MLB 20 Road to the Show - Part 31 - THE GRAND SLAM CHALLENGE

you know I really like to see this we've been putting a little bit more time into our Clubhouse into our relationships and check it out man we've got some bonuses happening at first base second base third base and the man behind the plate the legend himself Corey Lee so wow that's pretty good hopefully eventually the goal would be to have the whole team all benefiting off of each other the whole team advisin and hopefully we can keep on driving let's get it boys welcome back to the show 20 welcome back to our road to the show this is going to be Game two of a three-game series against the Angels we won the first game at the end of the last episode and this is gonna be our first really good look that's the hardest hitting difficulty in the game is we bumped it up at the very end of the last episode we had one game you can't really judge it off with one game so this should be interesting it bothered the first get a guy on first base and we're up by two and a four-seam slider curb on a changeup trying to wait on that foreseen we waited a little bit too long there okay ninety 93 miles an hour on that fastball there that's not very quick gonna have to be very patient here today I think he needs to rely a little bit late on that as well good a swing just a tad bit earlier not too much but just a tad behind and he kind of nibbles around the strikes it's outside one-two count here Matty be cut ourselves backed into a corner but we're gonna slowly but surely stuff you tend to be crawl our way back out that's outside suit suits count side up slider that time and he draws even a two in blue this guy half-greek most confidence in his curveball to slide I seen any of those breaking balls woohoo that four seam dude i man I really want that but we're just late on it we're gonna get out in front of that thing we're we underneath that I felt like our timing was better yeah we were just we're just underneath it alright here we go come on Trev another 2 2 offering checks starting to go 3 2 count full count maybe for space my goodness he's gonna be coming in hot with the four-seam I'm calling it oh my gosh Trev you don't swing it those man that was way up in the zone that was a free pass to the base come on dude it was the four seem to it man I mean we did hit it to deep center so we can't be too upset about that but it just would have been nice to have that one back he's right if we could turn to here we're gonna hold him to a one-run lead let's make it happen too it's gonna be going too short and too short should be an easy set of plays there we go good job boys bottom of the fourth we're gonna be leading off the home half the inning we're down by two four-seam slider curveball changeup went deep is Lance can I be certainly just missed it with this got slow power he's feeling pretty good at hopefully we don't have a nine pitch at-bat this time around I'd like to like to keep it a little a little less intense oh so good about that one go go go no dang it it's gonna get back and I'll put this one on Weiss straight to sinner dude we're getting Sommers down some good contact there just didn't didn't quite quite make it out of the park there that warning track power man I'm telling it like again it one game is probably not enough to judge it off of but the last game of the last episode when we had the legend difficulty on it like honestly we didn't we didn't do very well and we're not doing very well here I don't want to get it in my head you know what I mean like I don't want to placebo it but it kind of feels like it's tougher than we expected that's gonna be a high four seam not even close just tried to do too much with that also gonna have to watch out for that curve ball threw it a little bit that's pretty much the case when you're airmail a fastball like that come on man what do these have to go please please please please yes that's what I'm talking about oh dude I was worried we were gonna have that that home run power anymore but we got it baby that's what I'm talking about dude that is fantastic oh that is such a big leave a big relief to start with the numero uno no you know if we start the heater being a little less consistent I'm fine with that it's gonna make the series more interesting you know what I mean like I'd rather have a harder time and be able to sometimes make plays than just consistently hit it out of the park like we have been it makes it feel so much more worth it you know what I mean I'm so much more satisfied all right here we go we got a one-run lead bottom of the seventh gotta got off and the indication from the dugout comes it looks like they're gonna put him on intentionally imagine being that much of a puss drew Mendoza 3 2 count here man this is this is rough I really hope he doesn't ground out and do a double play ooh no that's gonna hit the gap Wow why did they not throw it to first that would have been a free out dude oh my goodness sweet we just got bailed out right there that should have been a double play on us I didn't think he was going to be able to catch that are you kidding me right now you know I'm taking off it's an effort like that we'll see what happens here it looks like he's gonna pop up the right field but we're just gonna keep on running we're gonna hope for a drop and it's not gonna happen got a one-run lead just gotta play some defense fellas this is ours to lose it looks like that's not gonna happen good stuff here we go fellas we've got the Yankees coming to town and they've got a got a pretty good looking squad I'm not gonna lie there I think 23 and 14 24 and 13 something like that so they've got a pretty good record not quite as good as ours but they're definitely having a good season and they're definitely gonna be an opponent to watch out for so here we go you know let's get after it let's try to get an early lead actually they've got an early lead but we can change that right now contact swing to drive in a run oh I don't want to contact swing you know Joe starts turning around I think I've just got a normal swing we're gonna we're gonna forget about the challenge forcing cutter knuckle curve to changeup has a look now the pitch sends the outside force seen gonna be late and that just wasn't a good pitch to swing at cell it was not a good first look for sure round selection back in the 2010 first year plants outside to be able to lay off that one little round you have to grind for every come on baby here we go every pitch counts and he's got two men on two men out a solid big league we needed something big here thank you get started here they've had it going the last 10 games they're seven and I thought that might have had us at our foot but no it the the catchers foot I think here we go got a 2-1 lead in the count the scent and the two one that's gonna be a fantastic pitch on that lower outside corner right there two - all tied up for this we've got a swing of this closely Valentine behind the dish tonight that's outside he's hitting that spot pretty consistently is it ain't me really favors a power pitcher I'm full count pitch at about the chest level and above he'll call that high strike zone that's what I'm talking about baby and that is why we don't contact swing it's because I like having a bit more power I'm not looking for singles or anything we're gonna end up failing that challenge but we are gonna be able to put our team up three two one that is exactly what I was hoping for it took us a minute to get there we had to go through quite a few pitches we had to stay patient and wait for the right one but we're able to make it happen there we go baby great starts the game the designated hitter to play a little defense here looks like it's going to be coming at us got it oh look at that fielding Oh beautiful hold on a second and bat number two here it says bases-loaded time to go to work but if you look at the scoreboard the bases aren't loaded you know I'm gonna I'm gonna take this Grand Slam Oh the bases are loaded okay we're gonna try to hit a grand slam here the grand slam challenge forcing cutter knuckle curve at a changeup here we got offering on its way no dude I I actually thought that was I thought that was gonna go I really did I felt good about that one felt like it had some pop on it that would have been fantastic we're okay though tinnitus I feel like every time we've had a bases-loaded situation in this series so far we've always had a home run either right before it or right after it we haven't hit one yet four-seam cider two-seam got a new pitcher here it's the bottom of the fourth were already up by five looking pretty good there deliver here's the first close to the elbow gonna have to have to back back down I want any any beams like we've had in the past got to be careful he's these fools can't be trusted out here with a 200 lead in account this guy seems to be a little bit nervous stands we've been showing some some power today so can't blame them back into 2015 that's inside that's gonna be a trio lead in the count glory of superstore how many outs to do and out the career he has being drink got no outs this might be a free free pass to get on the base we were early on that and we were swing it a little bit low alright okay well we were at a full count there unfortunately we kind of faltered a bit here oh my goodness dude that was lucky I'll take it to be honest I was kind of looking for the walk there I mean when you get a 300 lead I would expect one of the next couple of pitches my finger slipped off the analog stick it's how to make up for it though here we go bottom of the sixth got a guy on nobody out for seam side a to see pitch of the at-bat this guy's I know he's mad bro I know he's mad because he got robbed up that last walk and then he just got rocked let's go I'll take it we did two home runs but neither one of them are when the bases were loaded of course that's just how it works that's just how it works man beautiful work trap great hit love how is nervous about how we had turned up to batting difficulty in recent episodes two episodes ago we're on the highest of the game I was worried that we weren't gonna be able to hit anymore home runs and it looks like they're still flowing maybe mine who's his first base that is not good do gonna go play behind the catcher or something not really sure what we're supposed to cover there but that that was that was a good hit by him right down that third-base line bottom of the 8th - this is still a ball game man we're only up by 314 slider changeup a tattoo anyway strike one that could have been another home run right there no doubt these are home field ups Pro we need to keep these guys in the payroll that's for sure absolutely not have swung at that one that's alright dummy not the end of the world we've had a good game so far and it looks like and keeping the team is gonna be able to I'll see you guys in game 2 game 2 against the Yankees game 3 of the episode hope you guys have enjoyed as today's video hoped we could have a similar game here's the last one I feel like that last one was a bit of a shootout both teams had a fantastic offensive campaign and make contact with every swing an advance a runner is gonna be our challenge here bottom of the first we've got one out got a guy in second base and a 100 lead forcing curveball changeup slider and a 2 Cena to the headband late on the 4 seam there probably should have laid off that one but that's ok who would have swung a bit earlier I think that could have been could have been a good ball we swing too early on that one alright gotta believe you're gonna get well top pitches in this count with the boats you count to start things off your not looking promising that's inside we're finally gonna learn to lay off countess here we go baby come on just need a basehead on the belt whoa there she blows sayonara that's what I'm talking about okay here we go baby I'll take it completed our challenge got a little bit on our Lightning personality trait and gave our team an extra couple of runs to start things off here that's what I'm what I'm talking about man bottom of the third nobody on nobody out got a four elite you worried about you worried I know you're a little bit a little bit worried up there I could I can read your eyes homie better give me something to hit here see what you got that was way too high and we should the swung at it but it's gone anyway let's go back to back yes sir this time it's gonna be a solo shot man I am eating yo lunch yo dinner and tomorrow's breakfast homies I hope you're hungry as we eat now here at a five-o leader aaron judge up to bat and he's gonna be hittin it to me looks like bounced to first Oh got it dude whoa we have like a super speed boost there man we're pretty pretty quick to shut out working all right five-o lead to start things off I mean this is even better than our last game I do like close games but if we could blow somebody out let's do it same picture here forcing curveball changeup slider to seaman fastball later he got a fastball didn't miss it see if they pitch him a little bit differently oh man that one's gonna pop us up and we're gonna we're gonna fly out to shallow right that's unfortunate we're just gonna go back to back to back with the home runs out that would have been that would have been something pretty striding pretty special or shilla he's right got runners on the corners here I mean if it's just quick grounder we could potentially try to save the run at home but I think especially with this lead we really probably want to kind of look at just look at the DoublePlay towards second yeah but it's good to be going to double play that's two outs there beautiful work that's what I'm talking about coming up to bat see if we can continue this offensive just destruction that we've been up to to Singapore seems changeup curveball sinker got a guy on second base ready to come home oh alright well I'm gonna try going to ignores his coach he's chugging for room there we go we'll take the RBI nice little RBI it's probably a single right that's not gonna be counted as a double anybody wondering yeah there's gonna be an error on the third baseman there just got it right underneath his glove I'll be honest you don't really see these guys make mistakes like that very often so I appreciate when they do make mistakes especially on the other teams feel like our teammates make errors quite a bit but I feel like defensive players are you know they're just automatic when they're going up against us so it feels good to see one finally make a little a little whoopsy and he strikes pop of the 7th is over there we're still up by 7 having a pretty good game we're gonna be able to just to win that one out there we go boys a very successful game I love it really the only thing that could have made it
