[Music] it is 2024 and that means a brand new year of movies and a brand new year of all kinds of things we can look forward to some of them might be disappointing some of them might not live up to our expectations but this list is going to be about movies that I can't wait to see this year and as always there are movies that aren't announced that just kind of come about for instance I had never heard of mass in 2021 it ended up being my favorite movie of the year I had never heard of the first slam dunk last year and it ended up being my favorite movie of the year that happens all the time if you had told me that at one point in time Miles Teller was going to have a movie out about drumming I would be like okay I mean I'll go see it but that ended up being Whiplash so you never know but these are movies that I know are coming out this year or at least have been announced as coming out this year and sometimes release dates can change for instance Jordan Peele has a movie that some people are putting on their list and he's spoken about it it doesn't have a title it was originally a placeholder date for I think December and I highly doubt that it will come out this year based off of the strikes of last year it will probably get pushed but if it is to come out this year of course anything directed or written by him I want to see this list is not in any type of ascending or descending order it's just a bunch of movies that I can't wait to watch this year but before we get into that list I do want to give a special thank you to the sponsor for this video factor factor list I'm not going to go too in depth with all of them I'm just sort of going to mention some things that I'm excited to see about them obviously since I haven't seen the movies I can't really go into depth about them so it's also a kind of long list so I don't want to waste your time and have you sitting here forever as I prattle on about movies I want to see Argyle is Matthew Vaughn's new movie with an incredibly stacked cast I've seen the trailers a lot I'm actually trying to avoid them at this point because I feel like I know more than I need to but when Matthew vaugh can deliver a really good action comedy as he has done many times in the past then that's definitely going to get my ass in the seat here's one I'm really pumped about Lisa Frankenstein this is the directorial debut of Zelda Williams and it's also written by Diablo Cody who wrote Juno and the highly underrated Jennifer's Body that I love and will always defend it's a great movie and if you haven't seen it or if you saw it back in 2009 and were like dude that movie sucked or whatever just go watch it again it's actually great but it's also a horror comedy and you just don't really see too many of those anymore it's very difficult to convince Studio heads to take horror comedies seriously because they just want jump scares every 10 minutes and very serious stuff and demons and exorcisms so anytime a horror comedy comes out especially one from Focus Features for all those Reasons I'm looking forward to seeing it driveway dolls is a new movie directed by Ethan Cohen not the Cohen Brothers together this time and it's co-written by him and Trisha cook anything Cohen I'm going to see of course Dune part two Deni VNV behind the camera I am obviously going to watch it but the first dune was excellent so naturally I will be there and very anticipated Love Lies bleeding is directed by Rose glass she last made St mod and this film stars Kristen Stewart if you haven't seen the trailer for it it's one of the best trailers I've seen in a very long time I cannot wait to see this one truthfully I don't know about the Roadhouse remake except for this photo which is really all I need plus also it's a remake of Roadhouse which is one of like the most notoriously good bad movies ever made it'll be tough to do without Patrick suy and his wonderful sisms but I am very excited to see Jake Gyllenhaal in whatever this movie is going to be Mickey 17 directed by bong Jun ho that's all I need to know but he does have an incredible cast including Robert Patterson I'm putting Ghostbusters Frozen Empire on here because I really did like the most recent Ghostbusters movie but I will be honest that the trailer didn't really do anything for me I just want to see it so I guess it should be on the list plus it's just one of those giant movies that you you hope is going to go the right way but I don't really have any like it's weird it's like of course I want to see it but I also wouldn't be sad if I never did it's so weird to say that but I don't know that's kind of where I'm at with that movie I am very curious about Alex Garland's new film Civil War his last film was men extremely polarizing and very weird this movie I have again really no idea what it's about except for the obvious and it's really just one of those things where I have so much trust for him because of how many risks he's taken in the past and of course making a few really good movies the new Godzilla Kong movie uh new Empire Godzilla Kong X Kong Godzilla and Kong Godzilla kisses Kong what whatever it is it's a Godzilla movie and King Kong's in it I am unreasonably excited for the Fall Guy it's directed by David Leech I have liked many of his films it feels from the trailer to be very old-fashioned Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are two of the most talented actors working today and I'm positive we'll have amazing chemistry with one another but I just want to see Ryan Gosling do a bunch of stunts and get his ass kicked in a movie and it just just really feels like a perfect role for him I know I said I wasn't going to talk about order but without a doubt in my top three of the Year furiosa George Miller is returning once again to the Mad Max Universe I can't believe how privileged we are that we are still getting movies in this universe directed by the same person this trailer looks absolutely stunning by the way Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is also coming out yes Matt Reeves is no longer involved in the directorial chair West ball is who did The Maze Runner films I think he's super talented and obviously there hasn't been a bad Apes movie since they rebooted it so I don't have a reason really to be doubtful yet I mean we'll have to see the film but I I I feel like it's this weird place where we're in where we're like well that ended and it was really good and you know this is just going to be bad and it's like well I mean they've all been good so far so that at the very least the studio is treating the IP with respect so let's hope the writers do too the same goes for quiet place day one this is obviously going to be different from the John krinski Emily Blunt version you have lepan yongo in the film and it's a different filmmaker but both quiet place movies have been very good so far and this is also the director of pig which was excellent so all of these things plus the star power of lepan yongo just seem like it could really potentially be a great horror film Horizon chapter 1 and two directed by Kevin Cosner these are apparently massive West Wern American frontier movies look all all I know is that Kevin Cosner is a very good filmmaker open range watch it it is so good I like it more than his most famous movie Dances with Wolves that's for sure open range is good Deadpool 3 I mean it's it had a placeholder on the list just by name alone the first two are very good but honestly the thing that excites me the most is Hugh Jackman is returning as Wolverine they've promised that it won't interfere with the greatness that is Logan so yeah of course I'm going to go see Deadpool 3 what do you think I am some crazy person Beverly Hills Cop Axel F I'll be honest I'm not like a massive fan of this franchise two and three but what I do love is Eddie Murphy and I am very much looking forward to seeing him back in this role because of course you watch those movies for him alien Romulus I have a lot of hopes for this one because as much as I love Prometheus and enjoyed alien Covenant more than most people I think I do think I am ready to see someone else's Vision or version of alien I don't know I feel good about it it's probably something that later I'll watch this video and be like why did you say that or maybe not you know fetty Alvarez has made a lot of really good stuff so we'll see okay Twisters listen twister is the greatest movie rating of all time it is rated PG-13 for intense depiction of very bad weather let me tell you right now that alone is going to get me to see Twisters I really do love twister it's a movie that I have watched at least once a year pretty much since it came out I don't know anything about this except for the fact that they're saying that it's like not really a reboot but is but also not really a sequel but is and that it's just sort of like taking the Fe of it and doing more of it I don't know what that means man and honestly I don't care I just really miss big movies about weather disasters I miss movies like deep impact and Armageddon and volcano and twister and the day after tomorrow and I need more of those wolves I really don't know much about this except Brad Pit George Clooney directed by John Watts who made the Spider-Man trilogy the recent Spider-Man trilogy those three things are for me Beetlejuice 2 directed by Tim Burton Michael Keaton is back that's all I need man I'm going to be there uh to see him back in that role is going to be very surreal I'm hoping that it's a big hit for Tim Burton he had a lot of success with Wednesday but on the film side lately his movies haven't quite delivered at the box office and so I'm really hoping that this can be a revitalization to the film side of Burton's career after his extreme success with Wednesday but also again I just got to say Michael Keaton is back as beat juice which is like that came out like I don't that the thought of that is just insane to me of course I'm going to go see this movie I'm excited about it I really like the first one walking Phoenix was excellent but I'm strangely more excited to see Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn Gladiator 2 I am looking forward to purely based off the title Ridley Scott is making another Gladiator movie he has a history of making really great movies sort of okay movies and not great movies and that doesn't really matter to me you know what I mean like we're allowed to fail as artists and I do believe that every artist should always take big swings and try to make something that could potentially impact or you know hit a foul ball whatever the I'm looking forward to seeing Gladiator 2 simply because Ridley Scott is returning to that world again this isn't about ascending or descending but the next movie along with the earlier one that I mentioned furiosa is definitely in my top three and that is Nas feratu Robert Edgars is making another film there's nothing in his filmography that would lead me to think that there is not something to appreciate in this movie at the very least ight shamalan has a new film coming out called trap there is no release date for it but I like the idea of it being set at a concert he's really just talked about that and that it's a psychological thriller so I don't know that's all I need to know I will be there I don't even want to see a trailer I just want to go to the theater and experience whatever it is long legs is a serial killer movie with Nicholas Cage you know what I mean that's that's it I'm there juror number two is directed by Clint Eastwood and it's a movie about a juror who's got some doubts or something I'm assuming it's not all in one room otherwise it would be like another movie that's very famous and great but this one seems like from the set photos that it's probably going to go outside of the courtroom and there's going to be probably multiple days of deliberations I'm assuming but the cast is insane Maxine starring m a goth is apparently a Trilogy closer for x and pearl both films I very much liked Pearl even more so so I hope Tai West brings this one home Hitman starring Glenn Powell directed by Richard link later had a big success at some festivals recently I don't know anything about the movie except for of course it's probably about a Hitman and Glenn Powell is charming and a very good actor and that's enough for me Havoc is directed by Gareth Evans The Man Behind The Raid 1 and two and stars Tom Hardy Timothy olifant Forest Whitaker the film was shot in 2021 and reports have suggested that it will come out this year based off of Evans filmography Tom Hardy's involvement Timothy alfon Forest Whitaker I obviously want to see the movie and I'm very curious about the very long post-production process and what the reason behind that is kinds of kindness is apparently an already shot Yos Lanos movie with Emma Stone again and they are currently in the middle of a giant Awards season run with poor things megalopolis or however you say it is directed by Francis Ford Copa and is a giant movie with a huge cast I've heard all different kinds of things about this production similar to the stories you hear about Apocalypse Now that it was just this giant bloated insane event and just the idea of Copa directing a big movie like that again after doing a lot of Indies over the years has me excited but I'm also going to want to watch anything he makes last but not least there's this other movie coming out this year called um I think it Shelby something I don't know I might see it truthfully I've seen it about 500 times at this point but uh we are in a really good place with the movie it's basically done now we've actually been able to do our ADR and we're in those like final tweaks it's closing up shop and we're looking at festivals so this year I'll finally be able to share it with you which I'm just ecstatic about and hopefully jump start my career to be able to continue to focus on film making and supporting and loving movies which which is what I want to do it's in me now to just want to be supportive of filmmakers and try to make movies uh and continue to do it and there's really nothing like it for me it's just the greatest feeling to be involved in film and I can't wait to continue to share that with you guys also I started a letter boxed you can uh follow me or whatever I don't really talk about movies that much on there I kind of just log movies it's not meant to be like a place to interact you know for me anyway I just sort of like hey I saw this or whatever it's positivity only I'm not going to rate anything below four stars it's a fun platform I might write a little more on it in the future I don't know for now it's just kind of just something I'm having fun with logging movies I watch I watch a lot of movies with my kids and so you'll see some of that on there but um yeah I don't know the link is in the description give me a follow if you want if you don't I don't care it's fine I'm not really going to use it all that much I don't think anyway guys those are my most anticipated movies of 2024 once again thank you for joining me on this channel for another year and I can't wait to continue to talk about films in the future look forward to more videos very soon and as always if you like this you can click right here and get stuck [Music] minized
