If I was a cameraman needed little to no food very little water and a different type of comfort based human then this is the perfect bag. Two radios, solid.
Lots of meds, makes sense.
Everything he has makes sense but having everything minus the good stuff isn't good enough.

Those little bivvy bags make a decent night sleep almost impossible. It's like sleeping in a chip bag.
Ever tried hiking with a little ass bag and a shelf stable ration bar? Fuck you loose moral like a motherfucker, now imagine it with a 40 pound pack.
I understand the one bag principle but making your camerabag also your overnight bag also your 72 hour bag. But that makes for a heavy bag but light in food and water and sleeping.
In all honesty that's the three things I want in my bob, sleep food and water. Shelter is wonderful too, but fuck I love sleeping. Ever had to stay awake beyond 48 hours? You become an angry toddler, clumsy, frustrated and all you want it a nap and a juice box.
I say nay on the ultimate bag, I say it's very modular and well thought out but it needs to be replaced with the basics. One little water filtration straw? One water bottle? Meal bars are great if your sitting still but other then that there just meh. Your car kit should be in your car, if you have a your gauge and a airpump why not add a toolbag and a fuel siphon kit and toss that into your car. Where's your water storage? This bag should not be emulated.

Just stumbled upon this by accident. This guy's fuckin crazy, in a good way. Seems to have really hammered this shit down.

Here's his tool/electronics pouch within the bag:

This guy offered some good ideas, but I will be honest, I'm a smaller guy, 5'11 165 and I like to apply what I learned playing sports to my survival decisions. Speed kills. I want to be mobile. In a SHTF situation once the initial "disaster" is over, earthquake, storm, anything else, the next big problem becomes the people around you. I like the idea that if I have to, I can get up and run. I can stay mobile, quiet, and hidden when I need to. I'm not hating on this guys bag, this is just MY mindset. I want to be quick and light!

He is obviously a gadget guy and has too many bobbles. "An assortment of nighteyes figure 9 carabiners" means several wasted ounces. We aren't military guys humping hundred pound packs. We don't go on forced marches for fun. We don't ruck march several times a week or even month.

Civilians have a different capability than the military does, and generally that means lighter kit. One advantage we DO have is the ability to use gear that is lighter, but occasionally not allowed by the military.

Don't get me wrong, he does have some good ideas. Ditching the camelback for a 6L bag is a great idea, as is the cavity repair kit. But overall his bag needs to go on a weight loss program. If he does 2 simulated weekend long bugout scenarios, that bag will weigh several pounds less when he gets back, provided he's not married to all the crap in there.

Overall I think the guy has some good ideas, I just think "Ultimate" is a bit of a stretch. Thanks for sharing the video. A good find for folks to get ideas from.

hey youtube Jimmy Gunn and I'm back actually have some time to do some videos now took down a bunch of videos of equipment that I don't use anymore so today I'm going to do a review of my EDC 72-hour failsafe system that I use everyday on the left is a 5-11 sidekick briefcase which I use for administrative office stuff and on the right is my tactical practical efficient 72-hour gear bag made by 511 tactical and I'm going to bust into it before I go into the pack this one I've had this pack about two years now and I'm tickled pink with the performance of the bag I'm really rough on my stuff and that's somebody they like puts things down I just I throw my stuff around zippers are completely intact the great grab handles been excellent 511 rates the grab handle for 2,000 pounds I have no way of testing that but my loadout with rations and water weighs 41 pounds a lot of people say that's you know pretty pretty heavy but I say hey them soldiers are out there pumping 100 150 pound rocks and every time I grab my pack and feel it I think of those guys out there serving so I say to you guys anybody have a problem with a 42-pound pack suck it up but all in all it's been a great pack I recommend it to anybody I went with the 72-hour size because with you know when you go bigger you have options some people say well you get when you go bigger it just makes excuses to load it out some more well it all depends on how disciplined you are the way what's nice about 272 is that it has four compression straps even when I'm on vacation when I throw the pack on the bed I pull out all my my gear I detach all the Molly attachments and then I compress it to the bag is almost flat me I might take a first-aid kit and put it in the pack but that's what I like about the pack the bigger the pack the more options that you have so you know I didn't want to get into a thing where I had you know three different size packs as soon as you start to do that you start implementing things to where when you grab the pack you forgot something in another pack so not to sound like a broken record but like I showed I have a briefcase and I have the pack that's all I have the other reason for that is I see a lot of people making Bob bags and they're at home now for instance I live by a nuclear power plant if I'm at the mall or if I'm visiting friends and family and I'm 15 20 miles away some emergency is declared I'm not going home so I can't grab the at-home pack so I figured as long as I have my briefcase in my rush 70 took my 511 rush 72 on me I have everything that I need okay that portion of the pack there's a fleece lined pocket I just stole my asthma medication back here I opted to get rid of my Camelback and back here I just keep a six liter water bladder it's foldable pack there's a waist strap that's concealed in a sleeve in the back of the backpack this configuration that you're looking at now is if I was on foot and I had a free up more room out of the main main pack if I needed to free up even more room I have several six five eleven 6x6 pouches I can weave this waist strap through another pouch which would free up even more room in the main pack 511 6x6 pouches are very simple which I like compared to the you know some of my expedition stuff I think I really liked about the pouches are these guide / retaining clips it allows to keep the pouch pressed against the pack very nicely compared to other like if you used a Maxpedition tact I for a year it allows a lot of this wobbling on the pack very pleased with five eleventh design of their pouches top admin area of the pack I have two night eyes figure 9 clip style carabiners nameplate in sight clip light which I use to light the inside of my car a room or to inspect the front section of my administrative pouch at night inside I have bug spray hand warmers a large 20 gallon garbage bag night eyes curved man for my earbuds batteries and ear plugs on the left side of my back I have an expedition extreme roly-poly backpack which is essentially almost replaced my 511 push back clips on your belt or if I don't want to haul the big pack around like you grab this as a lot of storage below that 6x6 511 moly pouch inside I have a compass an assortment of figure 9 and night ice figure 9 carabiners night eyes adjustable bungee cord the hooks will fit in between pals webbing so if you want to retain anything such as a light jacket or a rain cover on the outside of your pack these would be perfect they have a lot of uses 100 feet of paracord two flares on the right side of the pack I have a block 81 knife radio pouch bio Fong you v5r ham radio so I can hear what's going on out there usually set to the Weather Channel night eyes gear tight light very handy for accessing you know checking maps out looking inside the main compartment of the pack or accessing the inside as to settings and then you can just leave it on strobe and use it like even extend it like this it uses an antenna for signaling here's a stylet the long version stylist Streamlight Stylus Pro and a Tom Anderson technical pen and a 511 med pouch here's the 511 met pouch again looks nice it could be detached from the main pack and put into my 511 push pack or the Maxpedition roly-poly extreme backpack if I'm traveling up here is the boo-boo get down here is for serious lacerations and trying to control blood top section cleared in Toms gasps multivitamin rescue inhaler all types of pain relief cold medicine cough drops purple bottle here is for cavity repair band-aids alcohol swabs and band-aids alcohol swabs and all types of closures for the wife or girlfriends after bite it does work tweezers or gel Advil water for purification pills and a cold compress the bottom pouch is for bigger boo-boos pair of medical shears CPR faceshield ace bandage don't know if this is called this is that new tape that that clings to itself so you can hold gauze first aid guide and probably five to six four by six gauze emergency blanket I need to get another one of these and some quick cloth on the left side pocket of the bag and let me give you a tip if you over stuff even though this pocket on the bag does blouse if you overstuffed these side pockets you will lose real estate in the main compartment in this pocket I have a SOG collapsible shovel on the right side pocket of the bag I carry a SOG axe one-piece design and I use the SOG sheath but I carry a Gerber saw on the front of the pack on a carabiner I'm the compression strap between the admin pouch in the rear I have a hydro flask canteen this is absolutely awesome it's a must keeps things hot or cold for at least 20 hours I have a mad rock carabiner rated at 6000 pound you can lock to grimlocks I like those single-handed operation to access whatever you want to get to quickly USB cord from a camera to download pictures into my board here's another pair of carabiners and it hold my 5 late 511 station work gloves below here is milspec monkey's admin pouch which which I want really handy is just because it sits in the back of my back seat of my car access my business cards I also at the bottom have two other Grimlock carabiners before you saw the night ice adjustable bungee if you want to fold up a jacket a sweatshirt or something yeah I can stick it on there run the bungee tighten it I'm good to go let's go into the admin pouch in the top pocket of the bag I added these orange paracord zipper pulls makes a lot easier to see where they start and stop at night it's at pouch is a light clip for this light up here spare contacts lint roller keep the cover so it doesn't stick to everything in the backpack chapstick sunblock spare matches you see Oh is a must that's the only match you should carry these are soaked sheets stain remover the campbell cr123 battery case from a flashlight and hand sanitizer below the pouch i just reviewed i have a micro pigs orbit towel magnifying glass jesus' Tape mole skin to glow sticks to sharpies right in the rain pen if electronics are down very reliable paper is a good thing you want to even know it in someone's car I don't have to worry about it getting wet and soggy and not being able to be read Kleenex and the locks exit black bag a pencil for the ride in the rain pen right in the rain paper in here I have a tire gauge and Smith's pocket sharpener for my knives in this pouch Phoenix hl21 90 lumen headlamp toilet paper I'm the shirt where do you like it this pocket here baby wipes and wet ones and three and ninety five respiratory masks just in case there's some kind of goofy outbreak or if I just need them because I'm gonna super dusty I find myself in soupy super dusty area this top pouch here Gold Bond kind of help with chafing here so is a sewing kit my wife was in that canonical frontier filter straw water filter straw and a all-weather set of Maxpedition playing cards the past a time very stuck somewhere all right let's go inside the pack mind you the depression straps all right on the front section of the pack in here I have a SAS survival guide I Maxpedition pocket reference book a poncho and here a really big target it's like alright now that the packs open the top portion of the bag you can zip the very top of the bag and xxxx excess excess a lot of things on the top portion of the pack 5:11 watch cap become a pretty good fan ''tis I hope I pronounced it right then they kill off hard cases they're not pelicans like they are watertight and have waterproof lighter I keep the cigar I haven't used it yet but you get a big deal on these on eBay here's a sea2summit 10 liter bucket great for the hotel they give you that little bucket of ice so if your party in the hotel this makes a lot nicer to haul some more ice back to the room this is sold vivvy I usually in the wintertime I'll bring the mixture right I have a pity on me and some of these heat heat packs ever stuck and you're really cold just remember to shake one of these up throw it in the Biddy with you here is just a loaded toiletries that I I carry which covers just about everything from shaving collapsible toothbrush Micro tell shampoo shaving cream tweezers q-tips you name it it's in there this is my expedition fr1 pouch which was a lot of my electronics and such I'm good there's a lot in here so I'm gonna do a separate review on that this is a waterproof bootie head and in here in this pouch here I know these these two these two pouches here I explained earlier in the video that they could leave the compartment and then go and go on waste packages so you can buy some move but in here you don't see it enough said binoculars you like to for these for reconnaissance and you don't want to waste your time and your travels walking in the wrong direction and find out you have to come back and in here in the ziplock bag they eaten fr 150 micro link to hand-crank radio weather stations radio light super handy this is just cleaner in this pouch here I have a heavy-duty tie-down ratchet flying air compressor the cords and a tire Creamery to repair tool it's important pouch here I have the GSI tele light minimalist cooking channel my cooking kit which I just stayed in the other video it's a GSI tell you light minimalist cooking Footwear so I'll just show you how I have it stowed here's the lid you drink or eat from there and you cook like that inside I have a pocket esbit stove put for fuel cubes this is a pack gripper you see Oh weather storm proof matches tap simple score instant coffee two extra fuel cubes a wind guard for the stove that I made I'm about eight plies of tint it just unfolds I could wrap it around the stove to block the wind and it comes with a cozy that's my cooking all right the bottom here is my water and food rations this is a five eleven six by nine pouch fits perfectly at the bottom of the belly of the bag as long as like I said before you don't stop your side pockets up and too much what starts to borrow too much real estate in the pack you won't be able to fit this at the bottom but if these stuff was just right and put it in the belly of the bag your bag will sit up inside I have a fishing kit now I just have this in here in case things really turn so this is called the pen rod fishing kit got a ride reel and I have some fresh water lures case I got a fish here's some water ration pouches sometimes it takes water to get to water here I carry two made a food ration bars any time if I'm stuck somewhere I really don't want to have to worry about cooking something these are a little bit more compact to take with you versus you know packing up the freeze-dry stuff or the MREs see a lot of people put MREs in their pack they're fine if you're gonna use them that day but if you have a pack like mine where it's with me all the time so it's in it's sitting in my car MREs will not hold up or the freeze-dried stuff there have to be under temporal they have to be temperature controlled the food ration bars you see here they don't so they have a five year shelf life no maintenance and again if you're walking or stuck somewhere do you really want to be cooking because your location where you end up stopping or coming across trouble could change so you just hate to have to pack up your cooking gear and move where you just have some ration bars okay here are some back in bags you got zip lock this end and a vacuum belt on the other I just keep extra pair underwear shirts and some casual like athletic shorts in case they end up staying at a friend's house these are super handy sweet salt air oh love it too here these are made by fossils it's flat cookware and you have a cup dish bowl and a spoon very handy to have on you you sitting some picnic situations or if I go to like to the races you know hot dog hamburger fries and a drink and you're standing there in line waiting for it and you got to go back to the back to your seat I used to play a lot to hold my stuff so very convenient and again if you're out the bow and you're stuck somewhere yeah a plate might be nice nice if somebody gives you some food while you're waiting for either rescue ride or you know whatever I just thought since it's so like it's flat easy to stow these are pretty cool alright have to hold the camera for this part but as you can see here here's the tripod now the rush 72 is the only pack of their three models which is 12 24 and 72 the 72 has a detachable administrative clamshell part of the pack well you can run the tripod leg back behind the compression strap and it bottoms out in the netting so very easily you could stow the tripod for travel so just a little tip if people want to use this pack for a camera bag
