Monsters In The Woods... Old But Not Dead

well it's not very often you come across uh two Fiat Atlas 31 those are sitting in the woods so this is equivalent to like a cat d10 stand beside the track it's literally almost six feet tall with brand new undercarriages on them he said he has one that runs so we're gonna try to uh stop by and check it out he's got four of them to make one well these come with uh 17 foot wide blades on them huge tractors that's a dozer that is a dozer and I've been able to keep up with that 550 oh boy look at that a four inch deep grouser pads on there that's something else right there let's go see what else he has that's a dozer um you got a something to tap it with two wrenches inside when you cross over and go to that I see them over here all right look right where your feet are yeah the other battery is right here okay on the side yeah all right so we are on the Fiat that runs Maybe if not I have my trusty jump box in the truck that is not the blue one has not let me down all right let me tighten these down so they don't uh 10 24 22. so here is the Fiat Atlas 31 that does run he said he put batteries in it not too terribly long ago and had it running so we're going to hook the batteries back up see if it fires up this one's got a 17 foot wide blade on it what does this one weigh it's probably about a hundred thousand pound Dozer ain't it 80. uh 96 I believe okay and they had rippers on them but I've got the Rippers off yeah the cylinders are still back there all right so fire extinguisher yep just in case I'll let you hold that I'm gonna get the instructions on what think yep uh this plate locks your starch so come over to me and back or up and back punch forward just punch see if we that should make the starter engage neutral start break on so something's not right are we on both over here yeah now the button you don't use the button I think you just push forward but maybe the plate plate has to go back the other way to lock it in yeah to lock it in so you could start without all right hold on uh which determine where your throttle is you think that's sprotted seat let's see if the injector that's frog so pull back just a little bit too decelerated yeah don't steer to the left you plan your routes right here over here [Music] okay in case I have to repair one [Music] I laid those they were on the blade I laid them on the ground so I didn't run over them so um down there one night dark starting back up here and this track kept getting looser and looser I could see it and so I stomped and bumped it out another 50 feet it's slack again yeah and when I get up here I notice the bearing in there is gone okay so I called a guy in Greensboro that's got some of these his name is something something and we took it apart you see there that looks custom it's homemade homemade with a piece of cylinder bar yeah stuck in it but I got him to come and I had an extra idler yeah so we swapped it but it took me about a year to get it again the thing is you got it back together finally that's something else and how long has it been since you said you've probably used this I know you just you said you put batteries in it not not long ago 10 years ago it hasn't moved dirt in 10 years because there's newer stuff newer equipment where did this one come from this one came from Coshocton Ohio out of a coal mine and but the other two ones came from a coal mine too the other two came from Duke power in Charlotte okay so he's this one in the one up front where a package deal in Coshocton you buy one and get a parts Dozer [Laughter] okay they're disassembled the Transmissions Motors everything's been disassembled to keep to keep this one going the their Carriage on this is shot oh wow pins and bushings are busted through well you say the other two have got pretty much brand new undercarriage yeah and all four of these are the same correct [Music] all the same Motors same under cage what we call Earth pushing yeah 17s those had 22 foot wide blades on them this is 17 the other I'll show you the other blades but I'm gonna go back up front all right all right well let's turn the fuel off and uh disconnect the batteries for you I I wanted to push some dirt but yeah absolutely big girl I'd love for you to is you a one Robert on the other one and do what I'm talking about push dirt four foot Bridge yeah because then you're 38 feet down and that's how all these ponds got built and the ones up front our motto was upon today upon today we'll keep doc happy that was good stuff oh wow so I imagine you've earned about 300 gallons of fuel a day in this wide open runs 22 gallons an hour well it wasn't five dollars a gallon then either was it was 85 85 cents and the full tank it would run you more than a full eight hour day oh wow eight hour day that's only like a half a day part timing part-time man oh okay that was in the winter oh okay we'll blame it on the winter time yeah no what did he say did he say he said you know the lights weren't too good on these things did you cut the master off it's right there yeah turn it to the left two notches one more there you go all right he's a good reader he's not bad trained him well I can't get on this thing I thought my 977 was a pain to get on this is sure enough an accident waiting to happen don't dive off yeah you just don't leap off the side of this one by no means do on the other side oh wow all right I'm gonna get him to take a picture of me in front of the blade did it have two exhaust pipes on it or what was the second hole for I think everyone we've got only has one okay the muffler got a hole in it I had the mechanic remedy and straight piped it there it looked like we used some Pond I like the way it says we rebuilt the motor in this local mechanic did that for me yeah but believe it or not enough right oh wow well there's enough room around it there's enough room around it yeah oh my God the motor's eight feet long the radiator is about six feet square KT Cummins 1150. KT Cummins 1150. see fishing buses oh wow well let's go check out what other Hidden Treasures you have now that it's not pouring down rain so tell me about this Beast whatever this came from Williamsburg Virginia uh-huh there's the name of the uh sand plant that owned it can you read that I can't read it that's probably for their best entrance what I do love is a story you told me about when you pulled up to pay for this thing I think everybody I think everybody on YouTube would like to hear that story and uh used it wanted it for Farm use and uh The Price is Right and I wrote him to the switch or is there another button I'm thinking it was just switched but I could be wrong you see any other buttons anywhere I don't even hear a click back here I don't the light comes on though you see a push button anywhere look back further on your right side no foreign might be a dry day with a hammer and tap starter yep that might be saved for uh another day will he come out yeah right Robert you wouldn't believe how good that Lee bear ran Robert I got to get rid of my caterpillar that's 953 is a piece of junk now that I've been on that lever here believe it rakes nice damn those teeth on that bucket You're Gonna Hurt Kyle's feelings we'll wait to talk goes back to Greensboro we'll take a little boy down there and get that thing what a sweet sweet I said I can see why you don't get rid of anything Ben is that sweet or what the man with all the toys look right here and we have more stuff these are the two uh cold blades 22 feet long or wide for those two Fiats in the back so he took them off because they wouldn't fit through the wood yeah what's that oh that's a Robert special right there there's a pattern to everything look it's her what RDS Roundup is the look and see if the battery cable is hooked up yes or no all right just twist it on tight and get up there and sit I'll do the thank you this doesn't work anymore that's you're are you familiar with this tractor no okay this is that used to be the throttle choke start run but I've rigged it up here I kind of what I figured out something because the injector pump is here is stupid this is straight through yeah why would an idiot put it there and run it through California to get it up there because they're stupid and they don't use them that's they sell them but they don't use it so you're going to push this in just bump the key City wait a minute we're not we're in the danger zone now keep it going let's see if it'll start batteries cables loose Twisted which one did you put on I put that one on but this one's smart you got smoke yeah a little bit of smoke give her a little bit of go-go maybe I had to pull this out a little bit I think to throw the combination sure yes you go not today this is why I like riding around my farm always find free tools I know it's everyone that the battery's been disconnected there's a set of wrenches there and you go to the toolbox none because there's three dozen sets of them laying around on all this equipment try it again if you had some spray it would start all right before it gets dark I'm gonna peek over here so here is the fourth Fiat 31 as Matt calls him fat Alice in another Lee bear 631 Track Loader that one right there has got a problem with the transmission so I'm told but those two in the back came with the uh those two big coal blades from the power plant loves the lee bears and he's got a case 125b over there but we're not done yet they're still a lot more equipment around here we just gotta find it so long story short he built a lot of there's like 400 acres here and he's built a lot of ponds for raisin bash and bass and catfish so he is actually done an extreme amount of work with all this equipment as you can tell right here this giant hole in the ground and he also does uh pine straw with all the Longleaf so that's why everything is grown up in pine trees and they break all that up but I think there's like 18 ponds on this farm right here let's go check out some more equipment so what's the story on this one [Music] Williams who came to pool out of the the pull my tractor out of the first mud hole that got stuck in okay and I asked too many people teach me how to run it and I asked him if he would sell it to me so he went home with money and I went I stayed here with the dog you stayed here with a dozer now we're now we're getting ready to put this brand new undercarriage on it on the right the old undercarriage has been removed so we got all new sprockets rollers tracks idlers what did you use to pick this thing up and uh sit it on the ground or how did you get the tracks out from under it I had Hickory blocks under the rear back here where the draw bar is now I got you push the blade down it was blocked up with Hickory blocks away and they've rotted away I got my hand on this project okay how long has she been sitting here 2023 [Laughter] oh lordy Motors so it's got electric start now it could be or it could not be [Music] thank you and oh there's your that's only been there since 1995. [Laughter] and there are on the d8h I was told there are two by the way the maple tree goes with it maple tree goes with it uh there's motor high horsepower hour and low horsepower okay with the high horsepower was this the fuel line you were talking about okay where's the fuel bowl that cracked and broke off on the other side okay years ago because I mentioned to you before there's an identical machine to this um yep I know who you're talking about uh I have yes I have seen it [Music] is this the fuel bill over here on the right hand side yeah the fuel gravity feeds into that correct okay well we also got a uh something exciting a water hose is that the fuel line that might be the fuel line well that would definitely cause it to drain right there let's see uh we could probably hook the jump box to it and just see if it did spin over yeah I save that for a dry day [Music] yep down here I ran two more cables straight to the starter so I could put two more batteries to make it easy for cold stuff yeah exactly double in the amperage so you've been here a while got a little pedal left now it comes back it just needs a couple parts and she'd be good to go luckily all the bolts are right here where you left them right while the gorilla bars here oh wow Robert's here look Robert down there I see a piece of metal that I can't dig up that no that's marketing yeah bar if you will of the hook and hook that thing up so I don't lose it and there's one on the other side yeah there's a there's a lot of them right there [Music] there's another one right there probably you got a diagram on how this goes back together okay handwritten and crap oh boy
