ok ok.. here's my RARE BEAUTY review

i've been wearing this for about eight hours and overall hey guys and welcome back to my channel i am finally sitting down and filming with all the rare beauty products that i own i bought these so long ago i bought them when they launched and my intention was to try them out and then film like a review video for you guys um after trying a lot of the stuff so it wouldn't be like a first impressions i don't know how that video just like never happened but it just never happened and i know so many of you guys are still asking for a video on these products um i at first thought maybe i was too late to the game but i keep getting asked to do this so i'm going to film with all the products that i have that i've tried before including the primer foundation concealer setting powder stuff like that but i have not tried and thought i would test out the new stay vulnerable collection so there's a new blush a liquid eyeshadow and then a balmy gloss i can't remember what this is called off the top of my head but that's what we're going to do today let's just get right into it no need to waste any time i'm going to start off with the rare beauty primer now this is called the illuminating primer it's funny because even though i've owned these for a while i still feel like it's been a minute since i've worn them so it might actually be a little bit of a first impressions with everything on the complexion so i will do a wear test for you guys so i can kind of show you on camera how everything wears but this primer is really nice it feels very emollient and it is going to give you that dewy finish to the complexion but in a really natural way and it like has a pearl to it but there's not visible glitter flex which is what i personally look for in a illuminating primer i'm also going to bring that up under the eyes to kind of brighten that area too and then we're just going to let that kind of sink into the skin for a minute all right so for foundation i still can't figure out if this shade is too light for me or not i guess we will be reminded today of how it looks however it might work a little better now that it's pretty in the middle of winter i feel like when i first bought this it was summertime so it could work better but this is the foundation and i have the shade 130n i'm gonna give it a good shake and i'm just gonna use the doe foot applicator to dot the foundation all over the complexion if i remember right this spreads pretty easily so i'm gonna kind of stop there i feel like it's always easier to add more foundation than it is to remove i don't own any of the brushes from rare beauty i actually have been debating whether or not to pick up the foundation brush because that foundation brush looks really good if any of you guys have tried that brush and if you feel like it's worth it or not please tell me in the comments okay so i'm just blending this out with my brush and it really does blend out beautifully on the skin i feel like that shade will work for me must have just been my summer color that was a little bit too deep for this but right now it's perfect so that's great once i feel like things are pretty distributed evenly i'm gonna go in with my sponge and just press everything down into the complexion i feel like something in my skincare routine is interfering with the foundation because it's starting to pill and that's usually what happens so i'm trying not to drag too much to avoid as much pilling as possible but i will keep that in mind today as i wear it because sometimes certain products like can't be layered with certain skincare products but it's not always easy for me to know what works with what foundation until i notice things like this if that makes sense it's not too bad just don't like the edges of my face so hopefully it won't mess anything up i'm going to go ahead and shake up the concealer as well um i also have the shade 130n in the concealer the applicator is really nice on this it's kind of got a nice angled edge which makes it really great for just dotting underneath the eyes and getting into those harder to reach areas so i'm gonna go ahead and apply this on like the inner corner i have been seeing several people apply their concealer like this recently so i've been wanting to try it out and see why basically they like focus it right here in this dark area and then add a little bit to this edge and then they blend it all out i don't know we're gonna try it today i'm gonna take my sponge and just start blending that out making sure to also blend out this edge here i am also going to take a little bit of what's left on the sponge and just make sure this very inner corner is nice and even out we'll put a little on the eyelids too i feel like i have a whoa dropping my sponge but i feel like i have a little bit of darkness around my eyes because i didn't sleep that much last night and it's because of my husband and i's um star wars marathon that we were having and we were a little bit behind yesterday with work stuff and didn't finish what we needed to until pretty late but we like really wanted to finish our movie marathon so we stayed up way too late watching the last episode but it was worth it it was fun i feel like i'm gonna pay the price though for it later today it's funny because if i don't get enough sleep i don't always feel it the next morning it's the day after that that it really hits me so hopefully tomorrow i'm okay okay i really like how things are looking i'm not gonna set the face quite yet because i'm gonna use that cream blush on the cheeks but i am gonna take what's left on the powder brush that i just used recently i didn't use it in this video yet but it has a little bit of powder left on it and i'm just going to run that through the brows so that i can fill in my brows really quick i'm going to use my benefit precisely my brow pencil and i'm going to use the shade 3.5 today it's just a slightly softer shade now i know rare beauty has a brow pencil i just haven't picked that up yet because i didn't know if it was worth it for me i've heard that it's good but i just have my go-to brow pencils that i didn't feel like i really needed to try it they also have a liquid eyeliner that i didn't pick up because i just don't wear liquid eyeliner so just know that they do have more products than what i personally own but i only picked up the stuff that i feel like i genuinely would use okay brows are on i'm gonna go ahead and kind of lightly bronze the skin i'm gonna be using this one right here from charlotte tilbury it's the airbrush bronzer in the shade one which is the shade fair this is one of my favorite bronzers for when i just want a little bit of definition on the skin like barely they have a lot more shades but if you have pretty fair skin like me and you have a hard time finding a bronzer that looks super super natural on the skin this is a great one i might layer on more later but for now i feel like that's pretty good and you'll see that on me it just kind of added a tiny bit of definition but it looks so natural on the skin which is why i really like it for more everyday looks like this all right let's do the eyes i'm going to go into the rare beauty stay vulnerable liquid eyeshadow in the shade nearly neutral i really like the packaging on this it's really cute and i swatched this by my windows you could kind of see the color and natural light but i'm gonna go ahead and try this out here's what the applicator looks like very similar to the concealer just smaller i'm just gonna do uh one eye at a time i'm gonna make sure that the concealer isn't creased so i'm gonna pat that out and then i'm just gonna go straight into this eye shadow i don't really know how much to use so i'm going to start there it's better to start with less and build up it's always more difficult to take away product if you've applied too much so i'm just blending this up and outward and i'm really working it up toward the crease a little bit trying to blend it up and out as my transition i'm gonna add a little bit more just taking a fluffy brush and kind of patting that in and then buffing the edges again i am also going to apply this on the lower lash line i'm just going to take that same applicator and take the same brush and just pinch the brush and blend this out on the lower lash line as well okay very interesting i feel like oh i'm going to blend this out first i feel like it blended out pretty nicely i'm interested to see how this wears on me because with cream eyeshadow alone my eyes do tend to crease so i'm not going to be shocked if it does crease a little bit um but we'll see if it doesn't that'll be amazing i'm just going to do the same thing kind of blending this out i'm focusing most of the pigment closest to the lash line and then blending up and out as i go i added a bit more just like i did on the other eye and now i'm just going to blend that out again and then i'm just blending it out along the lower lash line as well i'm gonna pull up the shade range okay so these come in five shades and i feel like nearly neutral okay it's one of the deeper shades actually oh i should have looked at the swatches here they are on my phone you can see nearly neutral as the first one so it's a lot more brown i definitely feel like nearly rose which is the second shade would be something i would be interested in but i do really like this shade so far okay i feel like it grabbed a little bit right here i don't know why on both eyes it did that right in this inner corner but overall i feel like that was a pretty easy eye shadow to apply and like my eyes look pretty much done so i'm gonna go in with my thrive cosmetics liquid lash extensions mascara and i'm just going to apply that on the top and bottom lashes okay so mascara is on i'm gonna go ahead and reach for the blush so this blush has a really cool kind of a shape in the pan i will show you guys the footage that i had um next to the window so you can see what i'm talking about before i mess it up i don't even want to touch it it's so pretty but i love the packaging on it it's kind of like a spherical type bubbly just really fun shape i like this a lot here's what the texture looks like on the inside again this is in the same shade as the eye shadow nearly neutral so i'm going to go ahead and dip into this it's definitely very creamy wow that's really nice okay i just realized i normally always apply my blush with my sponge so i don't want to try to apply it differently than usual so i'm just gonna take that dip my sponge directly into the pan pat it on the back of my hand and then i'm gonna smile and just apply this on the apples of the cheeks i feel like these are applying really nicely i do feel like they have a little bit of a sheen to it which makes the skin look nice and healthy and they're also pretty sheer so you don't have to like worry about going overboard i was worried for a second that i had picked up too much but it actually looks very natural on the skin okay so that's that with the blush so far so good i think it looks really nice again really natural i'm gonna go in with my rare beauty highlighter this is such a pretty highlighter this is their liquid luminizer in the shade enlighten i'm gonna apply this on the back of my hand and then take my sponge again that's just personally how i like to apply cream products and i'm going to take the tip of my sponge dip it into the highlight on my hand and then just start to build this up on the face i do really like these highlighters i should say this highlighter because i've only tried this one shade but when i first tried these out it was off camera months ago this was the product that i feel like i was the most excited about when i first applied it makes the skin look so dewy and so natural still just gonna take that down the center of the nose and on the cupid's bow and a little bit above the brows i'm actually going to take a little bit more blush i just love blush so i'm going to apply a bit more on the outsides of the face and then i'm flipping my sponge over to the side that we used to blend out foundation i'm going around the edges okay i feel like now i'm ready to powder a little bit i'm gonna take a pressed powder this one is from jouer cosmetics it's their soft focus hydrate and set powder in the shade fair i'm gonna take that on a small brush and i'm just gonna start pressing this into the areas that i always set the face so i'm setting the concealer i'm going to set the sides of the nose with this as well and then i'm going to take a fluffier brush and my ciate coconut powder which i am very familiar with right now because it's my current favorite and i'm just going to use this to gently set the rest of the face i always have to use powder i'm going to put a little bit of powder over top of the cream just to make sure it really lasts all day powder the forehead as well okay and then i always go back over with my sponge even after i've powdered just to make sure there's no powdery finish but everything is set okay i'm gonna wipe off any foundation that's on the lips and then i'm going to be applying the third new product that i picked up which is the stay vulnerable glossy lip balm again i got this in the shade nearly neutral should i wear a lip liner maybe i will i'm going to take the dose of colors lip liner in the shade on repeat just to give my lips a little bit of a shape i'm going to use my finger to softly blend that out okay and now i'm gonna go in with this balmy gloss here's the applicator on it has a nice precise point i'm just gonna go ahead and layer this right on top it definitely feels very balmy on the lips it feels really comfortable actually and the color is really nice too okay i'm just going to add a couple of final touches to the look i'm going to take a tiny bit of the rare beauty highlighter on a small brush i just feel like my inner corner needs a little boost of light so i'm going to place this in the inner corner of the eye and i'm going to use what's left underneath the brows i'm going to take what's left on the back of my sponge where i applied blush and just put a little more on and then i'm of course going to add a little more bronzer now that i have everything on the complexion i do feel like i could use quite a bit more bronzer just to bring a little more warmth back to the skin okay so i'm happy with how everything looks my final step is going to be the always an optimist four in one mist from rare beauty as well i'm gonna try to focus this on the outer portions of the face since the t-zone does get oily for me usually this smells really good and then i'm gonna go ahead and take my sponge and just press that down into the complexion i'm just doing one last little powder press using my jouer powder and then of course i'm gonna set my brows with my benefit 24 hour brow setter okay so i really do like how my makeup looks i feel like everything looks nice and natural i'm gonna try to brush away this mascara mark right here but yeah i feel like everything's nice i really like that lip color i do feel like if i were to actually wear the cream eyeshadow i would use it as more as a base versus all over the eyes but for the sake of this video since i wanted to try out just that formula i left it alone i think it looks nice but i feel like it's a little bit darker than what i personally was picturing i don't know based off of what i saw online but with that being said we're gonna just test the formula anyway i can always pick up new colors so let's do a wear test it's currently 2 40 in the afternoon i'm going to wear this for as long as possible and i'll keep you guys posted on how all the new products wear and you'll be able to see updates in a wear test on all the other complexion products that i tried out or that i wore i didn't really try them out today but it's been a while since i've used them all on the face at once so it'll be fun for me to be reminded about how they wear so yeah let's just do a wear test i will see you guys in just a minute for my first check-in all right so here is my first check-in in natural light i do feel like everything looks very very natural i feel like it's all very nice and lightweight as well the blush isn't too overpowering it's just right the highlighter is just beautiful i really love this i'm excited to see how everything wears the eyeshadow looks nice i usually just do this so you guys can see how the fresh makeup looks in different lighting versus my studio lighting and right now i really really like how everything looks so we'll keep wearing it i'll keep updating you and i will see you in my next check-in okay i'm checking in again i've worn this for about three hours it's been a little over three hours it's currently 607 pm i honestly feel like everything looks the same like pretty balanced nothing's too oily nothing's too dry i feel like it really does look very similar to when i first applied everything the only thing that's faded a little is the lipstick or the gloss i mean but it's still on the lips a little bit so yeah this is what things are looking like right now um i do have to go to the grocery store i wanted to do an update before wearing a mask so you could see the difference but yeah so far so good on everything and the eyeshadow isn't creasing either which is something that i am surprised about because usually cream eyeshadows crease on my eye shape so yeah i'll see you guys in a little bit for my next check-in all right you guys i'm back i'm under my studio lights after watching a movie so it's pretty bright but i wanted to show you the time it's currently at 10 48 so almost 11 o'clock which means i've been wearing this for about eight hours and overall honestly i'm really impressed with how all the complexion products were i feel like they've really lasted throughout the day i did wear a mask earlier today so it rubbed off a little bit on my nose but honestly not too bad considering how long i was wearing my mask so that's definitely something to note there's a tiny bit of separation around the nose but honestly at this point with almost every foundation that i own that happens so overall i feel like the foundation and primer and all those products the concealer as well really last well throughout the day and like i said they just felt very balanced i didn't get oily until well actually i don't even feel like i am that oily yet there's a little bit of oil coming through here and normally my whole t-zone is pretty oily so that's pretty impressive considering that i do typically get oily in the t-zone and i used a dewy setting spray today and the primer that i used was pretty luminous and i didn't set my entire face the way i normally do so yeah really happy with how all that wore and how it all held up let's talk about the three new products so first of all the eye shadow is starting to crease slightly right here which you can see can you see that it's creasing a little bit honestly unless my eyes were completely closed you wouldn't be able to really see that so it's not a huge deal breaker to me and considering i didn't set this and there was a concealer underneath so my eyelids were not completely dry when i applied this i think the wear of it is really nice in the future i do feel like i would use this more as like a base product for other eyeshadows versus on its own but it wasn't too bad on its own i feel like i could make it last longer by setting it with a powder eyeshadow though which is what i would have normally done but i wanted to again see how that product performed on its own let's talk about the blush i feel like i'm actually surprised at how well this lasted throughout the day i wasn't sure if it was going to just because it was really emollient and kind of sheer so i thought it would be the first thing to fade on my complexion honestly and i feel like it's still there it obviously is more sheer it looks pretty natural but the longevity is definitely there so i'm excited about it if i had to pick between the two current rare beauty blush formulas i honestly would still go with this one this one's gorgeous it blends out like a dream it is more of like a matte finish though you get more of like a moussey texture with this so i guess that's something to also mention is this one's more matte this one's a little more dewy so it depends on what you are going for but if i had to choose honestly i would still pick this formula but i was happy with the wear of that blush i really really liked this lip balm actually i'm gonna apply a little bit more obviously it didn't last the eight hours i ate dinner but i was actually surprised at how long it did last and my lips felt super hydrated while it was on my lips but it doesn't look heavy or feel heavy i could see myself reaching for this quite a bit and i would actually be really interested in picking up some of the other shades in this so yeah overall the new collection i felt was really nice if we're talking about the whole brand in general and the things that i personally am enjoying the most it's honestly the primer i feel like it's so beautiful and so radiant and if you're somebody who likes that in a primer where you want your complexion to just be really glowy but i also feel like it helps with the longevity this is one of my favorite products my top favorite product honestly from everything though is the highlighter the liquid highlighter is so beautiful i kept catching glimpses of my complexion in the mirror i absolutely love this i really do enjoy every single one of these products i think the foundation wears really well as well concealer is nice the setting spray is nice i'm not disappointed with any of these products but it just kind of depends on what you're looking at buying i don't feel like you can really go wrong with these products but the things that make me most giddy are definitely the highlighter and actually this blush mine is in the shade bliss i definitely need to pick up more shades of this it's such a good formula you guys i love it so yeah overall thumbs up for me on all these rare beauty
