My Parents Hid A Dark Secret About Me For 14 Years | This is my story

hello everyone my name is winter and for most of my life my parents kept this dark secret about me that no one knew I'll admit I wasn't the most normal kid it really seemed like I had two different personalities sometimes I'd be quiet and calm and I'd be great at focusing and completing tasks I'd sit around the purchase enjoying the birds chirping but sometimes I'd wake up and feel so much anger and energy I want to run around and do the craziest things one time when I was 10 I nearly set my whole house on fire just playing with fireworks my parents kind of got used to it sometimes we joke around about it I'd wake up and they'd say something like who are you today our daughter or the demon but when I was 14 I started learning that my parents had a dark secret it all started one night I woke up in the middle of the night and decided to get a glass of water and I walked out of my room and heard my parents talking in their bedroom I don't know why but I decided to listen I heard my mom asking do you think about summer too it was the first time I'd heard this name but I felt like this person must have been someone important then my father said I know you blame yourself and you shouldn't and my mom started crying my father added we can visit her grave tomorrow her grave I heard my father coming near the door so I panicked and I went back to my room but I couldn't fall asleep for most of the night who was summer why would her death have been my mother's fault but the strangest thing is that night when I eventually fell asleep I had the strangest dream I was still 5 years old I was playing with a box of matches and I set the house on fire I heard my parents screams and someone else's some woman or a girl I woke up drowning in my own sweat was it only a dream I know that sometimes I had a temper that I couldn't control but could I have done something horrible that I didn't remember this thought kept bugging me that morning my parents went to the supermarket or so they told me I knew they were going to her grave and I decided to search for the truth I went to our basement where they kept most of the memorabilia and things from my childhood I had no idea what I should be looking for but there had to be some clues about this summer I went through most of the boxes but I couldn't find anything there were some old documents my toys and letters to Santa all that stuff but then I found this little box it had a label I read it and my heart stopped on the label was written baby sisters but I had no sisters and no brothers I opened it and saw two pairs of identical socks and two pacifiers one was pretty worn out it was mine the other seemed new unused did I have a sister what did my parents do to her I came out of the basement shocked and confused for a couple of weeks I watched my parents closely I didn't want to ask them directly I was scared I didn't know if I really wanted to find out the truth but one evening I couldn't be silent anymore my mom was cooking listening to some weird music and humming maybe it was paranoia but she seemed like she was in some kind of a trance and she was chopping onions very aggressively my father came up to her took the knife from her very gently and said you know you shouldn't handle these big knives right remember she laughed almost hysterically I don't know it all seemed just a little bit off my heart was pounding I thought to myself at this time could I have been living with psychos who would get rid of their daughters I worked up the courage walked up to them and I shouted what the hell happened to summer how could you do it my parents seemed caught my mom's hands started shaking she sat down slowly my father took a step towards me but I backed away I didn't know what he was gonna do what they were capable of and then they told me this night was really a life-changing one we didn't do it my father said and I felt the ground slipping out from under me you did I nearly passed out we all sat down my mom hugged me and told me the full story it turns out I was the killer you kind of ate her my mom said I felt so disgusted with myself I never thought I could really do something so horrific until they finally revealed the most important information you swallowed her when you were still in my womb I was shocked it was definitely not what I expected I mean I was in a monster none of us were but it was still a lot to handle they said it happens pretty often with twins it's just that my parents were really excited about having twins and they had bought all this stuff in twos so after they lost one of them they really felt like mourning and even though it wasn't mom's fault she always felt like she had something to do with it that night we went to the basement together they showed me all the little toys that they had bought for the two of us and the next day we went to her grave only now I knew that it was empty it was just a tombstone to remember a daughter that they never had honestly it still feels out of this world but at least I know the truth not only where my parents actually really good and caring but I really have two different souls inside of me like I'm sharing my body with my sister I just wish I had talked to them sooner or they would have told me sooner you know secrets don't belong in a family and now that we have no secrets between us our bond
