it's the worst thing in the world to get a mouse inside your camper they destroy things i don't know how many things they've chewed of ours but i'm going to show you how to keep the mice out and have them never come back again and i'm also going to tell you something that you may not realize about your rv because the manufacturers don't tell you this so the first thing to look at when trying to discover how are mice getting into rv is just where are you noticing that they're getting in in the first place in our case they were always arriving under the sink and the first year that we had them they were up and they were in and they're in the drawers and they're eating candles and they were just doing all these stupid things they're not supposed to do and the second time we had a little more idea of what they're up to so we had the one door open and we had mouse traps around it and they would get in they would get to the mouse trap they get caught and that was the end of it but they were never getting anywhere they weren't getting into anything they weren't doing any more damage they're just in and caught but we're like how in the world is this possible that we have so many mice in the camper like how are they getting in and i went through and i i filled in all the holes and and got it all taken care of but there's something that you guys may not realize about your rv and you may need to actually take a look at this so the big thing about mice whenever they make their way into an rv into a space they'll leave a scent and then that scent suddenly becomes a highway so other mice can find their way in where the first one did so what we're going to do is we're going to use a combination of steel wool and some of this pest block and we're going to be inserting the steel wool into the holes which will fill up and looking for the holes is a little bit tricky you have to make sure you go around under all the cupboards under all the spaces anywhere that things can get up and then we're going to fill those holes with this pest block as well and the combination will mean a this is something that they definitely don't want to chew into double don't want to chew into let's go around and let's get started on this i've got a couple of these holes that i have to fill up plus i want to show you the big thing that i couldn't believe happened in our camper so to fill up this hole here what i'm going to do is i'm going to take a little bit of this spray foam in here then to really give it some texture i'm going to put some steel wool in here and i'm actually going to push it down farther than what it needs to go and we're just going to give it a little bit more that's going to compress together and it will give us a barrier pest barrier that they won't be able to get through so let's go ahead and do this for all of the holes that we find in our rv so underneath where i've got my hot water here we've got a couple holes that go through the floor that's where i thought that the problem was but as you're going to see in a second this was not the problem at all so underneath our kitchen sink we have a lot of things coming up here and one of the things that is under here is this false wall so we're going to take this false wall out [Music] what i found behind here uh really startled me look at this guys that is the hole that is in the bottom of my rv this was made by the manufacturer and it's huge no wonder mice were getting in here like that's bigger than my hand so the way to get around this is i built a jig out of wood no not a jig i cut a piece of wood that would fit in there that would limit the size of the hole and then after we get this in place then we're going to do all of our sealing around it because there is no way that we are able to fill that complete void okay so this is made to go kind of like this [Music] it was in there this wire comes out and now i only have little teeny tiny holes everywhere let's screw that into place okay now that we're good we can start to fill in this hole to keep these mesis out there we go no more mice completely remove mice from your rv so that's it mice taken care of the biggest shocker in all of this for me was the fact that there's a huge hole in the floor of my rv and i had no idea that it was there so thankfully i found it now i fixed it but you know if you're having problems with mice sneaking into your camper take a look take some panels off do some thorough inspections chances are it's not that you're doing a bad job it's just somewhere in your camper there's a huge hole underneath that everyone can get in you know a raccoon could have fit in there thanks for watching today guys i hope you found this helpful it hopefully helps you with your rv struggles as you travel around please like subscribe we'd love to have you here and join us on our channel as we talk about rving and travel and vlogging and all those fun things till then we will see you in the next video
