hi my name is becca but none of the boys in my town know that because my parents are so strict they won't let me talk to any men until i graduate the one exception is james because our parents have been friends forever well at least they were until that engagement party that was the day that billy eilish herself stopped in the middle of her private concert just to expose a secret that would ruin i grew up as best friends but my younger sister had a huge crush on him since forever naturally because james and i were so close my sister was super jealous one day i was talking to james and willow plopped down beside me squeezing a bottle of juice all over my shirt it was obvious it wasn't an accident but she tried to play it off like it was even though i knew exactly why she did it suddenly jason james's older brother came over he took a wet cloth and started helping me clean my shirt but james also jumped up and tried to help me clean it he kept looking at jason like he was a villain or something a few days later i was super stressed about school and willow do you know what it's like to have a sibling that makes you want to tear your hair out that's when james texted me with the offer of a lifetime he and his brother were going to sneak into a big hollywood party they knew the location because their dad ran a big record label i was excited to go but when i asked my parents they said no however james wasn't taking no for an answer he snuck outside my window and propped up a ladder helping me climb out oh it seriously felt like we were busting out of prison or something especially when my dad shined a flashlight outside to see what the noise was the minute i stepped in the party it felt like i was in heaven james slipped his hand in mine and asked me what i wanted to drink i was so distracted by the feeling of holding hands with him that i couldn't get any words out he left to go get the drinks and that's when i spotted sean mendes i wanted to squeal like an anime girl i was fangirling so hard that i thought my heart was going to pop out of my chest when james saw who i was fangirling over he rolled his eyes he looked annoyed but then he leaned in close and dared me to go get shawn's number i didn't think he was being for real so i told him i would if he got the number of the most popular female celebrity and you know what that crazy boy did he agreed took a shot and then disappeared into the crowd now i had no choice but to talk to sean i took as many shots my stomach could handle because i had a crowd of drooling girls i was going to have to get the confidence to push past if i was going to talk to him and after the shots your girl was feeling mighty confident i felt like rupaul on a stage i owned that room and shawn is gonna be mine but as i approached him a woman in silver high heels stuck her leg out tripping me i fell in the pool in front of shawn mendes even worse i was wearing a sheer white dress and worse than that i couldn't swim i started flailing like a magikarp and screaming for help i felt how the water entered my body and then two strong arms wrapped around me i was coming in and out of consciousness but i could see that it was jason who picked me up out of the water he laid me out in front of the group and gave me mouth-to-mouth when i could finally breathe i opened my eyes to see jane standing off to the side looking like someone had ripped his heart out jason wrapped me in a blanket he asked what i was thinking drinking this much and i told him about the dare jason scoffed and said james is a bad influence he takes nothing seriously you really should stop talking to him if you want to make something of your life the word stung i tried to tell him he was wrong but he cut me off and said i can help you if you want the words were smooth but the kiss he gave me after was even smoother when we pulled apart i saw james run off i pushed jason away and he tried to kiss me again when i finally got away james was long gone the next day i felt like regina george after she got hit by the bus as if i wasn't miserable enough willow stormed into my room and snarled i know everything about the party at first i thought well that's great because i don't remember any of it then the panic set in willow lifted up her skirt showing off the silver shoes she was wearing i realized she was the one who tripped me into the pool i won't tell mom and dad if you promised to stop talking to james she said mom and dad would send me to boarding school if they found out they'd never let me have freedom again reluctantly i had to agree when james arrived to pick us up for school willow ran ahead and grabbed james's arm james looked at me waiting for me to say something but i just walked past them over the next few weeks i struggled to ignore james even if i couldn't talk to him i wanted to be near him so i kinda turned into a stalker i joined every club he was in and went to every activity i noticed he started signing up for crazy things like ceramics and crochet and i realized he was on to me one day when i got up to go the bathroom james followed me he angrily asked me why i was ignoring him i had no idea what to say my dumb brain puked out the first thing it thought which was mercury is in retrograde yeah i know cringe james had tears in his eyes as he said if you're going to stay away from me it's better if you do it for real it was in that moment that i realized i lost my best friend school without james was like torture but it got worse when i started hearing that he was dating someone famous i thought back to the dare at the party and i knew i had to figure out who it was no matter what i followed james one day to a fancy restaurant without a reservation i couldn't get in so i snuck in the back and snagged an apron pretending to be a waitress i know it's crazy but i couldn't help myself i had to see it with my own eyes have you ever felt this way with someone one of the cooks slammed a tray in my hands and yelled at me to take it to the vip table where i found james sitting with a girl i tried to hide my face but that all went out the window when i got closer and realized the girl was billy eilish the billy eilish suddenly i slipped splashing food all over myself i ran home with tears in my eyes when i walked into school the next day people were whispering about me and taunting me i didn't understand why until i opened my locker and saw hundreds of photos of me covered in food with james and billy eilish staring directly at me everyone in the hall laughed willow asked if my shoes still smelled like butter i realized that she must have made my shoes slippery knowing where i was going as the laughter got worse james ran up to us he was about to open his mouth but willow cast him a threatening look so he just lowered his head and walked away that's when my life turned into pure hell i was so distraught over what had happened that my grades fell my parents forced me to get a job because they thought it would be good punishment for not studying i ended up working at duncan willow made sure to let everyone know she constantly brought the popular kids in to laugh at me she dropped drinks forcing me to clean them up but at home she was even worse she treated me like a personal slave threatening to tell her parents about the party if i didn't do everything she said i was so stressed that my hair started to fall out one day at the bus stop a fancy car whipped up beside me it was jason and he looked a little crazy after he kissed me against my will i didn't want to be associated with him but he told me he had information about james i got in the car only to have the door lock behind me jason told me to stop trying to run he liked me and he wanted to be with me i tried to open the door but jason just laughed he told me if i didn't give in and be with him he'd get me sent to boarding school but i didn't care anymore i told him to tell my parents it couldn't be worse than the life i was living now i managed to unlock the door and raced out jason yelled after me you don't know how bad your life's about to get soon i was going to be sent away so now i could talk to james i told him everything is tear stream down my face james wrapped his arms around me telling me he missed me he also told me he never even dated bailey eilish they were just friends for the first time in ages i felt hope but then james's face clouded there's something you need to know though before he got a chance willow ran over and put her hand on her chest her hand that had a giant diamond ring on it she snarled you didn't hear james and i are engaged i'm having his baby my heart shattered without saying anything i stumbled away trying not to cry a week later i was forced to go to the engagement party which both our families attended willow paraded around the party dragging james with her like a puppy dog the only saving grace for me was that billy eilish was giving a private show but not even that could mend my broken heart billy stopped in the middle of singing to make an announcement she laughed into the mic we probably shouldn't be celebrating james and willow's engagement since her baby is actually jason's a shock ran through the crowd billy bing billy dabbed and dropped the mic as she walked off stage all hell broke loose jason and willow both got pulled aside by our parents and i could tell they were in huge trouble for a moment i felt like james and i were free i walked up to him with tears in my eyes and we hugged for the first time in ages but our joy was short-lived since our parents found out about the party our lives changed forever james was sent to boarding school frustrated with my parents i decided to move out on my own jason and willow were forced to marry each other and their lives were miserable like they deserved eventually james went to prestigious college which i also went to with a scholarship sparks flew when we finally got to see each other again when he proposed to me it was the happiest day of my life and billy performed without interruptions at the engagement party it was
