Our Default Position At Conception

the Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear the Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid when the wicked even my enemies and my for the virus comes on my hard way to eat up my flesh they stumble and before I want to place a disclaimer here at the beginning of this new sermon because I'm about to wade into waters that are treacherous for me because I want to talk to us a moment about our default position from conception our default position from conception I want to say alien territory for me because I have not yet joined the 21st century I am NOT computer literate I don't know anything about iPads iPhones I just want a phone that rings when somebody calls and and hang up when I'm tired talking I'm not yet caught up to technology and the 21st century I don't see nothing wrong with writing a letter but people email and text and tweet and and all of that is foreign to my psyche because I'm not nowhere near being in the vicinity of being around the corner near the area of knowing anything about computers so I had to temporarily hire some research assistants to help me navigate this little sermon I want to try to preach this morning about our default position from conception computers untold by people who know come from the manufacturer in default position the hard drive is in the ROM setting rom is read on memory Adam who was created in the image and the likeness of God is the only one of God's creatures came written in the wrong setting neutral no defects a blank slate absolute perfection but since Adam failed his progeny his children you and I are born no longer in the ROM City but in the RAM city rom is blank slate read on memory RAM is random stuff added jumbled up mixed up it's in there but it has to be program everybody born since Adam comes out of the womb in rebellion we are not born and then get bad we are bad in the womb we come out of the birth canal with Cinna stamped on our forehead david says in psalm 51 and verse number 5 behold I was born in sin I wish I had a Bible reader shaped in iniquity in sin did my mother conceive me we are born not in readon memory not a blank slate we come out of the womb pre-programmed to rebel against God we are born wrong I wish I had a witness it you don't have to teach children to lie you don't have to teach them how to bite and the scratch and the be selfish you don't have to teach them how to say mine and know those words are automatic teach them how to cuss they'll pick that up from the folk they around but before they can talk they can dance come on come on talk back to me here because they are born with a sinful proclivity they come out of the box from the manufacturer in default the spiritual state of everyone outside Christ is death I don't care where you from from Barcelona to Baltimore to be route from from Houston to Hong Kong from Peoria to Peking from Dallas to Dubai from Austin to Australia the Apostle Paul's description is not that some of us are particularly decadent and some of us are extremely corrupt rather it is the biblical diagnosis of fallen man in fallen society everywhere and he applies the adjective day and you who were made alive but before you were made alive you were dead he employs the adjective dead figuratively to describe the state of being lost or under the Dominion of death so our default position at birth is number one we are born dead I'm not talking about spiritual death we are born dead spiritually I wish I had a witness it nobody is born good nobody is born right everybody that God lets be born is born a sinner talk back to me she can I heard Richard Gere on the view the other week saying that he does not believe in intrinsic evil he does not believe that there's such a thing as evil he said people are just misguided but they are not evil that that made me think that I cannot be a proponent of evolution because evolution means progress that you start low and evolve from a law life-form to eventually a man that is the highest life form but I start what the Bible teaches the Bible teaches that we did not evolve we did not start low and go high but rather we devolved we started high and came down low Adam was created in absolute perfection in the image and the likeness of God but when sin came into the picture Adam became marred and less than what God had created and everybody born since Adam is less than what God created we are not dying we are dead you cannot know God in your fallen default position because you were pre-programmed in your mother's womb to run from God not only are we dead but Bible says we are followers of the world we were dead in trespasses and sins verse 2 says in which you once walked according to the course of this world you can't get mad with people in the world who ain't got no sense jesus said they are like sheep having no show and we who have been redeemed it's our responsibility to get out of these holy convocations on Sunday morning and go on our jobs go in our communities go on the streets and tell somebody who are now like we used to be check what you're getting because church has a way of making you forget what you used to be being in church a long time can make you forget that there was a time when you didn't know God when you walk after your own flesh and your own lusts and you've been shouting and praising God so long that sometimes you forget that you were on your way to hell the only folk who can shout on preaching the honor folk who can shout in the presence of God or folk who remember what they used to be I see you I see you trying to call dignified and trying to pretend you so holding and you in this pulpit are you in that quiet stand or you in these little chairs right here in the front are you standing with your white dress on the fifth Sunday I see you you have always been what you are right now at one time you were dead in your trespasses and in your sins and the only reason you praising God now is because that's what you used to be I don't have to wait til Sunday morning to praise God for my deliverance I was dead I walked after this world but coming I'm kind of getting ahead of myself I'm kind of I'm kind of hitting everything let me let me let me let me slow down and let me slow down let me slow down slow down let me let me slow down we were dead yet that's our default position we were followers of the world and then thirdly we worship the devil it's right here in verse number two in which you once walked according to the course of this world according to the Prince of the power of the air Satan is the Prince of the power of the air we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers against spiritual wickedness in high places the devil permeates every section of this society the school is correct the government is corrupt talk back to me head cynic associations are corrupt fraternities are corrupt sororities are corrupt your house is corrupt everything we put our hands on when we touch it we corrupted there is none right no not even one we worship the devil and I'm going to talk about you got a little red man with a pitchfork and long tail and you bow down in subjection to him anything that is not true worship of God is idolatry and devil worship when you put your job in front of God when you put your wheel in front of God talk back to Michigan when you put what you want in front of God's worship you are worshiping the death I had to figure that out I had to ask God to help me figure that out because I had to change because God decided he wasn't going to change my condition I'm gonna have to live with this brain tumor the rest of my life and so my prayer had to change I stopped praying for God to move it my prayer is now help me be a witness with it since you not gonna take the fall I wish I had somebody to help me here it's in my flesh it's bothering me and I've been to your sufficient number of times to ask you to move it but since you said no help me to recognize your grace is sufficient so most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of God may rest upon me so that when I am weak then Emma teach me how to worship with the fall teach me how to praise you with the song teach me how to give you glory in my infirmities is there anybody here know that God will empower you with your song I'd stop praying about these sickness and change my prayer because I noticed that my sickness had become my focus and my focus has to be the glory of God and so God if you get glory out of my sickness right on changes if your name can be praised cuz you got me off my sickbay put me down again if you please whatever you want to do to get glory out of my life my prayer is I'm in your hand and listen listen listen you got to have faith to pray like that you got to go through some stuff to pray like that because the only way you can talk like Paul talk you got to go through some stuff Paul said I know in whom I have believed I wish I had a Bible reader and I know that he's able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day I know that all thing work together for good to them that love God I know that if this earthly House of this Tabernacle is dissolved I have another bill a house not made with hands but eternal in the hill I know how to be a bound I know how to be a base I know how to live with I know how to live without I can do all things anything that prevents God from getting glory is worshipping the devil your sickness your trouble your heartbreak your your mountain your obstacle cannot be your focus because if that thing becomes the focus then God can't get the glory you got to take your focus off that problem and say God get glory out of that situation in our default position we were dead followers of the world worshipping the devil and then fourthly we were driven by our appetite the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind we were driven by our appetite in our default position we eat what we want to eat say what we want to say live like we want to live act the way we want to add because we are by our very nature disobedient we think we know what's best for us we want to have it our way we don't want no preacher on Sunday morning standing before us telling us what to do pull the pickles hold the relish we want to have it our way we want to decide our own course because we are driven by our sinful nature our appetite is bent towards disobedient I know what's right but I do wrong anyway I know I'm not the only one in here Moo got their testimony I know what I ought to do but I don't do it come on talk back to me I know what the will of God is but I walk contrary to it because I want to satisfy my appetite now y'all sitting here acting like you've never lusted for something you couldn't have you never desired something that you couldn't have but I'm not talking to you you just go right back to sleep I'm talking to somebody in here who who know that the devil got a strong pull on your life that you know to do what's right but your mind roams in another direction now I know your wife is here and you can't say Amen but in your own heart just see large you're telling the truth the good that I would do I find myself not doing and the evil that I don't want to do that's what I do all ratchet man I wish I had a witness it I need somebody here who's been struggling with sin and temptation and the devil the lusts of the flesh the pride of life the lust of the eyes if you struggling with that you in good company you got some company I see you got some company I said you got some company cuz every day I struggle with pleasing God because it is just in my nature to be disobedient we were dead I'm talking about our default position followers of the world worshipping the devil driven by our rafts by appetite and then finally he says we are children a wrath we deserve condemnation we ought to be in the grave we all deserve hell but God let me get back to my computer analogy we are born in default position and then Graham is on our hard drive we are programmed from birth to do wrong because we are children of Wrath sons of disobedience thank
