New Camry vs Depreciated Jaguar

this is a brand new Toyota Camry SC and it costs about $330,000 and this is a 2017 jaguar ftype and you can buy used for around the same price today we're going to put both of these through the daily driver ringer and see if it's actually worth it to buy a used sports car over one of the most Dependable new cars on today's market welcome to Donut welcome to Donut so this is the brand new Toyota wheat bread go ahead but for basically the same money I say you ride in style all right how about a little wager we take each car and run him through the same day in the life Challenge and then after by God this thing's pretty nice I mean in a safe way what's wrong with being safe uh I guess nothing so this is the front-wheel drive model with 225 horsepower 225 is pretty good for a 90 sports car that was a performance oriented car yeah and now you get it with almost 50 Mi of the gallon yeah that's pretty good about that yeah especially living in California 400 Mi of range are you kidding me you know why I killed the dinosaurs so we could have gasoline oh you're pre-planting us oh my job you really got to think long term sometimes you have to trust in the camera see if it keeps it in the lane oh it's turning that's pretty cool hey you see nothing I own has that you might say Jesus Took the Wheel you've got a 7in digital dash the digital dash is pretty nice look at this big screen here the steering wheel feels okay it's not like great leather but the dashboard is spongy sounds like you're starting to come around my mom would be proud of this well think about how reliable it's going to be this would be very reliable but it also is the first generation of a new gen of the cam oh come on piss Posh you know also this has back seats so I can carry my dog and it's got a nice sound system oh listen to that I can't imagine why you would be thinking about anything other than this Toyota Camry it's brand new it's got no miles it's comfortable it's affordable it's efficient what more do you want this is a brand new car for only 30,000 bucks now this is a car this is a car oh yeah listen to this baby breathe it's fast a pickup that hit 70 pretty fast yeah well it makes 340 horsepower so 340 that's right 332 LBT of dork the 2017 Jaguar ftype it's a V6 model yeah you know what six is my favorite number that's why I like this thing thing gets up and goes it really does especially compared to that Camry yeah that Camry was a little Wheezy and this thing's rear wheeel drive just like you want fun it's got carplay is it's got Bluetooth Bluetooth connectivity it's got pay same money as a Camry you might have to get a little bit of a beat up one and settle for the base model yeah sure it's the base model but it still has over 100 more horsepower than the cry 100 more horsepower than the Camry usable horsepower as well it doesn't have to rely on the hybrid system to go faster it's just good old petrol power and you were just telling me this thing has a 18 gallon fuel tank 18 and 1 12 woo claims a highway range of 58 18 miles I think compared to the 400 yeah you might have thought the camera had good range technically this has better range this claims 28 m to the gallon on the highway and it'll get you there faster I'm going to consider your advice but I also am going to get the advice of a professional mechanic who may or may not side with [Music] you so hypothetically say I did just buy this what am I looking at maintenance cost wise well I mean if it's brand new like this you don't have to go to the Mom and Pop Shop you get it from the warranty from the dealer you don't got to get nothing out of your pocket that's pretty like the upside of it you don't have to worry about nothing for at least 2 to 3 years and these go like 10,000 mil on an oil change right oh yeah these are amazing now you guys are starting to get it can you turn it on I want to hear so it's on that's kind of a downfall right there that's a killer so now the engine's on WOW my foot's to the floor oh wow it sounds like a straight up Prius let's say I've owned it past my warranty what am I looking at maintenance cost wise possibly it's not that expensive maybe like about say oil change filter Canon filter and all that probably like 100 bucks yeah that's pretty normal what about the hybrid system is that something I need to worry about or does everyone know how to work on these now we're getting better at it it's really not that crazy I mean Toyota improved obviously with the batteries and all that and I'm pretty sure this one with the caler converter you're not going to have the same problem as the Priuses they getting jacked left and right you probably will start seeing like damages on your pocket maybe like 6 years from now depends how you take care of it too hello okay what do you think about this one okay pretty nice ride huh I can tell you like it yeah I like it let's hear the exhaust on this one versus the cam Camry wasn't even R I didn't even know if it turned on there you go give me some [Music] red no lie no lie that sounds way better than that Camry and this is stock right this is stock wow so obviously status and everything this car definitely is winning it's the mechanically though what am I looking at longevity wise you don't see these with high miles because it's like a cruiser you know like only the weekend this is a Sunday Cruiser that's what this is for it's also a bit under the radar no one's really looking for Jaguars nobody because everybody's scared of the maintenance and believe it or not these bad boys are not that bad yeah you hear that I mean I've worked on a lot of them and they never come back so it's just a natural luxury car price hike yeah yeah yeah does it have like the upgraded brakes on this one or no no this was pretty standard so a little bit cheaper you'll probably be in the 5 600 bucks for a brake job yep oil change pretty normal right yeah it's about like on this one maybe like 200 bucks it's not too bad $200 that's not horrible obviously I'm going to spend a little a little bit more and maintenance if I buy this car but honestly the fun versus cost level here is looking pretty good so we need to put it to the test and see how it does with my daily [Music] chores in order for something to be a good daily driver it needs to be able to do my chores and first on that list grocery shopping we're going to get some wine and Wafers that's the recommended diet it's all you're allowed to eat when you're with me [Music] wow Justin look at all this trunk space how nice is that we've got a bunch of camera gear and room for groceries and room to continue running errands here's the car look at all that room look at all this space in here wow we got plenty of room in here we even got more stuff than we did with the cam grocery shopping done what's next on the list we've got to go to the parts store to get parts for my project car perfect I love the parts store time for some car parts ooh what are we going to get here uh I need an O2 sensor some fluids some filters uh a couple things what do you need that stuff for this thing's brand new I haven't bought this yet I've got old cars laying around I need to fix okay well let's go shopping [Applause] [Music] so we just got back from our parts Hall you know not too much stuff good a little bit you got plenty of room in the trunk for all that absolutely I do and we still haven't even gotten to the back seat yet so run away I'm stealing hurry up we got to go on we pay for everything don't worry then why did it beat shut up another drawer I have to do pretty regularly is take my dog out he's got to do his peas and poops I am a little worried however that he's not going to fit inside the just pooped a yeah as much as I don't want to give it to it I think I have to give the Camry a point on the errands ah the dog on my lap is fine I was just [Music] kidding okay Justin obviously this Camry is a good commuter it's efficient it's practical you can run errands in it but you keep whining about it being too boring yeah so let's take it on some curvy roads and see if this thing is actually capable of being a fun car to drive oh Dodgers Stadium you know me and my dad are big Dodgers fans are you yeah not Angels fans a we are Angels F it picks up and you know it doesn't handle terribly it does handle really good as do most modern cars it's really surprising it's got multi-link suspension with sway bars I don't want to die today you just resurrect right yeah drive this thing off the side a little cooler huh let's crash test this thing then I'm sure it has a festar safety rating and isn't that what really matters oh Jesus feel this thing hug the road it'll definitely get you onto the highway it's just like when you drive a Civic right you know it's not fast but it feels good this doesn't have that feeling well but you're not having any emotions not towards the car not while I'm driving it I'm not feeling excited wow this thing really grips and rips huh it does man it feels really good wind in our hair yeah yeah I'm a little bit chilly but that's okay the cool Factor well it just always happens when I'm above ground you know oh we can push these people off that ledge you love that wouldn't you this thing handles really good it's got tons of usable power it's almost instant yeah this thing's a freaking sports car it makes power all over the place thanks to that supercharger oh it's Nimble oh it's agile what a machine I'm not really much of a convertible guy but when you have it it is really nice pretty nice isn't it and it's nice to show off you know you really want to be very prideful so it's nice to show off who owns the sick Jag this is a fun car yeah even for a base model that's what I like to hear and you know what ftype stands for right not fun oh all right so after a nice long day of visiting mechanic picking up parts getting groceries all the chores even some fun driving yeah we've been driving around all day time to fill the gas tank up yeah let's see how much gas this thing's [Music] guzzled one gallon or two gallons thinking one oh I was going to say 1.5 it didn't even make it to that we're at $6 1.3 gall that's basically free oh we still didn't make it to five yeah that's uh it's pretty good what an efficient and economical car it is a smart decision it's a very smart decision but we're not in the business of smart decisions I am this is the one I can tell this one has to use premium so it's losing already especially in California because it's a premium car we hit 2 gallons it was more expensive especially because it's premium but we also use a lot more fuel half a gallon Worth to be exact so definitely point for the Camry but I had a lot more fun burning gas in this thing so which one of these $30,000 cars would I buy the reliable safe economical Camry with a warranty brand new or the pretty fast pretty fun convertible loud Jaguar I'm going to pick the Jaguar now here's why you can fit groceries in here and I fit about $100 worth of groceries in there which is about all anyone in La can afford so uh that's fine right the only problem is is I can't fit the dog in and the reason is cuz this is with me so how about Edgar come here buddy you can go ride with your brother Jesus okay well I got
