who would win in an epic battle between Superman and the Hulk who would win in a tense brawl between my dad and yours there are some iconic battles that will sadly never happen in real life but we can have fun theorizing about and one of those has to be the king of the Sharks versus the king of the giant underwater lizard things its Mosasaurus versus Megalodon who would win before we begin make sure to hit the like button subscribe to our Channel and click the notification bell for more amazing videos every day with that being said let's begin Mozza soros 1 is the most notorious shark of them all the other is the scenery-chewing underwater behemoth of the dinosaurs that was thrown into the public eye with its guest spot in Jurassic world one came head-to-head against Jason Statham and Rainn Wilson in cinematic event the Meg one dominated the oceans worldwide roughly 70 million years ago it's the underwater fight of the century it's the biggest showdown to take place beneath the ocean surface since Aquaman and Namor fought over who got to date Ariel blissfully unaware that she had shacked up with the mermaid from the Starbucks logo first up in the red corner entering the underwater metaphorical ring is the one the only Mosasaurus you know him best from the iconic shark eating scene from 2015's Jurassic world this is one beast with one heck of a bite a carnivore that inhabited Europe and North America during the Cretaceous period its fossils have been found in places ranging from South Carolina to Alabama this is one underwater dinosaur who really got around if you were unfortunate enough to live under the sea way back in the day there's no doubt you were terrified of these things the Mosasaurus was big we're talking really big growing to over 50 feet long that's 14 feet longer than an average yellow school bus and they weren't just long either own the Mazda source is a heavyweight champion if we ever did see one coming in at a whopping 28 tons that's three times heavier than a Tyrannosaurus Rex five and a half times heavier than a hippopotamus and thirty billion times as heavy as a grain of sugar simply put they could pack a punch well if they had fists they could but what they lacked in fists they made a full with some of the most infamous flippers among all aquatic reptiles those things had a shamelessly jaw braking slap that could make the slapping sequence from airplane look like child's play however their size is a little misleading most of the Mazda sources length was its tail this is a good and a bad thing with so much of its body being tail the Mazda Soros lacked the muscle mass required to really take on Megalodon as we'll soon find out those things were kind of big if it's a straight up wrestle the daddy of sharks may have it in the bag but let us not forget tactics having that much tail does give the Mazda source one distinct advantage it is significantly more agile it could duck and weave around a megalodons attacks sometimes a good defense is just as key as a good offense who cares that the enemy is more powerful when you're an expert at avoiding their swipes and when it does manage to get a bite in the Mosel exactly be shy about taking a bite at Megalodon these carnivorous monstrosity 'z were not exactly fussy when it came to dinnertime they would eat any poor creature that was unlucky enough to cross their path fish they'd eat them plesio soros they'd eat them even another Mosasaurus they'd eat them the Mazda Soros was not above dabbling in some light cannibalism purely for the sake of it so you can be sure they would have no problem getting their teeth into a Megalodon and with a bite force of sixteen thousand it would be one heck of a bite their jaws were armed with 40 to 50 conical teeth the teeth were massive the teeth were sharp these teeth meant business they'd sliced through you like a hot knife in butter with the pipe being Mazo sources main method of attack what damage could they actually do to a Megalodon much like modern-day snakes this jaw was double-hinged no time to mess around the maza source could swallow a meal nearly whole if the Mosasaurus sets its sights on you at least you know it won't toy with you like a cat if you're going down you're going down fast because of this behavior unchewed prey has been identified in some fossil remains of mosasaurs imagine that being your final resting place fully preserved within the guts of an aquatic dinosaur is that how this fight ends with us finding an almost whole Megalodon fossilized within the guts of a maza soros given the size of the Megalodon and more on that when he swims into the ring in a second it seems an unlikely turn of events but given how fast and how nimble it is could the Mazda source spring a surprise attack on the Megalodon could it then use its unhinged jaw and super strong teeth to swallow up at least a sizable chunk of the Mega Shark if not the whole thing if you take the time to freeze-frame the footage from Jurassic world you'll notice something interesting something that will no doubt give dentists a heart attack brace yourself this makes vampires look like toddlers there are two extra rows of teeth inside the Mosel did some hollywood concept artists make that up in order to make this dino even more terrifying than it already was or was it perhaps a CGI mistake maybe it's creative license from the film's director and not something we should take seriously no the Mazda source actually had an extra set of teeth like that to be bitten by one would be to get bitten twice over all at once but it had a weakness oh yes the kryptonite to its Superman the tax scandal - it's out Capone the Mazda source was a slave to oxygen Mosasaurus was a reptile and like all other reptiles it had to breathe air so what would need to come up to the surface now and again to fill its lungs with oxygen if the Megalodon was sneaky enough it could lure the Mazda source deep into the depths of the ocean prompting the poor beast into drowning Megalodon and what's a fight without an opponent it's a sandwich without bread in the corner of no color because we ran out of paint its Megalodon you know this legend well step aside Nana this is the real king shark the largest of the sharks the largest of all fish its name literally means giant tooth experts don't even know for sure how large the Megalodon could get but based on the teeth and vertebrae they have found their estimations are sizable to say the least this bulky torpedo shaped fish with its conical snout large pectoral and dorsal fins and strong crescent-shaped tail was estimated to be as long as 33 feet on average though the largest known was pushing 60 feet weight-wise the scientists believe the Megalodon ranged from 30 to 65 metric tons with the females being potentially even heavier to compare this size the largest modern great white sharks max out at around 23 feet and 3 and a half tons this makes the Megalodon nearly 3 times as long and 20 times as heavy as the great white shark the megalodons massive size also Dorf that of the large extinct marine reptiles like the Mosasaurus tylosaurus and Liopleurodon on a weight basis because shark skeletons are made of cartilage that doesn't fossilize easily scientists just have the teeth to go on when estimating maximum size this has caused a wide range of maximum sizes to be proposed over the years depending on the methodology used but most scientifically accepted maximum sizes fall in the 50 to 60 foot range like the maza soars before it Megalodon is longer than war and peace' and heavier than well-worn piece and like Mosasaurus before it its weapon of choice is its deadly chompers Megalodon teeth are similar to those of modern white sharks and that they are triangular serrated and symmetrical they differ from modern white shark teeth in that they are larger and thicker the serrations on each tooth occur in regular intervals and they possess a bur led a darker Chevron shaped region near the tooths root the largest extant Megalodon tooth measures 17.8 centimeters six point nine inches in length almost three times longer than those of modern white sharks which are typically about 5.4 centimeters 2.1 inches long in addition Megalodon possessed a ferocious bite its bite diameter was three meters about nine point eight feet several times larger than the bite diameter of average-sized white sharks the largest verifiable Megalodon tooth is a seven point four eight inch tooth found near Asuka J Peru compare that to the great white shark whose teeth reached a maximum size of under three inches in the largest individuals reconstructions of the Megalodon jaw suggest that it may have been up to seven feet across yikes the Megalodon is believed to have had the most powerful bite of any animal and it's not even close computer models estimate the megalodons bite force between twenty four thousand and forty thousand pounds ten thousand nine hundred to eighteen thousand one hundred kilograms this is six to ten times that of the great white shark and modern crocodiles this is also two to three times that of the estimated bite force of twelve thousand eight hundred pounds for t-rex and the large Mosasaurus but while the Mosasaurus was rather liberal with its diet choosing to eat anything that crossed its path even going a wee bit hannibal lecter the Megalodon had a more refined palate it chose to dine on whales mostly including baleen whales and toothed whales this makes clear the Megalodon was up for a challenge these whales were the ancestral forms of sperm and killer whales if Megalodon was willing to go toe-to-toe with those it could most possibly hold its own against the Mosasaurus the question is with its fussier taste buds would it want to and if not what Megalodon have to employ another fighting tactic if it's not willing to play dirty and bite if it did choose to bite Mosasaurus in the ring it may just be the winner it's bite pressure per square inch is theorized to have been in the multiple tonnage range some paleontologists theorized that this thing could have even been in a whale in half in one single bite but like we say would Megalodon bite in fact would it fight at all ironically given the reputation as one of the most terrifying animals in the known world sharks aren't all that keen on a tough fight they're for the most our ambush predators they don't want a challenge the Megalodon was probably much the same if it were to throw its weight around it may just be the winner but if it's descendants in the shark kingdom are anything to go by it's fighting tactic may just be to hide around the corner with Megalodon hiding and Mosasaurus ducking and weaving we may just have the world's most defensive fight on our hands all shield no sword as it were so who do you think would win this battle and why are you in the Mazda source team are in the Megalodon team let us know in the comments below see you in the next battle you
