[Applause] it's gymnastics has wrong time when the spins let their NFC East lead slip away could Emmett find the endzone against the jet the old Boston hero led the Jets against the past with the Twitter bolts equally as exciting as the first the Niners what to do what they always do beat the Falcons but Atlanta was reaching for an upset John Elway in the Bronx took the perfect record in Oakland the new quarterback would be disabled for the Saints Barry Sanders hoping to run over the Chinese gram abdul-jabbar at the sky look working for Miami the struggling Eagles came home looking for a win against Arizona the jake plummer be the answer for the state big guard [Music] [Music] they only knew hi everybody I'm Chris Berman and welcome to week eight of NFL prenta to put really good action some good games coming right out of the finish it with me as always Tom Jackson Stuart's got a lot of slot stuff to get us jacked up about here right with Jack we're ready we're ready to go Burt let's get you caught up on those late games around the NFL a final Pittsburgh is beating the Cincinnati Bengals 26 to 10 so the Bengals won when the season started in August the problem is it's now September and October and they haven't won since the Steelers have won a 2610 highlight to that a little bit later on the Detroit Lions have just tied this game and a touchdown pass from Scott Mitchell to Johnny Morton under the two-minute warning now kicked good we're tied at 20 all the Lions about to kick off to the Giants with just as we say less than two minutes to go Oakland has their running game going spelled specifically Napoleon coffin but Denver has just scored we're waiting for the kick now so Oakland now trying to knock Denver from the ranks of the unbeaten that lead is down to 28 23 waiting for the kick as I understand it okay and Miami has beaten Baltimore 24 13 so two straight impressive performances by the Miami Dolphin three first half touchdown for Kareem abdul-jabbar well some big games at week eight in some games whether there was this game after two weeks the Rams were very hopeful about their season after two weeks the Seahawks were Owen too after eight weeks now buy of the plot has changed so here we go from st. Louis Red's on performance not good early second quarter Lamar Smith takes the pitch runs right stacked up for a four yard loss Todd and let there be light made the hit second goal Warren Moon nobody the mid 200s and you know the Seahawks he he's been there before time and I think he's giving him a little calm and the team is response I think certainly he is the difference you talk about the consecutive passes both teams fairly ineffective especially in the red zone of the numbers by Warren Moon between 200 and 300 but two INTs one in the red zone but again you see the difference a couple of plays by the Seahawks who have a couple of veterans who can make those kinds of plays the difference and I think when we speak to the ramp this is a ballclub a young ball club of veteran staff but I would say this you stay away from anything a nail making the balloon making for 15 years when you come back I think you have to give yourself some time and patience before that young group and that experienced staff get on the same page look like they started okay but obviously a long longest and at least thus far for the Rams who Phillips in and out of the lineup and gives you a credit they've that there was another guy in this league who had that nicknamed snake he had that ability to bring his team back from behind at the end of a game Jake had it in college like Montana had it in college like Flutie had it in college I think it's evident that it's one of the intangibles you have I can't wait to see him play a whole football game well I know ken cram is a starter and he probably will start but the way this season is going for Arizona December why not let the kid play they held their breath address we love this kid we love Jake Plummer from an Arizona State Boise Boise Idaho from Idaho he's a winner and we can't wait to see him play a little bit more well it was also new starting quarterback time for the New Orleans Saints and why not the way their season had gone Mike Ditka incompletion he played with poise he was effective in a game that they had to win a big game performance and I think more importantly when his team needed him you saw when he came on the field the attitude of the football team changed it picked up now what you have if you're Bill Parcells is an extra week to make a decision and he does have a decision well you can see just coming to the line of scrimmage with Everett now Bill Parcells have Drew Bledsoe number or at least that is number but figured him out because through throwing on the run today was not comfortable well I think there's certainly Bill Parcells know he wants to get drew bledsoe out of the pocket he wants to put people in his face but I think that could be said of many quarterbacks you know we always talk about a guy being ineffective when he's get under pressure well I think that in the case of Drew Bledsoe there is a real dramatic difference between him standing in the pocket looking down feeling throwing and him having to move and throw him having to think about that run although the numbers you know 24 of 38 to 94 not bad but in key moments that he was flustered a little bit what would have we go inside the numbers and just to put in perspective what the Jets win today over the Patriots beat if you think about their last two seasons they won a total of four games for in 28 - Bernie won five this year in the at home they've won as many games at home as they did over the span and they've already won more divisional games than they did over the two previous years that says it all inside the numbers
