Overanalyzing Naruto: You Failed! Kakashi's Final Decision

okay here's a disclaimer if you have any positive feelings towards the original Sakura character like Sakura and the original Naruto I'm sorry but I'm absolutely going to kill her this episode this is my chance he finally dropped his guard okay I'm nitpicky Sasuke thre two shuriken and four kunai but the substitution clearly got hit by seven shuriken and three kunai now that I'm thinking about it how would one even throw that all at once we know they're all thrown at the same time because they all get hit at once so how did Sasuke throw 10 separate ninja tools at the same time SAS s where'd you go don't tell me Kakashi since I found you no he can't capture my Sasuke I won't let him okay I'm going to buy saker's character I said I was going to do it every time she has a line it's either involved on hating on Naruto or loving Sasuke which gets old super quickly it also makes her character feel very service level and boring the only thing that we know about her so far that doesn't involve our two main characters is that she has this hidden Diva side to her I really wish they touch on that side of her more and dwell deeper into it but they don't really They Don't Really in shapin either I'm happy that she blossoms out though [Music] SAS Sakura help me please help [Music] me I think I overdid it a bit but she's got to learn to see through these things also isn't soccer supposed to be really good at seeing through genjutsu why is she so [ __ ] bad like she's honestly a worse ninja than Naruto at this point and she probably was before even knew Shadow clones I'm calling it now Sakura versus Naruto pre-academy exams Naruto is winning and it's not close I promise I'm not going to be hating on her character the entire time by the way I know it's a joke that she's useless but like she actually has her moments and I'll happily Point them out a trap what did y'all notice that that Kashi actually puts his book down when he's fighting Sasuke i' didn't on my first watch through or my second or my third or my fourth or my fifth or my sixth he also seems to be sweating a bit while fighting him it's pretty cool this fight is like the first actual fight in Naruto 2o unless you're counting Naruto's attempt this is the first one that actually has interesting JSU and it's honestly still pretty cool to watch after like my millionth watch through so's little Tai Jutsu thing here is really interesting and gets me every time this is a good fight for early [Music] Narto huh hey what are those things down there how high up is Naruto there's no way the trees coton is that high up right there's no way horse tiger fire Style Fireball Jutsu Sasuke Burns a decent sized hole in the ground would fire even do that also Kakashi subtly brings up that Sasuke already knows a high Chalker expending Jutsu gen can't do fire Jutsu but I can't ever seem to remember if Sasuke uses any fire style Jutsu and then becomes fatigued after Fireball JSU I don't know why but the tone and pitch in sas's voice showing that he's still a kid is still kind of cool to me I don't know why SAS you're okay hey cut it out let go let go I know I said I wouldn't complain about her character too much but I'm going to do it again Sasuke you're still trying to get one of those bells has it not crossed her mind that she also needs a bell or is she just Sasuke's minion her saying you're still trying to get one of those bells can work in two ways one cuz inm Sasuke is so great he should have a [ __ ] Bell or the second way which is the way I interpret it Sakura as a character is so [ __ ] surface level and so Bland that getting a bell for herself was never even an option I'll never get my hands on one of those things cuz she's so obsessed with Sasuke which means Sasuke will pass and I won't and we be seated forever and if she ever tries to get a bell she would have tried to done it to impress SAS and then Flex on arto later no no she has no drive like the other two so she was sidelined from the nature of your own character I praise the writing at some points but like this is actually terrible it's almost lunch this is the first time where shown the shenon if my memory serves me right and we see it on Itachi or at least what's supposed to be Itachi I'm the only one who can destroy that person what who you mean the Sensei that day I was crying when were you crying it was my what what happened to you I am an Avenger that means I must be stronger than my prey I need this training there's no time for setbacks I know I ranted about Sakura but I'll kind of sort of Praise her character here her cluelessness sets up a little tidbit of Sasuke's backstory and essentially Sakura acts as the viewer here I wasted too much time it's a loud ass alarm Bell I'm going need one of those cuz I'm not waking up in time for anything what I passed all I did was faint and fall over she's [ __ ] aware on how [ __ ] she is this is the best joke in this episode so far all three of you are being dropped from the program permanently okay if this actually happened I wonder what could happen I honestly think Sasuke would still become a rogue ninja and I think Naruto would still try to become Hokage cuz he's a stubborn character SAS you think it's all about you damn he got dropped this episode does another fantastic job showing how powerful Kakashi truly is and I mean it does a fantastic job I love it this episode made me fall in love with Kakashi's character you don't know what it means to be a ninja you think it's a game huh all right but Kakashi's eyes don't match his tone and it kind of annoys me why do you think we put you on squads did you consider that question for one moment I don't know what you mean I mean you never realized what this exercise is all about not even close what it's about yes that's what determines whether you pass or fail but that's I mean I wanted to ask you about that from the beginning use your head three people on a squad why do you think we would do that Kakashi lecturing them about teamwork has always hit the right note for me it makes perfect sense why he has an angry tone because it would be something so obvious but for people who have rewatched all of Naruto and Naruto shapin it can also be seen as tough love I'm going to say spoilers right now for narosa pin so if you haven't watched it yet go to this time stamp I'll give you a couple seconds okay so this is like 100% tough love towards them or at least towards Naruto and Sasuke Sasuke is Itachi's brother and for people who already know Kakashi worked with Itachi and the AMU and felt some sort of guilt towards him killing all the a so he naturally doesn't want Sasuke to [ __ ] up and wants him to be the best in just so he can achieve his goals and for Naruto him being the fourth hok's kid- in-law and the fourth okag was training Kakashi he probably feels some sort of responsibility to be the same kind of Mentor Mino was to him but to Naruto he wants these two to succeed cuz he's had relationships with people that are connected to them one way or another so them not cooperating is also probably a little infuriating for him too did you look at this Stone the names engraved on on it they are all ninja who are honored as heroes in our village that's it that's it that's it now I know I've decided I'm going to have my name engraved on that stone I'm not going to live and die for nothing like a dog I'm going to be a hero a hero they are a special kind of hero huh what kind of Heroes are they come on tell us well well they're all Kia ooh that sounds real cool it means killed in action they all [Music] died this is a memorial stone the names of my closest friends are engraved [Music] here this scene hits so hard and in my opinion is one of the best in the whole original Naruto I have a lot to say about the scene so get ready while Kakashi is doing a speech about missions and how they can turn into life or death situations quickly he can't help but think about the two certain people on that stone if you watched audtin you know who I'm talking about I won't go more into detail for now but the Dilemma he brought up was somewhat similar in the end result to the Dilemma he faced then Naruto said he wants to be in that list without knowing what that list is with Kakashi telling him after a couple seconds of Silence I mentioned it in the third episode The Silence can be just as powerful as the actual dialogue and these few moments of Silence make the scene perfect and then when Kakashi tells Naruto their Kia and he says it with such a somber tone it makes it hit that much harder then Naruto realizes what it means and his emotions shift very fast then Kakashi is saying his closest friends are engraved on that [ __ ] Kone like that's genuinely sad it's insane how the scene is and is definitely one of if not my favorite scene in the original Naruto Uka listen to me huh whether they pass or fail you must not blame [Music] Kakashi here you pass this part's really cool it's a good payoff scene after the big [ __ ] lecture they just got and it shows how they were actually listening to some extent and with aruka and the third hok's dialogue about Kakashi never passing anybody it makes the payoff that much more sweet by the way have I already said that the Naruto soundtrack is like the best ever let me say it again and hopefully I forget again so I can remind you in the future about how [ __ ] good it is three moving thunderstorm pngs moving across the screen also soly showing Kakashi knows lightning Styles in the Ninja World those who break the rules are scum that's true but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum hey it's yeah iconic line from Kakashi that I think everyone knows you know the one that he uh [ __ ] stole from his dead friend I'm joking don't get mad at me let's go home I knew they do this it happens every time believe it you guys forgot to untie me and a funny joke to wrap it out I usually based if an anime is at least interesting or not with its first five episodes since those are usually when the basic [ __ ] is introduced and my first time watching Naruto I can definitely say it got my attention I did this as a two-parter for obvious reasons but I think the second part is better than the first part we get a Cool fight scene and one of the best scenes that an anime has to offer along with this being the last introductory episode I know I ran it a lot in this episode especially about Sakura and I'm sorry for that but I felt like I had to say it here cuz it would have felt out of place if I said it anywhere else I'm happy to say that I do think Sakura's character slowly gets better over time and I'll point it out at those parts but for now her character [ __ ] but did you notice something in this episode something good yes no magic ball we're saved this is good all and all best episode out of the first five next up A Dangerous Mission journey to the Land of Waves we're in the zza arc now let's [ __ ] go
