To be fair, this TV format was never going to work. Wheel some kids out in front of their possibly drunk or high hero (Davis had alcohol and drug dependencies around that time), and try to tell him they might become better than him? Jesus, who thought this was a good idea in the first place?

Guys, that was nothing. One, that was miles at his very nicest. Two, studying at any of the prestigious music schools will have young musicians shat on all day every day. Most people seem to know that ballet teachers are super demanding and harsh. Many musicians are the same with their students.
