My Life Was Changed Overnight After One TikTok Video | This is my story

hi i'm ayna now but that is not my real name and the reason why i'm in hiding was all my doing just because i wanted to go viral let me start from the beginning my mom was a perfect suburban wife raising me and my three-year-old brother cooking and cleaning my father was a perfect match dressing boring and working late i didn't know exactly what my father's work was at my school presentations and to my friends he was introduced by a generic government employee i asked mom a few times was he a criminal but she always answered i can neither confirm nor deny it i understood that she was messing with me but i had genuine doubts one time when my mom was away to visit grandma i got sick and i couldn't go to school so my dad had to stay with me i didn't hear a doorbell but someone was at the back door talking to him i sneaked out of my room to get a glass of water i know it's not nice to eavesdrop but i couldn't help myself and overheard a man addressing my father by some other name from that day i felt like my father was a stranger that had just mesmerized my mom when i was 16 he got promoted into what i also didn't know but we got to move to a fancy new house it was sad leaving my neighborhood cause all my friends were there as well as my uncle greg he wasn't a real uncle but he was a close family friend and he owned a corner shop where my friends and i hung out a lot he also visited us often to help out my mom when my brother was born also he helped me a lot with my homework but here we were moving up in the community and planning a vacation abroad which we hadn't had since i was a kid we went to morocco where my father's father was born i was expecting to be sipping cocktails on the nice beaches but for the first part of the vacation we went visiting some relatives in small dusty towns so my father and i got into a fight about me spending time chatting with my friends on tick tock instead of spending time with my parents and people i'd never seen in my life i wasn't gonna take being scolded in front of strangers lying down even though i doubt they understood a word i was saying so i screamed at the top of my lungs you spent little to no time with me while i was growing up so what do you expect for all i know uncle greg was a better father than you and stormed off outside to continue chatting on the phone the next morning my father woke me up and took me on a trip with just the two of us to a big city next to ours for the afternoon together at a water park on the way he looked into the distance while driving and his eyes started to water as you saw a few generations live together under one roof i lived with my parents and brother in a small room till graduation i never had any privacy or commodities so when your mom said we were blessed with you i promised myself that i would do everything to create a better life for you than i had he continued on about how hard it was to dedicate his time to work and miss those moments with us but now he had achieved a level where he could spend quality time with us and that's what we would do from then on it was hard not to cry but i suppressed myself looking down at the phone would have helped but in a rush i had forgotten it we went to the water park but surprise surprise he received a call on his new secret phone he left his personal phone to me and walked away to talk as always but then his face changed he nodded a few times and finished the call like i expected the water park was overruled by something more important but he couldn't say what typical he apologized a few times and said it would be super fast i wanted to throw a tantrum if it took too long but i changed my mind very soon the place where we arrived was all nicely decorated and we were met by the valet my father was on the guest list as we entered i understood it was a wedding and not just any but celebrities were swarming the place my father said he needed to meet someone so i needed to keep myself busy that's why he was leaving his phone to me and i could play some games i was looking around and nodding while he was talking as my father walked away i instantly downloaded tick-tock on his phone and was prepared to film some great material for my profile and then i saw the groom he was black and the hottest man alive i was astonished but i gathered myself and started filming the wedding dance i was approached by a waiter who asked me to delete the video and kindly refrain from filming the event as official photos would be sent to all guests i didn't lose my cool and answered that i was just using zoom because i forgot my glasses and showed him that there was no video in the phone gallery because it was already online and that's where it all went wrong the next day my father got a call on the work phone during lunch and went outside to talk he rushed in took his personal phone took his sim card out and went in the bedroom he came back half an hour later and looked straight at me furiously he sighed and went back into the room at that time i didn't understand what that was about i avoided him that weekend a few days later my video was trending because i filmed a celebrity's wedding what i didn't notice was that i'd accidentally film my father in the background accepting an envelope from some other dude but his employer did my father went ballistic he said that i needed to give him the password to my tick-tock profile immediately i never seen him that angry so i didn't even protest after the call with his employer he came back apologized for his behavior and explained to me that his phone was exposed via a backdoor app for collecting information the app tick tock of course he deduced that it was me who had installed it so he had to report it the very same hour my videos were deleted and the account closed there goes my 15 minutes of fame but what happened next was way worse and it happened so fast the vacation was cut short my father was called in by work a few days later my father gathered us in the living room and announced that he'd lost his job which meant no more fancy living but also he and our family could become a target for retaliation so he had an option to get secret identities my mom shook her head i was astonished i didn't understand who my father was and what the hell he did for work he sat me down and said i could ask anything because that was the least he owed me i just asked whether i had made him lose his job he explained that a valuable asset had been exposed because of the video and my father broke protocol bringing me on a covered mission he calmed me by telling me it was his fault and not mine and now my father's only concerned was the family safety but i guess my mom envisioned her life differently and this was the tipping point she declared that she wouldn't be changing her surname to go under protection but she was changing her surname to become uncle greg's wife turns out that my brother is only a half brother to me that was definitely a tmi moment for me the next few weeks it was like i was in a trance still unable to believe what had happened my father kept saying that everything would be fine and the only thing i needed to do was to think about what i wanted even though he had said it a million times i still felt responsible for splitting up my family so i stayed with my father we changed our names now i help him run a little grocery store i don't spend much time on social media now because i like hanging out with my father i learned to value our privacy the only secrets not worth keeping are between family my father has so many interesting stories to tell and finally i am truly able to see his dedication to me our family and the country after all i also served as a spy for a day did
