Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
If I was a cameraman needed little to no food very little water and a different type of comfort based human then this is the perfect bag. Two radios, solid.
Lots of meds, makes sense.
Everything he has makes sense but having everything minus the good stuff isn't good enough.
Those little bivvy bags make a decent night sleep almost impossible. It's like sleeping in a chip bag.
Ever tried hiking with a little ass bag and a shelf stable ration bar? Fuck you loose moral like a motherfucker, now imagine it with a 40 pound pack.
I understand the one bag principle but making your camerabag also your overnight bag also your 72 hour bag. But that makes for a heavy bag but light in food and water and sleeping.
In all honesty that's the three things I want in my bob, sleep food and water. Shelter is wonderful too, but fuck I love sleeping. Ever had to stay awake beyond 48 hours? You become an angry toddler, clumsy, frustrated and all you want it a nap and a juice box.
I say nay on the ultimate bag, I say it's very modular and well thought out but it needs to be replaced with the basics. One little water filtration straw? One water bottle? Meal bars are great if your sitting still but other then that there just meh. Your car kit should be in your car, if you have a your gauge and a airpump why not add a toolbag and a fuel siphon kit and toss that into your car. Where's your water storage? This bag should not be emulated.
Just stumbled upon this by accident. This guy's fuckin crazy, in a good way. Seems to have really hammered this shit down.
Here's his tool/electronics pouch within the bag:

Lint roller?
This guy offered some good ideas, but I will be honest, I'm a smaller guy, 5'11 165 and I like to apply what I learned playing sports to my survival decisions. Speed kills. I want to be mobile. In a SHTF situation once the initial "disaster" is over, earthquake, storm, anything else, the next big problem becomes the people around you. I like the idea that if I have to, I can get up and run. I can stay mobile, quiet, and hidden when I need to. I'm not hating on this guys bag, this is just MY mindset. I want to be quick and light!
He is obviously a gadget guy and has too many bobbles. "An assortment of nighteyes figure 9 carabiners" means several wasted ounces. We aren't military guys humping hundred pound packs. We don't go on forced marches for fun. We don't ruck march several times a week or even month.
Civilians have a different capability than the military does, and generally that means lighter kit. One advantage we DO have is the ability to use gear that is lighter, but occasionally not allowed by the military.
Don't get me wrong, he does have some good ideas. Ditching the camelback for a 6L bag is a great idea, as is the cavity repair kit. But overall his bag needs to go on a weight loss program. If he does 2 simulated weekend long bugout scenarios, that bag will weigh several pounds less when he gets back, provided he's not married to all the crap in there.
Overall I think the guy has some good ideas, I just think "Ultimate" is a bit of a stretch. Thanks for sharing the video. A good find for folks to get ideas from.
Jesus, got enough moral patches bro?
