so Minecraft 1.2.5 has been released and that means that I'm going to be bringing you up to speed with all the new additions tweaks changes and more for vanilla tweaks and if you just so happen to not know what vanilla tweaks is it's a resource pack picker that lets you make subtle changes to the game like these D the numbered hot bar down the bottom here of course the dark GUI and the brewing stand guide 2 and many other subtle changes like the brick variations behind me here so vanilla tweaks is a website that you can interact with and we'll start this video off with a quick tutorial at the top of the resource pack picker you can select which version of Minecraft you would like to select your tweaks for these tweaks are all split into different categories when you open one up you can then start to make a selection from the different packs when hovering over a pack you'll see a preview of what it does on the side if you wanted to select everything inside of a single category then you got the pickle button here and any conflicts between packs will be highlighted by colors and when you hover over them it tells you what it's incompatible with you can also change the order of which the packs appear on the side here to prioritize one over another and then the download button is directly below this list and if you don't know how to install a resource pack after you've downloaded it you can click this button it's a Nifty tutorial that will run you through all the steps to get your resource pack into the game the another tweaks also provides data packs which make different types of changes to the game some of you are probably very keen to update these however I have some bad news 1.2.5 has introduced some really big under the hood changes for command format and MBT data because of this it's going to take a lot of time to update all of these data packs from the previous version to the next one and fix all the issues with them so currently they haven't been updated and I don't have a timeline for when they will be available because these changes are just so massive and there's probably a lot of unknowns to figure out along the way the resource packs however are absolutely fine so let's get into some of the new additions and changes starting with the aesthetic category which has accurate scaffolds so we use string and bamboo to craft these of course and that is not often reflected in the texture but with this texture pack you can see your scaffolding will represent the materials that went into creating it so if you want that kind of consistency now you've got the option if you are paying attention to the caves in the very beginning of this video you might have noticed some additional texture and that was thanks to the Moss carpet with this resource pack you can simply plop this down on top of another block and then it's got the carpet overhanging The Edge like so it's called Moss carpet overhang and the name pretty much explains exactly what it does it's a nice addition that may look out of place on occasion however that looks pretty fantastic this brings me to the next pack which is fenci fences which Mak makes fences and fence gates much easier to look at by rotating the plank texture and removing some of the noise that that would generate so now your fences and fence gates can be much smoother and in my opinion much more appealing the brown lever resource pack which changes the lever to be like that of the dyed lever has now been applied to the vehicle hearts of a horse that has a saddle on it so down here you can now see it has that consistent color with the saddle that we have on the horse and if you are in the aesthetic category looking for different stems that's now been recategorized and moved into the utility section in the fixes and consistent category we now have consistent smooth Stone which makes the texture consistent with that of the lower slab which was different from the other variations here on the website you can see the before and after shot for these texture changes consistent blank decorated pot makes it so that the sides of your pot that don't have art will have that little Rim at the bottom and top hanging signs now have a consistency pack that adds the log to the top part of the texture so here you can see instead of having the plank texture up top you've now got the logs the brighter rim armor trim pack increases the brightness of the rib armor to be consistent with that of other types as you can see in the example by default it's actually a lot dimmer and lastly if you use nicer fast leaves this has been updated so it now supports water log texture for the leaves too in the unobtrusive category there is a new pack called No Cherry leave particles and now that I've said it you can obviously see it it will remove those particle effects from the game so if you find them to be a little too much you got the option to remove them completely also in the unobtrusive section smaller utilities have been updated so that the compass the loadstone compass recovery compass and the clock all appear smaller when held by the player in the fun category there's a new pack for suspicious sand and suspicious gravel but I couldn't figure out exactly what the change was kind of sus also from the fun section is the pack that turns emeralds into rubies this has been made to work with armor trims and there you go I got to say though it's very similar to the red option with redstone if you enjoyed my hermitcraft season 9 base then you might enjoy having this panoramic menu background that's now available on the website it's in the subcategory of my hermitcraft bases and in options backgrounds grass has been the one new edition added and if you wanted to see what that looked like uh here it is in the menu area in the Retro section there is a pack to revert the Alex and Steve the spol Skins to their pre 1.20 textures and the old enchantment glint has been readded it was removed from the site with the recent changes but then it's been added back so you can have that really strong enchantment glint if you want it this this next one is massive and it's a part of the terrain category it's called Golden savan it changes the biome color to this yellowy golden brown that's absolutely gorgeous honestly it doesn't affect the leaves as you can see here but it affects the grass block and the grass on top of it and in all fairness I think it makes the savan look a lot more interesting this is a a really Vivid change but one that I would welcome of course with vanilla tweaks it's just an option in the variation category we have a really interesting pack called variated villagers as it says here it's going to vary their skin tones depending on the temperature of the biome those villagers are found in and so I spent a little bit of time putting together a function that can generate all of the villagers so what we have here is every villager profession including the nitwit and unemployed and then we have all of the different village types and even an unassigned Village so you can see down at the bottom we have the desert and The Jungle which have the darker skin tones and in the middle we have the cold one which has the lighter skin tone so yeah this is a really cool way to just add some variety to the villages in your world in the 3ie category we have 3i skull veins may not be so obvious at a distance but once you get close you can see the skull vein just pops out off the block a little bit with that 3d effect that's pretty cool and in the 3D doors pack cherry and bamboo doors have now been added they got that 3D look and if you use the glass pack for trap doors and doors cherry and bamboo were added there too the 3D items pack now has a 3D sniffer egg in your inventory signs and hanging signs have also been turned into 3D blocks here in the mob section of peace and quiet beehives and be nests will now make less sound if you use the quieter bees and similar to that with quieter villagers their workstations will now make a much less sound too another great feature of vanilla tweaks is the ability to drag an existing pack over here drop it in and then edit it and there is a great reason to do this because there are absolutely tons of compatibility fixes here so there are now more packs that you can combine together that previously might have conflicted and the same thing goes for fixes too there's absolutely loads of them so it's always worth redoing your resource pack so you get all of these fixes and tweaks Now we move on to data packs which as you know won't be ready for 1.2.5 but there are a couple of packs that have been updated since I last made a video so first of all the wandering trades for the Hermits now has smallish beans and skizzleman and some of the hermit skins have been updated for this latest season 2 the big one though is the more mob heads data pack which is now version 2.2.4 if you're not on this one you absolutely want to update cuz there are some big big changes if you're not in the know this data pack adds a mob Head Drop to a mob so you can see that we get this from the polar bear and this is the same for all passive and hostile mobs in the game and I also just learned that polar bears go after foxes I didn't realize this and if you watch hermitcraft you're well aware of this new feature but now when you put these on top of a note block and activate it it'll make a sound representing that mob unfortunately the data to do this is stored on the Block so it's not backwards compatible if you update the pack new mob heads that are created will have this on them but old ones won't the Wither boss was changed so that this head would drop 100% of the time and then 50% of the time you have a 50/50% chance to get one of these two wolf and angry wolf heads are no longer random the game can now detect if you kill a wolf when it's just normal or when it's angry and lastly the red sheep has been changed to make the aoka wulu sound and when 1 120.5 arrives you can expect individual heads for each of the different wolf types and of course the armadillo too and with that we are brought to the end of this one if you've enjoyed it leave a like to support the channel and of course you can find a link to vanilla tweaks in the description box down below so thanks for watching and I'll see you soon or another bye-bye
