[Music] alright guys welcome back to the table as you see the M&P 2.0 subcompact that's right I got one had one I've had one actually for now a couple of weeks been kind of playing around with that I actually haven't shot at the gun by the way is unloaded so don't worry about me throwing around like it's a you know potato but other than that I have not actually had a chance to shoot this yet this is my initial impression for those of you who are not familiar I will always do an initial pression video before I actually shoot it and then come back and do the after shot video because you know again the impressions may change from when you initially get the gun to after you've shot it in this case the 2.0 subcompact is a pretty sweet gun for a lot of different reasons so I'm gonna show you a couple of reasons why I like this gun and why I picked it up first off the price point it was under $400 I got this for 357 or something like that but it was definitely under 380 I know that for sure I can't remember but I know it was anywhere between 350 to 375 around there so out of the bow out of the door fantastic price for a gun that you know is gonna work and that's going to be extremely reliable the other reason why is because I kept going back and forth you guys know I have the M&P 2.0 compact think the world of that gun I think it's a fantastic handgun and a great choice for anybody who's looking for a good carry piece in this regards I went with this because I was always looking at the 3.6 I was intrigued intrigued by that but I was like well I already have the four-inch why would I need the 3.6 with the same grip well then without a lot of fanfare Smith released this gun and interestingly enough the gun comes with this little magazine here and then of course it comes with a flat base plate now both these magazines are a little different this is a 10 round magazine I purchased from a store this is actually a 12 rounder of which unfortunately how to get pinned so now it's only a 10 rounder and that sucks and I know so you can rag on me in the comments all you want but one of the things that I thought was kind of interesting is that the size of this gun is not too bad you know it's definitely a little bit larger than the Glock 26 Glock 26 I can't even get my pinkie on at the bottom this gives you just a little bit of that lip on the base plate to give you more on that pinkie is it extreme absolutely not it is still a very tiny gun but ultimately it's still slightly bigger than 2 six you also have the option of running a 12-round extended magazine with that little pinky extension right there which just gives you a little bit more bite to your pinky without adding a lot to the back of the grip which again for most of us we know this is where the printing is going to be if you're carrying so overall that package seemed to be pretty good too magazines 12-round capacity if you're looking for capacity for me it doesn't really matter at this point and you know a fairly good track record but then as you open the box you realize it comes with a small medium medium large and a large back strap so now you have four different variances of how you want to carry this this one right here has the medium on there but then it gets even more interesting because if you have full size magazines from let's say a four and a quarter-inch M&P or five-inch M&P well they attach this little guy right here which is this which is kind of interesting because if you look at it it has the same texturing as they grip on the M&P 2.0 series but this is a full size magazine so if you let's say you have a full size magazine that carries 17 rounds again this has been pinned but if you have that ability now you have two twelve round mags and one seventeen round magazine or - that's pretty good firepower and how does it fit in the grip pretty darn good you're not going to necessarily get that pinching feeling you get a nice full grip with a fairly short slide so that's pretty cool but let's say you don't have a full size and you only have the compact size well guess what they also give you that they give you this little collar to go around your compact size magazines so let's say you have two compact and now you want to carry 15 rounds it's a 30 additional rounds if you have two magazines here plus another 24 rounds you have 54 rounds that's pretty good and what's even better is it fits very nicely and now now you have your compact 3.6 so that's sort of why I went with this gun as opposed to the only three point six just because you have that very ability to carry a very small compact package or go bigger go medium or go just slightly above small so overall just a great package for what you were paying for again you can see the texturing is the same as the MVP 2.0 texturing very aggressive but you know in my opinion very manageable it allows you to get a very good grip on the handgun now some of the things that I did notice about this which are kind of interesting is that you saw the texturing on the the collars that came for the bigger magazines but you'll notice that the on this one here is actually different this is actually from or what appears to be the old 1.0 series so I'm not sure why that is maybe they just didn't want to create new you know new extensions and maybe they had an abundance of these so they figured okay let's just throw these out with the guns and then when we run out we'll come back to the drawing board and create the new ones but who knows you know I don't work for them so I don't know what the situation was that one of the other things I noticed too is that even with the the magazine release the mag release actually doesn't feel like the 2.0 texturing either it feels more like that smoother 1.0 texturing so you know maybe just some slight inconsistencies with the the gun itself doesn't make it bad or good that's up to you I don't think it really matters I mean when I'm holding a gun with a pinky extension I'm not saying oh well this feels smoother on my pinky and I'm not saying that I'm not gonna think of that I'm just saying oh that feels kind of comfortable you know positive rejection for the magazines on all of them that's pretty good you can see that the finish on here is very good it has like that melon knight coating I believe that's what it's called might be something else who knows but overall you got the steel guide rod so very nice very nice gun trigger wise standard 2.0 trigger you know is it better or worse than any of the other ones no not really but there's your take-up and a nice clean break and then here's your reset so a short reset it's not extremely tactile definitely not very audible but it's still not bad it's still a good trigger is this something you would want to upgrade me personally yes which is why I have this year but at the same time is it something that you need to upgrade you know it depends on you guys I don't think it does but it certainly helps when you have it that's for sure overall fit and finished is very good you know from what I'm seeing just out of the box since the slide seems to be very easy to pull back and one of the things that I'm going to show you right about now is that if you've been back and forth between a 2.0 compact or even this subcompact right now or shield you're gonna see in front of you right now that the difference in size is not very much I mean it's actually very small in regards to the comparison so if you don't want a single stack that only carries 8 rounds max and you want to go with a double stack that isn't necessarily gonna destroy you in regards to weight width and size then this could be a good option for you and then to put it in perspective the weight difference between the and let's say the shield is literally eight double-a batteries that's it that's all it is guys eight double-a batteries so if you're carrying keys in your pocket and a flashlight and a knife and a flamethrower and all these other things that all you tactical cool guys carry I really don't think four eight eight batteries is that big of a difference and wait I could be wrong you tell me what you think but overall what am i one of my impressions well you know there are some hit and misses with this handgun the hits are a lot price texturing grip the compatibility with everything that you have already possibly I think everything is a hit on that case the miss is I'm still kind of shaking my head wouldn't have been nice to have a plate right here for an optic it seems that's where the market is generating a lot of its support right now and I'm not really sure why this came out without that you know obviously Smith has come out with the core series that are having those put on them but so far nothing for just the regular series models and I really think that is a miss in regards to Smith & Wesson's part it would have been nice just to have that option and to put it in more perspective here you've got your CC the CCP 10s and you know you look at the size of this gun and I'll put the flat base plate in there and maybe I'll do a full comparison on these guys one day who knows but if you were to put both of these in the hand the difference in size is negligible the base plate on the P 10s is thicker than the on the 2.0 subcompact that's the only difference in the grip length that's it slide length is pretty much let's see right there out there the slide length on the on the S is just slightly longer and I mean slightly longer guys we're not talking much again a very negligible difference you know holding them both in my hands I would say that they both fairly you know work in regards to how low they fit into my hand the Smith actually feels like it's sitting a little bit lower into my hand than the actual P 10s but again if you're looking for an optic ready pistol this has the advantage for that simple reason come on Smith put a damn plate on here and get this thing optic ready because I think that's where the market is generating a lot of interest and I think that's where this may have missed a mark but other than that so far the initial impressions of this gun have been very positive for me can't wait to get it out to the and shoot it to see what's going on to see what the recoil is keep in mind has all the 2.0 features so you're gonna have that steel chassis running through here so that should mitigate recoil for a gun this small I think it's gonna be very interesting to see how these magazines run with it with the longer grips even with this little utg plus a zero extension that I got and you can see look that's the wrong one whoops that's actually for the P 10s but there's this one right here and guys as you notice it actually adds just enough of that pinky room without really giving a heck of a lot in regards to you know losing that concealed ability so to speak so again I'd love to hear what you guys have to say do you think the 2.0 subcompact is something that maybe will generate some interest from people or do you think this is a Miss and if so why but I personally think it's actually pretty good I think this actually fits a place for everybody especially if you're looking for a small double static subcompact that gives you enough firepower and compatibility with other things you may already own so again love to hear of those comments are read those comments cuz I can't hear them but I'd love to see what you guys have to say about the gun stay tuned for the post impressions and regards to shooting this and we'll see where it goes anyway guys have a great day stay safe and as always everyone freedom is never free
