Orcs & Goblins vs The Empire Warhammer Fantasy 8th Edition Battle Report

Hello everybody welcome back to another Warhammer fantasy 8th edition of battle report today Johnny Payne is back with some more Scene goblins in an unconventional this to take on my Empire in a 2000 Point battle report leading this list is a general of the Empire on an imperial Griffin we do have full plate armor the iron cursed icon for just in case an older blade in the Talisman of preservation the Griffin is upgraded to have a blood Roar and we also have a shield we usually put a lot of points on characters we only have a level two wizard a lore of Beast uh on a war horse with a dispel scroll and the ruby ring of ruin we have a captain of the empire to be the Army battle Center Bearer in full plate armor on a barded steed all that kind of stuff I like the sort of might in a Talisman of Endurance on this guy we also have a warrior priest with a great weapon on a war horse but he also has the armor of meteoric iron over in core we have 25 spearmen with full command and two units of 12 handgunners we also have a unit of nightly orders Inner Circle Knights 10 of them with full command over special we have two units of five pistol ears with the Champions and musicians repeater pistols all the Champions obviously and then finally one steam tank in this list to make up two thousand points of the empire all right we've got 2 000 points Of Orcs and some goblins today led by The Savage orc great Shaman level four with the shrunken head we've got a black orc big boss on a boar he's going to be the BSB got two Goblin big bosses on wolves light armor Shields got a 30-man unit of savage orc Biggins in special we've got three Goblin wolf chariots three orc board chariots and a 10-man unit of boar boys then in rare we have two Doom diver catapults a goblin Rock Lobster and a higante all right while we are deploying I want to point out you may have noticed that Johnny Payne's list looks a little odd we are deciding not to follow the old regular rules for creating lists we want to do some fun things and just you know play with what we want we have a little less core than we should but who cares we've got boar boys on the table uh remember to like comment and subscribe it is actually super helpful I know you guys are so used to hearing that but you have no idea how much it helps Drive uh you know retention and uh just just uh engagement so comments for algorithm for battle line I already vanguarded up my pistol ears a little bit I want to stay safe from chariots but all my calf characters inside the unit of cab obviously General hiding in the back lines in the steam tank all by himself holding the flank against a giant I just don't throw three chariots and only one or for a big boss and a wolf everything else is uh in the center basically uh you have one oh it's a thousand other character back here there's one more yeah okay sir I think I finished playing first yes this is Roth she's gonna go first I get the plus one I have I'm going first these are my dice that's fair sorry sir you have your day's back the start of my turn I'm gonna try to generate four steam points and I don't so I'm Gonna Roll a D3 so one and I'll add the four steam points to try to generate it's not too bad I'm just gonna lose D3 steam points well you got one left okay well we're not gonna move we're not going to use any steam points in the move phase uh over here charger declare nope so let us start moving a little bit so we've marched one hanger unit this way to help both the steam tank marched on up a little bit we've moved the pistolars just from 12 of Chariots moved the knights in behind to kind of protect the pistolars when they flee and then my general not Carl it's flying this way ready to help out oh Coral time for the Windsor Magic off with eight dice with I have I think two channels nothing for me nothing for you we're gonna cast wild form on these guys in case you do some crazy weird successful things well let's say we lost well uh we're gonna put um award safe from the priest on this unit here am I gonna throw your dates because I got nothing left and yeah you saw it didn't expect that shooting time we have a couple things to shoot horse off with the steam tank uh I can only have one steam Point left to use so we're gonna fire off a cannonball 12 inches away right there I'm gonna go right for that giant it's gonna misfire [Music] come on I'm gonna lose D3 wounds only one we're down to nine and then we'll shoot the rifle at the uh giant as well it hits it doesn't do anything this guy's gonna this unit is gonna fire into this chair over here four of them are gonna Fire Two Pistols each uh range in multiple shots look for sixes oh okay and then the sergeant is a repeater pistol so uh fives two hits five's the wound one wound um I think you have a six of save against this and you're all six will look it up no there's one wound taken I'm gonna do the three or the same thing over here but into the goblin chariot so sixes and fives and four through on this one oh nothing didn't matter that is a very successful Empire turn one oh my dude this time before Chargers declare we're gonna remember animosity I think you have only two units that can possibly fail so Savages don't care Poor Boys ooh do you have a is that a black one he's a black D6 string five hits oh no threes to wound five up armor save after all the modifiers okay only two die could have been a whole lot worse there's animosity for you all right sir any charges declare I'll let you think about it so we have this aboard boy declaring a charge I am definitely gonna get out of here everybody knows this ooh not very far spent a lot of time thinking about it no other charges to declare this one's rough I wish I rolled a little bit a little bit farther away a 10 can get you in three days highs too and oh I feel real good about that because I could have caught them killed them and overran past my uh my forces tunneling up four inches but doing their job good job buddies not like your steam tank brother over there and then we got remaining moves we'll show you where everything kind of ends up after the first turn of movement I shouldn't he's just gonna get shot so yeah feel free to adjust that I'm gonna go explain all this yeah so uh chairs moving up in a way where like I these are all protecting them because if I charge them with these guys there's enough room for them to get through so well protected over here with the move up pushing through the Gap over here into the melee stuff a couple chairs are switching over and so is this guy hiding behind the building getting ready to plank stop the tank and one Chariot moving one chair pushing giant pushing thing shoot me just shoot me who's the Magic I like that I have two channels for no help nothing for you what's first three into hand three and a hand oh is this one of your movie unit uh who are you targeting so this is the targeted unit they can declare charge next turn anyway I don't think there's necessarily a bad thing for me to let this happen yeah I'm gonna let this happen no well the thing is like I can stop it maybe with four dice but if I really want to stop it I don't want to waste it up until five but almost 20 keeping one but if you scroll it it's guaranteed yeah but I'm worried about the foot how many days you got left geez look he scared me all right you know what we're gonna do no I'll just you see where you are you see where you are I stopped you okay foot little footer Bigfoot just living for time or no just go for the big one the only way to cast this no don't get it don't get it shooting time three bows right here you're in short range hitting on five because you moved you're winning on fours and oh we got one all right um this one no I can't fit you're good you're good if you killed one more though yeah I'm shooting I wouldn't yeah I need them to stay they're blocking that's awesome to my plan they don't have anything to shoot up do they no uh does he want to plink a shot at this might as well okay something to hit that probably hits that wounds and come on all right we gotta check if you hit now hey it's the antsy wounds think so three more shots I think they're in a Range oh yeah I think we have six though no problems this unit is there another spot you want to aim for um amen right around there it's gonna scatter artillery knife and then redirect D6 you might as well together actually roll as closely possibly can if you could please sir and you're gonna scatter correct it oh and a misfire nevermind all right roll me a D6 to show what's going up on this shirt that's one destroyed cool nobody was in six pre-measured during deployment yeah no Panic next Doom diver yep got a nice Gap through the building here therefore who's gonna go back 10 and then redirect two lands here can't redirect him to hit anything just shot getting this guy so nothing from the second Doom diver don't worry we have lobster come on come on here's the wound that's a moon E6 damage you got four left it hurts it hurts so much well that's it that's it Let's uh let's go into my turn uh before charge the glare I guess we'll try to generate four we missed one no oh no okay we're gonna take uh D3 wounds come on this is come on dude we got one steam Point left um we're gonna do some charges oh no we have rallies no Chargers first hmm this guy is gonna charge that guy right there uh if you want to hold you give me a terror test hopefully oh you're gonna go off table like guaranteed hopefully okay I guess not guaranteed the three six highest two is two or three yeah that's definitely off the table uh we're gonna attest to redirect we can so we will redirect into ooh I can game this unintentionally the goblin wolf chariot if you like this day you have to uh oh I screwed up I should have charged them first oh well um if you want to stay you have to redo oh you have to um do a terror test I recommend this one notch dang and I'm going to clip here and then over into that one come on he'll go too yeah I'm gonna go turn away this angle and go four inches okay and I cannot redirect again uh ultimately I should have went there first and into that one but that's okay I can make this work hopefully oh oh no maybe they should have their charge now hey oh no oh no dude I just you're in trouble okay well well um if charge when you're flank okay that's gonna open up this uh okay so if I flee I'm still gonna make way I'm gonna go I'm definitely go I'm certain to go far enough to make a way to get in so knowing all that okay that'll end the game so we're gonna go back up a bit why would it in the game you only win the game oh let's see okay well I guess you're I guess you're right I guess you're right so they declare a charge into this uh boar boy chariot okay what do I want to do I'm gonna droop into his flank and then if it's in the nights so if they redirect here and you declare that charge I flee again I'll tell you what I'll make this even easier for you but don't give me reaction yet I don't declare a charge into them okay they declare charge into the Chariot and he just he's just automatically he just flees now he's gonna go nine more inches and then they're gonna test the redirect okay successfully so they're going to redirect into this chariot okay and I can react again holding it's very close you're in that fight uh now they will have a clear charge to them so we're going to declare that charge you want to take it you want to try fleeting it click top flip flop flip flop right through so you're oh measurements were done decisions were made they are opting to flee highest seven seven okay uh I can actually get there it's a box car um I think that's it for my churches yeah all right so these guys can't fail they're gonna go oh these guys are gonna look for two sixes no we got one We're Gonna Fill Four Chicks okay failing forward and this guy tried to fill him forward five towards his Chariot over there and that's it for charging let's see if we can rally we do they can activate normally this turn because they ran from a charge it's gonna go oh yeah they're over here because what's going to happen is you're going to win this fight most likely these guys will reform oh actually they're gonna March they have no musician oh whatever's reform no no no no no no no we're done who wins The Magic ah 11. and I don't Channel let's give you guys are five aboard safe ah we got it it's three uh do you wanna you care if they have a five award safe there's a one Doom to ever alive over there okay well uh I don't think you're gonna charge them but just in case you do I'm gonna try to get them to re-roll to wound okay they got it enjoy yep and there's six stage cursive and you're here on them I don't get any closer yeah I got it let's see how bad this miscast is um so the they treat all train even open terrain as dangerous terrain and they fail in a one or two that should uh kill a third of them well mine's board saves but miscast is five that's a small blast we're gonna hit three nights on twos and hey the reward save no two days to die good night and then the wizard himself takes a wound the wizard I'll just put you guys over here inside this right there for the wizard and uh that's him in my magic phase great once again 10 from the back eval gigantino oh we hit him ooh I don't think we need anything else but sticks in the ground does it wound this big fat guy it does it'll do only two wounds she's got four left and then there's a a rifle that hits does my wound and 12 rifle shots on fives is a half range sixes nope nope no more damage that's it over here we have one fight to do my man's and my horses can all swing together right now Force sixes hey we got a wound on four or five hour save the way you made it okay two pigs hitting on fours and fours oh no oh kill a guy and then uh two Works Force and threes because they'll Choppers don't all right well I think I won uh yeah I'll kill this one so I charge in the flank you killed one kill okay Bishop down to six effectively okay okay well the turn did not go well for me uh well uh I turned this table I turned this side of the table completely the the turns tables have tabled for sure over here I didn't expect the Turning of the table to be as turned but uh the Turning of the table over here uh turned very well for me but I still feel a little nervous about this side it doesn't it don't feel fully turned in my favor yet you know what I mean I carried it away let's go to your turn too it's only turn two turn table turn oh and I'm watching you first but dude animosity no they're dude just these trumps that was intentional then yeah come on yeah oh I didn't even need to curse of it roll a six roll of six right now no are you squabbling and you can't cast spells good you know what I charge my dude I wish I could flee I cannot anybody else yeah I have to hold it have to hold yep I think I did for you right all right well we'll enroll some Chargers return roll first oh do the giant giant 26 plus six twelve I don't think he's in first probably in but crunk with a field right there uh let's do some rallying we have we're gonna do first probably them yeah uh uh I think you get to use your leadership still yes you refer to mention we have a guy hiding over here I don't think I pointed it out but he had no purpose but he might now so we have two big bosses on wolves and a couple of Charities left to move Boom coming up with one Chariot and another Chariot and a couple of boxes one more box coming out this way nope actually stayed behind the building and hiding they're both hiding they have no purpose yet uh we have a fantastic game of movement happening and they don't have uh a job to do yet uh that's it uh no wins or Magic we have uh two war machines to shoot and that's it I guess we have one shade I should as well yeah Cherry first from the guns sixes nope all right which war machine's gonna go first we'll go here Doom diver into the knights makes sense so that you got oh misfire all right roll that die and dead this no I could probably get down there this one yeah sure sure did sooner yeah come on come on come on what's that all right can't fire this Turner next to where it's all filled together and it takes your wound all right well that's that and this has been good points well spin a second giant to get this many war machines true I should have kept it for a second I wonder why because the Crafters didn't have ton of hands right he won't fight you uh I have four attacks on the Riders three attacks from the horses all on fours and sixes NADA are you might as well do all four jacks together okay uh fours oh wait a second they can't fight sideways oh Boris can't no uh who did the damage last time who cares okay the wheel did so Two Jacks four pluses those were the Orcs it is exactly the same statue we just re-rolled because there's four there's no wound I win by one of them in your flank great yeah seven I win no no definitely not no you're the issue seven oh uh VSP oh yeah for sure before charge the head I gotta oh we pressed the point over here oh we did yeah yeah oh we're gonna go over here impact attacks D6 plus one that's what declare charges yeah three winning on fives one three of them we're good uh I'll just stab you real quick I hit okay all right wound you take a wound okay and then you have uh three spear attacks foreign and then you have two wolf attacks two hits sixes no nothing you charged I did a wound Ty combat all right now my turn I'm gonna try to generate five steam points go for it I misfired uh I'm rolling uh eight on the chart so everyone's in six inches oh all right well I'm dead uh they will take 2d6 drink four hits they only take four hits okay that's not bad uh sure on threes so two of these guys are gonna die that could be a heck of a lot worse your chariot will take eight hits on fives to wound we have nothing is that got him good work good trade not at all I guess that was actually a terrible idea I could just ground them down and then you know maybe shot this guy with the cannon but you know what it is what it is fantasy baby that's it charges Griffin going after the knights directly hold take nuts they uh it comes Terror yeah I'll try because of my blood we're upgrade I roll three dice starting the lowest so that's a fail the reroll the BSB okay come on oh they're sticking around nice well they'll declare a big one as well now uh I guess I have to hold I'm probably I'll probably you don't have to hold if I should Affair you know scroll is charging over here I can't fit through anywhere oh so yeah you kind of have to okay well that's that's gonna do some Chargers I'm Gonna Roll this one that's definitely a fail and that's definitely in huh feeling for three getting it over there they're gonna stay put and they're gonna go boop boop no no no no no no no no stay put here and going with the wizard with the Magics eight dice I have two channels I know it you do I would like a ward save on my unit I got it which one oh sorry I told you that unit yeah yeah fireworksafe oh it's only in the room I'm sure the warrior priest is I have I have three days here no I have six left after this I'll throw two at it you stop it let's give them the ability to re-roll to wound they get it to prayer is three to catched my total is six okay otherwise you're so then you're gonna curse me to your other spell right I also have a wild form for personal strength and toughness uh he's waiting for a while for him left I will try the wild form see what happens oh you stop it oh do you ten yeah you always have it okay so we have we roll the wound and that's all we got going it's not terrible spell actually 10 pistols or rifles ooh a tricked your short range oh it doesn't matter there's no Force beautiful perfect so we have five hits watch four sixes and you're dead okay you got one room left all right it's we gotta put down the wolf chariot oh lots of hits lots of hits um this thing's toughest sport Force the wound oh it's enough to kill you can you make three six up saves yes you only needed one you only needed one down to one I wanna do this charge first you always realized I've been doing an extra attack for this guy the whole time he shouldn't have had that so yeah he fought twice already he should only have one attack um I don't know once I'm gonna I'm gonna not attack with this model this turn to make it right so there's only five attacks on the Riders because the sergeant gets extra ballistic skill and not an extra attack um I might as well do the horses and then I'm Gonna Roll two attacks the guys on this side okay and then they're three horses there we go all right so it's all gonna be fours to hit this is a drop dice over that again do it fairly and get rid of all these nasty one twos and threes skulls are sixes because they mean death for the enemy not for us six is not a wound okay uh too dice does it it doesn't matter right all right I charged and I'm in Your Flank I win by two leadership for you is gonna go down to five effectively need to re-roll for the BSB nearby okay I have no challenges to issue let me think hi John is issuing a challenge with his BSB because I actually should have issued a challenge first with my Champion um I didn't so it was on the John's auction issue any issues with the BSB and now why ubsb is on the edge here I can accept it with mine or not fight so you know what I'll accept it with mine all right my guy first uh he hits on fours and you strength five right now to sort of wait so he has one wound on you one room goes through for a Forbes save okay you're good I'll do his horse now to get out of the way it hits it does not wound uh you know we're in the challenge we're just swinging back on me okay you there saying hey four Sigmar a little better we are strength six so we're only on twos we got three worlds of wound off so we have nine wounds on you interested in Paradise do so well nine six up saves we're gonna kill seven of them okay uh next initiative will be uh I guess two horses well one hits horses don't get hatred one one from the horse three Obama save for that remaining or poor boy well your your BSB needs double ones to stick around he has to be rolly because he's inspiring himself we will chase you I went uh seven inches you want seven I catch you I'll be panicking for them oh the musicology hey we'll be painting with that though there's a goblin boss behind that wall too oh Goblin boss is fine chariot oh is not fine all right John rolled that one first say it's fine and uh away instead I should get you and that's off the table thank you the six would have stayed but no sometimes they don't pay to be a handgun in the Empire this War Boss or big boss is going after them I've already stood in troop they can't do it again so uh I think I've declared all my legal charges that's true uh you might as well roll this one and fail this one forward he's gonna go forward three at least he's gonna survive and we pre-measured this one what was this again uh 16. so you need a seven shirts for this guy right here give me uh just a train over the wall see ya no no okay with Savages and this poor boy Chariot to decide where they're gonna go and this is the new formation so we're going on to the Winds of magic I need a big one oh doubles will help I have two channels for no help they're coming a foot Gotta Have It oof okay you have it oh uh I would have been going for the big one yeah yeah let me tally it up all right buddy you can get them all you try to get them all uh I can get them all except the characters which character you probably get all but one character which character do you want to avoid nobody cares about the wizard yeah bsp yeah how expensive is he uh cheaper in the bsp the bsp worth 100 extra point so we'll grab everybody kit come on five is a huge deviation all right can we get it again four plus do it again would you get what'd you get what you got I can't see that's it for uh okay same spot that's actually not bad yeah a hidden uh four balls in the back rank winning on twos okay okay effectively strength seven against me so I have a five up armor save I make one of them and I have a five board shaving kicking going only one dies and then you saw me again do it again yes it does I love this move this is huge try to get him oh that's not terrible okay keep saying this on terrible but that's actually be going oh no that's terrible three in the Wizard three in the Wizard I will look what's her off the wizard okay I don't so roll to ruin the wizard the wizard has a uh five of Ward save nope Wizard's dead and then uh what does he have here we go you only have one left and then you have two more hits on twos three more three more yep two more five of armor five aboard jeez on a fourth against happen again stop stepping on me bro okay all right stop sizzles that's big oh okay that was big that was big magic defense down one night down well that's it right uh this thing can't shoot you but we can turn it around yep and then we can do they ever get to move fighting over here uh I think nobody causes fear so you have impact tax it was five years alive that was a dream you rolled a six even better plus one for size we have seven hits on these three epistolies killing on twos oh my God ah dude you got enough now here's the big question I'll grab your trip chicken your your yep do you want to overrun into my Griffin or you wanna I think I'll get impact Stacks right you will yeah I'll do it all right three yeah ice two yeah a straight line does clip them but it counts as a charge when you you will see that's why you will to maximize the thing is actually this is still part of this fight so we have to finish the the fight though so I have five swords our soldiers and five horses on uh fours hey that sixes again no no damage there two hit not a win okay uh the comments will separate so I win my warnings I'm in your blank foreign You're Gonna Go sh eight inches it's not enough because I gotta eat yeah okay uh if I go straight do I clip you I think you do no I think you do okay what a game yeah and then we have this fight right here my soldiers can defend they can hold out they can kill them you're gonna have your War you'll try your your big boss Goblin big boss fight first hit on threes how many attacks three love it and threes I think it kills one and then your wolf it hits it wounds I have the warmer kill him Force the hit five's the wound hey light armor and shield and mount you Forbes safe hey you're fine you're fine you won by three yep um leadership nine uh yeah right so double checking the rules make sure I got this right uh these actually are steadfast this is still a rank it's not exactly for ranked bonuses because it has to be after the front rank but yeah that's where we rank of five or more uh so we are gonna hold there and uh that's that's the turn on turn four I've got no charger to clear because I'm kind of oh I could clear out that all right not really worth it because I was exposed to them so yeah no charge to declare so we're gonna do a swift reform here no no we're not just a reform home over here because you know we're not gonna reform because this guy's in the front we're gonna try to like Swift perform a Walk This Way to face the giant but we can't do this we'll just stay there uh we're gonna Swift reform of those jumps I'm gonna re-roll that let's look at our surf report can you turn them to face these guys and then back up three and a half inches and that's all I got left I got no more movement we will and two wins of magic I will Channel uh yeah four days you have five dice I'm gonna put the award save up on me I got it should I stop it um how many more dice do you have I can it doesn't matter I can use only three more so I'll use three dice per bounce bill wait no let me use more that's whap I'm thinking of I rolled a 10 for five aboard save on the knights I got five dice left I can do re-roll to wound on them yeah we're just gonna yeah uh yeah okay all right we roll through one in case you get in we got it okay okay doesn't it shoot I want to do this fight first I think or same initiative I'll just roll first uh give me a five nope and now you have your three tackle on threes and threes and then one more attack on fours and fours nope all right uh why I don't have a musician oh I should have reformed last week or last fight in fact I'm gonna reform right now okay they have a rainbow in case it happens again nice all right give me a fear test for this guy on 3d6 discard the highest you're scared Oh no you're not actually no it's for the lowest I'm saying it's for the lowest that was like a nine yeah so you're scared I'm scared I she uh yeah last time I have to take a test to have reform which was all good like where I've made it yes okay no I actually would have failed oh right well uh we're gonna go ahead and put you their ogre blade first impact attacks right yeah that's right you do five feedback Stacks gotta roll to see where they go it's a randomize them on the rider or the mount and a five plus it hits the rider so this wounds me on a three no okay and this one's on a four one wound on the mount okay right I think they got five wounds but I'll double check in a sec I'll try to chop you up with my ogre blade uh threes did and two City wounds to you so you got two wounds through and then the Griffin three hits three wounds and that finishes them off yep uh I am going to just challenge uh Captain three hits uh two wounds five up seven night attacks hitting on fours winning on fours no re-roll into wound didn't need to five saves on the uh Savages only two six horses uh uh one more wound for the five of England got more a lot of attacks hitting me on fours putting everything into the unit trying to put them down are we rolling a hit threes to wound because no more choppers 13 and two up armor saves two nights dead and then is that it did you do all your talks uh that's right oh wow this time I did four wounds and I have two kinds of banners I believe that is discussion and we both thought we were gonna lose for sure yes like you thought you were gonna lose I thought I was gonna lose and it started to feel better um I was hopeless until these guys overran and I realized I could get them into combat a little foot right it helps the foot went okay but yeah no I it was actually that last swing I thought like oh this is going to go well for me I'm winning and then I saw you rolling two up saves I forgot I did the exact same thought process so huge and when you said oh yeah they're not five straight five anymore like oh okay string five I'll hit on threes instead of twos I forgot about the armor yep I went the exact same thing in my head I'm like oh it still didn't Johnny's favor yep the armor part so yeah you definitely could have won it if I rolled a couple less uh to a barber saves great game like sometimes I'm hitting on threes winning all fours and I'm getting that many wounds wounding all fours yeah oh that was really when my warrior priest died my my unit lost ability to re-roll to wound that was gonna be helped well I thought I was gonna help me but I didn't need it because I just rolled four plus the wound up you're talking sport didn't really help you a lot yeah but then it's a dice that's fancy baby yeah that's a good one very different than the other one we played which was nice no spoilers but other than it's different so you never know the order I had yeah had a blast classic Master up I love Empire versus Orcs no matter who wins cherries are scary man I get it I get it I do love them I need to buy more yeah you get a work player too right I should paint the ones Goblin Cherry it's a goblin Cherry they're hard to find they're impossible to find actually I have drawn the Poncho how to paint up I will
