My CHEAP John Deere 420C Crawler Engine Is COMPLETELY STUCK And Way WORSE Than We Imagined

what is going on guys I'm watched chair go and today we are here at atwood's we're gonna try to get the 420 C running it's off the trailer already [Music] I just came back from O'Reilly I got some spark plugs so we've got the first piece of our equation they're their spark as long as the distributor and the wires work now we're gonna get some oil lubrication of course and then gas station for some fuel and I'm sure it has air in it so uh fuel air spark let's go all right well we're gonna go with this sae 30 wait right there it's a non detergent and then we're gonna use this battery which I don't think fits but maybe we can get it started with it real quick here for the fuel part but look what I found cts-v wagon it's always cool to see those alright VP can its brace fuel in this tractor here is the 420 C Jared grabbed the rust penetrate and I want to get the float Bowl off get this pretty ghetto looking it's really just a radiator hose I think that's right into the air cleaner there I wanted to get all that off and you look at the sentiment ball here it is full of sand I mean it that much of it is just sand and dirt so that's a lot of dirt we think that it was doing its job we grabbed the battery I grabbed some fuel we've got oil we have everything here I think now let's see if we can get this engine unstuck that was amazing let's pull the track cobwebs take a picture of the distributor cap so we know which way it goes pull it off and this one went here did you turn it back yeah I did this little bigger now it looks like if I get the water off no that's actually a rotor looks pretty reasonable to take it probably will work if we can make the plane turn we need to see our C sponsorship where ya see RCA see your s penetrants pretty cool we'll use your saw in tank too you know I watched that one guys channel to trial and little the guy who blows up all the engines oh no that guy tested all the rust penetrance and I think that's brand new points in it that looks brand new it's got brand new points in it the points are all corroded brother back on there but somebody just replaced those yeah well that should work I really need to borrow the engine over somehow I was there none of them accent yes it's definitely spinning that's it isn't it yep Lamarque nope yeah all right setting his alarm Oh somebody's stealing the bowl who's stealing a car somebody's stealing the most reliable car I didn't say on the internet I said that I own which is pretty easy to do honestly is there a longer fins look all right overflow busted often when the hydraulic pump is coupled to the front of the engine so that's gonna make that hard to turn oh yeah we have to move that don't know we're not gonna remove that put on the back of that pulley and it has been sitting with nockard loosen it for do they trying to take the hood off time to pull the exhaust in the Entei puts a lot simpler than we expected [Music] I did just notice that the overflow tube is not a text anymore I don't know how that happened oh man that's always exciting for sure all that welds broke on that well they could probably be braised back together all right we got all the nuts and bolts out of the hood now we're gonna try to lift this off should be fun with the loader on here they tell the pitch hit the loader spread the bottom well drama works so I guess we're good let's get out of here hey where's your vacuum at yeah definitely you always scratch off for there is a lot of trash on this beast we're gonna try to knock it all off here real quick [Music] [Music] the washers on top so we don't want to lose as Jeremy Clarkson says just use a hammer [Music] we found plenty of water into the valve cover not like standing water but condensation and everything like that and look like there's a little bit iced on one of the valleys on top of the head there but our game plan here is now we can shift it and we couldn't shift it when we picked it up see I'll show you here there we go we have one gear we had third right so at least we can shift it now before we could move the shifter at all we're gonna throw this back on the forklift take it outside and try to drag it a little bit well where did that valve cover go okay here it is a quick trip to the solvent tank and we've got that looking pretty reasonable much better than it did a second ago all the dirts gone and we got everything out of the way now so we're gonna get this thing back outside give it a pull see if it moves I do hope it moves there's no--there's out of that valve train for you guys a little bit of dirt left in there but we get a lot of it out somebody came out here and welded this plate onto this bucket with some chain slots and everything like that well did this on dirt chopped it off so now let's get this outside it is a windy one outside today you can hear the hangar door blowing around like none other we're gonna fork the tractor outside put a chain on it go to work tracks make a really good workbench that's kind of what we've heard today tools all over them pull start at the BR last week it was like negative five or six last week this week 19 degrees Celsius and 59 degrees so we're pretty happy with this thing being a workhorse and pulling everything we need super happy the drivetrain works on the crawler I did try this all off with my screwdriver and it's not moving one bit that's trash it's definitely trash alright there we go that's much better progress on this carburetor red four here Fletcher's been watching too many commercials dude too many commercials you have a straight bit over there Jerry you have pulled its bottle cable screw there's like a set screw on the throttle cable here no this is trash there's like some chicken wire in here holding the choke oh man it's an awesome I ripped that chicken wire in half perfect amia 3/8 egg it's the first one on the bottom you're in your fancy organizer oil one is and it's I wonder if that's that's probably where all that oil then come we probably that's like a big giant leak at least this hose is still a hose give it credit where it's due it's still flexible Oh check out this spider look at that it's alive we John Deere radiator om [Music] that's what's up everywhere all right we do have this clamp off already now we have to get to these last two bolts right here hopefully keep it out of the water jackets at the same time all right it looks like there's another one right here yeah yeah that came right loose let's see if I can go let's go Impossibles yeah oh well I guess there's no good way to catch this well least we know the full filament that is absolutely a good thing it's almost off already you don't even need the impact butcher ugh [Music] I'm not gonna go alright try not moving at all I don't think it out I guess we get to spray some rust but yeah we need more penetrant in some kind of wool let's vacuum it out to fill it with dirt again holy crap I really didn't think it was actually gonna go wow there's a ridge yeah it's kind of what I was afraid of it's not it it's dead oh I mean yeah hit it it'll run just might not run that we'll all right we're gonna let this soak for like 30 minutes and then we'll come back to it because we really need to let this try to get down into the cylinder and around the Rings a little bit so the Rings are guaranteed Doug yeah definitely stuck but this is a better shot if we let it sit for a little bit I know you're supposed to let it sit for one hour let's go eat now it's time for the small town food blog we're going to the one restaurant watch what watch this cylinder and make sure it's coming up yep cuz we're gonna bend these con rods yeah we will bend yep vacuum and that piston turns in the cylinder heads that wood is much softer that's crazy to watch this one turn the attorney yeah not bad number ones all right I threw the pipe wrench back onto the crank pulley here and it moved so Jared's gonna try to stand on it we're gonna see what happens it's sure trying to move that piston look at it bouncing on the cylinder here man come on just break loose all right we beat on this thing for a long time and we're gonna go ahead and stop now we got it down quite a bit but there's this big ridge in the cylinder I'm gonna see if I can show you guys this Ridge right here oh good call wipe it out real quick make life easy all right so shouldn't light that way if you would get right there you can see where the rings were sitting and it's the screwdriver kind of stops and then let's back up it's really deep in there so I mean yeah it'sit's just a ridge that's definitely all over us that's where we're stopping this we don't want to keep beating on it so we don't end up breaking something in there if we're gonna go any farther on this the engine probably has to come out Pistons need to come out the thing needs to go to the machine shop and then figure out what the game plan is from their rings Pistons liners I mean who knows how much work this actually needs so we're gonna take a break from it look in the manual see what we can find on how to disassemble it maybe get the loader off it to make access easy because that'll be fun to work around we were definitely not expecting this at the beginning of the day it's just far worse than we expected and I was so excited to come over here get this thing in the garage and start it we had a lot of hope at the beginning of the day and hey at least the the plus side is the drivetrain does roll freely now so we still need to get all the fluids on the back of it since it froze up but it moves really well via forklift so I guess I'm gonna go clean up some of the parts the water manifold throw that in the solvent tank the head I'll just kind of clean all the dirt off either this one has a ton of rust and that was quite a bit of rust this one's got a lot of rust up on the ball from sitting for so long it's got to build up that one's probably got to be replaced at
