My boyfriend made an evil shell challenge in The Sims...

so i asked my boyfriend to make me a shell of a house for a shell challenge i haven't looked at it yet my expectations are very low because he cannot be trusted and we're gonna try to turn the weird box that he has built for us into a house i'm gonna be honest i'm a little bit nervous the last time i asked him to do this he made it like a massive shell oh no what everybody's wanting to know what hashtag do they use he just made this for me i guess we could make a hashtag are we all gonna do this one let's do this everybody everybody else come on hashtag um duck dan shell i'm pretty sure he's done that hashtag already which is why i hesitated but that's okay there i put a comment let's take a look at this really fast oh it's sort of shaped like a heart you definitely didn't do that on purpose i know you're all gonna be like oh my god that's so cute no no okay it's not as bad as i thought it's actually smaller than i was expecting i'm a little bit upset with him because of how it looks but i think we can make this work i've got some ideas involving wrap around porches and things because i'm i'm looking at this and i'm like we could put a little balcony here like we i've you know i've got a vision so if you're unfamiliar with shell challenges i'll catch you up really quickly basically when you get a shell challenge you have the shell of a building you have this weird empty box and then you are tasked with trying to turn it into something and into a real build you can rotate it you can make the walls taller you can put like foundations and platforms and stuff you just can't add or change the walls so i couldn't be like i want this to be here that's cheating the shell has to remain the same and that's pretty much it it's very simple but i guess we'll just get started then to be honest a lot of times i do these like speed build form but i'm just gonna wing it and we're gonna just record it this way okay so like i said i'm kind of thinking a wrap around porch here i wonder if i send him a screenshot of the build when it's finished if he'll like recognize it as being his shell or if he'll have forgotten already because he built this for me a few days ago so i wonder if he would even notice that it was his shell oh boy the roof is gonna be quite something on this one folks all right how do we how do we go about this okay oh god that's infuriating we like drag that across don't we and then we do like this all right that's ugly we gotta try something else how does that look that's ugly too dan you just he's my editor so i'm talking directly to him right now dan you ruin everything why must you make this so difficult it's not that bad it's a little bad i don't like how that looks too much but what can be done yeah that's really annoying the way it clips like that like how do you even roof a house like this oh boy um oh my god i don't know i don't the back is just so weird i don't know how to do it i think i i think i've been stumped the front's okay like frankly i i kind of like the front the back is just exceptionally ugly do you think that we should wrap the porch around the whole back too no because i think we need to have a balcony here so here's kind of what i was thinking about i don't know if this will actually work or not but this is kind of what i was envisioning we would do because like then it i don't know it's finished or whatever okay wait no we can just expand it we do it like that oh drawing it in the ceiling i don't i don't think it was a good idea i think it had to be small because i think it had to be like that i don't i take it back you know how before i was like maybe we could all do the shell challenge don't do it don't don't do this to yourself the front is cute well what if we try to do a wrap around porch again what it no this is it looks like a spaceship and i mean that in like the absolute worst way possible whose ideal was this who let him do this all right next time you think it's a good idea to let your boyfriend make you a sims challenge i'm i'm gonna ask you to stop and think about it first i want you to think is it actually a good idea help somebody needs to please come and help me what is that what i want it to be different what i want is to have walls like this then all of a sudden everything works but no no there are no walls not there because why would there be instead we have the opposite can't even do like half walls and make a balcony because of the way the roof is it just really and truly is like objectively ugly isn't it like there's not a single nice thing that i have to say about the back of this house i don't know what to do i think i need to like restart i have decided to try something different um similar but it's different don't really know what to put as the roof maybe it's just a flat roof what about that that would work i've got a headache i can't tell if it's because of this probably is because of this all right i think that's better i still the back makes me want to cry but what can be done it just it's so like complicated and messy like when i look at it from this side i'm like ooh that is ugly how about we make it orange it's gonna be ugly you might as well just embrace it it looks like a pumpkin like this gives me like halloween vibes that's not what we're going for what if the walls were blue and the roof was orange i'll have an orange roof if i want one i don't think i've used this roof color before see i'm just i'm trying to branch out well there you go folks i put well i forgot the upstairs hang on there we go we have windows all around the house it's really extreme oh wow okay sorry compose yourself timzy i'm gonna be honest i cannot see myself furnishing this house today okay floor plan so you walk in to the house and then um so you walk in and then there is a staircase oh that's not gonna work is it okay so you walk in there is an entryway the entryway is very nice it's a little bit small and it leaves you into the dining room which is also very nice but a little bit small dining room big windows very nice place and then off the dining room we have the oh my god um off the dining room you come into the kitchen the kitchen where do you put cabinets okay i'm just i don't understand perhaps the kitchen no it's not big enough we also want to have a bathroom don't know how we're going to do that either can i go upstairs and try upstairs next let's do upstairs instead what is this someone please you have to we can't do this house like this we can't we can't it has to be different oh no all right that's a bedroom this is the hallway bedroom bedroom bedroom where do the bathrooms go this is an honest question i see nowhere that fits a bathroom i guess we have to have a big bathroom downstairs do you know what what if this whole thing becomes that's a very large bathroom with very fancy windows well what if this becomes a bathroom i feel like we sort of need to split off the rooms like i i feel as though it's somewhat necessary that we have walls that the kitchen can be on i guess the kitchen can be really skinny maybe the kitchen can be like this it's a bit skinnier than i imagined for the kitchen never mind never mind sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry i'm just trying to not have the door to the bathroom like in the corner but it might have to be there okay picture this right bathroom back here three bedroom house they share a bathroom downstairs kitchen in here big room for pretty much no reason then this is the living room my cat appeared hey snappy i feel like she could sense my pain she knew we were suffering so she came to help i mean it's weird but it fits that makes sense that's a floor plan please i don't want to furnish the rest of it maybe i'll just work on the outside to make myself feel like i've made more progress as you can see the guest is here to help so well you can't really see you can kind of see her head she's on the desk do you want to sit on my keyboard so that i can stop even my landscaping looks bad on this one why is everything going wrong on this build the staircase is off both porches that makes sense i do like how much like patio and porch space this house has like you have a massive patio over here plus the balcony like that's really nice all right admittedly this is not my best work but shell challenges are hard i think the rest of this won't be hard at all like now that we've done the shell like the inside is gonna be easy i think realistically it was just this bit that was the hardest for me to figure out the rest of the weird parts like this thing is is like overhanging right but that's easier to hide because you just put a big wraparound porch it really was just this thing that was so difficult to figure out what to do with i think it looks okay it's not my favorite but it's not that weird also i guess honestly like figuring out the floor plan down here of this weird area and like how to split it up and where to put a kitchen that was pretty difficult too i still feel like this room is really ugly i mean it fits what you need like you can get a tv in here really easily so the bases are covered it just isn't like the best we probably could have like opened this if we wanted to and now that i think about it maybe this would be better if it were like more open that's all right actually well that's not bad plenty of counter prep space okay no that's way better than before that i feel a lot better about this now i'm like fake furnishing the house that doesn't make any sense but that's what i'm doing because i wasn't going to furnish it because i was mad at the show being hard but but now i feel like i should furnish it so i'm just like throwing some furniture down doesn't look bad it's kind of bland but so are a lot of my builds okay i'm putting a chest table on part of the porch because i have to i'm gonna put an easel on the balcony i put a unicorn on the wall in the kid's room see finishing touches honestly like i said before i i simply cannot recommend that you do this show this shell is painful and upsetting and not worth it but if you do want to do the show it's on my boyfriend duck dan's gallery page his origin idea is just duckdan d-u-c-c-d-a-n and i guess you can post it with the hashtag duckdanshell but spell duckwright in the hashtag i'm not gonna like make a tour video of these or anything because i literally just did a shell tour so i feel bad doing another one but there it's done i'm it's there's furniture i don't want to i don't want to think about it anymore you know what it's not that bad it's kind of cute and considering what we had to work with wait i favorited it so there's a bunch of comments cool shell oh dear oh my oh no ah yeah that's how i feel yeah um well good luck and on that note i guess i'll see you all tomorrow it's not that bad three bedrooms one bathroom you got like full living space there's two computers yeah that's okay
