[Music] uh [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] this is such an amazing tea party i'm really glad you came down here so we can do this yeah me too sometimes i can get really lonely up there with my other friends because they don't understand what it's like to have a secret oh that's right none of your friends know that you're a mermaid yeah they just think i like twice and like a mommy all the time they don't know i'm a real mommy yeah it's hard to tell people sometimes they just don't understand that mermaids exist and that hybrid mermaids can be on land and in the ocean yeah sure wish i had a sister to share my secret with and and that could be like me too splash queen i think someone's looking for you yeah someone very special is looking for you that's what i just said ariel well i want to say it too it's a big surprise and i want to be included oh ariel's always trying to steal the spotlight hello everyone today we're going to be giving splash queen an omg sister because i needed an excuse to make a mermaid and the perfect doll for that is cosmic nova she's on the show again for yet another omg makeover she is the perfect doll for splash queen's omg big sister because look at her hair it's mermaid perfection so with her we're not going to have to do a whole lot because we just chopped out the hair cutting process literally and all we're gonna do is open up her hair and get rid of the bangs up in the front then we're gonna murmify her body i so want to be a mermaid make me a mermaid please i'm so excited and i just can't hide it first step up getting her head in some hot water because we're still gonna need to take it off even though we aren't taking off the rest of her hair we are taking off the bangs and we'll need to re-route some brand new hair oh her head is too big for the glass there you go we'll need to reroute some brand new hair so that's gonna need gluing down and that is why we are removing her head all right so she should be good let's take her head off oh that is hot and voila we've got her head off oh that that water is still hot so now we're gonna take this bit off since it's too short to even work with otherwise i could have boil washed it and kind of swished it off to the side but we can't and we've got the hair to reroute right in her head it's a perfect match because it's her hair from the last makeover we did so see i do save the hair for those who are worried about what i do with my doll's hair after i cut it here we go i'm going to be careful just to get her bangs and not the rest of her hair [Music] for [Music] all right so here we are i've rooted all of the hair that i needed in the front and i don't really think i'm gonna boil wash her hair because i don't want to flatten it out i think it's pretty being a little bit floofy but i may change my mind on that but before i even do that i'm going to glue all of this down with some fabric tack make sure it's nice and secure and stays on her head forever give her a little tap tap tap to make sure that the glue is going the direction i want it to go because the other hair is glued in already so we need to secure the new hair okay so i think her head is about dry now so i'm just gonna open her hair elastics all right so here it is it's long and pretty and the moment we've all been waiting for her face up [Music] time to get her head back onto her body and then we're gonna work on an outfit and some accessories for her we have finally come to the time where bertha gets to shine it's been a long time since i've gotten bertha on the show and i need her today because we're gonna sew her a mermaid tail out of this fabric it's very see-through so i'm gonna use this fabric to keep it from being so transparent now using some cardstock i'm actually gonna make her a pattern so that i don't have to keep on measuring her out every single time i want to make a mermaid tail a pattern always comes in handy all we're gonna do is draw around her body [Music] this lets me know where her feet end here is the general shape now around this i'm going to give a little bit of extra space to make for the seam allowance and i'm actually just gonna draw her a mermaid tail right now into the pattern i was thinking about maybe making this out of a different material but i'll try and make it one type of material just so it ends up having a put together look [Music] for her top i'm gonna use an existing pattern that i have it seems like it's gonna do the trick except on second thought i'm probably gonna tweak it a little bit let's make the bottom part into an upside down heart shape just like the top and make these parts a little bit thinner [Music] for her top i have this fabric and we're gonna double layer it so it's not so see-through maybe even triple layer it because it's a pretty pretty sheer fabric and it's a very nice iridescent blue so i think that'll make a perfect top for her so once i got this as thick as i want it i'm going to pin this together [Music] [Music] [Applause] now since the top is so small i'm gonna try to fix the edges with some fabric tack [Music] [Applause] so here's what i've got for her top and i'm gonna add some velcro to the back so it can close and stick right this is the fuzzy side and this is the spiky side we're just going to need a little bit of both [Music] i'm going to take an elastic tie cut it in half and that will be for shoulder straps [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay so here's how it turned out i'm not liking the way the tail turned out i feel like we can do better i could maybe make the tail a little bit wider and it'll turn out better after sewing or maybe make it out of this fabric so it's different from the rest of the scaly part let's go ahead and go back to the drawing board and work on this tail a little bit more [Music] and here is her tail again this is our second attempt i still feel like her tail is looking shrimpy a mermaid's tail needs to be grand and beautiful like the rest of her i feel like this doesn't say mermaid i'm gonna make a third attempt i'm gonna take some jewelry wire and shape a mermaid tail out of it [Music] so [Music] now since she's a pure blood that means she's a mermaid that can be on land and in the water whenever she feels like hybrids are mermaids that have to be on land for three years and have to be in the ocean for three years so they can't come and go as they please but our omg big sister is a pure blood so she is one of those that's gonna need an outfit for when she's on land and this oil slick mermaid fabric is the perfect fabric for her it has a really cool color shift if you can see it turns purple a little bit of pink and green when you move it around so i'm gonna build her an omg skirt using a pattern that i've made already and i'm thinking about making her a top out of the same fabric [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so the outfit is perfect we are now ready to accessorize starting with her shoes then i want to do a head piece for her and maybe a purse for her shoes i'm going to use cosmic nova's shoes but we're going to tweak them [Music] [Music] do so so [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] for her earrings i'm using real seashells that i borrowed from my seashell jewelry box i had to i ordered some from amazon and they didn't come in time [Music] and finally i'm just gonna seal everything in with some matte varnish and maybe add some gloss varnish on her lips [Music] splash queen where were you i was looking all over for you you had me worried sick big sister what was that well i was looking for you both big sister i missed you yep that's her that's who was looking for you wow you mean i had a big sister this whole time and i didn't even know it you have a big sister me silly but we have an even bigger sister that's right but you mustn't come under the sea by yourself it's not safe here not safe whoever says it's not safe ursula you leave my sisters alone you and i had a deal remember well i wasn't going to do anything i was simply giving them a welcome [Music] that's ursula the sea witch and you mustn't talk to her now that's no way to treat a friend is it you are not our friend ursula go back to your lair fine but remember your deal is still with me [Music] eh even bigger sister what is she talking about uh you don't have to worry about that maybe i can tell you someday but right now let's enjoy our time together yeah i wouldn't worry about anything ursula says she's a sea witch after all here she finally is omg splash queen she was really my excuse to make an omg mermaid doll i've been wanting to make an omg mermaid doll forever and finally she's here and i couldn't be happier with the results let's check out what we did for her she's got a custom-made mermaid crown inspired by the mermaid halo from royal high brand new along with many of the beautiful halos in royal high she's got seashells all over with beautiful rhinestones we gave her a somewhat minimal face up she's got seashell earrings and these are real seashells i kept the color just the same i made her a custom top out of blue fabric and here is her grand mermaid tail the fabric that we made it out of is such a pretty sequin fabric and it looks so much prettier in different lighting i don't know if the camera is catching it but that is gorgeous it looks so so pretty and i think it really does look like mermaid scales her tail was a bit tricky but i finally got it right i used some jewelry wire and put the fabric over it and bejeweled it up with some lovely pearls of the ocean and put some chunky confetti glitter on there her nails i didn't do anything with i think the silver looks just fine for the mermaid look oh yeah and her hair is so stinking pretty cosmic nova was just begging to be turned into a mermaid with this beautiful hair it's got such a pretty shimmer to it with the tinsel hair pieces and i kept it super long didn't cut anything off of it because a mermaid's gotta have beautiful flowing long hair all the more better to play with and brush so she's really got the whole mermaid tastic package so when she's in her human form she still has her beautiful crown on and she's got a lovely mermaid outfit with her custom-made mermaid bag the pearls nothing says mermaid like pearls and the back is usable she can open it and put stuff in it i'm just not gonna open it because i've put a little bit of adhesive to keep the flap down and when she goes on land she's gonna need a pair of human legs which she does have and she styles them beautifully with some sparkly silver heels and that is it for now don't forget to leave in the comment section what you guys want her nervous i've never seen mermaids like you guys before oh we're not mermaids we're hydras those are different but mermaids are cool we don't mind mermaids wow you guys are really cool i wish i had the big sister i have no buggy well except for my friends about that myrrh baby i've been meaning to tell you something i kind of have a secret don't be angry with me oh you mean you didn't tell her well then this should be juicy having sisters is really fun but sometimes you know they can get on your nerves hey well you get all my nerves too that's exactly what i said i'm a little bit confused i'm not sure i yep that's exactly what she means my baby's getting an omg sister today and she doesn't know about it that mean old ursula's got lots of tricks up her sleeve and she's holding mermaids hostage in the ocean today we're going to be changing a drag racer into a mermaid she's going to be mer babies omg sister and i think she's a perfect fit for what we want to do i'll be racing in the ocean as a super speed mermaid sure you are first off i'm going to cut off all of her hair but never fear my dear because we're going to be rooting all of her brand new hair using this beautiful color i purchased on etsy from the doll planet it is called espion remember always use caution when crafting and for my younger audience be sure to get the help of a grown-up and she's ready for her haircut [Music] now using my heating gun i'm going to get the plastic softened up in the neck area so i can get her head off and pluck out each one of these tiny hairs using my tweezers all right that should be good oh that i almost knocked my camera down all righty then now we're going to pluck all the hairs out [Music] all right i got all of the hair out well off of her head but not out of her head let's see how much hair she has a spoolie always helps and yeah we've got a huge chunk of hair stuck in there so i want to get all that out before i get any of the new hair in there we want a clean head okay so here's all the hair that i got out of there it's not much so now we're clear to start painting her head but before we do i'm gonna buff it out with a nail buffer to get it nice and gritty to cling onto the paint a little better and time to paint for the paint i'm using a little bit of this deco art lavender color along with my liquitex titanium white heavy body acrylic paint well here we go with the purple and the white since the heavy body paint is a lot thicker you don't need a lot of it that was a perfect ratio of the two and i got the color that i wanted we are now ready to get this on her head now that her paint is dry i'm going to add a little bit of my liquitex matte varnish just to make sure that the paint doesn't come off because her head's gonna be squished and squeezed and prodded at with my rerouting tool [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] moving on to her outfit i've got a little bit of something sketched out giving me an idea of what i want the end result to look like but before i do that let me get her mermaid outfit out of the way this time around i'm going to use a clever way to make a mermaid tail that i learned from akimirokuai's channel i will leave the link to her video in the description box in case you guys want to see for yourself how she made the mermaid tail using latex my mind was blown this mermaid tail looks so magnificent it looks and moves like a real mermaid tail first step is to wrap our doll with saran wrap or plastic wrap [Music] once that's done i'm going to take scotch tape and wrap it all around the saran wrap [Music] [Music] once she's all wrapped up nicely and snuggly i'm going to mark the sides of her legs the back and the waist in the shape that i want the waist to be looking now i'm going to take these tiny scissors and start cutting this mold we made off of her body [Music] we basically just cast a mermaid tail in the exact shape of the omg body and this will be our pattern now i'm going to take these and draw them out on a separate piece of paper and i'm going to make a little bit of a seam allowance on the outside this will just give us extra room to work with once we're ready to put the mermaid tail together [Music] i'm going to cover this with a plastic now and then on top of that i can put my liquid latex in the shape that i drew out [Music] all right we're gonna jazzer size this up with some of this jumbo glitter in disco and some of this extra fine glitter and blue jean and some of this light blue glitter [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so [Applause] [Music] now that the first layer is dry it's time to get the extra glitter off i'm going to try to save as much of that as i can because i'm gonna knead it later i'm thinking about adding this really pretty colourpop gold body glitter to the tails just so we can have a little bit of a color variation [Music] and then i'm going to encase all of that in another layer of latex [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] uh yeah so i made some extra tails because i didn't like the way the glitter turned out on the first two tails so this is good because we could use the extra pieces in case we have issues putting together the one mermaid tail sometimes you come up a little short in the sizing so we're gonna dust off the extra glitter then i'm going to dust the pieces off with baby powder to keep them from sticking together where i don't want them sticking [Music] and i'm going to put the front and back and tail together using some liquid latex [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] to make the tail removable from the omg doll i'm going to put some velcro strips on the back so it can open and shed easily and now since the other side of the fin part is not pretty i kind of forgot to do the latex and the glitter on the other side i'm gonna do that now [Music] also i'm going to add a little bit of detail to the top waist part of the mermaid tail kind of making it look like the ariel little mermaid tail has a little bit of like a fold like a part that kind of hangs outside of the tail if that makes sense [Music] for her mermaid top i'm gonna use this fabric and i'm also gonna use a little bit of this fabric it's so pretty it looks like ocean bubbles i've got an existing pattern for the top oh never mind i'm going to use my mermaid top pattern and while i'm at it i'm going to build her some shorts out of the same fabric then i'm going to go on to make the rest of her apply some heat from my heat gun and we'll be good to go [Music] after i've made the general shape of the headpiece i'm gonna start working on making her a whole bunch of seashells and a whole bunch of little gizmos to go on her headpiece i'm thinking about making her halo the 2019 mermaid halo from royal high since oceana has the 2020 mermaid halo [Music] um [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] of worbla this is a technique i learned off of poppin autelier she uses warbler to make the cutest shoes custom shoes for her dolls and i don't want to borrow another omg doll's shoes this time let's finally completed my baby's omg big sister she took a lot longer than my regular omg makeovers omg dolls take longer than other makeovers anyway but this one was just you know we tried a whole bunch of new things with this makeover including warbler boots a liquid latex mermaid tail and a really detailed mermaid halo so let's take a closer look at her she's got her lovely mermaid halo from royal highs the 2019 mermaid halo she's got beautiful lilac colored hair i think it contrasts really pretty with her halo and her mermaid tail she's got super pretty mermaid waves i had her hair and braids the whole time boil washed it with those braids in and let it dry that way so the mermaid waves are pretty much in there she's got her starfish earrings and i gave her two-toned eyeshadow i usually like doing that with my omg makeovers because i can't decide on one color so i just add the two colors she's got yellow and light pink changed her eye color to mer baby's eye color and gave her a really pretty peachy nude lip color i gave her a mermaid top with some pearl details i also changed up her nail color to a light pink and she's got her glittery realistic looking mermaid tail made out of liquid latex and when she wants to walk the land and be a human she has this outfit we've got a lovely fishnet top with a gold and starfish blue body necklace her super pretty iridescent purple skirt with some pink shorts underneath and i made her some custom boots out of worbla even though they look really floppy sloppy it is my first time making worbla shoes and you guys know practice makes perfect so hopefully i get a little better than this as always you guys know the drill leave in the comment section what you guys think we should name her you guys come up with the most creative
