peace i leave with you my peace i give to you i do not give to you as the world gives do not let your hearts be troubled and do not let them be afraid peace be with you let not your heart be troubled you believe in god believe also in me peace be with you daughter be of good cheer your faith has made you well go in peace son be of good cheer your sins are forgiven you be of good cheer daughter your faith has made you well come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and i will give you rest take my yoke upon you and learn from me for i am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls these things i have spoken to you that in me you may have peace peace to you as the father has sent me i also send you are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of god have faith in god this is the work of god that you believe in him whom he sent if anyone thirsts let him come to me and drink he who believes in me as the scripture has said out of his heart will flow rivers of living water blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled follow me and i will make you fishers of men the kingdom of heaven is at hand [Music] be merciful just as your father also is merciful blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy as the father loved me i also have loved you abide in my love god has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind for all who are led by the spirit of god are children of god blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see god the grace of the lord jesus christ and the love of god and the communion of the holy spirit be with you all may the god of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that you will be abound in hope by the power of the holy spirit the time is fulfilled and the kingdom of god is at hand repent and believe the gospel let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven amend your lives for the kingdom of heaven is at hand if you love me keep my commandments and i will pray to the father and he will give you another helper that he may abide with you forever the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him but you know him for he dwells with you and will be in you be perfect therefore as your heavenly father is perfect all who obey his commandments abide in him and he abides in them and by this we know that he abides in us by the spirit that he has given us [Music] he who has ears to hear let him hear little children you are goodness and lovingkindness of god our savior appeared he saved us not because of any works of righteousness that we had done but according to his mercy through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the holy spirit this spirit he poured out on us richly through jesus christ our savior make every effort to maintain the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace there is one body and one spirit just as you were called to the one hope of your calling one lord one faith one baptism one god and father of all who is above all and through all and in all for all who are led by the spirit of god are children of god the spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of god by this we know that we remain in him and he in us because he has given to us of his spirit when he the spirit of truth comes he will guide you into all the truth for he will not speak on his own authority but will speak whatever he hears and he will declare to you the things that are to come he will glorify me for he will take of what is mine and declare it to you the helper the holy spirit whom the father will send in my name he will teach you all things and remind you of all that i said to you when the helper comes whom i shall send to you from the father the spirit of truth who comes from the father he will testify about me but the hour is coming and even now is here when the true worshipers will worship the father in spirit and truth for the father seeks such as these to worship him god is spirit and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth and behold i am sending the promise of my father upon you for those who live according to the flesh set their mind on the things of the flesh but those who live according to the spirit set their minds on the things of the spirit [Music] the fruit of the spirit is love joy peace long-suffering kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness self-control against such there is no law and those who are christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires if we live in the spirit let us also be guided by the spirit and it shall come to pass in the last days declares god that i shall pour out my spirit on all flesh for he whom god sent speaks the words of god for he does not give the spirit sparingly love the lord your god with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind this is the first and greatest commandment and the second is like it love your neighbor as yourself all the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments you shall worship the lord your god and him only shall you serve worship in the spirit of god and rejoice in christ jesus and have no confidence in the flesh man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of god whoever does the will of god is my brother and my sister and mother a new commandment i give to you that you love one another as i have loved you that you also love one another therefore if there is any encouragement in christ if any consolation of love if any fellowship of the spirit if any affection and compassion make my joy complete by being of the same mind maintaining the same love united in spirit intent on one purpose but we must always give thanks to god for you brethren beloved by the lord because god chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the spirit and through belief in the truth for this purpose he called you through our proclamation of the good news so that you may obtain the glory of our lord jesus christ for the kingdom of god is not in words but in power seek the kingdom of god seek first the kingdom of god and his righteousness and all these things shall be added to you seek the kingdom of god and all these things shall be added to you then you will seek me and you will find me when you seek me with all of your heart ask and it shall be given you seek and you shall find knock and it shall be opened unto you behold the kingdom of god is within you fear not little flock for it is your father's pleasure to give you the kingdom so i say to you ask and it will be given to you seek and you will find knock and it will be opened unto you but you beloved build yourselves up on your most holy faith praying in the holy spirit i pray that the god of our lord jesus christ the father of glory may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him when you pray go into your room and close the door and pray to your father who is unseen whatever you ask the father in my name he will give you until now you have asked nothing in my name ask and you will receive that your joy may be full you may ask me for anything in my name and i will do it i will do whatever you ask in my name so that the father may be glorified in the sun therefore i tell you whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it and it will be yours whatever you ask for in prayer with faith you will receive but even now i know that whatever you ask of god god will give you do not be afraid only believe if you can believe all things are possible to him who believes when you are in trouble call out to me i will answer and be there ask and it will be given to you seek and you will find knock and it will be opened to you do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moths and vermin destroy and where thieves break in and steal but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven where moths and vermin do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal for where your treasure is there your heart will be also do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink nor have an anxious mind for all these things the nations of the world seek after and your father knows that you need these things therefore i say to you do not worry about your life what you will eat nor about your body what you will put on life is more than food and the body is more than clothing consider the ravens for they neither sow nor reap which have neither storehouse nor barn and god feeds them of how much more value are you than the birds [Music] do not fear therefore you are of more value than many sparrows consider the lilies how they grow they neither toil nor spin and yet i say to you even solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these if then god so closed the grass which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven how much more will he clothe you oh you of little faith do not worry saying what shall we eat or what shall we drink or what shall we wear for the pagans run after all these things and your heavenly father knows that you need them look at the birds of the air for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns yet your heavenly father feeds them consider the lilies of the field how they grow they neither toil nor spin do not worry about your life what you will eat or what you will drink nor about your body what you will put on is not life more than food and the body more than clothing do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself each day has enough trouble of its own do not labor for the food which perishes but for the food which endures to everlasting life which the son of man will give you because god the father has set his seal on him for the kingdom of god is not eating and drinking but righteousness and peace and joy in the holy spirit for the one who serves christ in this way is acceptable to god and has human approval seek first the kingdom of god and his righteousness and all these things shall be added to you blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven if you want to be perfect go sell your possessions and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven then come follow me give therefore to caesar the things which are caesar's and give unto god those things which are gods have faith in god blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth love your enemies do good to those who hate you bless those who curse you and pray for those who spitefully use you if someone slaps you on one cheek turn to them the other also if someone takes your coat do not withhold your shirt from them give to everyone who asks you and if anyone takes what belongs to you do not demand it back do to others as you would have them do to you love your enemies do good and lend hoping for nothing in return but now as for what is inside you be generous to the poor and everything will be clean for you blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy be merciful just as your father also is merciful judge not and you shall not be judged condemn not and you shall not be condemned forgive and you will be forgiven [Music] give and it will be given to you good measure pressed down shaken together and running over will be put into your bosom for with the same measure that you use it will be measured back to you take heed and beware of covetousness for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses seek the kingdom of god and all these things shall be added to you fear not little flock for it is your father's pleasure to give you the kingdom my food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work do you not say there are still four months and then comes the harvest behold i say to you lift up your eyes and look at the fields for they are already white for harvest give then unto caesar the things which are caesar's and to god those which are gods give to caesar the things that are caesar's and to god those that are gods [Music] if anyone thirsts let him come to me and drink he who believes in me as the scripture has said out of his heart will flow rivers of living water when you give a luncheon or dinner do not invite your friends your brothers or sisters your relatives or your rich neighbors if you do they may invite you back and so you will be repaid but when you give a banquet invite the poor the crippled the lame the blind and you will be blessed when you give to the needy do not announce it with trumpets as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets to be honoured by others truly i tell you they have received their reward in full but when you give to the needy do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing so that your giving may be in secret be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them give to the one who asks you and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you when you fast do not be like the hypocrites with a sad countenance for they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting assuredly i say to you they have their reward but you when you fast anoint your head and wash your face so that you do not appear to men to be fasting but to your father who is in the secret place be wise as serpents and harmless as doves take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones for i say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my father who is in heaven if you want to be perfect go sell your possessions and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven then come follow me if your brother sins against you rebuke him and if he repents forgive him and if he sins against you seven times in a day and seven times in a day returns to you saying i repent you shall forgive him but he said to me my grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness therefore i will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that christ's power may rest on me that is why for christ's sake i delight in weaknesses in insults in hardships in persecutions in difficulties for when i am weak then i am strong enter by the narrow gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and there are many who go in by it because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life and there are few who find it if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you leave your gift there in front of the altar first go and be reconciled to them then come and offer your from one degree of glory to another for this comes from the lord the spirit for through him we both have access by one spirit to the father now therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of god john bore witness saying i saw the spirit descending from heaven like a dove and he remained upon him i did not recognize him but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me upon whom you see the spirit descending and remaining on him this is he who baptizes with the holy spirit and i have seen and testified that this is the son of god and jesus went about all galilee teaching in their synagogues preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people then his fame went throughout all syria and they brought to him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments and those who were demon-possessed epileptics and paralytics and he healed them peace is there your peace will rest on it if not it will return to you and remain in the same house eating and drinking such things as they give for the laborer is worthy of his wages do not go from house to house whatever city you enter and they receive you eat such things as are set before you and heal the sick there and say to them the kingdom of god has come near to you but whatever city you enter and they do not receive you go out into its streets and say the very dust of your city which clings to us we wipe off against you nevertheless know this that the kingdom of god has come near to you at that time jesus full of joy through the holy spirit said i praise you father lord of heaven and earth because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and have revealed them to little children yes father for this is what you were pleased to do why do you call me good no one is good but one that is god listen to me everyone and understand this nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them rather it is what comes out of a person that defiles them if anyone has ears to hear let him hear as long as i am in the world i am the light of the world jesus answered most assuredly i say to you unless one is born of water and the spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of god that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit do not marvel that i said to you you must be born again the wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes so it is with everyone who is born of the spirit when you pray say our father in heaven hallowed be your name your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us day by day our daily bread and forgive us our sins for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us and do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness but now as for what is inside you be generous to the poor and everything will be clean for you for the heart of this people has become dull with their ears they scarcely hear and they have closed their eyes otherwise they might see with their eyes here with their ears understand with their heart and return and i would heal them do not be afraid only believe the spirit of the lord is upon me because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted to proclaim release to captives and recovery of sight to the blind to set at liberty those who are oppressed to proclaim the year of the lord's favor for he whom god sent speaks the words of god for he does not give the spirit sparingly how much more will your father in heaven give the holy spirit to those who ask him be perfect therefore as your heavenly father is perfect amend your lives for the kingdom of heaven is at hand let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven [Music] but i say to you do not swear an oath at all neither by heaven for it is god's throne nor by the earth for it is his footstool nor by jerusalem for it is the city of the great king nor shall you swear by your head because you cannot make one hair white or black but let your yes be yes and you'll know no for whatever is more than these is from the evil one blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake rejoice and be exceedingly glad for great is your reward in heaven for so they persecuted the prophets who were or town and shake the dust off your feet be wise as serpents and harmless as doves when they deliver you up do not worry about how or what you should speak for it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak for it is not you who speak but the spirit of your father who speaks in you do not fear them for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed and hidden that will not be in secret do not resist an evil person if anyone slaps you on the right cheek turn to them the other cheek also and if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt hand over your coat as well if anyone forces you to go one mile go with them two miles give to the one who asks you and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you love your enemies bless them that curse you do good to them that hate you and pray for them which hurt you and persecute you that ye may be the children of your father that is in heaven [Music] if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you leave your gift there in front of the altar first go and be reconciled to them then come and offer your gift for the kingdom of god is not eating and drinking but righteousness and peace and joy in the holy spirit for the one who serves christ in this way is acceptable to god and has human approval therefore if there is any encouragement in christ if any consolation of love if any fellowship of the spirit if any affection and compassion make my joy complete by being of the same mind maintaining the same love united in spirit intent on one purpose the fruit of the spirit is love joy peace long-suffering kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness self-control against such there is no law and those who are christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires if we live in the spirit let us also be guided by the spirit i pray that the god of our lord jesus christ the father of glory may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him now hope does not disappoint because the love of god has been poured out into our hearts by the holy spirit who was given to us worship in the spirit of god and rejoice in christ jesus and have no confidence in the flesh [Music] for the kingdom of god is not in words but in power not that we are competent of ourselves to claim anything as coming from us our competence is from god who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant not of the letter but of the spirit for the letter kills but the spirit gives life god is spirit and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth for all who are led by the spirit of god are children of god the spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of god all who obey his commandments abide in him and he abides in them and by this we know that he abides in us by the spirit that he has given us if you love me keep my commandments and i will pray to the father and he will give you another helper that he may abide with you forever the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him but you know him for he dwells with you and will be in you when the helper comes whom i shall send to you from the father the spirit of truth who comes from the father he will testify about me but the helper the holy spirit whom the father will send in my name he will teach you all things and remind you of all that i said to you and jesus came and spoke to them saying all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth go therefore and glory was not arrayed like one of these if then god so closed the grass which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven how much more will he clothe you oh you of little faith do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink nor have an anxious mind for all these things the nations of the world seek after and your father knows that you need these things seek the kingdom of god and all these things shall be added to you fear not little flock for it is your father's pleasure to give you the kingdom but you beloved build yourselves up on your most holy faith praying in the holy spirit therefore i tell you whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it and it will be yours when you pray go into your room and close the door and pray to your father who is unseen when you pray do not be like the hypocrites for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others when you pray use no vain repetitions as the heathen for they think to be heard for their much babbling do not be like them for your father knows the things you have need of before you ask him in this manner therefore pray our father in heaven hallowed be your name your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors and do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever amen when you stand praying if you hold anything against anyone forgive them so that your father in heaven may hands for god has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind and suddenly a woman who had a flow of blood for 12 years came from behind and touched the hem of his garment for she said to herself if only i may touch his garment i shall be made well but jesus turned around and when he saw her he said be of good cheer daughter your faith has made you well and the woman was made well from that hour as jesus went on from there two men who were blind followed him crying out have mercy on us son of david and after he entered the house the men who were blind came up to him and jesus said to them do you believe that i am able to do this they said to him yes lord then he touched their eyes saying it shall be done for you according to your faith and their eyes were opened be of good cheer daughter your faith has made you well according to your faith let it be to you daughter be of good cheer your faith has made you well go in peace don't be afraid just believe and she will be healed arise go your way your faith has made you well receive your sight your faith has healed you make every effort to maintain the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace of thieves then the blind and the lame came to him in the temple and he healed them and a man with leprosy came to him imploring him and kneeling down and saying to him if you are willing you can make me clean moved with compassion jesus reached out his hand and touched him and said to him i am willing be cleansed and immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed [Music] as the sun was setting all those who had any who were sick with various kinds of diseases brought them to him and he laid his hands on each of them and cured them now when he concluded all his sayings in the hearing of the people he entered capernaum and a certain centurion servant who was dear to him was sick and ready to die so when he heard about jesus he sent elders of the jews to him pleading with him to come and heal his servant and when they came to jesus they begged him earnestly saying that the one for whom he should do this was deserving for he loves our nation and has built us a synagogue then jesus went with them and when he was already not far from the house the centurion sent friends to him saying to him lord do not trouble yourself for i am not worthy that you should enter under my roof therefore i did not even think myself worthy to come to you but say the word and my servant will be healed for i am also a man placed under authority having soldiers under me and i say to one go and he goes and to another come and he comes and to my servant do this and he does it when jesus heard these things he marveled at him and turned around and said to the crowd that followed him i say to you i have not found such great faith not even in israel and those who were sent returning to the house found the servant well who had been sick all these signs will follow those who believe in my name they will cast out demons [Music] the blind sea and the lame walk the lepers are cleansed and the death here the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them amend your lives for the kingdom of heaven is at hand let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven be perfect therefore as your heavenly father is perfect create in me a clean heart oh god and renew a right spirit in me very truly i tell you whoever believes in me will do the works i have been doing and they will do even greater things than these because i am going to the father and i will do whatever you ask in my name so that the father may be glorified in the sun you may ask me for anything in my name and i will do it do not be afraid any longer only believe and she will be made well and he said to her daughter be of good cheer your faith has made you well go in peace john chapter 17 father the hour has come glorify your son that your son may glorify you for you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him now this is eternal life that they know you the only true god and teaching in their synagogues preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease among the people jesus answered and said to them go and tell john the things which you all joy and peace in believing so that you will be abound in hope by the power of the holy spirit and when jesus went out he saw a great multitude and he was moved with compassion for them and healed mary who anointed the lord with fragrant oil and wiped his feet with her hair whose brother lazarus was sick therefore the sisters sent to him saying lord behold he whom you love is sick when jesus heard that he said this sickness is not unto death but for the glory of god that the son of god may be glorified through it now jesus loved martha and her sister and lazarus so when he heard that he was sick he stayed two more days in the place where he was then after this he said to the disciples let us go to judea again the disciples said to him rabbi lately the jews sought to stone you and are you going there again jesus answered are there not 12 hours in a day if anyone walks in the day he does not stumble because he sees the light of this world but if one walks in the night he stumbles because the light is not in him these things he said and after that he said to them our friend lazarus sleeps but i go that i may wake him up then his disciples said lord if he sleeps he will get well however jesus spoke of his death but they thought that he was speaking about taking rest in sleep then jesus said to them plainly lazarus is dead and i am glad for your sakes that i was not there that you may believe nevertheless let us go to him then thomas who is called the twin said to his fellow disciples let us also go that we may die with him so when jesus came he found that he had already been in the tomb four days now bethany was near jerusalem about two miles away and many of the jews had joined the women around martha and mary to comfort them concerning their brother now martha as soon as she heard that jesus was coming went and met him but mary was sitting in the house now martha said to jesus lord if you had been there my brother would not have died but even now i know that whatever you ask of god god will give you then jesus said to her your brother will rise again martha said to him i know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day jesus said to her i am the resurrection and the life he who believes in me though he may die he shall live and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die do you believe this she said to him yes lord i believe that you are the christ the son of god who is to come into the world and when she had said these things she went her way and secretly called mary her sister saying the teacher has come and is calling for you as soon as she heard that she arose quickly and came to him now jesus had not yet come into the town but was in the place where martha had met him then the jews who were with her in the house and comforting her when they saw that mary rose up quickly and went out followed her saying she is going to the tomb to weep there then when mary came where jesus was and saw him she fell down at his feet saying to him lord if you had been here my brother would not have died therefore when jesus saw her weeping and the jews who came with her weeping he groaned in the spirit and was troubled and he said where have you laid him they said to him lord come and see jesus wept then the jew said see how he loved him and some of them said could not this man who opened the eyes of the blind also have kept this man from dying then jesus again groaning in himself came to the tomb it was a cave and a stone lay against it jesus said take away the stone martha the sister of him who was dead said to him lord by this time there is a stench for he has been dead four days jesus said to her did i not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of god then they took away the stone from that place where the dead man was lying and jesus lifted up his eyes and said father i thank you that you have heard me and i know that you always hear me but because of the people who are standing by i said this that they may believe that you sent me now when he had said these things he cried with a loud voice lazarus come forth and he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes and his face was wrapped with a cloth jesus said to them loose him and let him go father glorify your name then a voice came from heaven i have glorified it and i will glorify it again the crowd standing there heard it and said that it was thunder others said an angel has spoken to him jesus answered this voice has come for your sake not for mine now is the judgment of this world now the ruler of this world will be driven out when the men had come to him they said john the baptist has sent us to you saying are you the coming one or do we look for another and that very hour he cured many of infirmities afflictions and evil spirits and to many blind he gave sight he cancelled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross in this way he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities he shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross little children you are from god and have overcome them for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world take heart i have overcome the world so his fame spread throughout all syria and they brought to him all the sick those who were afflicted with various diseases and pains demoniacs epileptics and paralytics and he healed them and he went throughout all of galilee proclaiming in the synagogues and casting out demons he went up to the mountain and called to him those whom he wanted and they came to him and he appointed 12 whom he also named apostles to be with him and to be sent out to proclaim the message and to have authority to cast out demons jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to cast them out and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness evening came they brought to him many who were demon-possessed and he cast out the spirits with a word and he healed all who were sick peace i leave with you my peace i give to you i do not give to you as the world gives do not let your hearts be troubled and do not let them be afraid you heard me say to you i am going away and i am coming to you if you loved me you would rejoice that i am going to the father because the father is greater than i and now i have told you this before it occurs so that when it does occur you may believe i will no longer talk much with you for the ruler of this world is coming and he has no power over me but he said to me my grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness therefore i will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that christ's power may rest on me that is why for christ's sake i delight in weaknesses in insults in hardships in persecutions in difficulties for when i am weak then i am strong blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth [Music] blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake for theirs is the kingdom of heaven blessed are you when people insult you persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me rejoice and be glad because great is your reward in heaven for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you keep watch because you do not know on what day your lord will come beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly they are ravenous wolves you will know them by their fruits do not judge according to appearance but judge with righteous judgment be ready because the son of man will come at an hour when you do not expect him enter by the narrow gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and there are many who go in by it because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life and there are few who find it if anyone says to you look here is the christ or there do not believe it do not call anyone on earth father for you have one father and he is in heaven and do not be called teachers for one is your teacher the christ but you do not be called rabbi for one is your teacher the christ and you are all brethren if they say to you look he is in the desert do not go out to the father and i will do whatever you ask in my name so that the father may be glorified in the son you may ask me for anything in my name and i will do it by this we know that we remain in him and he in us because he has given to us of his spirit for our message of the gospel came to you not in word only but also in power and in the holy spirit and with full conviction and my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom but in demonstration of the spirit and of power that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of god if anyone serves me let him follow me and where i am there my servant will be also if anyone serves me him my father will honor when you give to the needy do not announce it with trumpets as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets to be honored by others truly i tell you they have received their reward in full but when you give to the needy do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing so that your giving may be in secret for no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me for whoever is not against us is for us truly i tell you anyone who live according to the spirit set their minds on the things of the spirit may the god of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that you will be abound in hope by the power of the holy forest prowl the lions roar for their prey and seek their food from god the sun rises and they steal away they return and lie down in their dens then people go out to their work to their labor until evening how many are your works lord in wisdom you made them all the earth is full of your creatures there is the sea vast and spacious teeming with creatures beyond number living things both large and small there the ships go to and fro and leviathan which you formed to frolic though all creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time when you give it to them they gather it up when you open your hand they are satisfied with good things when you hide your face they are terrified when you take away their breath they die and return to the dust when you send your spirit they are created and you renew the face of the ground may the glory of the lord endure forever may the lord rejoice in his works he who looks at the earth and it trembles who touches the mountains and they fruit of the spirit is love joy peace long-suffering kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness self-control against such there is no law and those who are christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires if we live in the spirit let us also be guided by the spirit i pray that the god of our lord jesus christ the father of glory may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him now hope does not disappoint because the love of god has been poured out into our hearts by the holy spirit who was given to us worship in the spirit of god and rejoice in christ jesus and have no confidence in the flesh the one who has an ear let him hear what the spirit says to the churches to the one who overcomes i will grant to eat from the tree of life which is in the paradise of god for those who live according to the flesh set their mind on the things of the flesh but those who live according to the spirit set their minds on the things of the spirit [Music] and my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom but in demonstration of the spirit and of power that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of god for the kingdom of god is not in words but in power but you beloved build yourselves up on your most holy faith praying in the holy spirit therefore i remind you to stir up the gift of god which is in you through the laying on of hands for god has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind but if i cast out demons by the spirit of god surely the kingdom of god has come upon you but it is god who establishes us with you in christ and has anointed us by putting his seal on us and giving us his spirit in our hearts as a pledge you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness therefore god your god has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy i pray that according to the riches of his glory he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his spirit but you are not in the flesh but in spirit if indeed the spirit of god dwells in you by this we know that we remain in him and he in us because he has given to us of his spirit [Music] in him you also when you had heard the word of truth the gospel of our salvation and had believed in him were marked with the seal of the promised holy spirit this is the guarantee of our inheritance towards redemption as god's own people to the praise of his glory for our message of the gospel came to you not in word only but also in power and in the holy spirit and with full conviction just as you know what kind of persons we proved to be among you for your sake but you have an anointing from the holy one and you all know not that we are competent of ourselves to claim anything as coming from us our competence is from god who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant not of the letter but of the spirit for the letter kills but the spirit gives life and do not get drunk with wine in which there is debauchery but be filled with the spirit speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs singing and making melody with your hearts to the lord always giving thanks for all things in the name of our lord jesus christ to our god and father and you show that you are a letter of christ prepared by us written not with ink but with the spirit of the living god not on tablets of stone but on the tablets of the human heart such is the confidence that we have through christ toward god for he received honor and glory from god the father when that voice was conveyed to him by the majestic glory saying this is my son my beloved with whom i am well pleased we ourselves heard this voice come from heaven while we were with him on the holy mountain so we have the prophetic message more fully confirmed you will do well to be attentive to this as to a lamp shining in a dark place until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts first of all you must understand this that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation because no prophecy ever came by human will but men and women moved by the holy spirit spoke from god in order that in christ jesus the blessing of abraham might come to the gentiles so that we might receive the promise of the spirit through faith in former generations this mystery was not made known to humankind as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the spirit that is that the gentiles have become fellow heirs members of the same body and sharers in the promising christ jesus through the gospel make every effort to maintain the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace there is one body and one spirit just as you were called to the one hope of your calling one lord one faith one baptism one god and father of all who is above all and through all and in all now the lord is the spirit and where the spirit of the lord is there is freedom and all of us with unveiled faces seeing the glory of the lord as though reflected in a mirror are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another for this comes from the lord the spirit and jesus came and spoke to them saying all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth go therefore and make disciples of all the nations baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit and teaching them to observe all things that i have commanded you and behold i am with you always even to the end of the age you shall receive power when the holy spirit has come upon you and you shall be my witnesses both in jerusalem and in all judea and samaria and to the end of the earth when the goodness and lovingkindness of god our savior appeared he saved us not because of any works of righteousness that we had done but according to his mercy through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the holy spirit this spirit he poured out on us richly through jesus christ our savior jesus answered most assuredly i say to you unless one is born of water and the spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of god that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit do not marvel that i said to you you must be born again the wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes so it is with everyone who is born of the spirit and this is what some of you used to be but you were washed you were sanctified you were justified in the name of the lord jesus christ and by the spirit of our god for christ also suffered for sins once for all the righteous for the unrighteous in order to bring us to god he was put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit but we must always give thanks to god for you brethren beloved by the lord because god chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the spirit and through belief in the truth for this purpose he called you through our proclamation of the good news so that you may obtain the glory of our lord jesus christ when the day of pentecost had fully come they were all with one accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled the whole house where they were sitting then there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire and one sat upon each of them and they were all filled with the holy spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance therefore i make known to you that no one speaking by the spirit of god says jesus is accursed and no one can say jesus is lord except by the holy spirit by this you know the spirit of god every spirit that confesses that jesus christ has come in the flesh is from god and every spirit that does not confess jesus is not from god if you are insulted for the name of christ you are blessed because the spirit of glory which is the spirit of god rests upon you for all who are led by the spirit of god are children of god the spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of god but the hour is coming and even now is here when the true worshipers will worship the father in spirit and truth for the father seeks such as these to worship him god is spirit and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth because you are sons god has sent the spirit of his son into our hearts crying out abba father for through him we both have access by one spirit to the father now therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of god all who obey his commandments abide in him and he abides in them and by this we know that he abides in us by the spirit that he has given us if you love me keep my commandments and i will pray to the father and he will give you another helper that he may abide with you forever the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him but you know him for he dwells with you and will be in you as for you the anointing that you receive from him abides in you and so you do not need anyone to teach you but as his anointing teaches you about all things and is true and is not a lie and just as it has taught you abide in him when the helper comes whom i shall send to you from the father the spirit of truth who comes from the father he will testify about me but the helper the holy spirit whom the father will send in my name he will teach you all things and remind you of all that i said to you if the spirit of him who raised jesus from the dead dwells in you he who raised christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his spirit that dwells in you how can we escape if we neglect so great a salvation it was declared at first through the lord and it was attested to us by those who heard him while god added his testimony by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the holy spirit distributed according to his will when he the spirit of truth comes he will guide you into all the truth for he will not speak on his own authority but will speak whatever he hears and he will declare to you the things that are to come he will glorify me for he will take of what is mine and declare it to you and the holy spirit also testifies to us for after saying this is the covenant that i will make with them after those days declares the lord i will put my law in their hearts and i will write them on their minds he also adds i will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more so jesus said to them again peace be to you just as the father has sent me i also send you and when he had said this he breathed on them and said to them receive the holy spirit then peter said to them repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of jesus christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the holy spirit behold i am sending the promise of my father upon you [Music] how much more will your father in heaven give the holy spirit to those who ask him [Music] the grace of the lord jesus christ and the love of god and the communion of the holy spirit be with you all may the god of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that you will be abound in hope by the power of the holy spirit and jesus went about all galilee teaching in their synagogues preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people then his fame went throughout all syria and they brought to him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments and those who were demon-possessed epileptics and paralytics and he healed them and behold a leper came and worshipped him saying lord if you are willing you can make me clean then jesus put out his hand and touched him saying i am willing be cleansed immediately his leprosy was cleansed when evening had come they brought to him many who were demon-possessed and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick then behold they brought to him a paralytic lying on a bed when jesus saw their faith he said to the paralytic son be of good cheer your sins are forgiven you and at once some of the scribes said within themselves this man blasphemes but jesus knowing their thoughts said why do you think evil in your hearts for which is easier to say your sins are forgiven you or to say arise and walk but that you may know that the son of man has power on earth to forgive sins then he said to the paralytic arise take up your bed and go to your house and he arose and departed to his house now when the multitude saw it they marveled and glorified god who had given such power to men and suddenly a woman who had a flow of blood for 12 years came from behind and touched the hem of his garment for she said to herself if only i may touch his garment i shall be made well but jesus turned around and when he saw her he said be of good cheer daughter your faith has made you well and the woman was made well from that hour as jesus went on from there two men who were blind followed him crying out have mercy on us son of david and after he entered the house the men who were blind came up to him and jesus said to them do you believe that i am able to do this they said to him yes lord then he touched their eyes saying it shall be done for you according to your faith and their eyes were opened and jesus sternly warned them saying see that no one knows about this but they went out and spread the news about him throughout the land then jesus went about all the cities and villages teaching in their synagogues preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease among the people and when he had called his twelve disciples to him he gave them power over unclean spirits to cast them out and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease as you go preach saying the kingdom of heaven is at hand heal the sick cleanse the lepers raise the dead cast out demons freely you have received freely give jesus answered and said to them go and tell john the things which you hear and see the blind sea and the lame walk the lepers are cleansed and the death here the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them then one was brought to him who was demon-possessed blind and mute and he healed him so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw and the multitudes were amazed and said could this be the son of david for the heart of this people has become dull with their ears they scarcely hear and they have closed their eyes otherwise they might see with their eyes here with their ears understand with their heart and return and i would heal them and when jesus went out he saw a great multitude and he was moved with compassion for them and healed their sick [Music] after the people of that place recognized him they sent word throughout the region and brought all who were sick to him and begged him that they might touch even the fringe of his cloak and all who touched it were healed then great multitudes came to him having with them the lame blind mute maimed and many others and they laid them down at jesus feet and he healed them so the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking the maimed made whole the lame walking and the blind seeing and they glorified the god of israel as they were leaving jericho a large crowd followed him and two people who were blind sitting by the road hearing that jesus was passing by cried out lord have mercy on us son of david but the crowd sternly warned them to be quiet yet they cried out all the more lord son of david have mercy on us and jesus stopped and called to them and said what do you want me to do for you they said to him lord we want our eyes to be opened moved with compassion jesus touched their eyes and immediately they regained their sight and followed him and he said to them it is written my house shall be called a house of prayer but you have made it a den of thieves then the blind and the lame came to him in the temple and he healed them and immediately after they left the synagogue they entered the house of simon and andrew with james and john now simon's mother-in-law was lying sick with the fever and they immediately spoke to jesus about her and he came to her and raised her up taking her by the hand and the fever left her and she served them now when evening came after the sun had set they began bringing to him all who were ill and those who were demon-possessed and the whole city had gathered at the door and he healed many who were ill with various diseases and cast out many demons and a man with leprosy came to him imploring him and kneeling down and saying to him if you are willing you can make me clean moved with compassion jesus reached out his hand and touched him and said to him i am willing be cleansed and immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed then some people came bringing to him a paralyzed man carried by four of them and when they could not bring him to jesus because of the crowd they removed the roof above him and after having dug through it they let down the mat on which the paralytic lay when jesus saw their faith he said to the paralytic son your sins are forgiven now some of the scribes were sitting there questioning in their hearts why does this fellow speak in this way it is blasphemy and who can forgive sins but god alone at once jesus perceived in his spirit that they were discussing these questions among themselves and he said to them why do you raise such questions in your hearts which is easier to say to the paralytic your sins are forgiven or to say stand up and take your mat and walk but so that you may know that the son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins he said to the paralytic i say to you stand up take your mat and go to your home and he stood up and immediately took the mat and went out before all of them so that they were all amazed and glorified god saying we have never seen anything like this again he entered the synagogue and a man was there whose hand was withered and they were watching him closely to see if he would heal on the sabbath so that they might accuse him he said to the man with the withered hand get up and come forward and he said to them is it lawful to do good on the sabbath or to do harm to save a life or to kill but they kept silent after looking around at them with anger grieved at their hardness of heart he said to the man stretch out your hand and he stretched it out and his hand was restored and he went up on the mountain and called to him those he himself wanted and they came to him then he appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons and behold one of the rulers of the synagogue came jairus by name and when he saw him he fell at his feet and begged him earnestly saying my little daughter lies at the point of death come and lay your hands on her that she may be healed and she will live so jesus went with him and a great multitude followed him and thronged him while he was still speaking some came from the ruler of the synagogue's house who said your daughter is dead why troubled the teacher any further as soon as jesus heard the word that was spoken he said to the ruler of the synagogue do not be afraid only believe and he permitted no one to follow him except peter james and john the brother of james then he came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue and saw a commotion and those who wept and wailed loudly when he came in he said to them why make this commotion and weep the child is not dead but sleeping and they ridiculed him but when he had put them all outside he took the father and the mother of the child and those who were with him and entered where the child was lying then he took the child by the hand and said to her talithakumi which is translated little girl i say to you arise immediately the girl arose and walked for she was 12 years of age and they were overcome with great amazement but he commanded them strictly that no one should know it and said that something should be given her to eat now a certain woman had a flow of blood for 12 years and had suffered many things from many physicians she had spent all that she had and was no better but rather grew worse when she heard about jesus she came behind him in the crowd and touched his garment for she said if only i may touch his clothes i shall be made well immediately the phantom of her blood was dried up and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction and jesus immediately knowing in himself that power had gone out of him turned around in the crowd and said who touched my clothes but his disciples said to him you see the multitude thronging you and you say who touched me and he looked around to see her who had done this thing but the woman fearing and trembling knowing what had happened to her came and fell down before him and told him the whole truth and he said to her daughter your faith has made you well go in peace and be healed of your affliction when they had crossed over they came to land at ganesaret and moored the boat when they got out of the boat people at once recognized him and rushed about that whole region and began to bring the sick on mats to whatever they heard he was and wherever he went into villages or cities or farms they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch even the fringe of his cloak and all who touched it were healed again departing from the region of tyre and sidon he came through the midst of the region of decapolis to the sea of galilee then they brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech and they begged him to put his hand on him and he took him aside from the multitude and put his fingers in his ears and he spat and touched his tongue then looking up to heaven he sighed and said to him that is be opened immediately his ears were opened and the impediment of his tongue was loosed and he spoke plainly then he commanded them that they should tell no one but the more he commanded them the more widely they proclaimed it and they were astonished beyond measure saying he has done all things well he makes both the death to hear and the mute to speak now they came to jericho as he went out of jericho with his disciples and a great multitude blind bartimaeus the son of timaeus sat by the road begging and when he heard that it was jesus of nazareth he began to cry out and say jesus son of david have mercy on me then many warned him to be quiet but he cried out all the more son of david have mercy on me jesus stood still and commanded him to be called then they called the blind man saying to him be of good cheer rise he is calling you and throwing aside his garment he rose and came to jesus so jesus answered and said to him what do you want me to do for you the blind man said to him rabboni that i may receive my sight then jesus said to him go your way. your faith has made you well and immediately he received his sight and followed jesus on the road then he jesus got up and left the synagogue and entered simon's home now simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever and they asked him to help her and standing over her he rebuked the fever and it left her and she immediately got up and served them as the sun was setting all those who had any who were sick with various kinds of diseases brought them to him and he laid his hands on each of them and cured them and it happened that when he was in a certain city that behold a man who was full of leprosy saw jesus and he fell on his face and implored him saying lord if you are willing you can make me clean then he put out his hand and touched him saying i am willing be cleansed immediately the leprosy left him and he charged him to tell no one but go and show yourself to the priest and make an offering for your cleansing as a testimony to them just as moses commanded however the report went around concerning him all the more and great multitudes came together to hear and to be healed by him of their infirmities it happened on a certain day as he was teaching that there were pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by who had come out of every town of galilee judea and jerusalem and the power of the lord was present to heal them then behold men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed whom they sought to bring in and lay before him and when they could not find how they might bring him in because of the crowd they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before jesus when he saw their faith he said to him man your they were thinking and he said to the man with the withered hand get up and come forward and he got up and came forward and jesus said to them i ask you whether it is lawful to do good on the sabbath or to do harm to save a life or to destroy it and after looking around at the mall he said to him stretch out your hand and he did so and his hand was restored and he came down with them and stood on a level place with the crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all judea and jerusalem and from the seacoast of tyre and sidon who came to hear him and be healed of their diseases as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits and they were healed and the whole multitude sought to touch him for power went out from him and healed them all now when he concluded all his sayings in the hearing of the people he entered capernaum and a certain centurion servant who was dear to him was sick and ready to die so when he heard about jesus he sent elders of the jews to him pleading with him to come and heal his servant and when they came to jesus they begged him earnestly saying that the one for whom he should do this was deserving for he loves our nation and has built us a synagogue then jesus went with them and when he was already not far from the house the centurion sent friends to him saying to him lord do not trouble yourself for i am not worthy that you should enter under my roof therefore i did not even think myself worthy to come to you but say the word and my servant will be healed for i am also a man placed under authority having soldiers under me and i say to one go and he goes and to another come and he comes and to my servant do this and he does it when jesus heard these things he marveled at him and turned around and said to the crowd that followed him i say to you i have not found such great faith not even in israel and those who were sent returning to the house found the servant well who had been sick [Music] soon afterward jesus went to a city called nain and his disciples were going along with him accompanied by a large crowd now as he approached the gate of the city a dead man was being carried out the only son of his mother and she was a widow and a sizable crowd from the city was with her when the lord saw her he felt compassion for her and said to her do not go on weeping and he came up and touched the coffin and the bearers came to a halt and he said young man i say to you arise and the dead man sat up and began to speak and jesus gave him back to his mother and john calling two of his disciples to him sent them to jesus saying are you the coming one or do we look for another when the men had come to him they said john the baptist has sent us to you saying are you the coming one or do we look for another and that very hour he cured many of infirmities afflictions and evil spirits and to many blind he gave sight jesus answered and said to them go and tell john the things that you have seen and heard that the blind see the lame walk the lepers are cleansed the death here the dead are raised the poor have the gospel preached to them and blessed is he who is not offended because of me now a woman having a flow of blood for 12 years who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any came from behind and touched the border of his garment and immediately her flow of blood stopped and jesus said who touched me when all denied it peter and those with him said master the multitudes throng and press you and you say who touched me but jesus said somebody touched me for i perceived power going out from me now when the woman saw that she was not hidden she came trembling and falling down before him she declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched him and how she was healed immediately and he said to her daughter be of good cheer your faith has made you well go in peace and as jesus was returning the people welcomed him for they had all been waiting for him and a man named jairus came and he was an official of the synagogue and he fell at jesus feet and began urging him to come to his house for he had an only daughter about 12 years old and she was dying but as he went the crowds were pressing against him while he was still speaking someone came from the house of the synagogue official saying your daughter has died do not trouble the teacher anymore but when jesus heard this he responded to him do not be afraid any longer only believe and she will be made well he came to the house he did not allow anyone to enter with him except peter john and james and the girl's father and mother now they were all weeping and mourning for her but he said stop weeping for she has not died but is asleep and they began laughing at him knowing that she had died he however took her by the hand and spoke forcefully saying child arise and her spirit returned and she got up immediately and he ordered that something be given her to eat her parents were amazed but he instructed them to tell no one what had happened then he called his twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases he sent them to preach the kingdom of god and to heal the sick and he said to them take nothing for the journey neither staffs nor bag no bread no money and do not have two tunics apiece whatever house you enter stay there and from there depart and whoever will not receive you when you go out of that city shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them so they departed and went through the towns preaching the gospel and healing everywhere when the apostles returned they gave an account to him of all that they had done and taking them with him he withdrew privately to a city called bethsaida but the crowds were aware of this and followed him and he welcomed them and began speaking to them about the kingdom of god and curing those who had need of healing but whatever house you enter first say peace to this house and if a son of peace is there your peace will rest on it if not it will return to you and remain in the same house eating and drinking such things as they give you for the laborer is worthy of his wages do not go from house to house whatever city you enter and they receive you eat such things as are set before you and heal the sick there and say to them the kingdom of god has come near to you now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath and behold there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity 18 years and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up but when jesus saw her he called her to him and said to her woman you are loosed from your infirmity and he laid his hands on her and immediately she was made straight and glorified god but the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation because jesus had healed on the sabbath and he said to the crowd there are six days on which men ought to work therefore come and be healed on them and not on the sabbath day the lord then answered him and said hypocrite does not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it away to water it so ought not this woman being a daughter of abraham whom satan has banned think of it for 18 years be loosed from this bond on the sabbath and when he said these things all his adversaries were put to shame and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him now it happened as he went to jerusalem that he passed through the midst of samaria and galilee then as he entered a certain village there met him ten men who were lepers who stood afar off and they lifted up their voices and said jesus master have mercy on us so when he saw them he said to them go show yourselves to the priests and so it was that as they went they were cleansed and one of them when he saw that he was healed returned and with a loud voice glorified god and fell down on his face at his feet giving him thanks and he was a samaritan so jesus answered and said were there not ten cleansed but where are the nine were there not found any who returned to give glory to god except this foreigner and he said to him arise go your way your faith has made you well now as jesus was approaching jericho a man who was blind was sitting by the road begging but when he heard a crowd going by he began inquiring what this was they told him that jesus of nazareth was passing by and he called out saying jesus son of david have mercy on me those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet but he kept crying out all the more son of david have mercy on me and jesus stopped and commanded that he be brought to him and when he came near he asked him what do you want me to do for you and he said lord i want to regain my sight and jesus said to him regain your sight your faith has made you well and immediately he regained his sight and began following him glorifying god and when all the people saw it they gave praise to god so jesus again came to cana of galilee where he had made the water into wine and there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at capernaum and when he heard that jesus had come out of judea into galilee he went to him and implored him to come down to heal his son for he was at the point of death then jesus said to him unless you people see signs and wonders you will by no means believe the nobleman said to him sir come down before my child dies jesus said to him go your way your son lives so the man believed the word jesus spoke to him and he went his way and as he was now going down his servants met him and told him saying your son lives then he inquired of them the hour when he got better and they said to him yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him so the father knew that it was the same hour in which jesus said to him your son lives and he himself believed and his whole household now there is in jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool which is called in hebrew bethesda having five porches in these lay a great multitude of sick people blind lame paralyzed waiting for the moving of the water for an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water then whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was made well of whatever disease he had now a certain man was there who had an infirmity 38 years when jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been in that condition a long time he said to him do you want to be made well the sick man answered him sir i have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up but while i am coming another steps down before me jesus said to him rise take up your bed and walk and immediately the man was made well took up his bed and walked and that day was the sabbath after these things jesus went away to the other side of the sea of galilee or tiberius a large crowd was following him because they were watching the signs which he was performing on those who were sick now as jesus passed by he saw a man who was blind from birth and his disciples asked him saying rabbi who sinned this man or his parents that he was born blind jesus answered neither this man nor his parents sinned but that the works of god should be revealed in him i must work the works of him who sent me while it is day the night is coming when no one can work as long as i am in the world i am the light of the world when he had said these things he spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay and he said to him go wash in the pool of siloam which is translated sent so he went and washed and came back seeing therefore the neighbors and those who had previously seen that he was blind said is this not he who sat and begged some said this is he others said he is like him he said i am he therefore they said to him how were your eyes opened he answered and said a man called jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me go to the pool of siloam and wash so i went and washed and i received sight [Music] now a certain man was sick lazarus of bethany the town of mary and her sister martha it was that mary who anointed the lord with fragrant oil and wiped his feet with her hair whose brother lazarus was sick therefore the sisters sent to him saying lord behold he whom you love is sick when jesus heard that he said this sickness is not unto death but for the glory of god that the son of god may be glorified through it now jesus loved martha and her sister and lazarus so when he heard that he was sick he stayed two more days in the place where he was then after this he sets up the disciples let us go to judea again the disciples said to him rabbi lately the jews sought to stone you and are you going there again jesus answered are there not 12 hours in a day if anyone walks in the day he does not stumble because he sees the light of this world but if one walks in the night he stumbles because the light is not in him these things he said and after that he said to them our friend lazarus sleeps but i go that i may wake him up then his disciples said lord if he sleeps he will get well however jesus spoke of his death but they thought that he was speaking about taking rest in sleep then jesus said to them plainly lazarus is dead and i am glad for your sakes that i was not there that you may believe nevertheless let us go to him then thomas who is called the twin said to his fellow disciples let us also go that we may die with him so when jesus came he found that he had already been in the tomb four days now bethany was near jerusalem about two miles away and many of the jews had joined the women around martha and mary to comfort them concerning their brother now martha as soon as she heard that jesus was coming went and met him but mary was sitting in the house now martha said to jesus lord if you had been there my brother would not have died but even now i know that whatever you ask of god god will give you then jesus said to her your brother will rise again martha said to him i know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day jesus said to her i am the resurrection and the life he who believes in me though he may die he shall live and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die do you believe this she said to him yes lord i believe that you are the christ the son of god who is to come into the world and when she had said these things she went her way and secretly called mary her sister saying the teacher has come and is calling for you as soon as she heard that she arose quickly and came to him now jesus had not yet come into the town but was in the place where martha had met him then the jews who were with her in the house and comforting her when they saw that mary rose up quickly and went out followed her saying she is going to the tomb to weep there then when mary came where jesus was and saw him she fell down at his feet saying to him lord if you had been here my brother would not have died therefore when jesus saw her weeping and the jews who came with her weeping he groaned in the spirit and was troubled and he said where have you laid him they said to him lord come and see jesus wept then the jew said see how he loved him and some of them said could not this man who opened the eyes of the blind also have kept this man from dying then jesus again groaning in himself came to the tomb it was a cave and a stone lay against it jesus said take away the stone martha the sister of him who was dead said to him lord by this time there is a stench for he has been dead four days jesus said to her did i not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of god then they took away the stone from that place where the dead man was lying and jesus lifted up his eyes and said father i thank you that you have heard me and i know that you always hear me but because of the people who are standing by i said this that they may believe that you sent me now when he had said these things he cried with a loud voice lazarus come forth and he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes and his face was wrapped with a cloth jesus said to them loose him and let him go psalm 117 praise the lord all you nations extol him all you peoples for great is his love towards us and the faithfulness of the lord endures forever praise the lord amend your lives for the kingdom of heaven is at hand follow me and i will make you fishers of men [Music] blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake rejoice and be exceedingly glad for great is your reward in heaven for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you leave your gift there in front of the altar first go and be reconciled to them then come and offer your gift i say to you do not swear an oath at all neither by heaven for it is god's throne nor by the earth for it is his footstool nor by jerusalem for it is the city of the great king nor shall you swear by your head because you cannot make one hair white or black but let your yes be yes and you'll know no for whatever is more than these is from the evil one do not resist an evil person if anyone slaps you on the right cheek turn to them the other cheek also and if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt hand over your coat as well if anyone forces you to go one mile go with them two miles give to the one who asks you and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you love your enemies bless them that curse you do good to them that hate you and pray for them which hurt you and persecute you that ye may be the children of your father that is in heaven be perfect therefore as your heavenly father is perfect be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them when you give to the needy do not announce it with trumpets as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets to be honored by others truly i tell you they have received their reward in full but when you give to the needy do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing so that your giving may be in secret when you pray do not be like the hypocrites for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others when you pray go into your room and close the door and pray to your father who is unseen when you pray use no vain repetitions as the heathen for they think to be heard for their much babbling do not be like them for your father knows the things you have need of before you ask him in this manner therefore pray our father in heaven hallowed be your name your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors and do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever amen do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moths and vermin destroy and where thieves break in and steal but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven where moths and vermin do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal for where your treasure is there your heart will be also do not worry about your life what you will eat or what you will drink nor about your body what you will put on is not life more than food and the body more than clothing [Music] look at the birds of the air for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns yet your heavenly father feeds them consider the lilies of the field how they grow they neither toil nor spin consider the lilies of the field how they grow they neither toil nor spin do not worry saying what shall we eat or what shall we drink or what shall we wear for the pagans run after all these things and your heavenly father knows that you need them seek first the kingdom of god and his righteousness and all these things shall be added to you do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself each day has enough trouble of its own do not judge or you too will be judged for in the same way you judge others you will be judged and with the measure you use it will be measured to you first remove the plank from your own eye and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye ask and it shall be given you seek and you shall find knock and it shall be opened unto you ask and it shall lepers raise the dead cast out demons freely you have received freely give provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts nor bag for your journey nor two tunics no sandals nor staffs for a worker is worthy of his food whatever town or village you enter search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave as you enter the home give it your greeting if the home is deserving let your peace rest on it if it is not let your peace return to you if anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet be wise as serpents and harmless as doves do not fear them for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed and hidden that will not be known whatever i tell you in the dark speak in the light and what you hear in the ear preach on the rooftops don't be afraid you are worth more than many sparrows he who has ears to hear let him hear come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and i will give you rest take my yoke upon you and learn from me for i am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls either make the tree good and its fruit good or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad for a tree is known by its fruit he who has ears to hear let him hear listen and understand what goes into someone's mouth does not defile them but what comes out of their mouth that is what defiles them if anyone desires to come after me let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones for i say to you that in very end of the age the time is fulfilled and the kingdom of god is at hand repent and believe the gospel follow me and i will make you to be fishers of men if anyone has ears to hear let him hear heed what you hear with the same measure you use it will be measured to you and to you who here more will be given listen to me everyone and understand this nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them rather it is what comes out of a person that defiles them if anyone has ears to hear let him hear whoever desires to come after me let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me if you can believe all things are possible to him who believes for no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me for whoever is not against us is for us truly i tell you anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the messiah will certainly not lose their reward have salt in yourselves and have peace with one another what god has joined together let no one separate let the little children come to me and do not forbid them for of such is the kingdom of god assuredly i say to you whoever does not receive the kingdom of god you eat such things as are set before you and heal the sick there and say to them the kingdom of god has come near to you but whatever city you enter and they do not receive you go out into its streets and say the very dust of your city which clings to us we wipe off against you nevertheless know this that the kingdom of god has come near to you do not rejoice in this that the spirits are subject to you but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven when you pray say our father in heaven hallowed be your name your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven clothing consider the ravens for they neither sown or reap which have neither storehouse nor barn and god feeds them of how much more value are you than the birds consider the lilies how they grow they neither toil nor spin and yet i say to you even solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these if then god so closed the grass which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven how much more will he clothe you oh you of little faith do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink nor have an anxious mind for all these things the nations of the world seek after and your father knows that you need these things seek the kingdom of god and all these things shall be added to you fear not little flock for it is your father's pleasure to give you the kingdom sell your possessions and give to the poor provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out a treasure in heaven that will never fail where no thief comes near and no moth destroys for where your treasure is there your heart will be also be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him be ready because the son of man will come at an hour when you do not expect him when someone invites you to a wedding feast do not take the place of the least important place but when you are invited take the lowest place so that when your host comes he will say to you friend move up to a better place then you will be honored in the presence of all the other guests for all those who exalt themselves will be humbled and those who humble themselves will be exalted when you give a luncheon or dinner do not invite your friends your brothers or sisters your relatives or your rich neighbors if you do they may invite you back and so you will be repaid but when you give a banquet invite the poor the crippled the lame the blind and you will be blessed whoever has ears to hear let them hear use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves so that when it is gone you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings if your brother sins against you rebuke him and if he repents forgive him and if he sins against you seven times in a day and seven times in a day returns to you saying i repent you shall forgive him arise go your way your faith has made you well behold the kingdom of god is within you let the little children come to me and do not forbid them for of such is the kingdom of god assuredly i say to you whoever does not receive the me and where i am there my servant will be also if anyone serves me him my father will honor walk while you have the light before darkness overtakes you whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going believe in the light while you have the light so that you may become children of light if i then your lord and teacher have washed your feet you also ought to wash one another's feet for i have given you an example that you should do as i have done to you a new commandment i give to you that you love one another as i have loved you that you also love one another let not your heart be troubled you believe in god believe also in me believe me when i say that i am in the father and the father is in me or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves if you love me keep my commandments peace i leave with you my peace i give to you not as the world gives do i give to you let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid remain in me as i also remain in you as the father loved me i also have loved you abide in my love this is my commandment that you love one another as i have loved you these things i command you that you love one another when the advocate comes whom i will send to you from the father the spirit of truth who goes out from the father he will testify about me and you also must testify for you have been with me from the beginning until now you have asked nothing in my name ask and you will receive that your joy may be full these things i have spoken to you that in me you may have peace in the world you will have tribulation but be of came out of him and did not hurt him then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves saying what a word this is for with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits and they come out and authority over all demons and to cure diseases now john answered and said master we saw someone casting out demons in your name and we forbade him because he does not follow with us but jesus said to him do not forbid him for he who is not against us is on our side and behold there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity 18 years and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up but when jesus saw her he called her to him and said to her woman you are loosed from your infirmity and he laid his hands on her and immediately she was made straight and glorified god father glorify your name then a voice came from heaven i have glorified it and i will glorify it again the crowd standing there heard it and said that it was thunder others said an angel has spoken to him jesus answered this voice has come for your sake not for mine now is the judgment of this world now the ruler of this world will be driven out peace i leave with you my peace i give to you i do not give to you as coming and he has no power over me nevertheless i tell you the truth it is to your advantage that i go away for if i do not go away the helper will not come to you but if i depart i will send him to you and when he has come he will convict the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment of sin because they do not believe in me of righteousness because i go to my father and you see me no more of judgment because the ruler of this world is condemned and now i am no longer in the world but they are in the world and i am coming to you holy father protect them in your name that you have given me so that they may be one as we are one while i was with them i protected them in your name that you have given me i guarded them and not one of them was lost except the one destined to be lost so that the scripture might be fulfilled but now i am coming to you and i speak these things in the world so that they may have my joy made complete in themselves i have given them your word and the world has hated them because they do not belong to the world just as i do not belong to the world i am not asking you to take them out of the world but i ask you to protect them from the evil one john chapter 17 father the hour has come glorify your son that your son may glorify you for you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him now this is eternal life that they know you the only true god and jesus christ whom you have sent i have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do and now father glorify me in your presence with the glory i had with you before the world began i have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world they were yours you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word now they know that everything you have given me comes from you for i gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them they knew with certainty that i came from you and they believed that you sent me i pray for them i am not praying for the world but for those you have given me for they are yours all i have is yours and all you have is mine and glory has come to me through them i will remain in things while i am still in the world so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them i have given them your word and the world has hated them for they are not of the world any more than i am of the world my prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one they are not of the world even as i am not of it sanctify them by the truth your word is truth as you sent me into the world i have sent them into the world for them i sanctify myself that they too may be fully sanctified my prayer is not for them alone i pray also for those who will believe in me through their message that all of them may be one father just as you are in me and i am in you may they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me i have given them the glory that you gave me that they may be one as we are one i in them and you in me so that they may be brought to complete unity then the world will know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me father i want those you have given me to be with me where i am and to see my glory the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world righteous father though the world does not know you i know you and they know that you have sent me i have made you known to them and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that i myself may be in them love the lord your god with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind this is the first and greatest commandment go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit and teaching them to obey everything i have commanded you go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature the gospel must first be preached to all the nations do not be afraid but speak and do not keep silent for i am with you have faith in god let not your heart be troubled you children of god therefore if there is any encouragement in christ if any consolation of love if any fellowship of the spirit if any affection and compassion make my joy complete by being of the same mind maintaining the same love united in spirit intent on one purpose not that we are competent of ourselves to claim anything as coming from us our competence is from god who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant not of the letter but of the spirit for the letter kills but the spirit gives life but you are not in the flesh but in spirit if indeed the spirit of god dwells in you i pray that the god of our lord jesus christ the father of glory may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him worship in the spirit of god and rejoice in christ jesus and have no confidence in the flesh when he the spirit of truth comes he will guide you into all the truth for he will not speak on his own authority but will speak whatever he hears and he will declare to you the things that are to come he will glorify me for he will take of what is mine and declare it to you now hope does not disappoint because the love of god has been poured out into our hearts by the holy spirit who was given to us when the helper comes whom i shall send to you from the father the spirit of truth who comes from the father he will testify about me if you love me keep my commandments and i will pray to the father and he will give you another helper that he may abide with you forever the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him but you know him for he dwells with you and will be in you the holy spirit whom the father will send in my name he will teach you all things and remind you of all that i said to you and kingdom behold the kingdom of god is within you enter by the narrow gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and there are many who go in by it because narrow is the forgiven have salt in yourselves and have peace with one another give to the one who asks you and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you in everything do to others what you would have them do to you be merciful just as your father also is merciful these things i command you that you love one another all who obey his commandments abide in him and he abides in them and by this we know that he abides in us by the spirit that he has given us now the lord is the spirit and where the spirit of the lord is there is freedom and all of us with unveiled faces seeing the glory of the lord as though reflected in a mirror are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another for this comes from the lord the spirit for through him we both have access by demon-possessed epileptics and paralytics and he healed them then he called his twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases he sent them to preach the kingdom of god and to heal the sick and he said to them take nothing for the journey neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money and do not have two tunics apiece whatever house you enter stay there and from there depart and whoever will not receive you when you go out of that city shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them so they departed and went through the towns preaching the gospel and healing everywhere when the apostles returned they gave an account to him of all that they had done and taking them with him he withdrew privately to a city called bethsaida but the crowds were aware of this and followed him and he welcomed them and began speaking to them about the kingdom of god and curing those who had need of healing so his fame spread throughout all syria and they brought to him all the sick those who were afflicted with various diseases and pains demoniacs epileptics and paralytics and he healed them then behold they brought to him a paralytic lying on a bed when jesus saw their faith he said to the paralytic son be of good cheer your sins are forgiven you [Music] he cancelled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross in this way he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities he shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross how can we escape if we neglect so great a salvation it was declared at first through the lord and it was attested to us by those who heard him while god added his testimony by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the holy spirit distributed according to his will the blind sea and the lame walk the lepers are cleansed and the death here the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them all these signs will follow those who believe in my name they will cast out demons have faith in god let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven he who has ears to hear let him hear do not be afraid only believe whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it and it will be yours ask and it shall be given you seek and ye shall find knock and it shall be to their labor until evening how many are your works lord in wisdom you made them all the earth is full of your creatures there is the sea vast and spacious teeming with creatures beyond number living things both large and small there the ships go to and fro and leviathan which you formed to frolic though all creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time when you give it to them they gather it up when you open your hand they are satisfied with good things when you hide your face they are terrified when you take away their breath they die and return to the dust when you send your spirit they are created and you renew the face of the ground may the glory of the lord endure forever may the lord rejoice in his works he who looks at the earth and it trembles who touches the who made us and we are his we are his people the sheep of his pasture enter his gate with thanksgiving and his courts with praise give thanks to him and praise his name for the lord is good and his
