hole have you ever heard about the unreleased nintendo 64 game called cancer trophy crow sorry for my weird pronunciation another native english-speaking person youtuber at a butcher or butcher has actually uploaded the lore behind the development of this game and let me tell this guys it's very very dark it's very creepy we're gonna watch the lore behind the game i found the leaked version of talking about is catastrophe crow catastrophe have you ever heard about that that is until i was flipping through some of my old n64 magazines oh look at it crow was the highly anticipated project from manfred lorenz a veteran german game designer [Music] notorious perfectionist and founder of opus interactive that's ringing above space world 97 the team promised fearless exploration of unfamiliar worlds and something groundbreaking amazing this looks amazing probably just a bad translation with the eponymous crow based on his daughters the german board the cool thing is me as a german speaking person i know what stuff is standing there for taking his kid-friendly game so seriously in one of his few interviews that catastrophe crow was beyond a game and that it would push the boundaries of player experience of course this may just be hype a more european version of john romero is about to make you his journalists got their hands on a playable version one reviewer said it was bigger than banjo another said move over mario 64. i mean even from a jaded gamer point of view somebody who has seen thousands of games and said wow this is pretty neat stuff but then something went wrong but what just got wrong man the release date got pushed back a few months oh my gosh is this duke nukem oh no it's cyberpunk i don't know rumors began to circulate but but something had happened to their lead designer but one for lorenz was seemingly taking more and more control with programmers left in the dark and artists making hundreds of strange assets without knowing what they were for disgruntled anonymous staff one suggested that lorenz's home life had completely broken down saying that he hadn't seen his family in months president claimed that he had found something in the game something that manfred had unintentionally created in a post from february 2000 this footage from their original release date one staff member said he approached manfred directly pleading with him to think of the player and let them release the game to which manfred replied the player is gone what is she talking about spent nearly 10 million dollars on the project and could no longer pay their staff lorenz had everyone dismissed and barred himself inside the offices there he stayed still working on the game then at the end of 2001 this doctrine ontario is looking amazing all the release of the nintendo gamecube the n64 era finished and the deck characters came cool does it mean the game actually because of that manfred for probably the first time in years was not there all the development hardware and backups had disappeared manfred wasn't at home either and they learned that his wife had left the country over six months ago the only clue left was that his car and the sailing boat normally hitched to it were gone bro this two days later sounds very very dark manfred's boat was found floating a few miles off the coast of cucks haven there was no sign of him all the stolen equipment only a neat pile of clothes dad is he actually dead addressed to his wife the note makes no mention of the game or his death i don't actually understand we're standing there it's very very hard to to actually re-was standing there because of his handwriting seems like he told his wife that she was always there for him he wasn't able to look into the hats of certain people it seems like he finally found his very own way and came back home or some [ __ ] very very weird only that he had finally gone home catastrophe crow disappeared with him no one would ever play it what the game really was and what had obsessed its creators so relentlessly would remain a mystery lost to the debts or so i'd thought because since i first began this video i've been checking ebay every day for any sign of the game i can relate why i found this what appears to be a genuine development card from opus interactive i said i found out and we're gonna play it um i believe it should work fine on my pal n64 and if it doesn't we'll try something else but for now i just thought we'd do a play through okay well this is where his playthrough starts and i would say this is what our play through catastrophe crow opus interactive a leaked version we were diving very very deep down this rabbit hole holy crap is this loud this is like very very damn loud you have like no idea and this story starts 1998 1999 opus interactive licensed by nintendo oh [ __ ] he's not been home for days maybe he will talk with you and there we go we are playing as the captain's trophy crawl crow blue little nice we have a triple chomp mechanic similar to mario 64. there's our first way to go our workplace workspace whatever you want to call it but them i'm actually getting some r64 or banjo vibes watching this oh there's a crow where was she going damn look at this this is one fine place bro i can do wall jumps as well and triple g ons good finances right there but yeah people claim that this is one of the darkest games and we have seen why it's actually very dark i need to get up there it's actually pretty similar to mario 64. don't you think so as well so to have oh i have camera control as well i can sneak the coins to collect bro this game is absolutely amazing what about these figures i want to play some chess because that's how it's looking like man something that is totally off um is the music the music is missing my dedicated bros and i got a very uneasy feeling about that i need to get used to the weird jumping mechanics as well and the wall jumps oh if i'm holding the button i can turn the camera while moving can i do the wall jumps here it seems like it but i almost killed myself i actually did kill myself and i fell down here bro what actually happened to its wing it looks like it broke his wing or something that's why you can't fly and we made it up as i said there's still music missing and things are getting creepier and creepier i'll be doing here what is going on this is like the development of the game what is he typing what i'm trying to change the camera this character is turning and moving from its own very weird interact with him maybe are you typing bro h w q h t r o e e okay now this is where where the fun starts where is starting to get creepy what is that is there a monster it was a monster sitting and there's a monster standing please what the actual oh and turn to the crow again my thing's glitching out bro this is one hell of a weird discovery i'm not gonna lie about that but i have to go to that pc again oh the finances are not dropping as it seems that's some sad [ __ ] it's you know with the backstory about the game this this is pretty much a freaking horror game i'm not gonna lie about that this is insane but once again guys make sure to smash the like button for an amazing game like that i i can't interact with the telephone i'm trying everything out it seems like it's not it's not working it's no use it's no news i'm even supposed to be here holy [ __ ] is it just here does this house look a lot like the one from the developer of the game they've seen it in one video maybe i'm not supposed to be here whoa there was something where did you go she she vanished okay i was going back and i actually can't interact with the phone for some good reason okay i actually had to watch the original video created by adam butcher to know what i'm actually now supposed to do and it's actually very weird you have seen that one crow that was going this way you can actually go from this wall and this is now where things are getting even darker than before okay we're now in this black void with someone and a ship this could actually be the developer trust that is trying to get rid of the hardware that's how it's looking like oh my gosh i'm i'm johnny together with him okay this game this game is not normal at all my dedicated bros this is not okie dokie wowie in the middle of nowhere if you trees are around me whoa i think i just broke the game bro cyberpunk all over again but for real this is one hell of a creepy experience what is going on now are you alright there is no way did i die did crow die he's he's not saying anything he's pretty speechless and so am i oh my gosh the controls changed and they're weird i thought i actually need to jump down into this hole but i can't the telephone is ringing again they're invisible balls i don't know where i'm supposed to go maybe i need to follow the ring damn my girlfriend is loud again huh oh i'm supposed to go downstairs here i believe what the [ __ ] the game is glitching out it's getting out of control okay this has to be part of the game this has to be part of the game now this very weird environment once again yeah this is by far one of the darkest games i've ever seen in my live indicator what the heck we're back here in the beginning but everything is now glitching out when i try to spin enter the camera it's the sounds also very different i can't jump wait a minute i look different this is not a catastrophic crow [Music] what the heck am i supposed to to get back into that work place building wait nope nothing's happening bro i i actually got the feeling that i'm glitching the game what am i supposed to do and why is there teddy bear on the floor and it says crow everywhere [Music] maybe this game shouldn't have gotten leaked maybe it should have stayed a mystery people were digging way too deep down this rabbit hole and it's once again looking like the the house of the developer oh we entered this one okay bro isn't it a picture of the developer maybe i i i really can't tell you anymore but i'm actually getting freaked out like for real what is this this creepy environment wait a minute is that the building is that what we have seen in between the cut scenes yeah this is this is where the monster was sitting wasn't it the phone someone tried to call me i i really don't know anymore oh my gosh oh my gosh there is one door open but what if i enter this one i can't control anymore okay this seems to be some kind of cutscene me is not liking the sounds but look at that there's a chess board and there's blocks teddy bears here again what is going on here is it can trophy crow there's trying to i don't know is he in some kind of comber oh no he actually did drown or maybe this is i don't know the developer of the game that has killed himself as well and now his soul is pretty much trapped in this game this is how it ends my dedicated bros this is how it ends i'm back here at the youtube channel of edinbutcher okay this is by far one of the craziest games that i've ever played with one of the craziest lores ever i didn't get a rose and rats that was catastrophic pro 64 a very dark game that was actually created as far as i know by edinburgh we can't believe that someone would come up with a crazy story like that i really enjoyed this one and it's really unsettling and if i
