it's three games wins because of coun actually Four because of the last one I played sorry I can see but you can say it's about counters I lost one game even though I countered now unfortunately this my highest ELO account and some people were diamonds some people were Masters some people were former GM ons these are people beneath my skill level I'm going to be honest some games were easy me countering some games were easy without me countering some games were hard me countering some games were hard me getting countered so what do I think I think that counterpicking and rather rather you playing zorya against a diva is going to be easy for you to put forward damag in and get value just by taking the one V one matchup but if you notice this game even though this was like high diamond Masters mid Masters and possibly low GM some of them the enemy tank played monkey what did he do he just ignored me when I went roadog now what is really important to remember about this whole experiment is my tanks are good because I am a good player fundamentally understand how the fundamentals of OverWatch work I am very I'm exceptionally good with Rog why because I play the role of roog in my life but if you put me on malga for example even in Masters I will lose some games or rinting Masters I will lose some games because I simply do not have the game time but if I continue playing them they will become better and then I will exit my rank it doesn't matter what I will play but the vast majority of people who try to counterpick they might have one or two Heroes that are good at and the r are absolutely trash so if you're good good at roadhog for example you Swift to Diva when they have H I don't know you switching to zarya when they have a diva when your zarya is horrible you're not going to win you are not going to win because your zorya is garbage so can counterpick help you yeah it can help you if you're already really good what is really good top 10 if you're top 10 tank and you play against top 10 players and you're playing a top 10 Diva and there's a Zary against you yes you can swap why because it's going to be very hard for you to be significantly better than the enemy tank because you guys are at the Pinnacle of skill of that OverWatch has to offer now when you are in plat or damond or Masters you can be significantly better than your enemies because there's so much room to capitalize on their mistakes because there's such a big difference there's such a big ceiling in between Masters and the skill cap of the game we can take a Nuance approach we can say in general playing couns you will get value but it won't help you improve so even though you're counter picking you will not rank up that is the conclusion so it's better to invest time in one or two Kos that you like and just play into your counters because basically when you play into your counters you're you're learning the most even though you lost you can ask yourself what could have buy dump better and if you ask that enough times implement the feedback you will win eventually more than you lose doesn't matter what hero you play against because every time you're faced with adversity and you swap you're taking away your best learning experience [Music]
