NFL Primetime: 1994 Week 17 (December 24th, 1994)

[Music] it's Brad time Christmas stop coming up it's winning into the past either stay alive or they stay at home pork in Chicago pared down and clinched a playoff berth we'll find out who gets to keep playing the raid is for the Chiefs and who stays home for New Year's did the Giants have what it takes against the Dallas team without a ski cowboy or does it really matter at all then the Chargers steal a window seal a bye week good the cards jam up the situation the complicated Norris division so much to explain so little time we're making a list and checking it twice we'll find out who's naughty or night primetime coming to town [Music] [Applause] [Music] hello everybody Merry Christmas it's the Christmas Eve edition of NFL primetime the final Sunday but it's being played on Saturday of the regular season and what a day it is and with me as always as Tom Jackson with us not as always as Robin Roberts which means you know what we get to do all the games even the Robin games it was an interesting day and some of the team's you least expected to play well did so first though let's get you caught up on the late games around the NFL the Chiefs and Raiders the winner goes to the playoffs the loser does not two-minute warning Chiefs ball Kansas City leading the Raiders 19 to 9 they would have beat them 10 to the last 11 if this goes down as a final it's now a final but as the fastest two minutes in the history of football I guess so the Chiefs have bounced the Raiders from the playoffs Kansas City makes the playoffs it again neither Montana nor Hostetler finished highlights of that coming later on it's a final game like the old AFL days Pittsburgh and San Diego 3434 very unbuilt our like but it's been an entertaining game San Diego ball with about two minutes to go at the Murph the seats are working on the short week Monday night then go on the road but they're playing well at Denver the lead of 27 21 under three minutes ago in the fourth quarter the Oilers look like they'll finally win for Jeff Fisher del greco just kicked a field goal 24 to 10 the Oilers over the Jets with barely over a minute to go and what could be the last game at Anaheim the Redskins and Rams actually in a good one under two minutes to go the Redskins late about the count of 24 to 21 wowed the Eagles and the Cincinnati Bengals the Eagles have lost six straight the Bengals have lost five straight but yet in some ways this was the game of the day at least most entertaining deck the halls from riverfront there we go good action is rich coat tight wondering would this be his last game and would it be Randall Cunningham Glasgow well it is Tim Plummer eyes last game and he riding off into the sunset what we didn't leave in the same direction that Dion left what after Christmas but Tommy you know two teams played hard and gave the football fans a good show despite their records I think that speaks well for them and the game well I think we look to the next year for both of these football teams I think the Bengals have a lot to build on a defense that's stacked full of number-one draft choices you wait for those guys to come along offensively they discovered Jeff Blake as a quarterback darnay's Scott Karl Pickens at the wide receivers lots so a lot for a coach Shula to build on into next year and for Richie Cote I hope people will realize what a great coach he has been in Philadelphia he ends his coaching tenure eight games over 500 but that doesn't tell the tale of what he was able to do when he didn't have the proper talent on the
