MILLENIUM TOWER ABUJA NIGERIA

yeah hi everyone welcome back to the channel this morning this morning i decided to go through some of the comments and uh someone made a comment one mahmood thank you very much for that comment he mentioned that i should try to show a place called the millennium tower in the city of abuja in the central business c street uh so that's what we're going to this morning i want to see if it's a place where that they can allow us aim and to talk about it and tell you guys what the whole thing is all about here we go [Music] so all right the millennium tower you can see it just by the side of the church gate builder i know it's far except you zoom into it probably from this angle you know same let me come to the side of the lane if you can see it it's just beside the melee these churchgates you can see a tower that has like three prong on top with a construction crane still by the side that is the millennium town this tower was actually was actually inaugurated during the obasanjo regime and uh it was supposed to be the the center of the city i mean the thing that will attract tourists to this city um what happened is that uh for it has been on now fighting for about 12 years 12 years or something i read and it has not been completed yet i also read that um for the past three years or thereabout or four years i don't know no funds have been provided for this project at all it's a sad one but i'm just gonna go i don't know whether they will allow us into the uh premises where the construction where the site is but if not wherever it is i'm just gonna go there and see if i can tell you guys more about the place okay we're in the central business district right now and i'm trying to see how i'm going to get to the millennium towers but i think i'll just drive down this way okay let me guys just bear with me because i've never driven there before but i can see it's that's the millennium tower there let me go to okay let me go this way i'm gonna go back to the other lane to see if i can find a way to get to red ties and if uh anyone would be there to probably allow us or talk to us about the place that's the goal this morning okay okay let's go like this let's see where this road takes us to oh wow okay that's the millennium tower you can see to my right okay i can see there is a gate somewhere here uh i don't know let me see if i can get up there pack and ask if someone can allow us in to that section all right that's what we're going to now guys wish me luck i know nigerians are always not too willing to allow you into places especially when you're coming with a camera but it's just something i just want to see if they allow me there at all so here we go let me see okay now let's go let me go let's pack by the car there i know the security guards may not just allow me because they don't know me but i'm just going to see if i can park here and then come down and talk to somebody uh okay let me pack here yeah anyway that was a long description i actually went to uh i thought i could enter because it looks very close from here like i said i've never been there before so i asked the guys they tried to describe how i was going to get to the millennium towers anyway so they just described somewhere so i'm just going to try to find the place on my own it's hard because even their description is pretty funny because they don't they don't seem to know exactly how to get their videos just trying to describe it to the best of their knowledge which is okay so i'm just gonna try to make a u-turn here and see if i can okay let me see let's go back guys just enjoy this adventure that we are on this morning is the learning curve i will say for all of us we're just learning to find out where these places are you know it's the funny thing is that you're in a city for a while and you've not been to a particular place you don't you drive past it often because you have not taken your time to find out how to get to a place it's kind of difficult the day you try to do it because you you think you you know the place you're seeing it but getting to it is like way difficult than it seems okay this is the place of my left but you can't just get to it through this way okay let's go they describe some way to me let me see if i can find it and see whether i can get to the place i also ask if uh i'll be allowed in they seem to think it's possible but let's go let's try really i have no idea where this road i'm taking leads a bit let's just go okay guys i should go down from this bridge okay maybe i should just uh use google map to try to locate this because i'm not sure this thing is working okay let's go down like you suggested let me go back this way this is i'm gonna go like this i'm not sure but let's just go this way first okay maybe what i'm gonna do i'm gonna go through the google map and see how i can locate this place and then get to it let's go to uh let me go this way let's see oh boy okay let me park here first let me park here first and see what happens with that there's a place that i can imagine how i'm gonna get in there uh i can see this road [Music] you can see the fence of the place because like what we learned the place is supposed to house a lot of things it's supposed to house a swimming pool uh the national library is there arts and culture is supposed to be there they're supposed to even have like a 1200 capacity car park which will take care of a lot of problems of people packing in the cbd and you they're supposed to even be like a restaurant on top of that dome thing that's round thin there and there you if you get up there you can see almost everywhere in the city you know and it is a project that has been going on like i said for a couple of years and recently they've not funded it and so i read that cellini the company doing the construction actually said that they are we are waiting for funds they know even by this delay things are also getting more expensive because what happened is that the cost of items five years ago is nowhere what they are today so it means that governments will be coughing up more money if they're going to finish this project but it is an important project that needs to be completed it needs to be completed because it will tell so much about this city it will do so much to the tourism and attract many people to this city because just think about people living in nearby cities around abuja here they can come maybe stay in a hotel it also boosts the economic factor i mean think about it that people can come go on up on this tower and then look down look at the city i i'm sure the view from there will be awesome right now we're stuck i'm i'm seeing the fence of the tower i'm not sure of how i'm going to get in there that is just the bone but what i'm gonna do is that i'm just gonna try and uh drive around to see what i can find a place because at least this is closer the closest i've been able to get to since i've been driving around and i just hope that oh god okay let me drive down see if i can find a place in front if there is a place i can drive into that'll be fantastic really that would be but i'm also thinking that that's close to where i was before the first time i came because we went into one office area there where the security guards tried to describe how i was going to get to this place let me drive around for a couple of minutes if i see if i can find a way if i can find a way of getting close and i'm able to get close i'll continue the video from there okay let me park here and take a walk to see if i can find okay i can see a security guard hold on all right you guys said come here take me to the manager i told him i'm not a reporter because they were wondering say which organization am i rapping just so in front okay okay i'm sure this is the parking lot and up okay i was reading that the place contained like 1200 cars or something okay no wonder it's a 1200 cal wow guys i'm so happy at least papa has allowed us to go and see okay wow okay come back somewhere here okay let me park with my back here okay okay that's okay inside office there good so all right wow i've never seen anything as big as this i mean in nigeria to see a parking lot as big as this yeah yeah sealed is a good investment it is oh okay all right let's take this enough steps to the second level to see other parking lots okay this is the second level they're already cassiosa oh cybian siberia okay this is so nice i mean packing the car here during the day your car paints will last long because i understand here so let me enter an intact so is this supposed to be like a hotel here too okay all right i'm sure by the time it is fully functional all the lights will be on the uh millennium tower you guys can see just behind me i'm sure you guys all right i came after driving around for a couple of over half an hour trying to get into this place i finally found the way to get in here and i found someone security guy that allowed me in and i he took me to his bus and the man was too glad when i told him what i was into i told him look it's youtube i'm here to show
