Overland Camping, Enchanted Rock Formation, Texas

[Music] welcome to the anything goes project just recently got back from an excursion to the enchanted rock up near fredericksburg texas and the video you're about to see is some of the footage that i shot while i was there keep in mind this was all done on an iphone so stay tuned [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] hey [Music] them oh [Music] very big there you go big boy good boy [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] welcome to today's video as you can see i've been up and down a mountain all day checking it out getting some excellent shots uh two parts for this video one is going to be to talk about the the camping experience in enchanted rock texas it's a natural uh there are a state park here and i'll give the latitude and longitude so that way you can find it if you're interested in camping out in a place like this it is a primitive campsite uh many of the campsites you have to hike in uh upwards some of them upwards of two miles just to get to the campsite but they do have some that are closer directly to the rock and the dome and which i've spent all morning climbing all over and getting some excellent video footage and some really beautiful photographs so two parts to this like i said first part is going to be we're going to talk about a little product that was given to me or not given to me i did purchase it however the product wasn't looking to actually arrive until after i was already done with this trip so i contacted the company and one of their spokesman contacted me back and i told him i said look i do uh youtube videos and stuff like that a lot of times i like to review items that i may have recently purchased or have that have been sent to me and i said look i'm about to go off grid for a pretty good while and i was really hoping to have one of these power stations that you guys sell and he was like okay well if you can i said i've already ordered it i said the problem is according to the shipping it's not going to be here until after i'm already halfway through my trip and he uh he was very understanding and he sent me an email back and said look we will take care of this you will have the product before you leave and they started true to their word and this first time i've had a company that actually did actually stay true to their word on this uh they over or next day fedexed it to me so the power station is by blue eddy and it's not it's not their big 1500 watt or anything like that i just needed a 700 watt so that was going to be able to recharge my batteries phone and stuff like that and they sent it to me and so far i've been using it three days and today was the first day i've actually hooked it up to the solar charger or to the solar panels i've got 460 watt solar panels that are charging it as we speak at the campsite and i think it only got down to 40 percent in those three days and that was running lights uh running different things my ipad my computer along with uh charging the phones multiple times because i'm i'm experimenting a lot with filming on phones on the specifically iphones and so gotta constantly charge those up i've got a couple of them that i use and that i rotate back and through back and forth with so we're gonna be doing a little bit more of a review on their product the blue eddy 700 watt power station and uh other than that i just wanted to kind of show you guys some of the natural scenery located where i'm at and as you can see check that out oh yeah some beautiful rock structures all the way around me man and that sky it is crystal clear out right now and let me tell you this morning i woke up it was in the 30s low 30s like 31 32. uh it was a little chilly put on just baja and some pants i've got my insulated rock climbing pants i put those on and by the time i reach the top of the dome i was hot and it was still cold outside but we went ahead and went through with our hike and got everything done uh my son he's out right now hiking one of these areas i have no idea he didn't tell me where he was going but he's around one of these trails right now and it's we're just having a really good time out here we're going to be here probably for the remainder of the week so it gives me a lot of opportunity to test out that power station and bring you guys some video footage so with that let's march on to the next location see [Music] okay so i'm actually about to head up this pass right here i've been noticing a lot of lizards and stuff sunning themselves [Music] take a look back there at that rock formation in the back [Music] a lot of these rocks have over the years have carvings in them and i believe it's from the native americans that used to live in this area but it looks like a bear pop actually carved into the face yeah this is a completely beautiful area but at the same time if you're gonna do this kind of hiking wear some thick pants i don't know if you can see that or not brushed up against the prickly pear um taking a little small breather break from climbing all the way up here and to pick all these out of the pant leg before they end up going through and poking me like that one just did so yeah pay attention to your footing careful what you do and respect the uh i've noticed sad to say i've noticed a lot of these areas and stuff right now i've seen people come in they just drop trash and leave bring it in with you take it out with you just a common common courtesy common sense also it's illegal to litter in national park so don't do that so other than that we're going to be heading up that one next whoops wrong way that one yeah doesn't look like much that's a steep incline [Music] uh [Music] so [Music] so ladies and gentlemen this is my view just kind of chilling up here on top of this mountain right now enjoying it sitting down relaxing watching the sun go down i'll have to get off of the mountain though before the sun sets because this is a national park and they have a restriction they don't want anybody on the dome park at night because they've had too many okay one more cool thing check out that fault line that runs out of where this mountain is split right there several of them throughout this area that i've been noticing you can see this work naturally just kind of split and split all the way up okay guys check this out all that neon green liking that's up here you follow it along and eventually turns to a turquoise color that is so beautiful okay i've come down this far now we're going to check out my exit strategy so i want to show you guys some of these crevasses that are in here they run all the way down to there so my goal is i'm going from there to there to there to there there okay made it down i have some rough terrain i cut my finger too time to head back to camp start getting dinner going some fajitas [Music] do so [Music] you [Music] now [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay just sitting on the edge of this cliff you can kind of see good place to get grounded it's not a slab of rock such a beautiful area beautiful place look up underneath there that slab a bunch of quartz great little fine and i'm pretty sure over the years people have chipped out some pieces here and there which is yeah it's okay just don't take too much further down you get starts getting into that pink coloring right there okay check that out right back there in that clearing yeah see those one two three does or yearlings it looks like they're real young welcome to the video we went on uh the enchanted rock well i can't english today what
