Overanalyzing Naruto: Genin Takedown; All Nine Rookies Face Off

this is the third episode of The Arc where they've had the kanji for Shinobi as the opening shot of the episode Glad You Came Sakura for your sake and the others I hate how chunky Sasuke looks in this shot like what the [ __ ] is that you see only groups of three are allowed to apply for and take the exam it's kind of weird that he decides to tell them this now cuz like what if they fail so when they take it again they might be pressuring someone to take it with them and in a later scene we get told that it's pretty normal for candidates to take the exam more than once I don't get it at the same time I didn't want you feeling obliged to participate because of any feelings you might have for Sasuke or Naruto good safe Kakashi she doesn't already make it obvious you're completely right good luck we won't let you down Sensei believe it why do they do like this switching sides motion and why does Naruto look so [ __ ] chunky in this oh my God gee I guess we're not alone you see that guy with three things on his back he actually shows up one more time where have you been boy you have no idea how much I was hoping you'd show up here I've missed those brooding good looks of yours Eno should be in [ __ ] prison right now she's sexually harassing Sauk and just getting away with it oh my days hey you know what pipsqueak I forget it you're a waste of time Chikara always complaining never knowes anything about it the laziest kid in the academy these intros for all the other genning are interesting and all of their first lines give at least one character trait while Naruto's description will give them more character traits for example shikamaru's first line says this I knew this was going to be a drag but I didn't know it was going to be this lame this shows he's lazy and unenthusiastic and his descriptions show that more also the most important character from each team is mentioned first Shikamaru from inoshikacho and Hinata from whatever team number they are I don't give a [ __ ] Chi doesn't have a first line he just eats which pretty much encapsulates his character sorry but sas's all M Eno's first line is about as good as her character oh hi [Music] N I think you should know at this point I think characters who are basically just love interests are just boring but I will say that I think heat is intro is at least better than saker's and Eno solely for the reason that she's shown to be shy and not as outgoing while sakera and Eno are practic the same character just soccer has more personality maybe I'm just biased or something I don't know inuka and hisamaru forget what I said about Eno this guy's the most annoying of all and finally I get to talk about this kba specifically his face paint and akamaru are inspired by the studio gibl JBL the studio what the [ __ ] do I call it the studio gibl movie princess Mon and Oak specifically the characters son and Morrow I've said it before I love that one of the biggest animes of all time has clear Inspirations from equally legendary pieces of work what do you think we've been doing sitting around Picking Daisies you'll actually noticed in the background that some of the other people taking the tuning exams are looking at the rookies before kabo even mentions it akamaru's looking plumper juicier what do you want I really like this moment for like no reason like I just think it's cool [ __ ] you I like I can like things okay thought maybe you hadn't seen it huh didn't want you stepping on it why sho's voice actor is different from the one we know later I don't want to assume why he was replaced but if I could guess it's probably cuz he sounds like he's 30 and the character is 12 why does bro have two headbands on see those guys they're from the rain Village very touchy they all are this is a [ __ ] genius line and I don't even think you get it spoilers for shapon real quick specifically pain and the penult arc by the time tuning exams are happening pay would have already been the person in charge of the Hidden rain so these people are under Pain's control at this point kabo is a roaro spy and Orochimaru was a part of the akatski so he knew about pain this can also extend to kabo knowing about pain because he was aochi maro's right-hand man kabo is literally putting the idea in people's heads that the rain Village is a bunch of on-edge people that you shouldn't side with which would help Orochi Mar out in the end [ __ ] genius this isn't the first time you've taken the exam no it's my 7th huh kabo is literally a super senior lock him up wow a veteran you must really be an expert by now yeah sort of cool you can give us all the inside tips yeah some expert he's never passed well he's right with my ninja info cards what the heck it's hard to explain but these cards have been chakra encoded with everything I've learned over the past four years it actually makes perfect sense for kabo to have these cuz you know he's a by so I did the math in the top right it says there's 153 people taking the exam or 51 teams keep that in mind as we do this Arc I'm going to be talking about it also something you'll notice is that there's hidden stone village and hidden Cloud Village land on this map but they didn't take the tuning exams balance of power big deal it's all a drag I've been pretty much a dick to every character at this point and I figured it'd be fair to point out something that I don't like about my favorite character I don't like how much he says stuff like this it's almost like they're trying to force his character a little too hard sometimes there you go you can say I'm not biased anymore his teammates are tenen and nii Huga huh Huga Huga now for gar of the desert I think gar being a mystery to even someone who has info on everybody is really cool like up to this point we have three groups of people while not antagonists yet they're definitely people who oppose team7 so gar being a mystery makes him stand out to us the [Music] viewer a my name is Naruto uzamaki and I'm going to beat every one of you two things number one this works really well with Naruto's character like what sort of main character would he be if he didn't rise above the pressure that he just faced for a show like Naruto and when I mean a show I mean a 2000 Shonen it' make more sense that Naruto rises above this and doesn't struggle with his confidence so this is a very good moment for him and the second thing this is going in the Naruto [ __ ] moments tier list mark it for forehead half her face who the [ __ ] made this guy a ninja and don't say you don't know who I'm talking about what do you reckon his name is like Sneed you heard what he said about the hidden sound Village he called us little a mystery I heard I say we teach this guy some manners yeah you're going to hear me throughout this Arc talk about how cool the sounding are besides a couple fights and a couple other characters I think team dosu might be my favorite part of this entire Arc all of them are cool in my opinion even if Keane might be a little boring her JSU is still cool and you're just lying if you're saying it's not Naruto you jackass this is the first recorded cuss word of Naruto and there's a couple more this is also the first recorded funny joke from Sakura I think this is the first so mark it so I'm not the only one that sees this right write this on your little card Punk the gon from The Sound Village will be tuning when this is over guaranteed this episode is definitely better than the other three so far but I still don't really think it's that good it's just too stretched out for me like these last four episodes could have easily been too but definitely this episode and last episode are the least skippable and I think they're definitely still worth a watch there's official intros to a lot of people that are important there's some good jokes there's a lot of this episode that I enjoy but I always think to myself damn this could have been done in half the time anyways next episode start your engines the tuning exam begins [ __ ] finally like holy [ __ ]
