Michelin Star Donuts you need to try

it was the best episode ever look at that and maybe the best one hi i'm josh hi molly and today we are going to be trying the jolly best donuts in london including a mystery michelin star donut i've chosen a collection of what i believe are the best donuts in london and one of them comes from a michelin starred restaurant slash donut maker so one of them is the dough's nuts all right first up ollie donut time oh baby oh yeah oh that's a beautiful sight the donut time is growing all over london they have taken ownership of one of the four dimensions and claimed it for donut time it's time one of the doors i know we're in a 4d world are we back to donuts their most classic is just called the og original glazed the og [Music] original glaze yeah yeah wow you've gone for two bites we have a lot of donuts to try there's probably like 30 donuts for us to try drying everything we're trying all of them i can't try all of that yeah no don't worry about it no i am worried i'm already worrying about it og what do you think yeah i mean 10 out of 10. 10 out of 10. that's a strong start if you start 10 there's no way we can go but down i mean we can't you can fly straight through the hundred percent exactly you need more of an imagination josh all right second donut we have is called the dolt nut because it looks like the donut from the simpsons yeah i like this one less already okay similar but more fruity don't eat the whole thing what do you think it's good not ten out of ten nine and a half wow ten ten out of ten oh my gosh wow next up we have the gordon jamsie oh look at that jam in the middle jammy dodger on top [Music] oh my gosh wow that's very sweet maybe too much four out of ten four out of ten it's the first one i didn't want a second bite okay i'll take your verdict you're the donut connoisseur next up bread ahead located in borough market they're going to have to do a lot to beat the original from donuts to get ahead i would say off of the ogs wow oh yeah it's like they read my mind i'm already impressed okay i think you're gonna like these ollie there's one specifically that i think you're gonna really like there's a honeycomb involved how do you know how did you know you're a match made in here all right here we have this you're right that's their original vanilla cookies and cream salted caramel and honeycomb heck yeah and then blackcurrant cheesecake swirl okay we're getting too experimental here bread has steamed too far ahead well i don't know all right should we start with the the vanilla original look at that this is so hard to not just eat all of every single one [Music] oh baby oh that vanilla cream oh my i think it's a step ahead that's better than the original place it's an eleven eleven out of ten oh wow you finished that as well taste yourself stay over get out the honeycomb wowzers trousers salted caramel honeycomb this looks really good as well okay [Music] huh salt and cream don't go well together i should love that by all accounts i also i'm not sure that salted caramel and honeycomb go well together that's almost bread behind all right cookies and cream yeah you try it and i will trust your opinion okay okay because i know that i'm not going to love this cookies and cream doughnut not as good yes enough made a good decision that current one got try it okay no wow hints of cheesecake that's not bad better than cookies and cream or honeycomb the vanilla was the best i'm pretty certain that donut time doesn't have a mission to start bread ahead i mean it's 11 out of 10. ollie it's 11 out of 10 but michigan star is like a thousand out of ten i don't think that's a mission start right now okay okay i'm not going to tell you now he's trying to pick up cues all right next up crosstown wow okay oh baby points for presentation oh baby does that not look good yeah heck yes it does oh my gosh look at that i would say the middle one in particular looks least appealing to me okay but it's probably most michelin worthy because the michelin places they love the presentation michelin meals as far as i'm aware yeah they're like the olympic gymnasts of meals most people when they get to the end of their work day they just pick up their bag and leave olympic gymnasts when they get to the end of their routine okay yeah i see i see what you're right here we have the tongan vanilla bean glaze we have the sri lankan cinnamon sugar how did tongans and sri lankans feel about this were they insulted i don't know i didn't ask and then we have the peanut butter and blackcurrant compote you excited about that i mean to those names and you know it has the opposite effect it has the opposite effect on me i liked it when i opened it and now i'm like oh if they just call that that gee yeah it would have been that's good you want short and simple glazed cinnamon okay peanut butter and jam okay should we try the great let's do it first up okay i'm excited about the glazed tongan vanilla bean glaze [Music] next up we've got the sri lankan cinnamon sugar let's try it i mean to me that just looks like sawdust on there ah oh that's not good [Laughter] it's like you dropped a bagel into some cinnamon a baby that's a bit harsh i thought the tongue was dry but the sri lankans are absolutely freaking living look this peanut butter one's got real peanuts on the top got a well of jam in the middle or should i say berry compote there's already one meal look at that [Applause] all right all right come to my pot okay [Music] extremely strong it's like a peanut butter and jam sandwich but in sweet donut form i like that it's better than either of these than any of the others i'd say that's a sort of there out there seven i'm not going to change your life really okay ross down not that impressed definitely doesn't have a mission start oh if it does you think so the michelin man just got carried away okay late at night probably had a few too many drinks i was like this is the best donut i've ever had give it one of my stars and they're like you literally don't have many of those they're super exclusive and he's like give it to them next up we have sun john bakery is this the point where it becomes weird there's like a pork donut it doesn't look like there's going to be bacon in one of these donuts doesn't there you can actually get savory donuts i've avoided them for today what we have here some john's bakeries vanilla jam and chocolate donuts firstly no big fancy names they don't look fancy they're exuding confident cheers mate vanilla [Music] all that vanilla isn't that good that's really good [Music] that is you just had a second bite straight up dare i say it that is a step above it's gone ahead of bread ahead it's got way ahead of red ahead ironically bread ahead is now bred behind i guess bread ahead is behind me the dough is so fluffy the cream is like the perfectly not too sweet but sweet enough honestly that's legitimately really really good that's the best we've had so far by quite a long way maybe the best donut i've ever had maybe genuinely the jam donut you going for the little saucy bit on top yeah you are okay oh my god i've got 100 jam jam is way too strong i want more of the bread it's oozing jam look at that it felt like a fancy jam but i don't know if i want a fancy jam in my doughnut you know that was too sweet well let's see how the chocolate compares [Music] oh wow it's honestly like wow that's like a restaurant dessert that they just stuffed inside a donut genuinely thing is it's just a little bit too rich for me i mean i could easily hold one of them front runner so far i don't know what you got coming up but if i had to call it right now i would say this one has a mission star since that one was your favorite so far i thought maybe now is the time to compare it against krispy kreme they are the standard bearer they are all of our friends know i like krispy kremes so back when we had birthday parties and stuff people often used to buy a box of krispy kremes and bring them over it was always bittersweet right because in trying to be kind yeah they would get variety they were killing me with that kindness because i hate the fans i hate the fancy stuff i just want the original i'm not gonna lie we actually ordered a six box of original glazed and they just they just delivered us this i i know i knew that's what we wanted you know that makes me feel really good why yeah yeah i do know i do who knew a flipping donut episode couldn't contain this much bromance cheers it's the original oh that's good that's good i'm a bit worried now why because is this one of those weird things where you're like back in 1953 crispy green was awarded the first michelin star by the michelin man the reason i gave that to you back to back with your favorite was to compare it's definitely better than everything except for the one that we just saw the the pig the pig meat one the pig meat once in john's bakery jason johnson it's between that and john's that has been a very sweet doughy adventure through london's donuts it's decision time firstly what's the best secondly which one had a mission in style i think it's between donut time st john's pick and krispy kreme ollie i just put that in there as like a control you know in like a scientific experiment you need a control these two are at least on par i think you are a maniacal krispy kreme family if anything then you're saying your favorable rating of this is is actually a big statement yeah they've done very well it's an amazing tribute i would say it's on par oh okay i'd say it's a step above but i'll take your rating i'll take it at some point okay okay the pig bakery though yes holy freaking balls pig nuts nuts it's the dose nuts do we have a winner it actually isn't really a comparison in fact i would bet quite a lot that that has a mission stuff that is the michelin star yes some john bakery i think there's a couple around london and they produce a hell of a donor if at some point the world can travel again when you come to london and want to try a very good donut check out and in the meantime we'll see
