been talking about this Great Recession for years now I'm worried I have to live with us you've seen how I could barely handle her for a weekend you know once his second loan goes through in the house that should hold us over till everything goes back to normal I just spoke to my manager and unfortunately Mr Reynolds you were not approved but I've been with you for 15 years do you know how many clients I brought here for loans I mean there has to be something that you can do something if it's my income that's the no no it's not just that it's your home value [Music] you're underwater you see your current mortgage balance is higher than your home's worth that's not possible I just got out of Praise six months ago I have at least 200k in equity maybe six months ago not today [Music] feels something he's never felt before a panic attack it's so bad that he has to rush out of the room his heart races he finds himself having a hard time breathing he can't believe his financial problems are now turning into health problems pressure mounts Alex now has to rely on prescription medication to help him with his anxiety just to make it through the day a few years go by and Alex is to come next hey Dad since you close a new deal do you think we can go to Universal Studio sometime oh yeah please please please please well guys you know it was a small deal so it's just enough to hold us over so I think we should Alex hey uh Timmy can you watch your little brother for me hi hey um you know how I've been feeling really nauseous lately I finally figured out what it was we're pregnant did you believe it I was like totally shocked I'm like this can't be right this has got to be a false positive I always can't make sure maybe I need to go to the drugstore and get a couple more years Alex are you okay ah I mean we we talked about trying for a girl right now I am I'm happy just don't know how I'm Gonna Keep Up like a horrible a father and a husband oh no don't ever say that I know you've been so stressed out lately in the past few years but you know what I'm going to be by your side no matter what and I know I said no to this before but my friend Maggie works at a marketing company and she told me they're hiring so I'm thinking about applying thank you yeah I really appreciate that but even if you worked you know the cost of the nanny would be your salary alone so I mean what what's the point I need to go through this I need to get through this by myself okay I need my meds [Music] okay [Music] are you okay everything's all right bud it's fine Tad I'm old enough to know that something's wrong can you just please tell me it's just that these past few years has been really really ever since the real estate industry crashed with my friends and my co-workers even told me just move on another field a long time ago give up dad you can't give up that goes against everything that you stand for the things you always told me when I was young or hit a ball or ride a bike if you stick to something long enough then it will eventually work out and alas if you were just saying that and you didn't mean it no I meant it really did then you can't give up I believe in you you're the smartest and hardest working person I know you figure this out I promise I love you bud friends love you too Dad look now what why don't we go over there right [Music] with the little boost from his son Alex decides to keep on fighting and never give up on his career even though he continues to struggle with self-doubt and anxiety he pushes himself through it and keeps on working [Music] several months later he welcomes his first baby girl Bridget he's excited but more kids means more expenses the pressure keeps building up for Alex even though his family does everything they can to support him several years passed and Alex continues to struggle but little did he know things were about to change hey I'm sorry I'm late the lines were insane like everybody's fighting over toilet paper and cleaning products like people are preparing for the Apocalypse oh kids could you go in the other room you want to talk to your dad about something you saw the notice on the door yeah I did okay I'm closing in on a deal and that should hold us off for a while I just can't help but thinking that it's only going to get worse I mean everything is closing down restaurants are completely shut down I mean I don't see a future in real estate I don't way we're going to figure it out have you guys seen the news dozens of Industries but when it comes to real estate Southern California houses are moving like never before in December the Statewide median home prize was more than 717 thousand dollars up nearly 17 percent from December of 2019. but the high sale prices aren't dry pandemic is actually helping real estate reality I I would have never imagined that this would happen well it makes sense because everybody's being forced to work from home now and interest rates are low so yeah hi this is Alex yeah you want to list your house in Bakersfield [Music] oh yeah absolutely oh oh hold on for a second hey Chris yeah it's been a while like on Sunset of course after over 10 years of barely scraping by Alex's real estate business is about to turn around over the next couple years he closes more deals than ever he makes more in a month than he used to in an
