this is a 200 meal this is a dollar meal and in this video I'm gonna try meals at every budget to see if you can enjoy New York no matter how much you spend at the very bottom of the New York City food chain is the dollar pizza slice and these spots are absolutely dying out 99 fresh Pizza located just a block from Grand Central is my absolute favorite they just had a line out the door and I think the locals know what's up here to get two slices so fast a lot more efficient than going to the DMV I'll tell you two slices two dollars nothing fancy here there's a certain consistency to spots like this where you don't have like super high expectations for the best slice of your life but for a dollar are you really complaining not crispy enough for what it is I've always wondered how long will these places stay in business they've been around since the 90s and with everything else in the city getting so expensive the fact you can still get a slice for a buck shocks a lot of people who aren't from New York I talk to a lot of native New Yorkers and some tell me that they think dollar pizza's absolute trash it's not worth it and they could be right if you're comparing this to really good pizza spots just like I would never compare a New York slice to a neapolitan pizza I wouldn't compare a dollar slice to your average New York slice these serve a utility to me this is like a snack food they're open from 9 30 in the morning until five o'clock in the morning I saw a bunch of delivery drivers popping up on their bikes and I thought how do you order dollar pizza and then I realized that's what they were eating in between their deliveries I saw a mom on the subway with two young girls and Dollar Pizza is pretty easy to spot and she was giving them each a slice for a snack after school having kids here I know it's expensive having options like this like whatever your income level is whatever your budget is if you're visiting from overseas you're not gonna find Dollar Pizza in any other city in the U.S and it's become such a part of New York culture I wouldn't tell you to drive in from Connecticut for this like I would say to drive in for a Luigi's or a Bleecker Street Pizza but if you're by Grand Central about to take the train home I think it's a great value for a dollar they're actually owned by immigrants from Bangladesh they're doing the community a real service for this pizza I'm telling you this is just a 10 minute walk from Times Square and I think one of the best hidden gems in all of Hell's Kitchen for our 50 meal we're eating at easy paella and Tapas easy paella was born with the idea of having a fusion between Venezuelan and Spanish food and also to make the paella experience easy part of the fusion actually we have the the history of our idea here with the easy Paya but if you see the menu we have a whole page of Tapas from Spain and a whole page of tapa from Venezuela so we have a nice variety of Tapas here 50 special is that for one person or for two people for two all right for the special I want to get the tostones with carne and I want to do the Caribbean chicken paella like medium spicy [Music] this is a very Venezuelan dish which is tostones wow Venezuelan Tapas I really like restaurants like this because they're not that big they're cozy like like a New York City hotel room like a New York City Apartment you know you get to talk to the waiters the owner and one thing that I love about a spot like easy paella is it's so New York I mean yeah you could find like legit super authentic paella places or you could go to something that's a bit of a fusion and try food from two different cultures getting our Venezuelan Tapas on here this is reminding me a lot the meat of uh like ropa Vieja which I've had before the tostones nice and crunchy this is a good sharing plate now remember this is 50 for two people I'm getting a little bit greedy right now some of the dipping sauce on top a great thing about Easy Pie is how close we are to Broadway we want a nice dinner and you're in a bit of a rush come here first you could even do this 50 special perfect for a cute little date night as well you're a tourists walking around all day this right here is the reward after walking from Miles and Miles this sangria [Music] thank you so much I love the the presentation of this again this is for two people plenty of food spicy Caribbean chicken [Music] um unless it feels home cooked to me here just the right amount of spicy sauce on this too different style of paella which I don't know if you're necessarily gonna find easily in New York these have way too much food for one person I'll tell you right now I also like the open kitchen layout here I'm a big fan of that in any restaurant anywhere in the world I mean you could see them in the big pot stirring your paella making it fresh like right in front of you it's a good mid-range option for anybody because you can get a vegetarian paella seafood paella chicken paella or land and sea paella if you're feeling extra bold film with Bavarian cream and actually we have cinnamon powder and some toppings chocolate and strawberry or what kind of dinner special doesn't include dessert this is a this is putting me in a festive holiday food right now let me try this the Korean cream inside the secret ingredient this is like a complete trip to Latin America in one meal you know I love the way the the strawberry and the chocolate syrup on top just complements this whole thing they could just sell churros and I might come here for dessert I'm serious they were just at churro spot I remember 50 special here only Monday through Friday [Music] so we're gonna do something luxurious I figured we'll go 45 stories above Broadway for a four course tasting menu that is unlike anything you're gonna find in New York and we're gonna bring the wifey along for the ride hi let's do this brought her back finally Adriana [Music] my ears welcome drink cheers [Music] perfect after that's right it's like we're at a fancy wedding yeah you're right happy hour and if you're going to spend money in New York being this High definitely helps I know we got Chrysler Building right there we're at Le petite Chef an immersive dining experience and well you see the projectors up there lights on the table little sneak peek of what's to come we have your first one Whispering angels from Provence friends it's our Rose it's going to be here with our fresh variety there is a wine pairing included so we're gonna get wine with all three of the first courses don't finish it before the meal you're right I do drink too fast whole point is to be paired she knows me too well yeah place your napkins in your neck yoga and make sure your plate is perfectly aligned with a magical circle of land please silence your phone so as not to disturb the other guests and now without further Ado allow me to introduce you all the way from France measuring six centimeters the world's smallest chair look at the T-shirt okay so the the chef is literally making the food in front of us I can 100 say I've never seen something quite like this before you nope never this is pretty interesting now I understand why I saw some kids here squash puree below we have some delicate squash rings with some fresh fig we have a little spice Apple there's some pumpkin seeds pomegranate seeds and seed and then we top it all off like a nice balsamic pearls like an explosion of flavors but you get one after another to another and they all of them combined and it's really good I actually love it having a projector having this interactive experience food's made more or less in front of you and the wine really pairs well with this with these are flavors that I will never put together of course I'm not a chat but they work so well together like so delicious it's bread you know I recall Gordon Ramsay on an episode of Hell's Kitchen was scolding restaurants for not replacing the utensils between courses all right they clearly know what they're doing I would classify this as private communal dining because you are you are working at the pace of everybody else in the room this is trippy oh it's a seafood themed [Music] oh saffron risotto with butternut squash they add a poached Bean Lobster with a Parmesan Frito and pizza and juice to finish it off and then it's topped off a little Chad and turn on olive oil I like this like you're eating and this is very peaceful like having all the fish honor you it's like we're eating on a giant fish tank right now yep I have not felt so far away from that dollar slice we had earlier than I do right now feeling very rich at the moment I don't normally go out of my way to order Lobster but I am quite happy with this one feeling very luxurious right now we're flying first class on a nice Airline getting the sky high views definitely doesn't hurt California yourself all the beef's already there I've never seen like grilling like this before I gotta tell you [Music] I'm gonna see I served with a parsley puree we have some grilled broccoli Robin carrots and Brussels sprouts chimichurri sauce finish off with the prtc's production I gotta tell you whatever experience you're looking for in New York you can find it I think you're more excited for the beef shorter than I am I'm drooling [Music] and I really like this one so good A little chimichurri sauce on top this has been the star of the show I've got to say practically worth the price of admission just for this short rib you don't feel overwhelmed everything works perfect together I'm very picky on my beef and I'm such a fan of this short rib what do you think of this kind of experience for a couple for a good date oh my God perfect day you have a nice view you're in the middle of one of the most popular areas in New York for tourists you have excellent food wine we have everything for a date when she dances she likes her food that's the Telltale sign [Music] oh yeah what I think he died dusted in chocolate from matcha marshmallow we have some raspberries white chocolate pearls with coconut flakes on top we have gold spray chocolate caps and what we're going to do there is on the side of your dessert we're gonna pour it slowly over those caps it's going to create a cool little illusion and that'll complete the whole dessert experience oh wow normally dessert is an afterthought but I might remember dessert more than anything you don't just have a lot of flavors going on you have a lot of textures going on like crunchy so super soft cold warm everything it's like a whole experience in your mouth that was one of the best desserts I've had in my entire life we don't typically do fine dining together but I think it is worth a Splurge every now and then 200 meals every weekend now you spoiled me you see what I've done I cannot go back thank you I have to say that was very memorable especially if you're staying near Times Square oh yeah I didn't expect to find a place so now we're nothing I know I'm pretty sure there are a lot of them but I think when you go to Times Square you're like it's good it's not this is definitely good and as a little bonus you can just walk out to Times Square right after if you want
