Meeting My Online Friends for the First Time

there are billions of people in the world with hundreds and thousands of people we walk past each day that we never see again but these are the people I'm glad I stopped by to get to know them I live in Australia where I am isolated from absolutely everybody meaning that being able to go see any of my friends isn't as simple as catching a train so I flew across the entire world to go meet all of my friends I was finally living my dream to meet my friends some of these people who I have known for nearly three years now but as I boarded my flight and was in the air for the next 14 hours I pondered to myself was this really worth it these people that I considered friends I might have known them for a while but I have never met them in person before who knows how different they could be in person maybe they aren't as excited as I am to meet them how do I really know if they aren't playing some sort of character as these questions rolled around in my head I finally arrived at my destination the United States of America it was 6 a.m in the morning and I had apparently arrived the earliest out of anyone in the group at the airport after waiting eight hours in the airport I finally noticed a familiar face approach someone who had trained me in PvP and been like an older brother to me is now standing right in front of me so I shoved them onto the ground as a way to greet him but while me and clown had been messing around finally the rest of the group would arrive as well then as a group went to our Airbnb and the moment we arrived things were getting crazy already no hi guys don't stop [Music] why do you have me as your wallpaper oh we weren't supposed to see that yeah that's kind of weird what do you mean what's weird about it that's weird it's just been my back I just needed a background a couple a couple of months ago and just like needed a background as we continue to mess around in our Airbnb we all decided to go downtown to grab some food and meet others as well most people went to go get pizza but I wanted to try something more American and got myself a nice chicken burger which also in this same store they were selling glazed donuts with chicken in it after a nice meal we all just headed back to the Airbnb and called it for a night and the next morning I woke up to see redoons had arrived at the Airbnb but we had a problem a good friend Matt vomitis was supposed to be arriving at the Airbnb with redoons but unfortunately Mark's flight had been delayed and throughout the entire night he had been stuck at the Atlanta airport [Music] so Zam penguin to Mixel and I set off to go pick up Mark at the airport oh now that Mark had been picked up from the airport we all drove back to the Airbnb and I had experienced the most loudest car ride I've ever been and after getting my ears blasted out the next loudest person arrived at the Airbnb coin monkey including Woogie who who had just arrived and JC who arrived the day before I got put into a headlock and then we all decided to go bowling [Music] we're not going to talk about how many pins I hit that day wasn't print Zam though because he only hit eight pins that day and with finishing off the night we headed back to start the grilling stream ing the following day after finishing off Mark's Burger I met up with the others to visit Disneyland I have never been to Disneyland before but I was terrified of amusement park rides but since I paid over 300 to even go to Disneyland I got the courage to get on every single ride oh as the day was finally coming to an end we all stood in front of the Disney Castle while we watched the fireworks go off this beautiful firework show had made me realize how much had happened during the three days I've already been here with my friends all of these people that I had stared at through my screen for the past few years finally had depth to them and I had been taking it all for granted in that moment I realized that I was halfway through my trip already and as the fireworks show ended I was excited for what I had in store for the next few days as the fourth day began I headed to the VidCon convention to finally meet everyone not just to meet my other friends but to also meet new creators I even got to meet tubbo and he knew who I was even though he doesn't know how to say my name properly and by spending my entire day at the convention we all got dressed formally to go to a Denny's walking into this Denny's with formal outfits made us look so out of place but we all dined in style that night and the next two days we all just walked around the VidCon convention meeting new people and annoying people in the Airbnb we laughed at that clip for the entire night but on the last day of the convention I got a call from parrot and Vortex they had been trying to look for me through the entire convention throughout the day and had no luck in finding me and when they were just about to give up on looking for me Harrod had found me and given me his only YouTube's plushie as I had gotten him some snacks from Australia and as we left the convention center for the last time I didn't realize that one of the people I idolized the most was leaving today terrain who I had spoken to for so long online and someone who I was excited that I had met had left earlier than anyone else I have looked up the terrain for the past few years now and as I watched him slowly walk away from the convention I realized that my time with terrain had ended and I wouldn't see him again in person on the final day we all decided to clean the Airbnb and head to the beach to spend our last moments together and while cleaning we had two new guests to join us at the Airbnb and I gotta say if you need someone to clean for you ask Vortex as he literally swept every area of the house and while messing around a little more we headed to the beach with the bonfire lit up that night I got to know these people to a whole deeper level and as time went by fine Boogie Vortex and vitality all said their goodbyes and left as the night and wind became stronger we all huddled around the bonfire and for the rest of the night we all sang classic songs foreign [Music] as we chanted songs like ghost town that was the moment that made me realize that everyone that I'd been wanting to meet all these years were all genuine and the worries that I had going on this trip meant nothing and that going from friends who all just met through Minecraft to yelling at the top of our lungs singing micro parodies and even getting recorded by strangers it all finally felt real to me and I continued to enjoy the moment till the very end on the very final morning Ash had left the earliest out of anyone in the Airbnb and drove off in his Uber and JC were the very next people to leave us and as I shed my tears knowing that I won't see them again they both got into their Ubers and handed off to the airport we then all left the Airbnb for the last time and decided to go to the very Denny's we dressed up in a few nights ago after grabbing our meals Delilah Pluto and Zam all said their goodbyes and all went their ways and not long after Demi drove off as well more than half of us at this point had left and as we all got into the Ubers to head downtown rodunsa decided to make it his final moment with us and left to sleep in the airport then as all things must come to an end I had gotten into my own separate Uber and went to the airport as I sat in the back of the Uber and got emotional I realized that these past seven days had gone by so quickly and although it might have been the most amazing experience meeting all my friends it almost felt as though I didn't get enough time with everyone of course I might have known my friends through Discord for years but being online and in person was a lot different I don't fully know what these guys do in real life but rather a small notion of what they tell me but I just wanted more time with everyone but as I had finally calmed down and gotten onto my flight back home for the rest of the flight I went through my phone looking at all the pictures and videos I'd taken and even to this day when I watched a video of us singing at the bonfire I still let out a few tears and as my teacher once told me not to do I made a group of friends from the internet foreign thank you
