hi i'm Jammin Jay i'm going to show  you how to use this move transition   in obs which is really good for streaming  or whatever other things you do in obs   this is a different day than i was originally  recording the video i'm now editing the video   if all you want is help on how to download  and install the obs plugin go to right   here (0:37) if you have the plugin all ready  to go and you just want help on setting it up   go right here (2:02) and if you're just trying to  troubleshoot sources that are not recognizing each   other in different move transitions go to right  here (4:00) if you want to watch the whole video   thank you to begin i just googled move transition  obs to download the move transition we're on move   transition on the obs forums go to download up  here i'm going to show you how to put the files   right into where they belong with this one so  let's download it once you've downloaded it your   downloads should have these two folders data and  obs plugins as with other obs plugins that you   can download you literally drag and drop these  to where they belong you have to find your obs   files this is not hard mine are on the local  disk let's go to program files obs studio   is where we're supposed to be you can see  there are corresponding folders data and obs   plugins let's start with obs plugins open that  up 64-bit and we have a lot of dll and pdb files   that's exactly what we're dealing with here  in the download open up obs plugins 64-bit   we've got dll and pdb literally just drag them  into here okay step two let's go back to data   obs plugins move transition we will  not have to go past this point in the   download come over here follow the same sequence  obs plugins and here are a bunch of folders of   other obs plugins that are being used in obs once  again just drag it right over and you should be   good to go at this point you can open obs backup  once you've got it downloaded you should have   the move option in your transitions add move right  here i named mine move so not super crazy if you   don't have this scene transitions option go to  view docs add scene transitions great so let's go   to properties on this i'll show you how i've got a  setup the only thing that really matters from the   properties of your move transition is match name  this is how the sources will recognize each other   most of these i actually just left on their  default this is just how smoothly it'll transition   and then you can pick where they're going to  bottom center bottom right top right and then   if you hit preview transition i honestly didn't  find it terribly useful but that's kind of what   it'll look like here's the practical part this  one's just a normal basic webcam scene and this   is what the move looks like if i don't have  all those other sources in this scene as well see it all it looks okay it looks good  but they're all coming from or to one spot if i put all of the same sources in the other  scenes i can get a very smooth pretty transition   this smooth move between very similar scenes but  then i have this full gameplay scene right here   the way that i did this one is this  pink border that's around my webcam here   exists in this scene except it's just huge on  the outside if it did not exist in this scene   it would just kind of fly off the screen which  still can look okay and you see this and this grey   border that's around my webcam right now exists in  this scene as well it's just a lot bigger around   the outside where you can't actually see it in the  scene so in this scene i've got pink border big   pink border small for them to be recognized in the  other scenes by this software they cannot be full   screen transformed i had a problem with this when  i was first figuring this out so sometimes if i   were to throw it in my scene it would look  something like this i want to resize this   and i go transform uh fit to screen great so now  i've got it there but here's where the problem   comes in well what just happened this case of  stardew it's the exact same source but on this   scene it is not transformed to be full screen  on this scene it is transformed to be full scene   so they are not recognized as the same source  so what i have to do is go to my game source transform uh where is it oh reset  transform so now it's going to be all wonky   and it's kind of annoying the only way i work  around i found is to size it manually like this so now it fits to the full screen but it's  not transformed officially as full screen   so check it out so now it works just fine make  sure that all of your sources in each scene are   transformed consistently whether it's full screen  or not uh that way they can be recognized and   work properly in this move transition everything  i'm doing from this point on is just personal   preference so if you want to get some ideas from  this cool you want to bounce thank you anyway i   i skipped to studio mode now so that we can see  exactly what is happening in these transitions if   you drag this little thing it'll show your  transition so during my streams i like to   switch to this scene for uh 30 seconds to a minute  and then back to this scene for my main gameplay   when i'm playing games because here i've got  my restream so people on different platforms   can see what they're saying or communicate  i also i'm just reminding people that i do   have subs follows and like goals as i restream  to different platforms but as i drag this guy   i can see slowly exactly what happens in  the transition look at the border around me   it does exist in this next scene it's just really  big it comes across if you don't like how that   looks that's okay but it comes across and now it  actually does exist in this scene it's just all   the way around the outside and when i go back  you can see that the gray border in my game   does the exact same thing and  so does the other pink border and all the rest of the things the subs the subs  follows and like goals just they just disappeared   out to the side if i were to transition to this  scene with just me pretty much the whole scene   would just kind of yeed itself off to the side  which isn't a bad thing it doesn't look bad one thing that's important to know is i do have  a consistent background as a source through all   of these so that it just looks a lot smoother  that background does exist in both scenes if   that was helpful like the video subscribe or  you know do whatever i am streaming on twitch   youtube and facebook three times a  week tuesday thursday saturday also   i'm responsive on twitter so i'd love to  make new friends in all sorts of places
