Narrative Transcends All In One Piece

if you guys ever watched the set the programmer video you will be familiar with how he scales fictional characters I don't know how many people do this but this type of formula cannot be used in one piece uh if you calculate the 362 joules to the radius of just Rosa while factoring in the circumference of the island we can see that King Kong gun is massively Universal and since sanji's kick is massively hypersonic and can be calc to wall level you should be upscale to 400 times the speed of light throw that [ __ ] the [ __ ] away [ __ ] like that and feeds alone it's not a soul way to gauge another person's strength when power scanning a story like one piece in this video we'll discuss why narrative and portrayal is more important than thieves when it comes to power scaling while at exactly what the term means the basic definition of narrative is a message that tells the particulars of an act or occurrence or course of events uh that might have sounded like a whole bunch of nonsense but here's a superior IQ definition to make it easier to understand narrative can be viewed as the events and circumstances that have to take place in one piece for the sake of the story I hope that's easier and why is narrative so important in one piece because one piece is a story where not many character strength is showcased through on-screen combat and we are completely clueless about their full capabilities Odo was able to completely Hypnotize The Casual one-piece watchers into believing Shanks is the Undisputed top one strongest character in one piece mainly because of his Aura and his minimal Feats is enough to make people go Bonkers because majority of the top terrorists don't have as hype moment or have showcased their full strength and though most people also don't tend to factor in narrative me personally I can almost guarantee you emu strong machenks but when I say some [ __ ] like that I usually get hit with emu is featless it's easy to look at Shanks and believe he is the strongest but I completely understand because he honestly does look like it in a way that's what Oda kinda wants to make us believe a lot of characters have certain narrative importance that will require their strengths to be at a certain level regardless of them not showing any Feats right now also Oda 10 super trick characters to be a certain level of strength and one piece without showcasing their full abilities to us like Shanks for example and this is quite frankly a majority of the top tier fighters in one piece the prime example of what I'm trying to convey to you guys is Monkey D Dragon this is the father of Luffy and he's a part of the Monkey D family and most importantly he is a d he's the leader of the Revolutionary Army and is the World's Most Wanted Man and should technically have the highest bounty in one piece since he's the biggest threat to the world government the main problem with dragon is that he's a deadbeat father who left his son without a mom or a dad and has a reached out to him once even though his son's brother and his crewmate were literally living with him he cares about his son's Foster brother more than his own [ __ ] son imagine you're adopted and you find out your homeboy you knew for 17 years was adopted too and you go to his house I don't know to play some [ __ ] what are you guys playing nowadays Valor and you meet his pops only to find out that that's actually your pups and you came from his sack but he treats that boy like he says something but anyways so I was saying the problem with dragon is that he's completely feetless and hasn't done jack [ __ ] in the series but narratively we understand there's big implications for Dragon to be relevant in the final Saga he's a man who odor kept his power completely hidden and teased it a thousand chapters ago and will more than likely showcase his true power in the biggest stage of one piece we know a narratively he's above his own right hand Sabo who is also one of the strongest commanders in one piece when you ignore all this and strictly use Feats it's easy to say pretty much anyone is stronger than Dragon I can argue had a curry beats dragon because he has future say and he fought a whole cake Island Luffy extreme death he was being that Luffy's ass for majority of the fight and he has really good arneman haki and he's the right hand to big mom narrative and portrayal is always best accompanied by feeds to help further gauge your character strength but they kind of go hand in hand in some cases if someone performs a strong feed a character's narrative might not be good enough or if someone simply performs a fee greater than that person who has a narrative over them but that's only if they couldn't achieve that said feat if that was confusing let me give you an example if mioc fought Roger and lost and shang's fault Roger and one I wouldn't care about Miha being the world's strongest swordsman making him technically strong in the shanks because I literally seen a feat that 100 disproves that since mihawk lost a Roger and Shanks beat Roger at that point The Narrative of mihawk being the world's strongest swordsman can't definitely not put him over Shanks but that's not how things typically work in one piece but there are scenarios similar I thought Sherry was insanely strong right now since we're in the final Saga of One Piece because at some point he has to be extremely strong since the narrative demands it if he's gonna fight azoro in the future but his recent fruits on hachunosu had me thinking he's not that level yet or he's just not that guy to be fighting Zoro I say narrative transcends all because in the story of one piece a person can be considered one of the strongest while having little to no Feats it can even be considered one of the strongest with Feats that don't align with their narrative what do I mean by that last part specifically their Feats don't align with their narrative let's ask Captain Hook crocodile vs Luffy and alabaster in this fight crocodile lost to Luffy after he beat his ass two times Luffy be crocodile in an intense fight that version of crocodile was relative to a Ada boss to goofy Luffy was obviously stronger but some people say crocodile is underestimating Luffy or whatever they should still be relative a couple of arcs later we go to Maroon 4 and we see crocodile again mind you no time skip has happened he got sent to jail between then and now crocodile put up to Marine 4 looking like key Rancher he literally bitched mihawk and told him brother for your own good you better watch yourself after he stopped his attack he was also able to square off against doflamingo we also know to be way way way way way way stronger than Alabaster Luffy even if he got stronger within the time skip that version of dolphy will beat the living brakes off of Luffy like no death then we see crocodile talking to Whitebeard like he was having fights with him in his prime the [ __ ] this bro I mean by you are this week when he defeated me well bro what are you talking about like that version of wiper Could Kick Your Ass it's like is there a next version of cockatiel we never see like what the [ __ ] happened brother you are not him it's almost like he was portrayed a completely different person from the man back in Alabaster he looked like he could have been stronger than Luffy was getting pushed around the entire Arc well why did the crocodile whose feet scaled him relative to Alabaster Luffy look so strong because that's what the narrative demanded it you see what I mean the narrative needed crocodile to be shown in that light and the narrative also demanded he be relevant in the final Saga of One Piece by being a part of cross skill I will most likely show crocodile even stronger than we've seen before yeah I told mihawks Feats are lackluster someone even say he's carried by his title because his Feats are so [ __ ] [ __ ] Emery Ford he gets stalled by Feasta he runs from Shanks and Ducks him or rather fight a man who's getting jumped he gets stopped by a crocodile he says his sword holds no restraint and proceeds to get evaded by three times can Luffy several times these moments make him look weaker than he actually is these moments don't make him seem like the man who can potentially be stronger than Shanks especially when you have guys like Shanks one-shotting people like garbage man who has a 3 billion Berry Bounty well once again guys say it with me this time why doesn't that [ __ ] matter because of what I said because of what [ __ ] narrative yes look at you I'm so proud of you I'm proud of you man here's a treat good boy poor girl I always forget there might be one or two females on here I can't exclude them the narrative demands mihawk to be a Sandy strong since he's the world's strongest swordsman and that title holds relevant to Zorro how strong Zoro gets before he bites mihawk is going to determine how strong Niha gets because he will likely be stronger than that Zorro since Zoro needs to level up mid fight like any other fight and so right now is insanely strong and we probably aren't even close to that mihawk narrative can also be used to weaken people that might sound [ __ ] but give me a sec Yamato has advanced conquerors hockey which is the best ability in one piece but has absolutely zero narrative importance in one piece as it stands right now he thinks he's coming back whatever but just having that ability alone is gonna get you nowhere if you're not put into situations with it many people believe right now assanji is a stronger than Yamato rightfully so because she has the ability and performs a good feat with it against kaido besaji narratively is a character who's going to keep growing alongside the pirate king he's gonna be one of the most notorious and legendary Pirates to ever exist he might not ever have the best ability in the series known as advanced conquerors hockey but he will be stronger than Yamato Yamato has all that potential has that ability but she's not going to be in situations in the future to look like one of the strongest characters to ever exist here's another example of the narrative weakening someone that I think you guys can relate to a lot of people believe in the community that order has nerfed big mom in the kid in law fight that's the case Oda done that for the sake of the narrative because he had kid a lot beat big mom who wasn't shown to her full strength because that's what the story demand you see how narrative controls how strong a character will be there's a ton of factors to gauging someone's strength in one piece and when we're talking power scaling what has the character been said to be capable of what is the character's purpose and how does that relate to his strength how is the character portrayed what's this character's status in one piece or what will his status be in the future these are things I equate into power skating alongside feeds because they are also very important as well like I said they work hand in hand but that's pretty much it guys let me know what you think down below this
