where there's simply no place like this place anywhere near this place you're in this morning the right place listen with the light of the lord has blessed you all and out of all the folk in the world that he woke up he woke us up just on time and we've come for no other purpose and to tell him thank you for being on god like that maybe a mighty good god this morning [Applause] so i'm delighted to be able to be in this house on today listen we're going to have a spiritually wonderful time this morning for those who are of you who are listening and who are following us online we welcome you again into our sanctuary and say to you that we're glad to have you with us there's some folks who've been with us the whole time we've been online and we've called them uh north peoria members at large virtual members that they've been supporting and giving stuff we appreciate you so much for tuning in on today we are fortunate to have two song leaders on today uh one of them is the new preacher for the church of christ down in montgomery alabama uh he'll take his pulpit on the first sunday in october and uh he is now their new evangelist and we're glad to have him today uh for his last visit here in tulsa and so he'll be here today to get a chance to visit with him on the way out on today and so get your minds ready get your hearts ready and i came to worship this day uh to worship god i came with jesus on my mind i came as this folks said to get my praise off and ain't no party like a holy ghost party because the holy ghost party don't stop is that right all right didn't have chickens today back in school and so we got another base today so we're gonna have three singers here today we're really talking to us but we have songs and hymns and spiritual so get [Music] good morning our scripture is selected from psalm 64 beginning in the first verse psalm 61 hear my quiet attended to my prayer from the end of the earth will i cry unto thee when my heart is lit waiting lead me to the rock that is higher than mine for thou hast been a shelter for me and a strong time from the enemy i will abide in that talent now forever i will trust in the cover of thy weakness uh that's all about my prayer heavenly father we approached your throne this morning humbly right humbly now what a privilege it is to come to you in prayer so thankful so thankful so thankful for the blessings you lay upon us we cannot begin to name them today we thank you we really love you father really be with those that are sick pray that their sufferings and their pains may be eased as to be with those that have lost loved ones remember the chat family independent family [Music] and there are so many others fathers we just ask to bless us will continue to be upon them we ask forgiveness of sin great father that we will continue to follow you listen to your directions and do what you would have us to do he would brother blame me bless him strengthen him give him the things that he need in this life and may he live alone be with us all this morning be with us through the week for this is our prayer we pray we ask these things in your name your son's name amen i'm lord has made i don't know about you i don't need this to rejoice i'll reduce it because like i don't want two good legs nobody had to really fix bones stuff this morning i had to fix my own stuff what a blessing that is you know what you didn't have to worry about gonna help get you dressed you were able to put your own clothes on you would eat your own food drive your own self what a blessing i see a man yeah ain't nobody like we're done yet i just thought y'all got happy man the lord is still working in this place i want to make these two quick announcements and then uh we're gonna run and tell that yeah yeah yeah we're gonna run until right i do want to take just a moment of your time to say that uh jesse moore who is attends here and attends also at virgin street jesse called earlier this week and she was diagnosed with what possibly is a life-threatening cancer and so she wanted me to let you all know that you you need to pray with her and pray for her god has the ultimate answer to all of those things we don't determine it even doctors don't determine that god does and so i told jesse as she asked me to announce to you that this church will be praying for her as she begins chemo and start to fight the cancer and if god says yes nobody nobody can say no and so we're going to be praying for her and she asks that you pray for her and the family then sister asbury has been on the sickness she's going through some chemo treatments herself and sister ashbury loves to conversate and the family's asking that you not conversate with her because she will conversate all day so uh she needs to be getting rest and she's dealing with kim oh and she shouldn't be doing as much as she is doing and so we do ask that you pray for sister ashbury that god will heal her body we do know that she's active and likes to go on to come to church this morning i understand uh and of course her her all of her body is fighting and so she's not able to get in public really right now so do pray for sister asbury that she'll listen to her children amen i got very few eggplants there's some old folk in here let you listen to her children listen to your children sometimes you you think i'm the mom i'm the daddy have y'all heard this before y'all say hello i'm your mom you steal my sick mother i have one in tuscaloosa y'all pray for me pray for me in jesus name i'm working on being a nice old man so i don't give them the problems that my folks have been giving me amen so work on being nice and so again pray for those two individuals we're going to give credit for the church is over for both sister ashbury for we got one more song from him uh and after he does that then i'll come with the word of god get ready turn to colossians uh and be there waiting on me this morning and you don't have to worry about it get your bibles out and turn the colossians chapter uh brother connection gallicans chapter five and i'll be there in just a moment [Music] [Music] [Applause] remember to keep sister celeste thompson she lost her sister keep hearing your prayers we have had so much death in the last a year here at this church with loved ones and members of this church and members so again keep celeste thompson who lost her sister of your prayers also keep frank and connie anderson in your prayers as well we believe that the prayers of the righteous available i believe that when folks who love god go on their knees then things happen in heaven and it affect those things that happen on earth so let's take a moment now since we have so many requests uh the folks who are sick and those who have lost loved ones let's take a moment uh and bishop mothers would you come and just lead us to the throne of god and pray for uh jesse and for sister asbury and for sister celeste and for cunning and frank anderson and for all of those who have asked that we pray for it with them please pray father we come to be once again thanksgiving in our hearts accompanying you father we know that you're the author the finish of our faith and then you we created you brother we believe in you and trust you daily father we thank you father for the things you have done for us but father even sometimes bad things may happen but we know you're still in control father this time i'm praying for jesse that you would be your first after heard the way that you can hide she's still your child still she know what's going to happen to her you will take her because she should check yeah father we pray for the ones that lost love celeste will fall lost be with her i don't want to hurt your father's father who deals with the loss of this pandemic non-advantageous through whatever diseases that we have to deal with just be with them father be with your sickness father wants to be hurt the ones that have surgery be with him in a very special way one thing we can do is ask you about that's all [Music] smile on me oh [Music] [Music] is [Music] i want you to think about this song as we say this morning my god [Music] early this morning one of us stood asleep tossing and turning in my bed he watched over me all night long i know i know that god nobody would help smile oh [Music] like me [Music] but right now right now i see tell somebody [Music] i know i know that even if you lost somebody this week like kathy has and others in the midst of it you ought to be able to see god [Music] a light to my panties [Music] the lord is to you oh the lord what to mean the lord is my oh my heart with [Music] [Applause] oh [Music] [Music] i'm no gods stay right there i know i know i know i know thank you lord thank you lord thank you lord i'm only here this morning because you've been good i woke up every day this week cause you've been good my children are in church this morning because you've been good an overheaded woman is still alive because you've been good i'm still able to move and have my way because [Music] because you've been good you've kept me all night long and woke nobody like you lord i come to tell you [Music] thank you lord thank you you 5 is where i'm going to be in just a moment i want to take a moment before i get there because you're going to help me when i do the first part of this sermon i'm going to have joint participation from you but i want to take a moment and say to jonathan that he came to us in a time of pandemic he came in january of 20 and we went out we met here for january and february of 20. and then all of us everything came to halt and then march of 20 we went out of church and we were not able to get back until june of this year all during that time we fed literally thousands of people and jonathan was instrumental with the food bank and helping to feed literally thousands of folks who would not have gotten fed were not for the innovativeness of him and the food bank and others so many folk were not hungry because of this innovativeness and then we went out and some of you got uh wondering what we were going to do and so we did not have an online presence we were not online for those of you listening and watching now you know that in 19 we were not online we were still in the building and we're still doing in personal worship but then we needed to have a way to reach you all to be able to uh take the gospel to you so you could feel the presence of god on sunday mornings and so all of us met then for the whole time y'all were out we were in uh we never stopped worship because we're bringing worship to you all right and through the process of that these were on the front uh and jonathan became acquainted and he said let's get a team of guys and let's just praise god he was instrumental in getting uh this group of people together to sing so we could edify open domini we could build you up on sunday mornings and so he helped to put this team together to praise god and so the praise team is largely credited with what he has done to make sure worship was what it needed to be and so we thank him for that and so many other things that he was able to contribute out of church and we appreciate his contribution for all the work that was done his health and things that were done during the time of the pandemic we salute him now as he goes to montgomery alabama to the historic city my home state of alabama and he becomes now the pulpit minister for the south side church with the legendary kk mitchell my favorite preacher of all time i would rather hear him preach than almost to sit at my favorite meal just to hear him articulate from the word of god and to uh give his perspective on the text was the blessing of mine and so he'll be matriculating at that building where my preacher used to be and so we wish him well and so again we'll have him at the door uh as you go out today to bless him if you choose to do so uh we appreciate certainly the contribution he has made to the north peoria church of christ amen now as we read this text i want to get you to participate in a moment with me uh galatians is an interesting book written by the apostle paul it is somewhat of a political book it's a political book because he defends his apostleship there were those who say that he was not a true apostle but paul says i've never been an apostle like everybody else i was chosen out of new season but i am no less than part than peter or anybody else and so it's the political book that he defends himself then he talks about the flesh and he talked about teachers that were contrary to the word of god and let me tell you now that we have a number of people who went but god didn't send me we have a lot of folk out there teaching stuff that does not say anything that god says and so paul warns them concerning false teaching in galileans chapter five he warns them about the flesh this flush of our flesh of ours this flesh of ours wants what it wants when it holds it anybody in here know that all right just stay with me i'll be there and then he says the only way to come back the fleshly side of life is to have the spirit of god living in you and so the spirit of god is indwelling in us today now how does the spirit of god end willing us now he involves in us through this book called the bible now he says if then you're living in a world where you're troubled how do you keep from being troubled by having something stronger on the inside than what's on the outside all right he said how do you do that guys versus number twenty uh two let's read a little bit there and join me uh and i'll go through that in a minute i can come back to you guys five and verse number 22 the bible says but the fruit of the spirit praise god is love joy peace long suffering gentleness goodness faith then he said in verse 23 meekness temples against such there is no law wednesday night i dealt with a section of my lesson on peace and how to have peace in a troubled world and that's really the title of my lesson today so how then with everything going on in our lives and each of our lives are different each one of us that walk through the door got something a little different from the other one going on in our lives are y'all with me each one of us has a little different liberal value it's a little bit more vital so each one of us is different this system the one thing this brother's been through one thing that's good this brother would have been through something else y'all can live in the same house and have different stuff happen during the week all right in fact one thing can happen everybody take it different ways when death happens one sister will take it this way one brother take it this way depends on the closest they were to the individual so we need something in this world to bring peace to us and i got a number of people inbox me and say i like the lesson and the part you did on peace and so with a little bit more on peace today and how you get peace in the troubled world now as i give these i want y'all to y'all answer these whatever you can if you know the answer and i'm gonna tell you at the end you just just shout it out now if you know just as loud as you can if you don't answer any one of these have you ever heard somebody say i'm about ready to throw in [Music] y'all know the answer somebody else says i'm at the end of mine someone else says i'm just a bundle of someone else has said my life is simply falling y'all gonna miss one here someone else says i am at my wits now if you know the answers to all of those what you have dealt with in your life is stress anybody ever been stressed anybody got some stress going on now everybody got something going on in your life that you can't quite get the handle on i mean listen it takes a while if ever to get the handle on some stuff that happens to you my father passed 206. he was my buddy he was my friend he's my confidante he was my conversation person he was individual i could always talk to about anything didn't judge me love me anyway he was that kind of dad we go down to that little house out in the back and we could sit down there for hours and talk about mother and everybody else all right we had that kind of relationship and my dad left this world when i sort of always remained and getting remarked i knew then that i had lost perhaps the best friend that i'm ever going to encounter in life and i stood there and as the tears rose for a while they were not so much tears for him sometimes as they were tears for me because i knew he was in the hands of a god that he preached for and did the best he could all of his life i wasn't worried about him i knew i was left behind anybody ever felt like that so i knew it was nothing that i would get over when somebody get over it how you get over your dead now you never get over it you get through and you only get through it day by day by day and now it's been 120 days every now and then you still go back it's been 10 years every now and then you still go back in your mind so you never get over it you'll get true and you need some help to get through it can't do it by yourself stress if you don't get a handle on it we'll kill you y'all there nearly 3 000 years ago stopman wrote this like who you want me in a minute nearly 3 000 years ago they had stretched 3 000 years ago solomon wrote this in a different version in proverbs 14 and verse 30. he says this he says a sound mind makes for a robust body but runaway emotions corrode the bones a sound mind makes for a robust body did y'all hear that did i hear that but runaway emotions will corrode your bones hallelujah the lord says a lot about stress there are three kinds of peace that we need this is not really the sermon this is just introduction we need three kinds of peace in this world number one we need spiritual peace spiritual peace what is spiritual peace i'm glad y'all asked spiritual peace is knowing that i'm all right with god and that god is all right for me is that a blessing to your life spiritual peace says i may mess up i'm not all i need to be sometimes i'm less than what i need to be god still loves you and god ain't mad at me god ain't gonna hold nothing i've done against you all right god's not gonna hold any conversation i had with anybody even though it was not a good conversation god does not hold that conversation against me y'all don't hear me i may have said words that i really shouldn't have said i may have done things and i really shouldn't have done but i'm glad that god does not hold it against me he still loves me and he still lets me talk to him he still blesses me he still lets me live every day i let peace with him and he is at peace with me it's only when you think that god doesn't love you like that anymore that you got stressed y'all here now how can you feel like you're all right when you mess up how in the world can you feel good about the stuff you did last week and said last week if you know what right don't you know god ain't happening with you let me tell you how i feel but aren't you glad i got some news for you all right i got some news for you how then can i do it romans 5 and verse number one i'm glad he wrote romans 5 1. i'm going to teach a little bit this morning so when you messed up this week and when you when you when you let god down and you think god's marriage remember romans 5 and verse number one all right you want to hold this dear to your heart those of you who are who are listening by the broadcast and you think god is disappointed in you and you've been letting god down because you ain't been all right all week you ain't done everything just right remember romans 5 1. am i talking to anybody in he says therefore having been justified by faith we have peace oh look at that word we have what peace with whom [Music] through our lord jesus christ now blatantly how does that help me i don't understand that it says therefore having been justified by faith let me tell you how you can feel good when you mess up because god doesn't see you god doesn't see you what do you mean he doesn't see me i did it i said i said god doesn't see you i thought god saw everything you missed me when i messed up god sees the blood of your son jesus christ which covers me oh that blessed me what i got to read y'all give me if god saw me in my sinful self he'd have to kill me [Music] the wages of sin is death god if he saw the ugliness that i do and say god would kill me and i would never have gotten up but when god looked at me he couldn't see me in the filthiness that i have because he only could see the blood of his dead son and his like son [Applause] if we walk in the light as he is in the light we have fellowship one with another and bishop the blood of jesus christ cleansed it that's why you got no business trying to send somebody else to here stop looking at me and my unrighteousness and my filthy self and try and send me to hell worry about where you going [Applause] i've been justified what does justification mean it means the crime must be paid for barry if a crime is committed somebody got to pay for it but since i didn't have what it took to pay somebody paid somebody paid it for me and that person was jesus he came through 42 generations suffered bled and died on countless cross to pay my debt so when i'm in this sinful world under this flesh and i struggle is there anybody that struggles from time to time am i talking to a bunch of righteous folk who got wings on their back if it is y'all gonna be this pissed all you it for ain't never done that wrong what i have to do now this sermon for y'all but if you like me and every once in a while customer just rise up it may not come out but it sure will rise up y'all never had one rise up i didn't ask you to come out did it rise up [Applause] in video man you ever had one rise up [Applause] [Music] i need i need to know i'm okay with god and i need to know god is okay with me that's why i walk the way i walk that's why i get to where i am because i know i don't i don't have to guess i know god is okay with you you may not be okay with me that's your business and i stopped a long time ago brenda trying to make everybody in this church okay because i don't care what you do how well you do it how often you try i don't care at all somebody sitting right in this church ain't okay with you so long as i'm justified by faith as long as i'm washed in his blood as long as i try every day when i fall get up again god is all right with me y'all all right you need a spiritual peace i can't get you down but this is probably next week i know all these spiritual peace number two i need emotional peace huh now the first one is necessary because you can't get the second one if the first one's messed up if you ain't all right with god you ain't gonna never have the most of jesus now emotional peace is that that piece we were talking about wednesday night where it is uh you can say i got an internal sense of calmness internally i'm calm life is happening but even though life is happening internally i'm still okay i'm not out of control i ain't trying to shoot nobody ain't trying to have nobody arrested ain't trying to beat nobody up ain't trying to cuss nobody out i know a lot of stuff's going on but internally internally emotionally i'm okay anybody then would you like you missed this let me give you a passage to help you understand okay now when you have peace with god then you can get the peace of god when you have peace with him then there is a peace that he will give you huh and the world doesn't understand that peace colossians 3 15. the bible says let the peace of christ rule in your hearts to which indeed you were called in one body and be thankful now now now when you're in the body of christ you can have the peace of christ when you're not in christ it's hard to have that kind of peace the greek word translated rule here in this text you see that it's only used one time in the bible and the word here in this text means to occupy it minister online what does the vampire do he keeps peace he makes sure the game is played in a smooth order huh god wants to give you an internal umpire who will keep you in peace even when life is chaotic [Music] who make the cause he keeps peace in my life because when i got baptized to make a real sense when i got baptized there the gifts of the spirit of galatians 5 only comes to those who've been put in that wall all right you'll get it then what god does is give me something the third person in the godhead singer who preached at the moment that third person in the godhead secret is the holy ghost the holy spirit you can't see him you can't touch it but you can feel it have you ever been in church and a soul move y'all been in church and the lesson moved and when you get moved isn't there a certain kind of feeling that you get preaching yeah you haven't moved to church somebody had never been moved and that feeling is compelling isn't it sometimes you didn't intend on saying amen but your mouth came on [Applause] and that north peoria sometimes you didn't think you were gonna stand up but that song that's so good you can help yourself that's the holy spirit that moves inside of us you can't see him you can't touch it but every once in a while you can feel it moving huh well then how do i get it i'm glad you asked me how do i get that how do i get that stuff which which which which helps me well you got to be in the body of christ if you're not in the body of christ you won't get that kind of peace um if you ain't saved you don't get that kind of gospel you don't get the umpire who make things smooth all right then then the number three and i probably still because i actually got into this i got five points on how to get pizzas and do that next week but the other is not only do i need that first piece and do i need emotional peace i need relational peace you all steal it i i need relational peace well blackman i'm glad you told me so what is relation to peace i need emotional peace i need the peace with god and i need relational peace what is that romans 12 verse number 18. if possible if possible if possible be at peace with all me yeah gospel are y'all writing scriptures down i'm gonna be good for you if possible this is my relational piece impossible if it ever possible byron be at peace without me but all of us in here know when i get y'all know that right that's why he gave it suppositional if possible be at peace without me i've been living in my same house in my same neighborhood for 25 years 25 years projection same house the neighbor director in front of me has been in his house for 25 years now every time i walk out the door he has to be of a different persuasion than my pigmentation pigmentation wise these different persuasions every time i actually walk out the door if he happens to seek me before i see him now the devil in me i know y'all don't have any of it in most times i leave him alone because that's his indication that he does not want to talk to me now most times the god in me will say okay but every once in a while the devil in me tommy turned his back i said hey now how you doing and then he act like you don't see me i don't like that war in the commercial i just talk like [Applause] anybody with me now i want to have relational peace with him he doesn't want to have relational peace with me so what do we do how do i get relational peace jesus said in john 14 27 peace i leave with you and then he says something that's special he says my peace i give to you not as the world gives do i give it to you in other words my peace is not like the peace that you get in the world donald trump has a different kind of peace tonight donald trump has a peace that politics power and money can buy but the peace i have is the peace of god and you don't have to have a doubt he says i give it to you then my virgin says this way peace i leave with you and it's perfect did you hear that it's perfect peace do not let your heart be troubled don't let it be afraid let my peace calm you in every circumstance let it give you courage and strength for every challenge when you have peace that god gives you you can have relation to peace because there's something in it now as i close this out i don't want to get to the other parts i notice that god peace is not related to circumstances or situations god peace allows us to be tranquil in the middle of my truck so how do i get this piece i first of all have to realize i've got to do what god tells me to do that's number one i gotta i gotta obey god now obeying god as i close is not easy because god says some tough stuff are y'all wearing some of the tough stuff that god said god really can say some things that make it really tough in this flush to do like love your enemies do you understand what that means love your enemies do good to them that despitefully use you y'all never written in the bible if you smile if you're on one cheek y'all know the bible don't you do what now you know it's hard for somebody to hit you one time you turn your face until you hit them again god says some stuff but i've learned as i close this let's give y'all a little think ain't done that i've learned that god's word is just true i've grown in my life to the point where i can take a lot more now than i could earn anybody here with this do you know that the longer you live the stronger you ought to get anybody who witnessed that i remember so many years ago when you start to preach you are reactionary because if somebody say something you say something bad but i do something you you do something back but as you grow older in christ you learn to let god handle some things for i'm gonna help somebody this morning i refuse to let somebody in the church and somebody out of the church disturb my peace when my neighbor walks down i realize that he's dealing with a long history of racism i realized that probably his daddy before him didn't like black folk his granddaddy liked it like black folk and his grandmother probably didn't like black people so i'm not going to hold his not liking me because of my pigmentation against him in fact the older i got it really don't make no difference because it's not like me doesn't take any food off my plate i'm gonna help somebody this doesn't like me does not stop me from being able to enjoy the beauty of my name he's not liking me ain't gonna make the stars not shine on me because he don't like me so i realize that it ain't about him it's really about me and i realized that the older you get the more i've learned to trust god because i've watched him do things not in your life but in my life when i'm older in christ i've watched him the way he brought me from to where he's brought me to and i'm here this morning to share with you that as i get older i look forward one day that all the way up to him blessing me with the meeting uh-huh the older you get you realize that time is beginning to draw now y'all don't like to hear that amen uh-huh but but i realized that this last birthday brought me closer to him wrecked than i was the birthday before that the closer i get to 70 years old and the study beat to 70 let me know psalms 90. psalms 90 says rescue and yeah y'all guilty psalms 90 says if you get to be seventeen you're living on grace is there anybody in here living on grace any grace levels in here anybody way in your hand if you're living on grace if you don't make psalms 90 and you're almost 70 you're living on the grace of god if you ain't got there yet you're still on your way man that's why i tell young folk be careful how you treat old folk be careful how you talk about all them i tell many of young preachers together be careful how you talk about old preachers because if you keep on living against what you're going to be see the guy from the secretary know one day was going through the graveyard he said he was reading the upper text and he said it was reading different ones and one said strangers stop as you pass by as you are now so much was i as i am now you soon shall be come on stranger and follow me amen y'all hear me but he was wise enough to write a little footnote on the tombstone and said the father you i'm not content until i know which way you went amen hello so you need to you need to be careful about how you judge others because this time keeps on ticking janet you ought to realize that at 15 and then late 40s you don't even feel the same way you need when you're in your 20s is there a witness in here some of you you're looking at me saying this everyday but some of y'all are in your 40s and you know stuff is already starting to break down on you uh-huh is there a witness in this housewife closer you don't have to wait until half a hundred calm just keep on saying good morning when you get to be a late 30s i didn't say earlier late 30s you'll notice a few things start to happen is there any thirty folk in this house you'll notice that your energy level ain't quite what it used to be you used to party over here and party overnighter you used to come home from work get out your work clothes and jump in your party clothes or get you a quick shower run under the water get ready to go out and have a party after you don't finish eight hours of work come back home jump up the next morning and ready to go to work is that right oh my people living up amen is there a witness in the house keep on living up you turned 41 and you said there's a party going on tonight you say i've worked eight hours today i've been chasing kids all day i've been digging ditches all day i'm 41 years old there's a party going on where they don't go without me i'm going home getting my shower getting my dinner and i'm going to bed anybody y'all don't hear me see anybody got a word to say and then keep on marching and you hit 60 and somebody said there's a party going on you say oh really i'm glad that what's going on i got one going on right here with me and matt dylan watching guns spoke this is my party that bring me a little that sacrifice y'all with me hello somebody saying man when you can mess around and get 70 years old and somebody say a party is going on you say huh i didn't hear you is that party going on huh a party going on oh yeah i gotta go to the party right now your confused vocabulary they didn't say party they said oh that's what it is that's for them young folk that's what i'm telling you now keep on walking with god keep on talking with god because some that morning when this life is over someday i'll march the last bit of the way up someday i'll lay down my battle scarred armor someday i'll fold up my bible someday i'm gonna take my handbook and never say another word someday i'm gonna lie and some funeral home somewhere but i know the other side of john and i got a home where the wicked will sees you troubling and the will of being arrested no more getting older no more sorrow no more pain no mobiles no more tylenol no more aspirin no more blood pressure medicine no more diabetes no more heart problems no more trouble [Applause] and i'll seen that song that's never been sown i'll get with the 420 elders get with the angels and sing the angel you watched over me all night when i was down there angels you kept the same sometimes angels you gotta be sometimes angels i heard you i wear the word but i will say i angel now i'm an angel now i'll sing with the angel sing with the son say with the father same with the holy spirit i'll sing a joyous song oh what a day oh what a day oh what a day it's going to me but i'm chilled i've got some peace i've got peace and i've learned how to get it it's only through jesus some people look at you and they say well how are you able to handle all that brother you know you had this half of that happen it's not me i wish i could take credit for it i don't have enough sense and i'm sort of not strong enough everything that happened to me that happened to you the only way you're going to get through it by way of god that's awesome lord thank you for being an awesome god when peace like a river attended my way when sorrow i've seen military lord whatever my love that has taught me to say is where with my soul thank you father for making it well with my son thank you for the peace that passeth all understanding thank you for the joy i have every moment that you'll want me one more time thank you for the peace i have when i lay down in there whatever happens in this world if i don't wake up in the morning i'm all right with you i love you father we adore you continue to hold our hand and give us that peace in jesus name in jesus name in jesus name amen there's a heart in the back of the pew if you want to get the kind of peace that i've been talking about you can simply write out on that card what you're requesting and the elders will come and collect that card this is prayer time if you want to get baptized will baptize you this morning for the reason of your sins put you in give back a portion of that which god has given us god has been good to us you know this is a this is a pleasure for me to give to god i don't know i don't know about you all but it is it's a pleasure um i don't only try and give to god on sundays i try and bless somebody every day and it looks like the more i try to bless somebody the more i give the lord keeps on giving back to me everybody have noticed that if you ever try to get right but if you're in line just pay for somebody's name just keep it going you know you don't have to tell them you know tell them just do it you see a child that needs a code in the running body you see somebody struggling blessed and i guarantee you when you bless them god will send it back in so many ways so if you want to give you want to give and you've shall be given unto you let's pray lord thank you for every giver in this audience every giver online we know father when you bless us in relationship to how we give and even if we don't give you still keep blessing but you made a promise give and it will be given to us if we give without coercion and we give because we bend this in jesus name amen have a song oh lord i've come i've come to service that my mind reflects on my role i went out about 12 30 last night after i finished some studying and i just stood in the yard and the moon was beautiful it was dark enough i could see some of the largest stars and i just stood for 15 20 minutes didn't talk to anybody and everybody talked i just looked up and i reminded of how awesome god is god is an awesome my god is this in fact one day he went to a cross that he didn't deserve he died of death that was cruel because of my sin because of my unworthiness he loved me that much they died that i might live every time i come to this part of the service is reminding of the love of god is it amazing to be loved he demonstrated this first corinthians chapter 11 verse 23 is the example of the lord's son as we take it today let's be reminded of the love of god and how much he loves us after we pray in the last jonathan to come here with communion song today let's pray together lord thank you for this bread which represents your broken body thank you for this juice which represents your shared love and as we commune today may our minds go back to calvary they will be grateful that you loved us again to die for us on the cross in jesus name amen my god is awesome he can move mountains keeps me in the valley hides me from the rain and you know my yeah and you know my god is is [Music] is [Music] is is my god [Applause] is appreciate all the love that you all have shown me here at the north field church of christ some of you took me in the meals the cookies the cake praise the lord i appreciate that i appreciate the phone calls i appreciate all of that and i appreciate you allowing me to be able to serve here at the north peoria church of christ for the time that i was here i don't take it for granted i appreciate that i've learned a lot some of you who i came in as acquaintances are now family and you know who you are uh i love all of you and i appreciate the style of sharing that i've had with the north peoria church of christ amen god bless you until we see each other again we're going to pray now for those who responded to the invitation of our lord who answered pray for these cards earlier i'm going to ask for leon thompson is he still here you know do they come in and work for the response shout out dear father in heaven will come to you this morning first of all thanking you lord for everything that you do for us thank you for this time that we can come and receive praises to you and worship the lord we ask now father that you would be with all those who responded from the cards you know who they are you know what they need we just ask you father to continue to share your grace and mercy only be merciful to all of us father thank you for your patience to us forgive us father when we sin and be with all those that have lost loved ones father in jesus christ and we pray amen a thank you card from sister amy penny that says thank you for your prayers cards and calls during such a difficult time continue to pray for me and my family especially my brother's children blessings to you sister amy i don't mean mr amy but keep all of those received another card i think from the tactics family earlier today the conscious family expressed the same sentiments for those of you who sent cards and notes during the death of their loved one ever so keep the doctors family and the petted family in your continuous presence we had two to be buried this week we had just the will of williams family let's keep the women william's family and our prayers as we move forward in the days ahead and we're going to keep the martin family uh the martin family lost loved one and the person of uh sister's grandson so let's keep that family in our prayers so much loss around us but yet god is still launching uh 121 is what we have in presence today the numbers are growing we have over 200 that's been vaccinated you know on their way back so let's pray that they get here and we all do it safely we do know the virus is very much alive it is very well going on uh doing well there are hospital beds that are not available in this in this town because of public 19. they already get a baby so again let's be careful uh let's act responsibly because we want everybody to be well i'm going to have jonathan going out if you want to bless him today and tell him thank you for his time tenure for his service that you'll be able to see him all the way out uh he'll be outside you can he goes to montgomery alabama and serves the church there um bishops were missing anything and that's what we made if not we're looking forward let's [Music] some members are still asking are y'all in the building yes we are we're just doing it in a way in a fashion that we can be safe continue to keep jesse and others in your prayers who are facing battles and facing cancer we're going to ask you now we will let's all just stand for a moment and and i'm going to pray as we as we stand and then we'll start to exit together lord thank you for such a wonderful day thank you for our worship leaders today and for the praise team and the way they have lifted you up continue to bless everyone this week keep us all safe from home protect us wrap your arms around us and father if you will bring us back next sunday at the appropriate time to once again praise your name bless those who are standing in need of prayer today keep us all in the hollow hand you can do more for us then that the world can do for us anytime we love you and we're doing it in jesus name in jesus name amen back rules you
