Hello guys! Welcome to another episode of TwoSet Violin! This time we have even more musicians! - Eddy: Whoa! - Brett: Look at that! We have Minjin... They all play different instruments. There's only two violinists here, Eddy and myself. And that's what this game is all based on. This is called The Telephone Game. We're gonna be in teams of four. There's gonna be three rounds. Easy, medium, hard. It's either Eddy or myself plays the piece that is drawn out. The next person in the other team has to try and play what we played. As it passes on, the last person which is either me or Eddy have to try and guess what the other person played. So meanwhile, like, everyone's gonna be waiting outside with the earphones on, so they can't hear. People come up, scissors, paper, rock. Winner goes on that side, loser goes on this side. Scissors, paper, rock. Winner's on this side, right? Yeah. Scissors, paper, rock. Scissors, paper, rock. Scissors, paper, rock. Eddy: How does that even go again? Eddy: Minuet in G, by Bach. Okay guys, so we're just going... Oh, it's push. We're going outside here. - We need the strongest person to go first. - I don't know that that's me. I wouldn't say bass is a string instrument. Okay, fine. You want me to go first or last? No, first. Because that's going to give us- - We need the strongest amount of melody first. - It's so much pressure. Okay. - Okay. - Brett: And then... Alex? Uh, sure. And then I can just... I'm a saxophone player. I'm gonna be worse. Phoebe, Alex, Emma. - That's it. - Yeah. - That's the strategy. - Are you last? Oh!! They're sending in the string player first, hey. Ooh... Alright, this is easy. Can I practice? No? No. I will send the next person in. That's some very interesting fingering. It's a bass fingering. - That was beautiful. - Thank you. How is he better than me!? Tijana: But I mean, have you ever played violin? As a kid. Ohh... You didn't tell us that! I mean, I also had a year of violin in primary school, - What?! - but like... What?! I was seven, and I cried every lesson and every practice session until I was allowed to play the saxophone. So I don't know if I'm exactly... I also only played for one year. Oh, no, it's... No pressure, Emma, but this all relies on you. I think I'm gonna start crying again! Yes! Minuet No. 3? - Minuet, in G. - Eddy: Minuet. Eddy: Who's it by...? Bach. Nice. - Eddy: Yeah, you got it. - I'm so sorry! No, no, but... Alex just revealed he actually played the violin before... - when he was a kid. - Yeah, but so has Emma. So obviously they had different experiences. I just like had a PTSD flashback. I was like tearing up. Like, I'm not okay! Does the winning team get a bubble tea? - Phoebe: I think so. - Okay. Phoebe: I'm thirsty. Eddy: Alright, we gotta... Let's go, let's go. Phoebe: Can you deliberately play really badly, so they can't understand? So we're outside. What's our order gonna be? I feel like Minjin will have the most chance to play well. Tijana: I feel like you should be in the middle. - Tijana: You have the most chance of guessing it, - Saving it. - Tijana: and then doing it right. - That's true. - If you get the rhythm right... - This is an easy challenge. Hopefully, I can guess. So who should go first? - Yeah. - I think you should go first. - Okay. - Eddy: Okay, first, second, third... and then me. Alright, wait, how do I hold it? I don't know. Oh, come on! I can't do it! Why is it not changing?! You're on the wrong string! - If you're on the A string- - Phoebe: Don't help her! Okay, yeah... Phoebe: Nah! Has she actually played it? Yes. I'm not, I'm not... I can't help anymore. - Phoebe: It's not gonna get better. - Okay. Oh no! I'm guessing it's this piece. I'm guessing. Dude, you could actually play! Yeah, I can play. Oh, she started showing off! How do you keep this thing? Yeah, that's pretty good. Okay. Dude, your neck looks so uncomfortable. What?! - Let me try again. - Eddy: Okay, okay, okay. Oh wait, let me play it with the rhythm. Yeah, the rhythm, rhythm. Focus on rhythm! - What the f***? - Minjin: This is exactly how I played. Alright. Okay, I think I know. I think I know. I think I know. Is it Beethoven Ode to Joy? - YEAH!!! - Yeah! Let's go!!! - Okay. - You know, it's the crochets and the... "duh–duh-duh" at the end. Yeah. Spiccato, off the string! Brett: Alex is a good player, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, and I can play. I can play, but he's better. Brett: Okay, let's just switch it up. - Brett: Alex, Phoebe, then Emma. - Yep. Brett: And then the next one can be... Brett: Next one's the hardest. What if I went in the middle? - That way if I do a dodgy job, - Maybe. there's a chance that someone can recover before it gets to Brett. Brett: Or do you want Alex, Emma, then Phoebe? - We can try that before the hard round. - Brett: Yeah, let's do Alex, Emma, then Phoebe. Okay. Or if you want the solo bit... We can't... We're not doing that. Okay, I at least know the song. Like, I know what it's gonna sound like. - Phoebe: I'm so ready for this. - Okay. I feel really good! You look good. Let's go. I got it. - Phoebe: Alright. Nice! - Would you like it again? - Oops. - Okay, I don't need it again, but if you want to... I'll let her flex a bit more. - I'm getting the hang of it now. - Yeah! OH!! OH...!! Whoa! Well, Vivaldi, Four Seasons, Spring, so... Yeah, that's right. - Yes! - Nice! Emma was good! Phoebe: You're more confident this round. Emma: Yeah, you got it! I think I got it. Yes! - I got it! - So I don't have to do it anymore? - Shh! Shh! Shh! Shh! Shh! Shh! - Alright. Ooh...! - Fair enough. - Confidence! Okay. Oh... Yeah, you can tell by that, right? Yeah, I don't need to play the rest. Oh... yeah! Yes! I know. - Eine Kleine, Mozart. - Oh yeah. Is that right? Yeah...! Dude, you got it! Eddy: LOL. Minjin: What does it say? Eddy: They're so screwed. Okay, so this is the last round. Alex: I really hope this is impossibly hard, just for fun. - No! - I think so, too! - So Alex... - Yeah. - Emma... - Yup. - Then Phoebe. - Same thing. Okay, nah, it's perfect. Okay, we got it. That's it. It's quite a lot harder than the previous two. String, string, string... yeah. Okay! Phoebe: I gotta take this off. Oh, getting serious. Yes! Is there any chance I wouldn't know this piece? - No, you should- - Eddy: I can't say, I can't say. You can't ask. Is it an actual gliss at the beginning? No, you can't ask questions. It's Telephone Game! Whoops! Is she really playing it? - I don't know this piece. - No, you can't, you can't! - Eddy: Nah, nah. - No, I just don't know this piece! You just have to copy it as you hear it. I hope there's enough there that... - Brett can just see the pattern. - Brett will know it. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Eddy: Brett will know it. Brett will know it. Why is your face like that? I'm just blaming myself right now. That's what you played! I know! That's the problem. Are you sure there's glissando? Oh...! Gershwin! Brett: Rhapsody. Nah. That's what I thought, but it's not. It's Paganini La Campanella. Eddy: Let's go! Let's go! - I'm so sorry! - What is it? - Can you play it? - Yeah. - It sounds- - I thought it was gonna be Paganini Campanella, but I was like, "They wouldn't put non-violin..." Why did you go... That, that was on me. That was so hard! It is hard. Wow. It's all Alex's fault. Oh my god. Phoebe: Can you pick a section, like, randomly in the middle of it? Eddy: I think same order. Eddy: Just to keep it the same, yeah. Minjin: You just get the first note right. - Minjin: Get the first note right. - Yeah, get the first note right like I did. Yeah, yeah... And get rid of all the... - And then just rhythm. - Minjin: Yeah... - All the decorations, whatever. - Yeah, just simplify it. - Minjin: We want just the tune. One more time, just the first two notes. Okay. Tsk! Why is it not working now?! Relax, relax, relax. Oh my god. Can I just... - What am I doing wrong? - Relax, relax. Okay. Try standing properly. Violin lesson now. So how do you do vibrato? Um... Don't even worry about vibrato! - What are you talking about?! - You'll get it from that. Trust me! Just do open strings. That's the rhythm. I really feel I don't know this piece. You definitely know it. - I definitely know it? - Tijana: Yeah. And the first has like a vibrato. I don't know how to do it. Minjin: First note has a vibrato. It's not gonna work. It's not working. - Kang: Okay. - Minjin: Yeah? - Kang: Can I see that again? - Minjin: Yup, yup. I know the piece? - Brett: Oh yes, here we go. - Minjin: Dude, that was all we did. Order my bubble tea! Really? Yeah, really, really. - Really?! - Like, go back to the basics. That would be hard? Look at my body movements. Okay, okay, okay, let's go. Is it Gershwin? Is it Summertime Gershwin? Nah, you got it wrong. Actually? It wasn't the piece. It wasn't the piece! WHAT?! NO...!! So you played the right thing. - He played really well. - But something happened here. Phoebe: I just like that Minjin's like... "Okay, order my bubble tea now." There's something wrong with Gershwin. Yeah, we both guessed Gershwin! When violin playing is hard, it starts to sound like Gershwin. That's the conclusion of today. Alright guys, so that's it. 2-2. I think Gershwin won today. Gershwin, yeah! Anyway, we're still a bubble tea channel. Everyone gets a bubble tea after this. - Yeah. - So that's right. And also guys, check out everyone here.
